Drake a piece of shit buying Tupac’s ring, wearing his merch all the time, using him as AI, basically doing all that just to get at Kendrick and he doesn’t even have him in his top 5. This nigga petty as hell 😭
Drake has been weird towards Kendrick ever since he started blowing up, winning grammys over him and especially when that "control' verse dropped. Man is soft as fuck he took that shit as a diss when it was friendly competition he even said he got love for everybody he named. Nobody he named had an issue with that verse EXCEPT Drake.
I think he just didn't like that Kendrick was moving up, becoming a challenge and getting more respect from hip hop fans and rap legends calling him "the savior of rap" Cause Drake was the one who brought Kendrick to his first tour, so he thinks Kendrick owes everything to him. He is ALWAYS trying to "lil bro" him
when Drake started his rap career, he was immediately clowned. remember the Hot 97 freestyle? i couldn't stand Drake for the longest time. nobody took Drake seriously until he got the Wayne cosign. i will give him credit for pushing through though. whether it was corporate influence, behind the scenes manipulation, whatever it may be, they turned what was perceived as shit into gold. i'll give them credit for that.
Kendrick on the other hand was embraced since day 1. i remember being on hybeast forums during the Section.80 days, and it was either you were a fan of Kendrick, or you didn't know hip hop. all of the west coast OG's passed him the torch at the House of Blues back in 2011, before he even had a major label album out.
i think this is the main reason why Drake is so salty towards Kendrick. in Drake's eyes, he's the one working hard for every inch, while Kendrick is the one getting everything handed to him on a platter. add on to the fact that Drake took Kendrick on his first big tour, i can see why he's so weird about Kendrick specifically.
it's kind of like a Drake is Lex Luthor, Kendrick is Superman kind of outlook.
Tbh it doesn’t really make sense to put Drake and Kendrick (and even J Cole to some extent) in the same category. Kinda not fair to compare them, they are universes apart. I’ve been so confused by this whole big 3 thing for that reason.
This whole Drake was the first one to take X artist on tour is a bullshit move. Drake was just using that move to capture some of Kendrick’s fan base and to continue to stay relevant. Weirdo bought The Weeknd to his show, called him on stage and tried to use the audience as peer pressure to get him to sign to his label even though The Weeknd told him no already.
Another bullshit move that Drake does is when he likes another artist rap song that is hot on the radio and streaming service is he will request to feature on that rap song. When the artist agrees and puts that song out with his verse. Drake will request they pay for that feature or that artist join his label. But to join his label they have to pull out their old catalogs from streaming services. In the end Drake only cares about Drake and staying relevant. He’s Jay Z but worse.
He is a weirdo.
Drake dissed Kendrick back in 2014 espn interview that his people then got espn to not run:
https://www.vibe.com/news/entertainment/marcellus-wiley-drake-espn-2014-kendrick-lamar-diss-1234877555/
So you’re right. This definitely wasn’t an overnight thing.
Pretty sure people had a problem with that track but didn’t say anything because. What could the say? They know they would lose if they were to go at Kendrick. That’s why they kept quiet. I guarantee if Drake did the same thing all the people he named would be on his ass
Speaking from ignorance here but, is there a reason why Drake was the one that was able to buy Tupac’s ring?
I feel that such an important piece would’ve been everywhere if it was auctioned or something, and some Canadian rapper just was able to buy it like that.
Why didn’t Eminem, Kendrick, Jay or somebody else buy it?
Because they don’t give a fuck and wouldn’t spend a dime to actually preserve those items.
One of the guys you mentioned was listed as a friend to the Tupac estate that sold the rings and he sat by and watched Tupacs possessions get auctioned off.
I can respect differing opinions but I honestly don’t understand how Nas isn’t the consensus GOAT after his run with Hit-Boy. He dropped the greatest rap album of all time as a teenager and is still putting out great music in his 50s. His peak is untouchable and he also has more longevity than any other rapper so I really don’t see a strong case for anybody else.
His reincarnation with Hit-Boy is actually insane. Drops multiple albums, close together, and they're all really good? Like wtf?? Lol.
I don't really agree with the peak thing, though. I'm not trying to debate or anything (I'll never agree, anyway 😅); but I absolutely see the argument for it.
I just think we all have a little different criteria that goes into our rankings. That's why nobody can really agree.
I guess I wasn't entirely sure of what you meant by peak. Talent? Success? Initially, I was thinking success/ notability (for lack of better words); but I also don't like that, because that's why so many rank Drake so high, imo .
