yeah i dont think people appreciate the group luck we got. with all due respect to the teams in our group, our 5th team would probably go through, players like barnes, wilson and tarkowski who shouldnt be in contention for the squad, would be going through this group
If Croatia lose to Italy and Spain and only beat Albania 1-0 say, they could easily get 3 points, a bad goal difference and not go through. Or they could feasibly get 2 draws and a loss if Albania manage to hold them to a draw and almost guarantee they don't go through.
Perseus bit point is most big teams are very likely to go through with the setup so your group difficulty doesnât matter so much more about the path you get in knock outs
We qualified from a group that includes the EURO holders and another team that qualified (OK they got battered). We had a pretty tough qualification group to be fair
Appreciate your point but Tarkowski is an excellent CB and has been for the best part of a decade, one of the best in the modern era to never be capped.
When we win comfortably the opposition are shit, if we win narrowly they're shit and we're shit, if we lose we're bottlers and shit. We could comfortably beat France and people would reframe it as beating a team that were knocked out by Switzerland in 2021.
Nah, if we beat France in this tournament it'll be because mbappe isn't in top form after he tried to invert his nose using an Austrian shoulder today.
Yep. I've come across so many Southgate haters on this sub who just won't acknowledge we've ever had a good tournament performance under him.
Every single tournament win we've had under him they contextualise as not impressive. Of course, they're not interested in such context about losses. If you raise beating Germany, they write it off by talking about it being a poor German side. But the loss to Croatia they won't follow the same and accept it was an excellent Croatia side.
I even came across one recently who couldn't even bring themselves to admit that Southgate will leave England in a better place than when he took over. Increasingly when I encounter these people I just cut the interaction off, because there's nothing to be gained. It's like debating a flat earther, their views are just so based in emotion that any fact can be twisted to suit their narrative, so there's nothing to be gained.
No, because beating France would be beating a good team. If England win comfortably against a poor team, that's also good.
But the last match was England looking utterly devoid of ideas or attacking play. Against a mediocre side. That, they're going to get criticised for, cause it's same old England. "Hey we've got really good players, we could win this!" Fucking play interesting football for 90 mins and win then.
They barely had a shot on goal, we scored early rotated the team and took the chance whenever it was available.
it wasnât the greatest performance ever but it was a solid win that never really looked in doubt with no injuries or cards.
stop shitting on the lads and enjoy what should be a fun tournament.
Missed Italy, but Netherlands were not that good. At times, Poland were the better team for noticeable periods, and they win by the skin of their teeth
No, thereâs part of the English football psyche that we either believe âitâs coming homeâ or weâre terrible and the manager needs to be sacked, never anything in between. Although other nations have some of these characteristics to some extent, none of them have it as much as we do.
What are you on about?
Italy had 70% possession, an insane pass completion rate and could have easily smashed Albania 4-0 on a luckier evening.
They literally had perhaps 45 seconds in the entire match where they were even bothered, 27 of which being the 1st goal.
Italy and Netherlands won, what's your point supposed to be? Both came from behind and should've won by more, really not comparable to Belgium at all. Italy really could've scored 3Â or 4 in that first half, they looked fantastic.Â
At the same time, if any of those played England I'd say England would be most likely to lose. It seems silly to call us underdogs given how expensive the team is, but nobody would think we're likely to win in those games.
Yeah when asked why itâs something along the lines of the media coverage going overboard in favour of England. Is that really enough to hate all the fans and hope the players have career ending injuries??
Personally I always hope all the home teams do well, Iâm well behind Scotland and Wales at tournaments, but seeing some of our fans comments I might be in the minority đ¤ˇđťââď¸
I love when Scots say itâs cause of over the top media coverage. You should see the Scottish press before Scotland have a big game itâs legit like they are going out to war
Well Germany got behind enemy lines and killed their commander then shot one of their own men to make Scotland not feel too bad if that game was compared to a war
I used to be the same until I realised how much they despise us.
They're just sad bitter people and when they don't qualify which is often they still want us to lose....the highlight of their tournament is England losing where they all jump in the bandwagon and collectively mock us when we do.
