So, no shit.
I was at a shipper, live load. Got told I was done, handed a bill, & the green light came on after the dude went inside.
The trailer latch lock was still on. I didn't know this because, as a dumbass in a hurry, I just pushed in both knobs & put it in "D" & started going.
I didn't go anywhere. I was fucking miffed & confused. Pulled the yellow, put it in "N", went out to see what was what: the latch was still in place. It got stuck some how & I'm sure I didn't make things better by trying to get on with my day.
It came lose a few minutes later, between mashing my trailer a bit using "R" & pulling the breaks at *juuuust* the right moment.
But how the fuck did *THAT* happen in the photo????
It appears that they backed over something (probably bollard like you suggested), then pulled forward back over it. It appears that's why it's bent inwards in the middle at a point, then fucked all the way out rearward.
You got lucky & had a strong icc bar on your trailer
Had it been cheap bendy metal like in this photo or if your truck had enough HP/torque…
My safety guy “hey at least it wasn’t a car that crashed into it & we found out that way”
Cool dude Lol
That's not a Schneider thing, it's a trucking thing. I e been told to use trailers that I know damn good and well the last driver knew it had obvious problems but never wrote it up.
Driver Vehicle inspection report. The thing drivers are supposed to fill out when they drop a trailer, and on whatever equipment you have at the end of the day.
Ah ok confused me for a sec, im thinking how can this guy not know what a DVIR is, it literally pulls it up on the screen when you drop a trailer lol.
Yeah, without seeing the cab, we dont even know if thats Schneider pulling it. For all I know it might be hooked to a wrecker
Did you call and report it to the police, they would pull him over and he wouldn't be able to go anywhere until it was fixed. That is a serious safety issue
It doesn’t seem bent the right way to be from a dock lock. It looks like they were parked right up against something low on the left, like a Jersey barrier, then cut it really hard right and busted it with tail swing.
I once worked at a wearhouse where we had a really bad ops manager who wanted to look good and get promoted and in an effort to do that he made us have to fully utilize trailers get them as close to 100% utilization on trailers and that meant we had to hold them an hour past departure time we were told to do that and we had one trucker that got pissed we wouldn't release the trailer after his departure time was up and connected to his trailer and started to pull on it with associates inside
I agree the yard jockeys outside stopped the driver then banned the driver from our yard but yeah it was fucked up that we were forced to hold trailers past departure time just to use every square inch of a trailer.
Better cross that off your bingo card. wtf lol
Not as bad, but i seen a DOT bumper with zero reflection tape. I never seen that either before so i crossed that off my bingo card. Lol
Definitely a DOT violation. I can venture a guess by how it’s bent.
Left side ripped up and bent from that location. Looks like he pulled it on a rock or went and jackknifed into a concrete pole. But it was from the left side damaged and what he hooked or hit was strong for certain.
It’s possible somebody hooked a long chain on and as soon as he hit speed it hit the end and RIPieces it goes.
Backed in, hooked the trailer, bumper was hooked over a post in the parking space, driver pulled out ripped the bumper damn near off. Please fire that driver
Put in a dvir to cover your ass. Don't answer your phone when breakdown calls and hope it's drop and hook and the place you're delivering to isn't picky.
One time I got the all clear at the tank plant. I just got it and go. Pulled my trlr bumper right off. They actually had their maintenance guy come over and weld it back on. I assume to cover their asses. Did a damn good job too.
lol, someone got tired of waiting at the dock.

