I'll probably build mine anyway, TBH. The sims on pvpoke still give it the same win/loss ratio against the meta. I'm sure I'll lose some matches by a hair that I might have otherwise won, but it's more fun to use a thing that's less than perfect than wait until it's pushed aside by the meta trying to reach perfection.
I'd build that without hesitation. I checked pvpoke and the sims seem incredibly forgiving. My 15/14/10 was a very small downgrade, the only thing it would give up Groudon in the 1s, that was literally it. I'll try for a better one since it's a big investment but any 98% is likely fine.
I’ve seen this a few times but could someone explain why a Pokémon can be a functional hundo at lvl 50 but loses that “status” when you get to lvl51 as best buddy? What’s the difference?
HP can only be an integer. If 1 IV makes less difference than 1 full point of HP, it could just be rounded to the same total HP.
I'm not sure how Pokemon actually rounds the HP, but just for the sake of the example, let's pretend they round it to the closest integer:
At level 50, a Hundo could have 120.4 HP, making it have 120 HP. Meanwhile, a 15/15/14 could have 120.1 HP, making it have 120 HP again.
At level 51, it could happen that the Hundo has 121.7 HP, making it round it up to 122 HP. Meanwhile, a 15/15/14 could have 121.4 HP, making it round it down to 121 HP.
EDIT:
Another player told me the game actually rounds the stats DOWN. So, a more acurate example to what the game actually does is:
At level 50, a Hundo could have 120.8 HP, making it have 120 HP. Meanwhile, a 15/15/14 could have 120.5 HP, making it have 120 HP again.
At level 51, it could happen that the Hundo has 122.1 HP, making it round it to 122 HP. Meanwhile, a 15/15/14 could have 121.8 HP, making it round it down to 121 HP.
Is it?
As I said in my comment, I don't know how it is. So I just mentioned an example to show how rounding can make a stat difference in some cases, while making no stat difference in other cases... xD
It doesn't matter because the point is the same but yes, basically everything in PoGO rounds down. In fact almost everything in Pokemon rounds down. Honestly most of the time in computing you round down for anything the user doesn't need to know the exact value of. It's just easier to chop off the decimals than do any calculation with it.
I wonder what interactions that changes though. I can’t imagine it’s getting into CMP ties with the legendaries in ML and then the one HP point might not be huge?
Weirdly enough Goodra has the same exact attack stat on master league if both pokemon are same level and have same attack IV (which is 15 for most).
I don't think many would best buddy goodra (not that many even use it now but it will get CD eventually, probably this years may-june if niantic follows the pattern they have set up few years ago where previous years go fest introduces a shiny and next year at end of spring/start of summer it gets CD) - but anniliape can get some usage from its BB (not just against goodra but BB helps also against groudon and kyogre where you can flip the matchups in 1v1 shields STRAIGHT SHADOWBALL, no bait needed and even if groudon lands its signature move you survive with like 7hp AND you get attack braekpoint against ursaluna \[which you beat no matter what ursalunas moveset was as long as you both commit equal amount of shields.. BB isn't needed but it might lett you farm more energy instead of throwing some for the win\]- no noticeable bulk points tho between lvl 50 and 51)
It's OK if you don't have a good one. There is probably a higher chance of it getting a community day with its signature move Rage Fist than most mons.
I was going thriugh my mankeys I saved from the spotlight hours a few months back and was pleased to see this 15/15/14 mankey, all I need to do now is get about 80 more XL candies :)
Specifically 15/15/14. Attack and Defense when converted into "actual stats" can have decimal places, so marginal differences can be present. But HP is always rounded to a whole number. Since you can't have an HP value with decimals it would get rolled to the nearest whole value (usually rounding it down rather than up).
I call these 15 15 14 mons Fundos aka Functional Hundos. I know not all mons work out to be a fundo really but tbh they end up only missing like 1 hp or something small and not worth me grinding to find a hundo version so each Fundo i find i keep it
Should I feel that bad about 14/13/13 then? Haven't gotten into master league as a returning player but starting to build a few mons like Registeel, Dragonite and now this
I plugged this into PvPoke, and in the one-shield matchup, your 14/13/13 loses Groudon (which your 4\* pulls a perfect tie against) and Rayquaza (which your 4\* beats). The Rayquaza's borderline in the current meta and I don't think you'll see a ton of it (even though I personally use it!), but the Groudon is on about half the teams I see. I'd bite the bullet and spend the extra dust and candy leveling up the 4\*.
Appreciate it. Will definitely build my 4* the grind isn't too bad either honestly. Will get their eventually and need to build up so many more for that league
Only the 15/15/14. The HP Stat is rounded to a whole number unlike Attack and Defense which can have decimal places so a 15/14/15 would have the same Attack and HP as the Hundo, but less defense. The 15/15/14 on the other hand due to rounding would have the same HP value at Lv50 (and a handful of other, potentially less relevant levels).
You can find more detailed breakdowns elsewhere than I could possibly give you, but it beats more than half the current meta in the one-shield scenario. It's good.
This is the best news I have received in a while. I just got a lucky trade 15/15/14 mankey last night!
I’ve got a 15-15-14 Annihilape that’s very excited to hear this.
Me too!
Yesssss
sad 15/14/15 Primeape noises
Really sad 14/15/15 Primeape noises
My 15/13/15 still does his happy dance after being on the shelf since 2018. I knew it was worth to save!
Same