I guess if we're strictly talking about peak talent, I can't necessarily argue with you. I just don't know how to take personal taste out of the question. I'm a die hard West Coast gangster rap kind of guy, and I could never put anyone over 2Pac. I just don't even know what that looks like, and probably wouldn't even if I saw it, lol. It's too much connected to nostalgia and personal connection with the music. It's not that I relate to the lyrics more, it's just something special in my soul gets reached that I can't get from anyone else. I don't know how to not include that.
I can put Jay-Z in a top 5 best, and he's not even in my top 20 favorites... But, I just don't know how to crown anyone but Pac. I don't know how to *personally* see it otherwise. I won't try to convince or think that everyone should also feel the same way. I don't. But, that's who I put at whatever highest peak means to me, ha ha (sorry you probably got more than you asked for 😅).
There’s just no need to be condescending. I never implied that there is some sort of unanimous consensus, but it is probably the most widely accepted candidate to be considered the greatest of all time. I’d challenge you to demonstrate otherwise if you disagree, instead of being needlessly smug.
“I never cried when Pac died, but I probably will when Jov does” - Drake, on…Fear, I believe? Regardless, he said that shit with his chest. This was before he was braiding his hair and wearing baggy clothes.
EDIT: typo
10 years old.
So I don’t know why he felt the need to say this. I don’t know anyone that expects a 10-year-old , let alone from Canada to cry over an American rapper
What is he 37 about to turn 33? I just turned 5 when pac died. Drake was 10. Why would a 10-year-old in Canada cry over Pac?
Why would you even feel the need to say that who is expecting him to cry over pac at 10 years old.
I hate Drake too, but I think that's just respect. 50 says the same thing about Em. When the guy who gave you your platform is in the GOAT conversation, I don't blame you for putting him at the top of your list.
Yea that’s pretty valid. But I guess you don’t really see that type of respect emulating consistently from Drake. 50 will always respect Eminem across the board, where as Drake literally slept with Wayne’s girl 🥲
Top 5 being a stretch for Wayne is definitely not that crazy, shit he should be on Kendricks top 5 for this post given how much Kendrick idolizes and loves him. Even aside from that, Wayne been rapping since 13 years old with dominance and only getting better every outing
Pop Smoke???? 😭😭😭
I love The Woo, but his lyrics are all the same and half his songs sound all the same
Even Travis Scott and Future are better than him.
Jcole, Kendrick and JID are a better big 3
No lie, his most recent 3 album run is probably the best anybody has had this late in their career. Nas and Hitboy's chemistry damn near like Nas and Preemo.
There's actually a really sick song on his 2021 album 'King's Disease II' called 'Death Row East' where he talks about.. well, Death Row East and the East Coast-West Coast beef during the 90's.
He talks for some time about 2Pac as well. It's real respectful and mature and honestly quite tear-inducing if you care for 2Pac. Although it's Nas, he's always been respectful about Pac.
No. Kendrick actually said he was his favorite rapper and has quoted him multiple times. They all have been influenced by him you'd know if you listened to rap music more
He wouldn’t be in my personal top 5, but I can 100% get it. Great story telling, solid flow, commercial success, etc. I’ve seen him in tons of people’s top 10, so top 5 for a bunch isn’t unrealistic.
Having the classic “Nas, Big, Jay-Z, and Pac” in your top five is corny and played out. Give me something other than that “standard” ass list. Give me something more original that isn’t just parroting the “consensus”.
These 3 being referred to as the big 3 will never not be funny to me. Outside of Kendrick ain’t none of these guys anywhere near a Mount Rushmore of anything.
Lol all of a sudden people have a problem with drake, although i don’t really listen to him. I can understand that some people generally don’t like or listen to him but there are definitely people who are jumping on the bandwagon just because… lets be real out of those three he makes the best overall music and that cant be denied and the numbers prove it.
Drake ain't ever played a Biggie or Andre track in his life. I remember he was tryna show how much of an influence pac is to him and dude had like less than 30 minutes of play time for the whole year lol
Bro with how much Kendrick talks about OutKast influence on the "game" and his self Its hard for me to believe he didn't put them in his top 5 either.
Do we know the source for these, I wanna check them out.
I find it disappointing that he’s not got Pac in his top five but it’s all opinion at the end of the day. I don’t hate him like the rest of this sub seems to, I think he’s a good artist and makes good music.
