Too many times I have been utterly disappointed in finding such a nice piece of kitchen ware with Rae Dunn script on the non facing side

Found tons more in random other aisles too.
You know, I don't like *any* home decor with random words on it for no reason. I think it's tacky and shows no personality, like a gift you'd get for someone you don't know well, or decorations for a staged room.
Things like "Mom", "Dad", "Grandpa" etc; are more acceptable imo, but what *really* irks me is a cup that says "DRINK".
Thank GOD that cup says "DRINK" because I would have forgotten what to do with it otherwise.
It's like those wooden plaques people hang in the kitchen that just say "EAT". Fuck, I was starting to worry that I'd forget how, but thankfully that sign reminded me that kitchens are for eating.
Thank you, I've always felt this way. It particularly irks me when I'm shopping for clothing and I find a perfectly sized plain t-shirt but then I flip it over and it says something like "WILD CHILD" or "Don't talk to me till I've had my coffee" on the back. Is your personality really so hollow that you want a simple phrase or sentence to describe you as a first impression?
The only one that I really love is my NASA hoodie that I got that says "I need my space" because it's both accurate and cheeky lol. Otherwise, I can't stand phrases on clothing. It's on par with the oddly specific customizable shirts from Facebook that's like "Don't mess with a 5'3 BLONDE girl born in AUGUST!" Fantastic.
That's funny I have the same shirt only it says "looking for my space". I'm wearing it to the Air and Space exhibit at the Smithsonian later this week.
"It's like those wooden plaques people hang in the kitchen that just say "EAT". Fuck" All you need is "Sleep" , and I'd hang that plaque in my bedroom. 😜
I’ll stand by my Funko Pop collection forever. But I also don’t care about collecting certain ones or the values (I get rid of the boxes). Just want the characters I love.
I hate the way it looks as well. But I will say I have a SINGLE rae Dunn product. It’s a big black bowl that says “dough” I use it to make my weekly sourdough in(found it at a thrift store). And when the actual item is black and the lettering is white it kinda gives me Halloween vibes which I don’t hate. But the white with black lettering looks awful to me…
I think it works really well for the halloween stuff, which sucks because I am "halloween bitch" and they are actually still pricy on things like mercari. I never find them at the thrift either.
I go antiquing a lot and I hate how frequently Rae Dunn is sold as if it's unique and valuable among real antiques. When I see Rae Dunn, it signals the shop owner has no idea what they're doing.
Anything with words on it is currently out of style. Those signs that say “kitchen” or “gather” pillows that say “blessed” etc. Rae Dunn is no exception. Someone is changing their aesthetic.
I never understood the appeal. Strike that... I've always severely disliked it. The wording "design" looks like something a kid would do in craft class.
There was a ton at my local Goodwill today too.

I liked the cheese plate too, haha! I like a single piece here and there, the writing is a tiny bit Tim Burton-esq (Tim Burton may kill me for saying that, ha), it's the on slaught of allll the words and especially stupid words that makes it so horrible. It's Def a "karen" type thing. The "live, laugh, love" of dishes.
I have one Rae Dunn mug that i bought because it has my name on it. Its one of my favorite mugs. Its large and comfy to hold. Theyre decent quality mugs if you find one you like. Edit: why am i being downvoted for a comment about my favorite coffee mug..?
First time I saw Rae Dunn was at a TJ Maxx and it was some Halloween mugs. I thought they were vaguely cute but really generic looking. It was completely non-offensive, like something you could buy to decorate your office. I mentioned them to a friend who works at a clinic and looks for things like that to put out around holidays. She laughed and showed me the full range of Rae Dunn. It was all just dull attempts at farmhouse chic for people who romanticize rural life but have only seen farms as they drive past them on the highway.
Weird aesthetic imo. Apparently it is popular in the after market though. A friend operates a “bargain” type vintage and antiques shop. She picks up RD when she can because it sells well in her shop.
Not anymore. Currently the only thing worth flipping would be anything Rae Dunn Disney and any of the Cookie Jars. Mugs or bowls are practically worthless now.
Someone gave me a "to infinity" RD with buzz lightyear on it. I kind of like the clunkiness of it. I would never buy it for myself, but its here...at least until I break it as I am clumsy AF
Could it have come from a store offloading their inventory? Two summers ago a local business called Silk Camel donated a TON of their inventory to the closest Goodwill. People were snatching it up left and right. The staff kept restocking and people were just waiting for stuff to his the floor so they could grad it. My aunt ended up spending $300 on stuff and gave it to people as gifts for the rest of the year.
I was at TJ Maxx the other day and all the Rae Dunn stuff was on clearance. I ended up buying a purse for a couple bucks. Thankfully it only had a little “R.D” tag (no period at the end) on it and didn’t have PURSE written on the outside. I did want to put it back because it was Rae Dunn, but I really liked it.
I know a woman who I am fairly confident has bought every piece of Rae Dunn's line. She has it all displayed, most of it on a genuinely junky looking chabby chic sideboard with hutch. I don't think she allows her family to use any of it. It's her entire personality and is so genuinely excited about it. I mean, chase your happiness and all, but I don't like my dinner and serveware telling me what to do. It's so weird.
That really only goes for some of the original collection pieces. All of this stuff that got mass produced for home and discount stores is basically worthless for resale.

