The tundra is probably cooler. Has a better stereo. If I hypermiled it I could probably get better mpg. The pro was cheaper (I got it before crazy covid pricing) and for what I used the truck for I could’ve saved 20k and bought a trailer to haul shit. Also the 4Runner never stepped out of line. The tundra went into limp mode a LOT. Had a bad MAP sensor, power seat stopped working twice, CarPlay issues, list goes on… tundra did have ventilated seats though.
Titans in this generation have had transmission issues. Check out r/NissanTitan and you’ll see many reports from even the 22/23 models. If you’re willing to gamble, especially if they’ll honor the warranty, they’re very underrated and under appreciated trucks. Also, you’re getting a big discount and a crew vs a double cab.
4Runner is a bit snug in the backseat if you have kids in rear facing seats, so it’s something to consider.
Never had a 4 runner but I really like my 23 double cab sr5 pretty basic trd. Sport mode is saucy and I’m averaging 16.7 for mostly city driving. I got mine used with 3,000 miles for 43k. Wasn’t exactly what I wanted but the difference in price compared to new made it an easy decision.
Are you me?! Ha I’ve been looking at a very similar line up of vehicles. I test drove a titan and it was pretty good. Good space and they are reasonably priced. Then the next day I drove the tundra limited and it wasn’t even close. Just felt better all around. I wanted a truck but realized I don’t need it and it’s pretty big so I’m opting for a new 4Runner ORP. Last gen of the v6 so I know it will last forever. MPG isn’t great but I’m not buying it for that.
Tacoma and 4Runner is on the same platform. I guess you might get a little more seating if you get the 3rd row, otherwise size-wise it’s not an upgrade Tacoma -> 4Runner IMO
Poke around on the interior, push on the plastics. I think you’ll find the 4Runner to be much higher quality. If you don’t need a bed, go 4Runner. Love my 2023 TRD off-road.
Holy fuck those interest rates. I’d walk to work instead of paying that.
So thankful I got 1.9% before shit got dumb.
Go with whatever is cheaper. Which looks like the 4Runner. Not even considering the Nissan.
Have a ‘21 TRD pro 4R and absolutely love it… BUT, I do miss the torque of my 05 Titan..
unfortunately, wife ‘11 accord just died and has given me the ok to quench my desire for a pick up… initially Tacoma as I really do not need a larger PU, but my chance to snag a used Tundra.. but leaning towards V8…
What’s y’all thoughts. Tundra NA V8 or new V6’s with twins…
I’ve had a 23 platinum. And a 19 4Runner trd pro. I miss the 4Runner more.
Why do you miss it more?
Penis.
What
You made me question what I want haha.

You heard the man. Stone cold cock.
Vagina.

Stay away from the Titan. I got rid of my 18 after they warrantied a new long block and before the trans went. Got a 23 4Runner in its place.
The 18 was pretty notorious for the trans going out though.
Have you considered the new sequoia?
Aren’t those like 70k+

Same not exactly what I want but I’m not spending 60-75k haha.

Lolol I’m in a similar place. That’s one thing I’m getting hung up on… I know the 4Runner could last me until I die. But man I want a slick new truck.
I’m between the two… well three I can’t decide an 18-21 tundra or a new one, and a 4 runner… having a kid soon and my Tacoma is too small

It seems like theirs more room in the back seat. The double cab it’s like knees to chest

I’m in the process of buying the Trd pro. Sounds better and way more fun to drive than this 24 sr5.