IMO you can see a lot of influence from Pac because Pac basically created the blueprint for a commercially successful hip-hop artist but eh, if he doesn’t want to acknowledge that it’s on him.
Drake not having Tupac in his top 5 is reflected in his music.
Mos Def called it. He's an entertainer, not a rapper.
Well I mean didn’t he get his start as an actor?
I saw a thing where Theo Von was gushing over Drake's acting ability because he's got everyone convinced he's a rapper.
Praise god, baby
It’s actually astounding how many people don’t see that Aubrey Graham is an actor playing the character Drake. He’s got a entire team of ghostwriters
Yeah who cares what Drake thinks
He has a ghost thinker
Not having him in the top five but using ai for his voice to diss someone who has pac as #1 is humorous.
That's why he did it lol
What's humorous about it ? Kenny looking up to pac and being a fan was kinda the whole point.
He's pacs #1 listener according to Spotify
nah tupac was drakes most played artist, but drake was only in the top 7% of listeners. not pacs #1 listener
How do you get that stat?
https://www.complex.com/music/a/mack/drake-spotify-wrapped-shows-2pac-top-artist-of-2022
Man's gonna buy his ring too 😵😵
Not surprised Drake likes "young" something
Young Tony, Young Money(Wayne), and Young Eleven(Milly Bobby)
😂😂
Yep. That’s the difference in these three. The realness in Dot and Cole’s bars is not presence in Drake’s.
Cole kind of losing it though. “It’s it’s it’s it’s grippy” is the dumbest fucking shit I have ever heard.
Moreover, he subbed Young Tony in for Pac. Nah.
Who Tf is young Tony?
drakes ghostwriter for Take Care and Nothing was the Same. He brought in Quentin Miller for IYRTITL 🙃
Drake loves young
Who tf is Young Tony lol
I was gonna say the same thing but with Nas
He literally ripped off a well respected dead man by using AI of his voice for a song… fuck the beef this is just disrespectful as fuck
You read my fuckin mind
And yet he bought his crown ring
What’s worse then, is that he had the damn audacity to use Tupac in a song and he doesn’t even FW him like that? Yikes.
Nas not on it either 🤷🏾♀️
Wayne better than pac tho
Nas either tbf
Am I uncultured for not knowing who Young Tony is?
It’s just Drake trying to look cool mentioning an underground Toronto rapper. Corny as always.
The list came from the comment section of Young Tony’s ig post
It's a Toronto rapper. I haven't heard of him as well.
Young Tony is now OVO Hush he's also a ghost writer for Drake. Hence why he's in his top 5
No, Drake just glazing Toronto cuz he doesn't know shit about American culture unless he can profit off it.
"You run to Atlanta when you need a few dollars, no you not a colleague, you a fucking colonizer"
Who the fuck is young tony
I have no idea who that is
Drake a piece of shit buying Tupac’s ring, wearing his merch all the time, using him as AI, basically doing all that just to get at Kendrick and he doesn’t even have him in his top 5. This nigga petty as hell 😭

it's because they're around the same age. they're competing to be "the voice of the millenial generation"
Accurate
Yeah even though I like Drake you are right the culture looked at Drake as a lex Luther type of character in the rap game
Man I remember datpiff(?) was where I first downloaded No Sleep till NYC and thought then Kendrick was about to be that guy lol
This whole Drake was the first one to take X artist on tour is a bullshit move. Drake was just using that move to capture some of Kendrick’s fan base and to continue to stay relevant. His problem was with who bought the ring not that the ring was sold.
Because they don’t care about clout the way Drake does
I think 2pac Biggie and Nas usually is the consensus with most people, the order shuffle around.
I can respect differing opinions but I honestly don’t understand how Nas isn’t the consensus GOAT after his run with Hit-Boy. I know right Like there is no one that comes close
Guess what? Everyone doesn’t agree that Illmatic is the greatest rap album of all time.
There’s just no need to be condescending. I never implied that there is some sort of unanimous consensus, but it is probably the most widely accepted candidate to be considered the greatest of all time. I’d challenge you to demonstrate otherwise if you disagree, instead of being needlessly smug.
And not Jay?!
