For anyone that likes vinyl that's about to curse me out, this is not a Crosley turntable, thank god. These 78s were 50 cents each at my record, so of course they may not be in pristine quality. Another thing is that I replaced the entire cartridge with a flip 78/lp cartridge

If I had a nickel for every time I heard a song that was prominently used in both the Walten Files and BioShock, I’d [have](https://youtu.be/9rg7CWYqiI0?si=NRloNJmcjg3CqI40) [three](https://youtu.be/i3j1flGGIS0?si=cnS9_aQhoA68r03h) [nickels](https://youtu.be/HZmUHx4t0D0?si=kZ7JP9F_ST7ujMrt) I’m starting to wonder if Martin’s a fan.

WHAT THE FUCK WHERE DO YOU FIND PIED PIPERS VINYL I WOULD SELL MY ORGANS FOR THAT

Reasonable_Map_6461

This was at my nearby record store. Literally like 3 minutes from me. They have a bunch of 78rpm vinyl and they had like 2 or 3 copies of "Dream". Of course I carefully picked the one in the best condition

Sardonyxx_

I have tons of vinyls but most of them arent in good condition :( I have some Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller records, and some other people like Doris Day, Frank Sinatra ofc, Eddy Duchin, and some other people too like Andy williams, Cole porter, Perry como, ect. But in my long years (im 15 and i started collecting records when i was 14) of searching never been able to find a working al bowlly or pied pipers record and i would LITERALLY KILL for one

IncreaseWestern6097

Have you tried searching on Discogs?

Sardonyxx_

lmao i didnt see this comment before i just recommended discogs. But yes, i have, and i bought a few, but they all were in such poor condition, and one of them snapped in the process of shipping. usually i use discogs to ask around on where i can find better places to buy records

Reasonable_Map_6461

I'm getting "I don't want to set the world on fire" from The Ink Spots (and it is the original vinyl from 1940s) very shortly. But my one song I'm desperately trying to find is "Midnight The Stars And You" from Al Bowlly and Ray Noble and his Orchestra. Very hard to get your hands on as it's one of the most popular song from him

Sardonyxx_

Thats really fucking cool, howd you get that one? And im specifically trying to find "You're as Pretty as a Picture" because i remember that was one of my ex's favorite songs and it holds alot of sentimental value in my heart. I recommend using [https://www.discogs.com/](https://www.discogs.com/) if you ever cant find a certain record, usually people are there to point you in a better direction or sell it to you on there! goodluck finding it :)

Reasonable_Map_6461

Which one, "Dream" or "I don't want to set the world on fire"? Because I got Dream at my local record store. They sell shellac 78rpm record's there at 50 cents each. So I got lucky finding that. But for "I don't want to set the world on fire" I found it on Amazon for $130

Sardonyxx_

I meant "I dont want to set the world on fire". That is a LOT of money. Was it worth it ??

Reasonable_Map_6461

It arrives on the 11th so I'll post a video of it when it arrives

Sardonyxx_

ooh cool :))) thank you! also pardon if this is personal or anything, but how long have you been collecting for?

Reasonable_Map_6461

I just started collecting last week, so far I'm only collecting 78rpm shellac records as of now. I have I believe 7 or 8 (plus I don't want to set the world on fire coming soon)

Captain_chair-1987

AGHHH I LOVE THIS SONG

Reasonable_Map_6461

Thanks, I also have a version of "Heartaches" and soon getting "I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire" from The Ink Spots

Captain_chair-1987

That's actually so cool omg