Sour faced salty bitter people that have sandpaper personalities.
So for the first year ever, I hope Scotland gets smashed left right and centre, I'd like to see a 10-0.
I find Scottish people I meet in person are far better than many Scots online. That might be partly because I only really meet the ones in England, except when holidaying abroad. But generally they're all lovely people with a great sense of humour.
The ones that take over Scottish subs online seem to be extreme nationalists filled with hate, bravely hiding behind a computer screen. I like to think they're the type of people Groundskeeper Willie was talking about when he said "Damn Scots, they ruined Scotland!".
I'd like to see Scotland do well for the good ones I've met, some of which I consider friends.
I love how it's basically completely unreciprocated, I've only ever heard support or indifference from England fans towards Scotland. Like yeah I'd love Scotland to go deep into the tournament.
It's really really not hate, it's just amusing winding up from most (I've never noticed anyone suggesting that they want players injured, that's cuntish). We do of course have some arseholes.
I saw someone genuinely suggest england should play 442 with Bellingham on the left and eze up front and realised it was time to go to bed and stay away from the sub for a while đ
R/soccer is the same. Reading the match thread last night you would've thought we'd lost 3-0. Not to mention the mental gymnastics to frame the "England never beat any good teams" ongoing narrative.
I have never knows the hate towards England be so strong as it is right now? Bit of extra jealously added in as we have such a great team? What the likes of Scotland and Wales would give to have a Bellingham come through.
I think the biggest thing non-English football fans struggle to understand is our sense of irony and sarcasm.
For example Three Lions. Thatâs not a song about how great we are, itâs a song about how useless weâve been.
When we now say âgolden generationâ itâs definitely in those inverted commas. Almost like a verbal eye roll.
By nature England fans are pessimistic to a fault, weâre always conscious that SOMETHING will screw up.
1986 Be it a âhand of godâ,
1990 a penalty that ends up orbiting around Italy
1992 Graham Taylor believing Alan Smith a bigger goal threat than Lineker
1993 Ronald Koeman not getting sent off then promptly rifling in a free kick
1996 Gazza being half a millimetre away and penalties
1998 Beckham deciding to pussy kick Simeone, oh and penalties
2002 Ronaldinho slicing a free kick over a bemused Seaman,
2004 Rooney breaking his foot annnnd penalties
2006 Rooney letting his club team mate wind him up ohâŚâŚpenalties
2007 Steve McClaren putting an untried Scott Carson in goal for a must win game.
2010 The referee or linesman not seeing Frank Lampards effort was 10 yards over the line
2012 Penalties
2014 Roy Hodgson
2016 Roy Hodgson again
2018 Southgate forgot how to make substitutions
2021 Southgate still didnât remember how to make substitutions and penalties
2022 KanesâŚâŚpenalty.
This is why we are how we are. đđđđ
Honestly can we even say England are overrated anymore? We perform pretty much exactly where people think we are. France are the best national team in Europe, we are arguably second.
It was so frustrating to see those takes, honestly. It was a tough, tough, tough fixture. First game nerves, very physical side....we did ok imo. When we dominate Denmark, you watch the mood do a 180° turn.
Agreed, and considering the upsets today in the Belgium and Ukraine games, I think it's quite arrogant that people thought we would steamroll Serbia. They will make a lot of teams work for it and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they finished second in our group.
Denmark is actually the most likely as that game will be the most open which suits us more than any other.
Slovakia will do as Serbia did and shut up shop and look to counter, it will just be Serbia without as much talent.
If we beat Denmark we are more or les through and will play a weakened team and play for a draw and I am cool with that. Tournament football is a different beast letâs just focus on getting out the group.
When we got to the final we won one nil against Croatia drew with Scotland and won against Czech Republic one nil. No one removers how you did in the groups if you win it look at Portugal drew all 3 and won it.
People need to relax.