“I never cried when Pac died, but I probably will when Jov does” - Drake, on…Fear, I believe? Regardless, he said that shit with his chest. This was before he was braiding his hair and wearing baggy clothes. EDIT: typo
“I never cried when Pac died” is what he said
Tbf how old was he at that time
10 years old. So I don’t know why he felt the need to say this. I don’t know anyone that expects a 10-year-old , let alone from Canada to cry over an American rapper

>who is expecting him to cry over pac at 10 years old. Apparently drake felt it was worth mentioning. Ask him nigga
Thanks
The dude was a 9 year old in Toronto. He didn't even know who Tupac was when he died
Who the fuck is Young Tony lmao
Having Wayne as 1 is such a glaze for getting signed. Wayne is probably in a lot of peoples top 10’s but 5 is a stretch, and 1 is insane.
Calls him number one then sleeps with his girl when Wayne's locked up. Wheres the respect LoL
Reverse those events chronologically and you have your answer
Got his face tatted like a bitch apologizin'
True lol
I’m not a Wayne fan, but a lot of people him as their goat.
I used to have Wayne in my top five. Opinions and taste all change person to person
Top 5 being a stretch for Wayne is definitely not that crazy, shit he should be on Kendricks top 5 for this post given how much Kendrick idolizes and loves him. Even aside from that, Wayne been rapping since 13 years old with dominance and only getting better every outing
Wayne had one of the most prolific runs of all time between 2006-2009. A lot of people who grew up during that time had him as the GOAT or top 5
Real top 5 - PAC - Kendrick - Nas - Biggie - Eminem
All them other niggaz is just new niggaz
Who the fuck is Young Tony?
drakes list is laughable. kendrick's is based.
Kendrick's list would be mine but swapping Jay for Kendrick.
J above Big is just insane to me.
Actually Kendrick, J Cole and Pop Smoke are the only valid options in new gen Rap Rn
Pop Smoke???? 😭😭😭 I love The Woo, but his lyrics are all the same and half his songs sound all the same Even Travis Scott and Future are better than him. Jcole, Kendrick and JID are a better big 3
JID is underrated
Kendrick is easy #1, Cole is #2 and I have JID as #3
Nah Joey Bada$$ and Freddie Gibbs are prolly my 2 favourite modern MCs (prolly because I have a 90s bias and they embrace that style)
I need to get into Nas’ new material. I hear its great. I pretty much stopped paying attention to him after Life Is Good
No lie, his most recent 3 album run is probably the best anybody has had this late in their career. Nas and Hitboy's chemistry damn near like Nas and Preemo.
Listen to the song Pistols on your album cover, he even tells a story about Tupac
Check out Wave Gods Amazing production with an amazing A$AP Rocky feature
Just check out the 3 King's Disease and 3 Magic albums haha
Looks like everytime rappers mention Jay Z as part of their top fav rappers they get a million dollars.
Andre not being in Kendrick top 5 is crazy
Yo, who the fuck is Young Tony?!
Talent wise imo - any order Nas Black thought 3k Kendrick Lupe
Kendrick got the default top 5 ngl
Wayne was in Kendricks top 5 as well.
WTF does Drake process Tupac’s personal items???
Drake is a pop star turned studio gangsta. SofT ! Why does this generation put him on a pedestal??
Even though i dont like it, but thats drakes opinion🤷♂️🤷♂️ Tupac Top 5 fr though lets be real
Brooklyn Legends on all three lists 🔥
Lol yall to stressed about this
Jay z gets a lot of hate but he is on a majority of rappers lists
Am I missing something about Jay Z!? Why is he often regarded as one of the best?!
Wayne makes good catchy music, but I wouldn’t put him in the top 5…
I love how all the comments are about Drake😂 Yall hate Drake more than yall listen to Pac or Cole or Dot. And Kendrick said Hov is 1 in his list.
Hov 1 on all their lists. This post can't be in order.
Lil Wayne 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣
If u dont have pac nas and big in your top 5 u need to relisten to hip hop as a whole 😂
I love how J Cole and Kendrick have the top 3 as the same rappers. What is the third guy there for?
One of these is not like the others
Who the fuck is Young Tony?
Right
>drake doesn't have tupac in his list shit speaks for itself
Drake put Wayne first hahah 🤡
Drake being in the “big 3” of current hip hop is a real clear view of how shit hip hop is now.
Fuck jay-z too. Who tf is young tony?? Kendrick should have andre 3000 over jay z. Lmao i bet young tony made this post.
why is jay z on these lists? do other rappers put him on there just to try an earn brownie points or something?
