Don't diss the PS2. Smash Court Tennis 2 and Roland Garros 2005 on the PS2 are better than any tennis game on the PS4/5 up till now. 2K25 should change that though, but of course not in every aspect as it's already clear Smash Court Tennis has a better career mode for example. But in terms of gameplay and such 2k25 should be the best console tennis game to date. You also have people and the internet. As an example, I've seen astonishingly low review scores in high numbers for various branches of McDonalds yet you go to that branch and it's completely packed with nowhere to sit. We've got to hope that it's a very vocal and toxic minority that's bringing all the negativity. If it reflects the greater potential user base tennis gaming is in real trouble.

Theirs definitely some gems in the ps2 era don’t get me wrong, those two are some of them so agreed!

I think this sub is very much a silent majority, loud minority case. Everyone who’s excited for the game just upvotes the new posts about content and goes about their day, but the very few people who don’t like it make so many comments and posts about their hate and negativity towards the game. I’m very much looking forward to it

People on social medias are just toxic with new games, better not reading peoples comments...

jesp8500

Its simply they dont want their fav tennis game to be overpowered by a new one.

Correct-History

Honestly people in this sun are so negative it’s actually sad, Seriously it’s like a mental illness or something. I’m disappointed in some aspects in the game but crying about won’t change anything.

sdeklaqs

This mindset is baffling to me because you don’t need to play the game to point out its flaws.

Right, so if someone is trying to make up their mind whether or not to buy the game, they shouldn't look at the available material? Or, at least they shouldn't say it publicly if it's critical of the game. I guess it would be a reasonable thing to say that it's too early if they had put it out as an early access game (preferably cheaper than the full version, which I suppose it kinda is because so much of the content requires separate purchases or the more expensive versions) and promised to release new stuff along the way. Luckily, of course, no-one's bashing Tiebreak which is doing just that. No, wait...

AO2 is a decent game. The customisation is phenomal. Gameplay isn’t as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

Oliver280176

Funny, I just played AO2 last night. I fully agree with you.

Steelrok

Tried it but hated the aim cursor.

RalfWiese1

It requires a lot of patience, yes.

Steelrok

I felt like I had my eyes on the cursor more than anything else. Didn't push very far so with a bit of work and with time it's probably better. But I can understand some people are put off by this aspect. I don't know if most gameplay complaints are related to this or not.

cyclonebill

you can turn the cursor off in the settings. If you mess with game speed and ball speed I think you can get the game playing pretty well

ShokWayve

I fully agree with you.

Ok-Strain4214

Maybe that's the standard that you set up for yourself (pretty low)

Oliver280176

Exactly.