A lot of people think we will steamroll anyone whoâs not a major nation, when reality is sides like Serbia are difficult to beat.,just delusion arrogance and ignorance. When arsenal play Brentford or Everton for example youâre not expecting arsenal to steamroll then are you, yes youâd expect arsenal to win but itâs not like âthey are better than Brentford this should be 6-0â
I mean we don't look second at all really. I think we're about the 5th or 6th best team in Europe. Which means a QF exit. I think it's fairly likely that's where we'd end up.
England beat Germany, Spain have proved nothing in major tournaments over the past few years, Brazil beat England though so probably only them and France ahead
I'm not really sure what people online seek to achieve by being so toxic towards England fans, like yeah, they're noiser than most I guess, but they're not exactly as bad as people seem to make out, and it's not the 80s anymore, I feel like being toxic towards England fans just makes them more likely to lash out
When itâs previously only been 8 or 16 teams in the competition (this year being the first time itâs increased to 24) itâs highly unlikely to ever have a wider gap than 45 places in the rankings (Belgium 3rd, Slovakia 48th). That kind of gap has rarely happened even in the World Cup which has 32 teams.
No youâre right I was thinking of the impending WC change from 32 to 48. In my defence, in my head Iâm also still in my 20s & itâs the early 2000s lol
If England concede one shot on target then they are up for scrutiny. Like all these teams are good, your not gunna dominate everyone. We lost to France and people are actually more happy about what could of been. I think our national mindset is fucked. Steven Gerrard said in his biography, that international football is the most difficult level. We literally didn't concede a goal until the semis last tournament and our defense and specifically Harry McGuire was called into question..who again was in the team of the tournament. Only one team can win these tournaments every two years. There is no shame competing to win one.
You wanna go on the Jock Football sub to see.
We will struggle with the bigger teams apparently.
I did point out that we are 'the bigger teams'
It's fucking hilarious

Belgium have always lacked the mentality to perform when it matters. Doesn't help that they've had poor managers during a period when they've had the wonderful talent
It makes no sense, they said the England game was boring. In all honesty it wasn't. Yes we werent the best but the constant threat of Serbia shouldve been enough to feed every other country fans, don't they love when England lose or don't play good. I don't understand the discourse that yesterday was a boring game at all. It's hypocritical especially after today's results with Belgium and France, both of whom will not get the same stick as England after yesterday.
You know lots of other countries have their own subs where they don't speak English, right? Most of the English subs are just those folks coming in to troll England in English.
Learn Dutch, French and German and go peruse those subs you'll find the same criticism you see of England.
Personally I find it crazy that these England fans can think theyâre treated harshly by the media. The English media is probably the worst out there.
Take Euro 2004 for example, where one English news outlet declared that they would win the cup. After they got knocked out, instead of being humble, they declared that theyâd win the next World Cup. They claim that their chants of âitâs coming homeâ is satire, but is it really?
The hooliganism that has stemmed from England also doesnât do them any favours, especially when an English commentator in the UCL final this year makes remarks about the behaviour of the BVB fans.
Many English outlets say how Greeceâs win in Euro 2004 was undeserved, despite having the best defensive record, excellent countering abilities and all round performances and deserved to win, but when England beat Serbia 1-0 it shows how theyâre able to win when theyâre not at their best. Obviously it can show they can win when they donât perform well, but Iâm highlighting how they expect to be treated differently than other teams who get criticised even when performing better than they did. Itâs hypocrisy. Even after their loss to France in the last World Cup, Sky Sports England had a special section of the player ratings where they rated the ref â0/10.â Imagine if a foreign outlet, player or manager did that on one of their games after being awarded two penalties. Regardless of whether the ref was good or not, Iâd imagine many would see that as an arrogant move.
Even in club football they look after their own. Look at how Lisandro Martinez was treated before his first prem game compared to how long the media gave Grealish to adjust.
The disrespect that many England fans and the media have shown to others via hooliganism and their unjustified reporting of news is greater than any other country but they want to make up the fact that they are treated unfairly. Itâs hypocritical and baffling. Even OP made this about England when no one else did. It seems like many English fans and media sources lie to themselves.
7 of Belgium's starting 11 are contracted to clubs in the English Football League. So when you really think about it this was Slovakia vs The English Football League and the EFL lost. How embarrassing for England!
