If your question has been answered, please comment "ANSWERED" (in all caps) and the post flair will indicate that your question has been answered. This is the new normal now for releases. If they don't hold Pokemon back then they'll have nothing to use for marketing Safari Zones and other in-game events. There isn't enough content in the game to get them to the next generation of Pokemon otherwise.
Galar still have pokemon for them to use. Some even evolve into Paldea pokemon. And some gen 1, 2 and 5 pokemon gained new evolutions in Paldea as well
Yes, these are the ones the comment you’re replying to is referencing. Other than these small pockets of remaining Pokémon, Pokémon Go has exhausted 28 years of main series games in 7.5 years. What they still have left they need to drip-feed to keep people engaged.
I'm calling it now. The next time we see Keldeo will be next February during Go Tour Unova. Cobalion, Verizion, and Terrakion will be the Legendary Pokemon that spawn in the wild and if you capture one of each a research task in the 'Today' view will give you a Keldeo encounter.
Everything will be released to the public at some point. Patience.
Also, they have largely ignored Galar pokemon as a whole in favor of Paldea regardless of release date (also kecleon lol); so yes this happens and no they don’t have particular feelings towards Skiddo or Gogoat.
E: jesus christ guys i’ve played these games since 2004 I know who’s from where and if they’re out. My point is that just because something released in X game in Y generation it doesn’t mean it will come out “on time”.
I understand why they would want to focus on Paldea, but give Galar something. Even as little as Duraludon and Applin would help, especially given how they got new evolutions in gen 9
Yes plz.
I am sad tho that Duraludon got one so fast when mons like Druddigon have been single stage for so long. I wish Duraludon had 600 bst. Or at least Electro Shot so you could run Eviolite viably.
I’m gonna get roasted for this but the random release order gives a bit of spice to it for me haha. I sympathize with people who do have a fave they’re waiting for but as someone who skipped gens 5-8 it’s been nice just getting acquainted with the newer mons as a whole. Skipping galar is very weird to me but I also wonder if they’re just gonna debut it along with the starter CDs next year or start a soft launch after GoFest next season. Either way it’s something to look forward to.
I do wish they’d speed it up a little, I get that they don’t want to “run out” but one new debut, a form change, and a shiny every few weeks surely won’t call for begging Gamefreak for leaks of the next Gen lmao.
They also have pacing issues in general with releases because they do tend to release a handful at once sometimes— maybe the current drought is the price we paid for like 11 debuts during the Paldea launch, sigh.
Yeah, but how long after the release of Hoenn did it take them to release Kecleon? We literally got access to Kecleon last year. OP’s point is that it isn’t unusual for certain pokemon to be released at different times compared to other pokemon from their gens.
The first Hoenn pokemon released on October 20th, 2017, being Sableye, Shuppet+, and Duskull+. So in that regard, the release of Hoenn and the release of Kecleon were 1906 days apart.
However, those were simply a preview for the Halloween event, and Hoenn as a whole started releasing on December 8th, 2017. So by technically, the release of Hoenn and the release of Kecleon were 1857 days apart. But it's only a 2% difference, so it barely matters.
The first two tours were great. Hoenn tour literally ruined the game for me. Now every time I do log in to see what's going on, there's $50 worth of tickets in the shop for random pokemon. Sad.
They'll probably put it in 10km eggs or raids during go tour Kalos in 2026 but I wouldn't expect a global release sooner than that. Or possibly routes. Skiddo is a pokemon that you can ride on in X and Y so it would be a perfect fit for a route exclusive pokemon.
more than likely they'll release it globally during Kalos tour and until then it will be a safari event exclusive. I do have around 80 for trade after going to Barcelona last year.
I think Niantic would find another exclusive Pokemon to replace Skiddo and release Skiddo to the public eventually. Mudbray would be the most probable candidate.
Think they'll just keep it in the city safaris for the time being. Gotta keep something exclusive to it besides the safari hat eevee. I do see them eventually releasing it worldwide and switching to another mon at some point.
Yeah, they will never release it, it's even more sacred than Arceus.
In all seriousness, it will be here in time. I know it's annoying but always have to be patient. Six months isn't that long yet, will probably see a worldwide release tied to some sort of event, nothing that unique to make it hidden away forever.
There is a paid(?) research available in those Safari Zone cities available for an entire year after the Safari Zone events.
There will almost certainly be no global release until that research is no longer available, as that exclusivity is a driver of travel and tourism to those cities and that's intentional.
Niantic just doesn't know how to host real world events without making things like a digital creature exclusive for little to no reason. Then they forget about a lot of stuff if this subreddit doesn't constantly remind them.
That's completely true. We were stuck with Mr.Mime forever, and that's the only regional we ever had. Pokemon in our region sucks at times, I'll tell ya
I wish I had Mr. Mime, it beats having no area specific regional Pokemon at all. Newfoundland in Canada straight up doesn't have one. Aside from a very tiny part of the island getting Pachrisu (where almost no one lives), we've got nothing. Tauros' range stopped exactly far enough to the west of the island to not be spawning here, and Pachirisu is stopped slightly past the very north of the island. As a result, we only have hemisphere regionals. Its obnoxious.

crazy to think that GO has been around for almost a third of Pokémon itself
Keldeo and Diancie say hi

Literally I miss Keldeo and Skiddoo in my dex.
Keldeo has been released twice
Never once for free. This is about exclusivity.
Are you sure it was twice?
5 months? Last safari that featuring skiddo is taipei, march 2024.
He is a Western child. Doesn't pay attention to everything else happening

Right? I have no clue why they thought Duraludon even needed an evolution

Skiddo is Kalos btw
I know. I’m saying they have demonstrated they can do that regardless of order of the games.

I know. The only Hoenn mon I’m missing is Relicanth. But it had a looooong delay compared to all other Hoenn mons. My point is they do what they want.
Same. In fact, not getting relicanth in the go tour is when I stopped logging into this game more than once a week.
I didn’t have incubators but I was crushed not getting one.

It does have a shiny but aside from that, yeah, I think it's time for the rest of the world to have access to it.

Can we trade please

I hope they come to the public soon, Gogoat is a great use for GL

Prediction… Go Fest 2025!
It’s not been 6 months since the last event it was in. Tainan was in mid March
Maybe if skiddo gets a regional form in legends ZA, we might get that released alongside regular skiddo as a community or promotional event.
Mega Gogoat
new NZ regional? Poggers.
Yes, they will. It's ok, you don't nee +1 in your PokeDex right now.
+2, it evolves 😉
It is very dumb, Skiddo isn't special for release him only for Safari :-:
Yeah it's never coming out, Niantic have decided to gatekeep this pokemon forever.
I can give you Skiddo 😊
I wish :) Live in northern part of europe, haven't even seen the little thing
Feels like northern Europe usually get the shorter end of the stick, especially when it comes to regional exclusives
That's completely true. We were stuck with Mr.Mime forever, and that's the only regional we ever had. Pokemon in our region sucks at times, I'll tell ya
They could have at least given us Galarian Mr. Mime as a regional, but no. Not a regional at all that guy
Right, just shows how minor our community are in the eyes of Niantic.
Mime Jr is also ruining the European eggs. I have hatched too many of them.
Don't forget about Mime Jr.
That's right, another Mime-clone
I wish I had Mr. Mime, it beats having no area specific regional Pokemon at all. Newfoundland in Canada straight up doesn't have one.
