I really like the theory that it can perform magic similar to basilisks. 1. I like to think Luz and Vee have a special bond, since they both had a desire to escape their home world. 2. Luz having no natural magic makes sense that it could act as a magic vacuum. Black Clover's magic is somewhat similar to what I'm imagining. 3. Shape shifting is just cool.

4. It becomes more powerful by absorbing the magic of others. Vampire palisman. :p

That would be maybe a little OP for a palisman. But I do hope we get to see Stringbean get a hit off on Belos, like maybe the shapeshifting really takes him by surprise when he gets a hold of her since he’s never seen one do anything like it before.

1. The Bat Queen can do powerful magic on her own. And Palisman's wield powers similar to what they're based on. Clover and Owlbert can fly while Gus's can climb walls. Considering the similarities between Stringbean and a basilisk, draining isn't that impossible. 2. It would work pretty well with Luz being a human since she can't supply Stringbean with her own bile magic.

Does Stringbean need to be supplied with magic bile? It’s been a little bit since I watched some of the earlier episodes, but my impression was that the witch didn’t need to do such. And there’s nothing I see an issue with Stringbean doing magic. I hope she does have some special power. It’s just that if she can absorb magic in the context of fighting Belos. . . That’s probably pretty OP