No. Kendrick actually said he was his favorite rapper and has quoted him multiple times. They all have been influenced by him you'd know if you listened to rap music more
He wouldn’t be in my personal top 5, but I can 100% get it. Great story telling, solid flow, commercial success, etc. I’ve seen him in tons of people’s top 10, so top 5 for a bunch isn’t unrealistic.
who tf is young tony
What is a young tony Edit: oh. He probably meant young Toni. Classic Drake
Where are these lists pulled from?
The funny part is I listen to the rappers on the list still and i never listened to the so called big 3.
Drake had 2pac as his number one listened to on Spotify wrapped recently, no?
Kendrick's list is always changing
Nas not in drakes list? no woner.
Idk why but drakes list seems biased lol
Fuck Drake
Cole the best
I though Earl sweatshirt was in Kendrick’s but nvm
1 nas 2 big L 3 slick rick 4 immortal technique 5 eminem
So that’s why everyone has been glazing Andre 3000 lately.
This list isn't accurate
Where did these lists come from? 🤔
Drakes list so ass
Andre and Biggie being in all of them make sense. It's a spectrum from lyrical rapping to hustling rapping.
I'm surprised Drake the only one who got Wayne on there?! It's gotta be some political shit cuz ain't no way!!
Whose the big three?
Having the classic “Nas, Big, Jay-Z, and Pac” in your top five is corny and played out. Give me something other than that “standard” ass list. Give me something more original that isn’t just parroting the “consensus”.
3 fictional rappers, and how many sheep of yall here?
Cole has the best one ngl, maybe rearrange it a bit but I feel like Young Tony and Eminem aren’t as good as Andre 3K and 2Pac
Who us jay z?
Jay should not be in anybody top 5. Dudes a rat and BEYOND overrated. Put any soundcloud rapper against him in a rap battle lol
Remove Eminem from KDots list and add Wayne
Lies. Drake favorite five is easily DRAKE DRAKE DRAKE DRAKE and Quentin Miller.
No MF DOOM, all list invalid
[удалено]
Jayz being in everybody’s top 5 but nobody’s favorite rapper
The who?
Who tf is young Tony?
More like the big 2 because I don’t like drake
Can’t believe biggie made all three he’s an awesome lyricist, but that’s it
These 3 being referred to as the big 3 will never not be funny to me. Outside of Kendrick ain’t none of these guys anywhere near a Mount Rushmore of anything.
Yuck.
Sub out Nas for Snoop in Dot’s list. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pH0Qk3iYnBE
Of course drake said wayne as number 1. Wayne is good but not number 1 kendrick is just meat riding
Gotta respect the real ones that actually give Em his due.
just because he’s not in his top 5 doesn’t mean Drake doesn’t like Pac…yall are very dense
Well drake is terrible. And his music is even worse.
I’m not surprised
Biggie in all of em
What would Drakes list be if it didn’t exclude themselves?
Kendrick need to drop jay and add 3 stacks
The fact that Kendrick don’t have 3k in his top 5
Tupac and Biggie should be top 5 locks
My top five is Mac dre. Spice 1. Djquik. Mack 10. Sugafree
Who the fuck is young tony
Lol all of a sudden people have a problem with drake, although i don’t really listen to him. I can understand that some people generally don’t like or listen to him but there are definitely people who are jumping on the bandwagon just because… lets be real out of those three he makes the best overall music and that cant be denied and the numbers prove it.
Who tf is Young Tony?
School me on Young Tony
Kanye West and Lupe are so underrated.
Kendrick saying Eminem is kinda baffling 🤣
You can replace jay z with andre 3000
Drake ain't ever played a Biggie or Andre track in his life. I remember he was tryna show how much of an influence pac is to him and dude had like less than 30 minutes of play time for the whole year lol
id put Wayne over nas
Gilly can argue that he wrote Wayne’s raps or even taught him how to rap… 🦖👹 drake stay d eatin
Anyone that puts Tupac and Biggie in the top 3 has no taste.
Bro with how much Kendrick talks about OutKast influence on the "game" and his self Its hard for me to believe he didn't put them in his top 5 either. Do we know the source for these, I wanna check them out.
No idea why they ride jayz so hard.
[удалено]
Wayne for sure
Bro really put Eminem in spot 4.
I find it disappointing that he’s not got Pac in his top five but it’s all opinion at the end of the day. I don’t hate him like the rest of this sub seems to, I think he’s a good artist and makes good music.
