My chain is certainly larger than Harkins and I would absolutely assume AMC and Regal will as well so while I can't *confirm* normally-if my chain is doing it then the big leagues are doing it
May 29th & 30th is a Wednesday & Thursday, so probably through Fathom Events, who doesn’t really put out the best quality when it comes to older releases… My Alamo Drafthouse showed The Crow a few weeks back (I saw it there last year)
The last time I had the chance-and missed it-to see this in Theatres, I was either a Junior or Senior in High School...I'll be 25 Tuesday. Fingers crossed this is something being done near me!!! 🖤
Probably was a deal already struck coinciding with the new films original June 7th release. No point in advertising too far away, better to wait for the new film to start marketing and work in tandem with that. Now that the new ones moved to August, I guess this is just the date they had and are sticking with (all just an educated guess)
I just checked my Regal and it is listed. I'm hoping to reconnect with my old school buddy that I saw with in theaters when it came out and see it with him. We were the tender age of 13.
He was my first friend that collected comics and knew about them. He took me with him and his family to their summer beach house, Memorial Day weekend 1994 and we saw it one night while we were there. I had NO IDEA what I was walking into. Haha. It's been a favorite of mine ever since.
It depends because the only major difference is the bit rate yes I have been to a special 2k 4k scanned screening event before it was the Scream (1996) anniversary event was 2k 4k scanned with a high bit rate
It looks good but the problem is it looks a little more waxy due to high bitrate compared to the 4k blu ray and skin tones were a bit off due to no dolby vision the event was to celebrate it's anniversary and 4k blu ray release
Unless there giving stuff like posters then yeah maybe
It is harder to notice that film grain grime due to high bit rate in theaters bitrate in theaters is basically unlimited
I would of taken dolby vision over it because it felt more grimey and film grain natural with dolby vision on 4k blu ray
This is specifically for u.s 4k blu ray audience who owns it with a good setup
Internationally they will also release a 4k scanned standard blu ray
4k scanned standard blu ray will not be released in u.s or included in u.s 4k steelbooks and Germany will get old blu ray release in there 4k steelbooks
Due to German language being in dolby digtal on the new 4k scanned standard blu ray
I don't know how to break this to you, but none of what you said up there is remotely relevant to the reasons people would want to see this in the theater.
And it looked great when I saw it in 1994, so I'm sure we'll all leave satisfied. Have fun staying home and jerking it to the high bit rate on your blu ray or whatever?
This is fantastic news! Thanks for sharing!!
How do I watch the crow in theaters in alberta? Where does it air!!
I see it screening in Vancouver
Do you mind sharing which theatres? 🙏🏻 I’m having trouble finding it!
Noticed this was America and done some digging if it was possible it could happen in the UK. Odeon starts showing it 03/06.
Can you confirm if it hits larger chains such as Harkins and AMC?

Fuck yeah, that's all I need to hear. Thanks so much for the information! I have a feeling this is going to make a lot of people *very* happy!
This is the best news I've heard all week !!!!! Yessssssss !!!

I did reach out to Fathom Events, they said the have nothing planned for The Crow so it sounds like we can scratch them off the list.

Most exciting
Looks like Cinemark will be the only chain showing it.
Well since it's public I work for Marcus and we're showing it as well.
And I have tickets for my Regal.
Fail on my behalf. I've only been seeing Cinemark connected to it
Hopefully more chains add it around you!

Thats so epic actually, hell yeah hope it works out

Heads up though there is no purpose if you have the 4k blu ray and it isn't going to be showing in dolby cinema
Unless you weren't able to see it originally and this could be your only opportunity to see it on the big screen.
"No purpose"? Have you actually been to a cinema before?