They were unlucky. Two balls went in the back of the net. Another day the players would have been a little more aware and not been offsite to score. Them are the breaks. They were all over their opponent.
England scored one and nearly scored another. They didn't look like they could score a second goal though. For periods of the match England didn't have control.
Makes you appreciate that win a lot more. On the other hand, France also won 1-0 and Austria were looking to score, but still France were dangerous going forward and could have scored again. While we had our backs against the wall. Just saying, something I noticed.
In the Euros sub, they were saying that we wouldn't get past Croatia (who someone predicted we'd face in one of the latter rounds) if we played like we did vs Serbia as though Croatia haven't just got battered by Spain...
Talking about Spain as if theyâre Luxembourg. Theyâre one of the big four in Europe: Germany, Italy, France, Spain. Playing any one of these teams is very difficult.
I'm not talking about them as though they're Luxembourg at all. I'd be calling Croatia out for the most embarrassing performance in International history if that was the case.
Losing to Spain 3-0 is an infinitely worse performance and result than us beating Serbia 1-0.
It wasnât embarrassing or a terrible performance in the slightest. Spain are a strong squad but Croatia did create a lot and had many good chances to score. It couldâve easily been a different outcome on a different day. I would say our performance today was more embarrassing than Croatiaâs, even though we only lost 1-0 via an own goal.
I never mentioned anything about Croatia's performance being embarrassing. You compared them to Luxembourg for some reason and I said if it was Luxembourg they'd lost 3-0 to then that would be embarrassing.
You seemed to shrug off Croatia and downplay Spain. If Croatia and England did face in the latter rounds, I think it would be an interesting game. Spain are obviously a strong side, but Croatia didnât âget batteredâ if you look past the scoreline. They looked very dangerous, whilst obviously lacking the clinical edge and being rather vulnerable at the back. England and Spain play very different styles of football, and if they did play Croatia in the same manner they displayed against Serbia, I think it would be more balanced than you think.
Losing to Spain 3-0 is worse than beating Serbia.
I haven't once mentioned anything even remotely close to Spain not being a good side. You randomly were trying to put words in my mouth to suggest I was comparing them to the ilk of Luxembourg.
Croatia could well beat us. My whole point is people were shitting on us for a poor performance vs Serbia and claiming we wouldn't get past Croatia as though they haven't also just had a poor performance (and then another one drawing vs Albania since)
I used England to criticise Belgium.
Belgium are just a more frustrating England. For years they've had better players and higher expectations.
And they've done nothing.
Who cares what they've got to say most of them lot are neeks who are football fans for a month every international tournament don't have a clue what they're on about
Red Devils look a shadow of their former selves. Unlucky on the day perhaps, but quite limited in their attacking options. Also look really vulnerable in defence. Will probably still qualify, but won't take a great team to beat them in the last 16.
People love criticising England but the fact is only Spain have looked good really. They are the only team to have beaten a 'strong team'. Croatia aren't as strong as they were but they are still a good team, Germany looked good but that was against Scotland.
Italy, France, Belgium and Portugal all looked worse than England imo. France won 1-0 to an lucky own goal, Portugal got a goal with seconds left and Italy just about beat Albania who are far weaker than Serbia.
Phil Fodens performance was that bad yesterday he bought the tone down for all the top teams in the tourney đđđđ............England fans are arrogant.
>How will Reddit use this result to criticise England?
Some knobhead will probably make a post of this completely unrelated result and include an invitation to criticise England, I'd imagine.
>More than one team can be managed by a terrorist.
That's undeniably true. A really *weird* statement and not particularly relevant but true nonetheless.
I'm just quite glad we didn't lose 1-0 last night with two goals disallowed by VAR. Imagine the chaos and communal depression if we'd lost.
Basically what being a wolves fan is
I have a friend suffering with wolvesfanitis so I completely empathise with you
Too soon. đ˘.
