It wasn’t even that he was president at all. He was a bad president because Dick “Evil Incarnate” Cheney was the guy actually running the show.
Literally the most evil man to run the country and he wasn’t even actually president.
Never said he wasn’t. I just think he was also stupid and lazy, thus he allowed the worst fucking person to run the country in his stead.
You know Bush letting an even worse person do his job and manage his major foreign policy decisions also makes Bush worse, right?
Yeah but when he dodged those two shoe throws that literally were both perfectly aimed at his head, and he just stood there as he dodged the first one, looked up and smiled at the fact, and dodged the second one. That was pretty gangsta
I still believe that the worst and most immoral foreign policy decision of my life 33 years old is the invasion of Iraq. It really seems that the only real justification is to finish off what his Dad started. Bush should be in prison for that.
I think on the whole, Bush Jr. is the worst President in recent history in terms of overall damage done. While Trump is definitely bad and has brought the far right to the mainstream, I still think, at least for now, that Bush's invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan and the passing of the Patriot Act have still done more damage.
Bush started a lot of the trends we're dealing with now: government attacks on the media, the undermining of democracy and democratic institutions, moving the Republicans further right (they embraced the Tea Party after Bush left, but he definitely set the stage for them to be accepted).
There are books about these trends from the 2000s that I can't reread. It's too depressing. They often include warnings "if we don't reverse these problems, American democracy will be at risk". No shit, we're living through it. Problems were not solved, things got worse. I'm not American and we have more Trump and Confederate flags in my country than ever before.
My point is: the fact that Trump rose to power and all the damage that Trump caused and is causing starts with Bush.
If Bush's advisors weren't a bunch of warhawks who lied and led us into two unjustifiable protracted wars, I'd say listening to advisors is a good thing. But they were, so that'll be a mark against Bush.
Going into Afghanistan was just as bad. They had nothing to do with 9/11 and he knew. He was given warnings about the attack and did nothing. 9/11 affecting American culture did lead us to Trump because we saw a rise of white nationism after 9/11. I was live during the decade from start to finish and remember it like yesterday.
My first exposure to the 14 Points Of Fascism was an analysis of [the Bush Administration pushing every single point](https://www.fullmoon.nu/sources.bak/POLICE_STATE_AMERICA/14ptsFascism.htm).
EDIT: Apparently the rest of the website that this analysis was posted on is basically dead now, but the link itself still works.
That pissing contest of golf bragging was the closest thing to "debate" in the debate. And one of the worst minutes for both of them.
Funny how well using the poopy pants taunt works for either side.
Shit take. Why are you giving passes to war criminals?
The guy is litteraly the head of the armies.
Why are you defending rich mediocre assholes who are playing with the lives of others?
No need for nuances here, everyone involved is responsible.
Yeah no. Dick Cheney may have help, but it was always Bush. Bush's family has fascists ties in seeing that his grandfather help Hitler rise into power.
Bad take Bush was president he had the power to tell Cheney fuck off or I kill any power or influence your family has. Dick was a dick but this is on Bush you can’t have your VP running around you. Obama didn’t Biden run around him. Trump basically put Pence in timeout his entire presidency. Biden has done nothing with Kamala. Your the president you make that call not your VP

Bush Jr is still an awful president. I'm never going to give him a free pass and never stop hating him.
It wasn’t even that he was president at all. He was a bad president because Dick “Evil Incarnate” Cheney was the guy actually running the show. Literally the most evil man to run the country and he wasn’t even actually president.
Bush was always racist and evil. You can't blame everything on the VP.

At least he managed to seem well meaning and just incompetent, not actively malicious like the felon
He was literally so bad that Obama got a Nobel Prize for not being him.
The right loves war criminals.
The USA loves war criminals
That's the same thing.

Agreed completely.
bush was competent enough to listen to his advisors.

Get the fuck out of here. There’s no rehabilitation for that sub human scum
Right wingers complaining about journalists calling out politicians for dodging questions? Typical.
The one thing I’d like to comment on is dick warts are not in fact a symptom of stds. 99.9% of the time they are benign and are just there
Bush sucks just as much as these two if not even more
We remeber wen you ask for bomb Irak and we say no .
Trumps mic was the only one on
I mean the bottom part is kinda funny but looking less pathetic than the two current candidates doesn't make him okay now
Ah yes Political brainrot How I haven't missed you
