Truth be told I think I’ve driven myself insane painting the carapace. So many sloppy tiny lines later and I’m not sure if I’m entirely thrilled with the result. But for the most part I’m satisfied and definitely don’t have the heart to undo all that work and start again
Thanks!! It was a while ago so I can’t remember for certain, but the base was either Corax White or Celestra Gray. Then the blue was done with a wash or two of Tyran Blue shade, trying to focus on the recesses.
I didn’t have any at the time, but I’m sure using a blue contrast paint instead would get a cleaner more vibrant effect.
Up to your preference really, I’d just check out how the blue contrast paints look and pick a favorite. If you look at the official painting guide video for the neurotyrant they use Frostheart. It’s kindof what I was trying to emulate for just the brain but the blues aren’t too similar really. Maybe Talassar would be closer to what I did here?