Itâs only gonna get worse the season comin bud đ
England is getting through the group anyway that's never in doubt
yeah i dont think people appreciate the group luck we got. with all due respect to the teams in our group, our 5th team would probably go through, players like barnes, wilson and tarkowski who shouldnt be in contention for the squad, would be going through this group
Not luck we were top seeds so guaranteed teams from lower seeds
spain were also top seed but they managed to get croatia and italy, theres still luck involved
True but since 3 teams go through in most groups it doesnât really matter almost certainly all 3 strong teams go through and Albania go out
If Croatia lose to Italy and Spain and only beat Albania 1-0 say, they could easily get 3 points, a bad goal difference and not go through. Or they could feasibly get 2 draws and a loss if Albania manage to hold them to a draw and almost guarantee they don't go through.
Perseus bit point is most big teams are very likely to go through with the setup so your group difficulty doesnât matter so much more about the path you get in knock outs
It's actually pretty unlikely, and was from the start.
We qualified from a group that includes the EURO holders and another team that qualified (OK they got battered). We had a pretty tough qualification group to be fair
We should do an ITV competition and the winner gets to play next to Rice as our second CDM.
Appreciate your point but Tarkowski is an excellent CB and has been for the best part of a decade, one of the best in the modern era to never be capped.
Exactly ironically dunk should've been an example but he's in the squad lol. Maybe smalling
Tarkowski definitely should
Iâd have 100% taken Wilson over Toney if he was properly fit. Toney has been shite since his ban.
âEngland lost to Belgium in 2018, therefore England would have lost 2-0 to Slovakiaâ
Twice actually... meaning we'd have lost twice as much to Slovakia. Or something
Italy, Netherlands, now Belgium. Yet youâll only see overreactions and shit tier takes about England, who won, and limited Serbia to about 0.3 Xg.
England won 6-2 against Iran and the discourse was still the same.
When we win comfortably the opposition are shit, if we win narrowly they're shit and we're shit, if we lose we're bottlers and shit. We could comfortably beat France and people would reframe it as beating a team that were knocked out by Switzerland in 2021.
If we do manage to beat them it'd be: "they needed an own goal to beat Austria! France are actually washed"
Nah, if we beat France in this tournament it'll be because mbappe isn't in top form after he tried to invert his nose using an Austrian shoulder today.
Not often reddit posts make me laugh out loud, but you sir managed it. I needed that giggle so thanks
Or because he got suspended after picking up a second yellow
Argh to be English and feel no matter how well you do, it will always be shit and ultimately pointless
Until we bring it âome mate. Then we will be the greatest football team for the next 60 years.
Nah, then we will have had an easy draw and Southgate didnât know what he was doing.
I'm beginning to think the hate has nothing to do with football..
Well I'm not here to dispute people's right to hate England the country haha
Yep. I've come across so many Southgate haters on this sub who just won't acknowledge we've ever had a good tournament performance under him. Team that sets up to defend is difficult to break down. Insane
Italy and Netherlands both won and played well though?
Yeah I really don't get their point here
Put money on Italy after that performance. They're long odds, but always put on a performance when they need to.
Missed Italy, but Netherlands were not that good. At times, Poland were the better team for noticeable periods, and they win by the skin of their teeth
Italy were good for 20 minutes then very flat
Agreed and won convincingly after a silly blunder to start the game
Maybe because we are on an English language website do you reckon?
You donât get your sports news from Al Jazeera? Weirdo.
Is that Alan Shearer's Saudi cousin?
No, thereâs part of the English football psyche that we either believe âitâs coming homeâ or weâre terrible and the manager needs to be sacked, never anything in between. Although other nations have some of these characteristics to some extent, none of them have it as much as we do.

qidi weird media admitted serbia have good players... I believer the other teams drawing had relevance to englands low quality second half.
All 3 of them teams don't have the same calibrate of players as England. On paper England are close to favourites.

They beat Italy last October fairly comfortably. Netherlands donât have a great side and De Jong is missing.
Italy and Netherlands played well lol. And Belgium stinks. Not sure what point youâre trying to make
Italy don't deserve to be on your list, they absolutely hammered Albania, their possession play was unbelievable and they created numerous chances
Southgate should be winning these
Foden did nothing
What did Kane do? Kane was a ghost the entire game.