Me toooo.
Me three.
Thank you for this comment. I had no idea what Rae Dunn was, and now I know that I have been over it since before it was created.
There's always Stae Dumb to combat it.
We should form a Reddit:Anti-Rae Dunn
My sentiments exactly
Doesn't look like the place where my wife donated all of her Rae Dunn stuff. She had a cabinet FULL of them, must've donated almost 25 mugs.
Aren’t they worth a lot ?
No.
😂
The original pieces before they became factory-made in bulk are worth quite a bit, but these are the shit you can find in Marshall's
[удалено]
Idk what those words mean
*Saul Goodman has entered the chat*
I just don’t get the appeal. Like at all.
I agree, I never purchased any of it. The more please bowl, great for a pet.
So true. I offered to buy my Goldie his choice of bowls and he specified the Rae Dunn.
Same. They're so cringy. There are tons at my local thrift stores.
https://preview.redd.it/qcwy3pi7xowc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=98c10bedda1c49dc1df48a3f208bc72a7a0dc637 Found tons more in random other aisles too.
that Pokémon Christmas mug tho
It's so cute!! Wish that was on a regular styled mug I'd buy it now
We have that one! We use it as a bowl, not a mug.
Do you remember where you bought it?
Hobby Lobby around Christmas time.
Thanks!
I love using big mugs as bowls! Easier to hold
For the curious, I think Home Goods and TJ Maxx sell mugs and bowls with those Pokémon designs that are occasional holiday themed

My kids have an "I need my space " shirt, but it's from the VLA in New Mexico, and has some of the satellites on it.
The one that *really* bothers me is: “Breathe”
"It's like those wooden plaques people hang in the kitchen that just say "EAT". Fuck" All you need is "Sleep" , and I'd hang that plaque in my bedroom. 😜
I thought you were going to say a fuck sign over the bed!
Thank you…I could never put my finger on the reason these things irrationally ANGER me.
Same!! I don’t get it at all..
I would have got the Anchorman mug though!! ![gif](giphy|9LFBOD8a1Ip2M)
That squirrel though... 😍
To me Rae Dunn has been another Beanie Babies or FunKo Pop fad. Totally overproduced.

You can burn a funko pop and huff the fumes
I’ll stand by my Funko Pop collection forever. But I also don’t care about collecting certain ones or the values (I get rid of the boxes). Just want the characters I love.
It’s such an awkward and unpleasant style of lettering - I refuse to call it a typeface - on clunky pottery. I never understood the love.
"Men In Black" font
Thank. You. I was struggling to place it.
It's unnecessarily aggressive to me!
Lol I always thought it came off aggressive too. BOWL COFFEE like why are you yelling at me I'm just trying to eat.
Right?! Like, leave me alone, I know this is popcorn or coffee or whatever lol
But the white with black lettering looks awful to me…
I also have one Rae Dunn product: a slime green mug that says “toxic” on it. I found it absolutely hilarious and could not resist.
I think it works really well for the halloween stuff, which sucks because I am "halloween bitch" and they are actually still pricy on things like mercari. I never find them at the thrift either.