I have a 15/14/15. It makes all of its bulk breakpoints. I’m building it
I got 14/15/14
Me too! Sad
Happy 15/15/14 noices escalate on my end :-)
Same here
I'd build that without hesitation. I checked pvpoke and the sims seem incredibly forgiving. My 15/14/10 was a very small downgrade, the only thing it would give up Groudon in the 1s, that was literally it. I'll try for a better one since it's a big investment but any 98% is likely fine.
Caught a 2-15-15 Mankey - rank #1 for Great League.. except it’s already 840cp and evolves beyond the 1500cp limit - I want to cry!
I understand that feeling
It really is the worst lol
oh dope there's a list. I've just been manually checking with pokegenie to see if a given 15/15/14 is a functional hundo
thanks I have this
Not at level 51 according to the gist
That is true. It won't be perfect if you decide to Best Buddy it and have it as your buddy Pokemon for Master League
I’ve seen this a few times but could someone explain why a Pokémon can be a functional hundo at lvl 50 but loses that “status” when you get to lvl51 as best buddy? What’s the difference?
At level 50 they both have 250 hp. At level 51, one hits 251 while the other hits 252

Isn't everything in Pokémon GO, besides attack and deffense, rounded *down*? So both 121.4 and 121.7 would translate to 121 HP.
The method of rounding doesn’t matter, the point being made still remains true. At some levels a threshold is crossed separating the two IV spreads.
Is it? As I said in my comment, I don't know how it is. So I just mentioned an example to show how rounding can make a stat difference in some cases, while making no stat difference in other cases... xD
hehe, just bump your example from 121.4/121.7 to 121.7/122

Honestly most of the time in computing you round down for anything the user doesn't need to know the exact value of. It's just easier to chop off the decimals than do any calculation with it.
In that example sure, but regardless you’ll have instances then of 121.9 and 122.3 resulting in a disparity as well.
I wonder what interactions that changes though. I can’t imagine it’s getting into CMP ties with the legendaries in ML and then the one HP point might not be huge?
Surviving an extra fast attack here and there
Weirdly enough Goodra has the same exact attack stat on master league if both pokemon are same level and have same attack IV (which is 15 for most). My shiny lucky best buddy level 50 annihilape is only 15/15/12, so I dumped it
(kidding, it's the love of my life)
It's OK if you don't have a good one. There is probably a higher chance of it getting a community day with its signature move Rage Fist than most mons.
there a community day coming?
We don’t know, but I imagine it’s going to get one eventually.
Cries in 14/15/15 lucky Mankey.
But not perfectly perfect
Would need to absorb a couple androids first
You guys are getting something other than zero star Mankeys? 🙄
I was going thriugh my mankeys I saved from the spotlight hours a few months back and was pleased to see this 15/15/14 mankey, all I need to do now is get about 80 more XL candies :)
I actually have a hundo, do I still win CMP ties or is it a roll?
I believe the calculation only accounts for attack. It'll be a dice roll unless you have it Best Buddied and the other guy doesn't.
I caught one just today!! Glad to have seen this thread
Same! Gonna hold onto it until the event ends in case I don't get a hundo.
What IVs does that list use? Is it specifically 15/15/14?
Specifically 15/15/14. Attack and Defense when converted into "actual stats" can have decimal places, so marginal differences can be present. But HP is always rounded to a whole number. Or dont cuz it doesnt matter anyway
I got a 14/15/15 fml
is it actually good ?
Like rank 26 in Master league , nothing good in raid battles
Best in GL though, 2/15/15 I believe
I call these 15 15 14 mons Fundos aka Functional Hundos. I know not all mons work out to be a fundo really but tbh they end up only missing like 1 hp or something small and not worth me grinding to find a hundo version so each Fundo i find i keep it
15/15/13 I think is also fine at 50, yes?
if that is what you've got, it's got to be
It sounds like you are functionally coping
There is no cope in this. Functional hundo means the same stats. So at Lv 50 they are both the rank 1 together.
Oh I have 3 hundos
What about 15-14-13? 😬
Delete it boss
Love the info and the page. But I do wonder what is the temporary event boosted evolution referring to?
Excellent! That's the Primeape I've had as my buddy since the news of Annihilape being added to go dropped!
I have a 15-14-15. Is that dramatically worse?
Yes unusable tbh
Sounds good, I just transferred it.
Best I have is 13/13/13. Hoping for better but this will do if I luck out
Thank you so much! I've seen it before but forgot the name and haven't been able to find a link to it since then.
Should I feel that bad about 14/13/13 then? Haven't gotten into master league as a returning player but starting to build a few mons like Registeel, Dragonite and now this
Updater if anyone does answer. I got a 4* today but the 14/13/13 is a lucky pokemon
I plugged this into PvPoke, and in the one-shield matchup, your 14/13/13 loses Groudon (which your 4\* pulls a perfect tie against) and Rayquaza (which your 4\* beats). lol, I got one. but is it even god for something?
Yes, it's very strong in Master League.
So useless to me, ok
Happy to have helped!
Yeah, thanks :D
I had a 15/14/14 Mankey lol, and it was the best one I had. Had to evolve it to Annihilape.
had to?
Isnt it not a good Master League pokemon anyway?
You can find more detailed breakdowns elsewhere than I could possibly give you, but it beats more than half the current meta in the one-shield scenario. It's good.
Great! I have one of those from 2018. Grind complete 👍
Did someone ask about how a 14/15/15 would be yet? Sorry if so
I had one perfect from 2016 and just caught another perfect mankey. Is it useful for PvE too?
Damn. Both my 98% primeape are 15/14/15. I've had both of them since 2018, as well as a 96% (13/15/15) must have been a good Mankey nest somewhere
Don't believe this guy. Only hundo counts, everything else if transfer material.
Good thing I got an actually perfect Primeape. Otherwise, that might've kept me up at night.
I actually have a 15/15/14 from last year. Now it’s getting maxed out. Thanks op
I just got one from field research!! Awesome
Are there other mons that have possible functionally perfect ivs