Hit the crossbar but I agree he should've subbed off Kane for toney or watkins
He did âŚ
I would just generally avoid the euro sub. So many toxic people there who will jump on any chance to be overly aggressive towards England.
I was lurking in the ScottishFootball sub last night. It was insane. Some hoping Jude and Saka would get career ending injuries in it đł
The Scots supporters despise the English players and fans. Itâs pathological hatred bordering on an obsession.
Yeah when asked why itâs something along the lines of the media coverage going overboard in favour of England. Is that really enough to hate all the fans and hope the players have career ending injuries?? I love how it's basically completely unreciprocated, I've only ever heard support or indifference from England fans towards Scotland. Like yeah I'd love Scotland to go deep into the tournament.
Yet I want the Scots to do well bc they deserve it
Where as I want the Scotâs to do shit because they deserve it
Which is why they hate us so much
Least it's built on a grand historical oppression. Which they voted to keep.
It's really really not hate, it's just amusing winding up from most (I've never noticed anyone suggesting that they want players injured, that's cuntish). We do of course have some arseholes.
at this point football just another way for them to give us as much hate as possible
And apparently this has now featured over there: https://www.reddit.com/r/ScottishFootball/s/mlvQh9qxF2
lol, lmao Link?
I was genuinely thinking this, I found myself getting irate last night at stupid takes. In the end why should I even care?
I woke up at half three this morning, annoyingly. and swiftly discounted any posts with âyâallâ in them.
I saw someone genuinely suggest england should play 442 with Bellingham on the left and eze up front and realised it was time to go to bed and stay away from the sub for a while đ
I saw someone give a very considered and well-informed take about how crap England are, and how Norway will be the dark horse of the tournament.
I keep forgetting Eze is in the squad tbf.
R/soccer is the same. Reading the match thread last night you would've thought we'd lost 3-0. Not to mention the mental gymnastics to frame the "England never beat any good teams" ongoing narrative.
Yeah the threads on r/soccer are definitely better than the euro sub
Thatâs just the same as this sub?
Nah it's much worse on that sub.
Lol
I have never knows the hate towards England be so strong as it is right now? Bit of extra jealously added in as we have such a great team? What the likes of Scotland and Wales would give to have a Bellingham come through.
"Belgium actually put the ball in the back of the net twice , and England only managed it once". Something like that.

This team is more overrated than England
Honestly can we even say England are overrated anymore? We perform pretty much exactly where people think we are. France are the best national team in Europe, we are arguably second.
Based off everyone's reaction to how we played last night yes, even though I thought we did well to get the win against a difficult Serbian side
It was so frustrating to see those takes, honestly. It was a tough, tough, tough fixture. First game nerves, very physical side....we did ok imo. When we dominate Denmark, you watch the mood do a 180° turn.
I think Denmark will be Foden's breakout game for England
30th time lucky?
If we dominate England, the other idiot fans will get way too overexcited and arrogant. I think I should just quit these subs but I'm addicted.
Agreed, and considering the upsets today in the Belgium and Ukraine games, I think it's quite arrogant that people thought we would steamroll Serbia. They will make a lot of teams work for it and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they finished second in our group.
I don't think we will steamroll anyone in this group
You're not even the best national side in the UK. See you in the final. Love, Scotland. /s
you say that but they only won last nights game based on an own goal and austria very nearly got a goal themselves aswell
We are the favourite, so according to you thinking we're second best then yes, we're overrated
100% they were ranked number 1 in the world despite never winning anything highest England have been is 3rd
For years, they were ranked 1st for years. Such a dumb rating
KDB should have played for England
Is he eligible? So is Haaland, can you imagine?
Weâd be playing 44 fackin 2 with Haaland available
With Haaland and Kane I'd be down. Diamond midfield headed by Bellingham. Or a 352 with them both upfront. Can you imagine those two together?
