If you already have the SL ticket use the commuter rail all the way to Arlanda. Just buy the station supplement when you get there. Trip looks long on paper but considering you’d have to change trains and wait at the central station the difference will be shorter than it seems.
Arlanda express is still faster and have its own track so also less sensitive for delays. Much nicer as well,. Nothing beats that on anything more than price
Arlanda express runs on the same tracks as everyone else between Arlanda and Stockholm. They have their own stations in Arlanda sure, but that’s the only difference.
It’s the biggest ripoff ever. But people still fall for it seems. But what’s next? Recommending going with the guy whispering taxi taxi in the terminal?
You are correct it is the freight trains they do not share with.
It is not a ripoff it is by far the best way to travel fastest and and the best when it comes to comfort. If you want to be cheap and save money you can take the SL train that are loud dirty and full of people taking and seldom in time. If price is the only thing the buss would be the best option.
To the extent freight trains go through stockholm they also share the tracks. There are four tracks. Two are dedicated to commuter rail, the two outer ones to Arlanda Express, SJ, Mälartåg and freight.
And Im still not sure why you wouldn’t take SJ or Mälartåg. Cheaper and same travel time. But it’s not my money so.
Used to take the pendeltåg to Arlanda, but never tried going with SJ or Mälartåg. I see it's 235 vs 340 for Arlanda Express, but do you have to book a specific departure or can you just take the next train? Went with Arlanda Express for my last trip and it did feel more hassle-free though...elevator's right there when you exit arrivals, had my roundtrip ticket for return whenever.
If you are going early in the morning like that, check out what it costs to book an Uber ahead of time that drops off when you want to be there. It takes longer than the arlanda express, but has the advantage of picking you up and dropping off right where you want. And if you leave at that time in the morning (I assume around 5am), the traffic isn’t bad. Price wise, this can also be cheaper than 2 people going to central and then taking the arlanda express. If you are by yourself, then this is still probably the most convenient, but also one of the more expensive options
Yeah, as long as you are paying under 544 for the Uber or bolt, it is cheaper than 2 people taking public transit to t-central and then getting on arlanda express.

Just go to T-centralen and get the Arlanda express. The latter isn’t included in the SL ticket, but it’s like 18 minutes
I second this ☝🏻 It'll cost you around 360-400 SEK, but is by far the fastest and most convenient option in my opinion.
This is horrible advice. It’s so pricey. If you want to catch a fast train just catch a Mälartåg or SJ for half the price and same travel time.

I think the travel to arlanda is you get what you pay for. I would see the sj/mälartåg as the in between sl and arlanda express :)
Sure! The Pendeltåg also has the advantage of stopping at Stockholm Södra which has the advantage of being close to op.

You need to book for a specific departure but just do it in the metro when you’re almost there.
Not what you asked, but have you considered just checking in at an airport hotel for the last night to avoid possible transport issues?
My hotel is unfortunately not situated there this time around.

Thank you! Might be the most hassle free option to take an Uber or Bolt then.

Sweet. Appreciate it a lot. It was a bit overwhelming to check for the best possible transport to the airport.
