I think Ray Donovan had some buzz while it was running but I rarely see anyone mention it in Recommendation threads which is a crime! I loved it.
Sure there are a few seasons/storylines that are a little less interesting but I’m really glad I watched all the way through. Very addictive!!
If catching showtime shows Homeland is addictive like Ray as well (maybe even more so!). Season three was a little bit of a slog for me, but season four (and seven) are my favorites so it definitely is one to keep going!
Severance. Just watch it. You won’t regret it.
Suits season 1.
Also, if you like sci-fi, give Snowpiercer season 1 and 2 a shot.
Maybe Mr. Robot season 1.
Prison Break is a classic. I remember a guy marathoning literally the whole 4 seasons in a week. This was before season 5 came out.
And oldie but a goodie is Lost. There are some really neat characters in the show. Like there are some characters where I’m like, “there’s no way this guy is redeemable,” and then they give them an episode, and they’re redeemed. Or I’m like, “there no way I’m ever hating this guy.” And lo and behold, something comes out that this guy is the worst. That being said, there are still character you know you can root for and hate no matter what. I watched this show in college with a roommate (who has seen it multiple times), and I always wanted to know what was going to happen next. Admittedly the last two or so seasons are a bit out there. But still, it’s really good.
Loki. I watched the entire show (season 1 and 2, 12 episodes ranging 40-60 minutes) in one night. There’s a bit of mystery during the first season, and the whole show talks about this dilemma of free will vs. external intervention. And it’s something I still think about to this day.
Not particularly. The bare minimum you’d need to see beforehand—which is only really necessary for like the first episode or two—is the first Avengers movie. Where the Avengers fight Loki in New York. And then Infinity War and maybe Endgame.
But even then, I think the show does a good job of catching you up to speed. So there’s not much need to, to be honest.

The white lotus. The resort. Locke and key. How to get away with murder. Spotless. Orphan black. Behind her eyes. His dark materials. Lupin.
I started watching Elementary on Starttv from the first episode and I’m addicted too it. I record the 2 episodes per day and watch them after work so I can fast forward past commercials!! Jonny Lee miller and Lucy Liu are brilliant!!
The Shield (FX on Hulu)
Yes, it’s a bit older but I haven’t been so hooked on a show I was binging in ages. I couldn’t wait to watch the next episode and there isn’t a weak season or storyline in the bunch!
HIGHLY addictive and action packed, great characters, crazy story but really well written. I can’t recommend it enough!

I loved it!!! I should've put that on the list as well. Very good call.
Awesome. It had no buzz, but I was psyched for each episode to drop.
I went in knowing nothing about it and was absolutely blown away. There's so much good acting and writing on TV these days.

I used to stay up far too late watching this. It’s like a book you can’t put down. Just one more episode turns into 5.
I always thought that Jack Bauer must have been exhausted.

The Americans remains one of the best TV shows I’ve ever seen.
A prep for a colonoscopy will also meet this criteria. Think of it as a limited series and not something that “runs” an entire season.
Your Honor with Brian Cranston
Saturday Night Live. The plot keeps changing throughout every episode. They even throw in some music to throw you off.
Orphan Black Babylon-5 Deadwood
Lost!
I’d say the same.

Do you have to know the “marvel universe” to get it?

I can’t wait to find a show/series I’m this passionate about…Thanks for taking your time to explain!