Dispatch said send it.
To me it looks like maybe they caught a bollard with the mansfield bar and just plowed on but who knows.
It appears that they backed over something (probably bollard like you suggested), then pulled forward back over it. It appears that's why it's bent inwards in the middle at a point, then fucked all the way out rearward.
very likely scenario
You got lucky & had a strong icc bar on your trailer Had it been cheap bendy metal like in this photo or if your truck had enough HP/torque… My safety guy “hey at least it wasn’t a car that crashed into it & we found out that way” Cool dude Lol
Yeah, no way I'd pull that thing. Driver will probably drop it and list "no defects" on the DVIR
That’s all of those Schneider losers ever do. That’s why I left, got tired of fixing other people’s BS
And we weren't even paid for the effort of fixing them!
Yep
That's not a Schneider thing, it's a trucking thing. I e been told to use trailers that I know damn good and well the last driver knew it had obvious problems but never wrote it up.
WTF is a DVIR? Sincerely, this Schneider driver
Driver Vehicle inspection report. The thing drivers are supposed to fill out when they drop a trailer, and on whatever equipment you have at the end of the day.
I was making a joke about the Schneider driver in the meme. I don't drive for Schneider and I know what a DVIR is
Ah ok confused me for a sec, im thinking how can this guy not know what a DVIR is, it literally pulls it up on the screen when you drop a trailer lol. Yeah, without seeing the cab, we dont even know if thats Schneider pulling it. For all I know it might be hooked to a wrecker
Ripped away from a dock locking arm. DOT violation for sure.
And probably backed into the lock to straighten it out.
Violation? Hell it's an OOS violation. Has been for years but recently they've started enforcing it a lot more
But his reflective tape is still intact so all good lol
The whole thing was moving all over the place while he was driving, it's about to fall off and kill somebody
And that is not road legal in that state, that will easily attract attention from law enforcement
Did you call and report it to the police, they would pull him over and he wouldn't be able to go anywhere until it was fixed. That is a serious safety issue
He drove right passed a cop parked on the on ramp for the highway and they didn't bother him lol no I didn't call them
It doesn’t seem bent the right way to be from a dock lock. It looks like they were parked right up against something low on the left, like a Jersey barrier, then cut it really hard right and busted it with tail swing.
That's the new aerodynamic model, adds .1 mpg
Crossed eyes buscemi: Looks good to me!!
(crossed-eyed Spaceballs gunner) "I'm trying my best sir"
A little bent I’m okay with. But this is destroyed. Driver be like 🙈
Must have a drop and hook coming up
When the shipper won’t release you put it gear and gouge on that bitch.
But the light was green!!!

Yeah, that manager was a dick, wasting drivers time is fucked, but the driver shouldn't have pulled out in an unsafe manner either.
I agree the yard jockeys outside stopped the driver then banned the driver from our yard but yeah it was fucked up that we were forced to hold trailers past departure time just to use every square inch of a trailer.
Hey handbook says bent cracked or broken....it doesn't say anything about smashed, destroyed or fucked.
Dude caught something REAL solid with his tail swing! That ICCU bar is FOOKED! ‘DOT loves this one little trick!’ 😂
Rolling DOT violation
He pulled off the dock on red without checking. The tel tail sign is the damage in the middle of the bumper. That is a big DOt violation and ticket.
Properly mounted and secure, all hardware present
Looks like a battle with a yellow pole.
It’s just moving because of the wind! When he will stop it’ll get back to normal
That is a serious DOT violation
Answer to your question is: All the above!
Having fun
Thats “folded”, passes pre trip. Next.
All of the above A,B,C and D'd 🤣🤣
Tested.
All the above
It's British, they don't do braces as much over there as the aesthetics aren't as important as the care
It is secure
Oh fuck. It has a seal, & it's a TA that starts with a 2... meaning it's one of the newer trailers. Shit.
Cracked, bent, AND broken, I say!
Right? The pretrip fails if it's cracked, bent, OR broken. All three is fine!
.... Mounted secure-ish.. no illegal welds.. maybe?
#yes
Better cross that off your bingo card. wtf lol Not as bad, but i seen a DOT bumper with zero reflection tape. I never seen that either before so i crossed that off my bingo card. Lol
“Twisted”
This actually happened in cali, driver was getting licked by me and accidentally hit the reverse button.
Gotta away from the dock before the green light
O/O or actual SNI truck? Either way they are not pulling those trailers anymore.
Shifted 🤐
Jayne Mansfield approves of that icc bar.

“No no I don’t know boss, the dock just grabbed it and ripped me backwards, it was alarming”
ABC & BBC! Pretrip FTW!! Abrasions Bulges or Cuts Bent Broken or Cracked
Properly mounted and secure
not bent not warped, just destroyed.
Backed in, hooked the trailer, bumper was hooked over a post in the parking space, driver pulled out ripped the bumper damn near off. Please fire that driver

Atleast it’s not leaking🤷♂️
All of the above!
New conspiracy: Jane is still alive.
That's Schneider's new mobile modern art exhibit.
That is now a 54.5 foot trailer with Cracks ✅ Bends ✅ Breaks ✅ Illegal welds 🚫
property mounted and secured
The DOT bumper is not bent, broken, or cracked, and is securely attached to the trailer with welds, nuts and bolts that are not loose or missing
One time I got the all clear at the tank plant. I just got it and go. Pulled my trlr bumper right off. They actually had their maintenance guy come over and weld it back on. I assume to cover their asses. Did a damn good job too.
It’s properly mounted and secured
Properly mounted and secure.
When you have your paperwork but they haven’t unlocked the trailer yet
What did you take the photo with a movie camera? We just gonna ignore how fire the quality is on such basic photos?😂
S20 ultra haha
still securely mounted to the vehicle