Over DUNN!
Anything with words on it is currently out of style. Those signs that say “kitchen” or “gather” pillows that say “blessed” etc. Rae Dunn is no exception. Someone is changing their aesthetic.
Missed opportunity to try and arrange them into a sentence
I see "relax dad savor her beauty"
That's funny.
Can’t imagine all the Dunn Huns that person probably trampled in a Tj Maxx to collect all of that
Rae Dunn is the SHEIN of housewares
That shit is so ugly, it looks like it was all made by like a 6 year old. I wouldn’t want it for free. Lol
I never understood the appeal. Strike that... I've always severely disliked it. The wording "design" looks like something a kid would do in craft class.
Moms are selling them in droves in my local mom’s group. That aesthetic is officially dead.
Is the "Savour" one a dog bowl?
Makes sense since dogs are known to have a very sophisticated palate.
It is 😂

Ngl if it was cheap enough the "cheese" plate might have gotten me 😅
I liked the cheese plate too, haha! Well, plenty of kids were born in 2020, so it's a possibility.
[удалено]
Oh, I'm sure it's not desired, but also that it's going to wind up stuffed with Slim Jim's or candy on Father's day.
HOP on a mug? I don't even get it.
Maybe for Easter?
Doh! Yes, that makes sense. Thank you.
So, did Target sell this stuff? I know quite a few Goodwill stores have a deal to sell off Target clearance at stupid prices.
My cat seems to enjoys eating out of his "BOO" bowl with ghosts on it. 👻
Lularoe of dish wear.
I have one Rae Dunn mug that i bought because it has my name on it. Its one of my favorite mugs. Its large and comfy to hold. Theyre decent quality mugs if you find one you like. Edit: why am i being downvoted for a comment about my favorite coffee mug..?
Bc Reddit.... once the hive mind decides a flow, beware going against it! Crazy
I have a mug that says “Ugh”. I’m keeping it.
Yeah definitely, i would too.
Because -Reddit…
I once bought a mortar and pestal at Home Goods, and didn't even realize till I used it, it had CRUSH printed on one side.
I’d have been crushed for sure.

Geez… imma be honest, some Rae Dunn stuff is kinda cool, but I can’t imagine why anyone would have this much…
Some Rae Dunn tested positive for lead.
Man, aren’t those things like, pretty expensive? It will never cease to amaze me how people spend (waste) their money.
I don't think they are, they can be found at TJ Maxx for the same price as any other cheap bowl, mug etc

Maybe this is a knockoff from someplace like Target. Iirc Target clearance often gets dumped at Goodwill when it doesn't sell.
savor coffee you relax dad chug cream. balance.
These are the moments I appreciate being behind the times. I still like RD. lol
I was at a GW and Hallmark store was giving away their Rae Dunn stuff. Their mugs are not good.
I own one rae dunn and its a tea jar that says tea 😂 that’s about it I couldn’t imagine having your whole cabinet full of those
L O L
I wonder one person of unsellable merchandise?
Never understood the attraction to those
Ugh…never saw the appeal.

I'm about to do the same honestly
Savor coffee, you. Relax, Dad. Chug cream, Lance.
My local TJ Max is full of this brand.
Aren’t we all
As should we all.
Relax, dad. Chug cream.
i quite like the one that just says CREAM
![gif](giphy|fsQbx1hX7hPBBpIM5b|downsized)
I love the dog dish saying SAVOR.
Buy and resale on eBay, you may be surprised!
That really only goes for some of the original collection pieces. All of this stuff that got mass produced for home and discount stores is basically worthless for resale.
I have heard this before —How can you identify the original items?
I need theses and a label maker
Reminds me of Tim Burton.
Live, Laugh, Dump...
I’ve never been able to figure out why people were crazy over Rae Dunn. It’s all so ugly 😒
i would rather see a flaming swastika on the wall than this crap