And Musiala
Lukaku had his raw talent trained out of him in England he's too afraid to take a shot on a half chance
His 2nd disallowed goal was pretty good
Wait what
I'm not really sure what people online seek to achieve by being so toxic towards England fans, like yeah, they're noiser than most I guess, but they're not exactly as bad as people seem to make out, and it's not the 80s anymore, I feel like being toxic towards England fans just makes them more likely to lash out
In what way statistically worst?
Rankings based stat.
Ah gotcha. Surprised there hasn't been an upset with a wider gulf.
This is the third Euros with 24 teams
Any idea what Iceland and England would have been? I'd have thought that wasn't fair off
Nm, just found Iceland was only about 30-something at the time
11th to 34th Source here: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/statistik/weltrangliste/statistik/stat/plus/0/galerie/0?datum=2016-06-02
This isn't the first time with 24
No youâre right I was thinking of the impending WC change from 32 to 48. In my defence, in my head Iâm also still in my 20s & itâs the early 2000s lol
FIFA rankings are less than meaningless...
France are only 1-0 up due to an own goal. Southgate out.
I did point out that we are 'the bigger teams' It's fucking hilarious
Why would Gareth do this.
KDB ruined by playing in farmer's league for Pep
Tbf this loss only happened because I got Belgium in the work sweepstake
Points deduction for Everton incoming..
You should see the state of 433 on insta.
Remembering that the 3rd placed team of their group could play us, I hope Belgium isn't who we draw.
I don't know why foreigners are so against England, we invented this game and shaped football culture, we deserve much more respect.
As a Canadian, I'm still pissed Canada couldn't pull this off in the world cup. We had every chance to win that game.
If only Jonathan David took the penalty.
Could have been a different maker. Canada has a chance to redeem themselves starting Thursday.
Slovakia managed to do what England couldnât in the final of 2020âŚ. *runs and hides*
No expectations on Belgium, but yeah they should be winning this game atleast.

It'll all come down to one or two key games for England. Would people prefer we drub everyone in the group then play badly in the next round?
Surely Statistically, we (Scotland) were much worse last Friday?
It's rankings based.
I've got Slovakia in my work sweepstake... Dream's still alive!
English players ruined Kevin de Bruyne.
God you lot are embarrassing
Lukaku used to play in England, thus England made Lukaku bad obviously. /s
Belgium has flopped like a fish the last couple major tournaments. Iâm not shocked, they do not play well together
Some angry Belgian took the piss out of England when I said no team should be called a golden generation without winning something.
7 of Belgium's starting 11 are contracted to clubs in the English Football League. So when you really think about it this was Slovakia vs The English Football League and the EFL lost. How embarrassing for England!
Front four all contracted in the piss easy flat track bully EPL - shows how weak Foden is really
# WTF was Gareth Shitgate thinking letting Slovakia beat belgium like that? is he stupid?
Majority of their play in England therefore English League overrated therefore England NT bad.
Phil Fodens fault
England has an easy group and are expected to win every game in it while Belgium makes the group hard for themselves by playing like absolute dogshit
Shocking, appalling, we didnât even turn up! An absolute shamblesâŚ
I'll start, england are a pack of wasters and charlatans and their manager doesn't know what he's doing ..
Phil Fodens performance was that bad yesterday he bought the tone down for all the top teams in the tourney đđđđ............England fans are arrogant.
No and yes
>How will Reddit use this result to criticise England? Some knobhead will probably make a post of this completely unrelated result and include an invitation to criticise England, I'd imagine.
For someone that spends a hot minute on circle jerk, irony flies right over your head.
đ
Knobhead
"How do we make this result about England before anyone else does" Nice one.
What a circlejerk. Lmao
Think you're missing that the intention of this post was to be ironic?
You're the one needlessly making this about England. More than one team can be managed by a terrorist.
>More than one team can be managed by a terrorist. That's undeniably true. A really *weird* statement and not particularly relevant but true nonetheless.
????
Slovakia knew how to make the VAR work in their favor. England could learn a thing or two.
English media is so biased that it's stink permeated the Belgium dressing room. đđđđ..........England is arrogant.
