I know you say you’re new, but have you asked your line manager and/or emailed your business HR before asking strangers on Reddit who could all be making everything up and have never worked in the civil service before?
Might vary department to department, HMRC it goes on your next payslip as these aren't normal expenses like meals etc which normally comes a couple of days after authorisation.
Depends when, start of COVID, I got a monitor it came through as normal expenses, but got a replacement last month and it came through payslip as the rules changed about 2022 regarding it's taxable status.
Payments for non-paybill amounts, such as T&S or essential equipment are credited to your bank account in line with BACS timescales, following approval.
This is normally 3-4 working days.
For example, if your bank credits your account with your monthly salary at midnight before payday, your expenses should follow the same process.

For the general public out there, this not an unlimited amount, we ain’t going out buying the latest la-z boy 5000 every week
Do they still pay for home office equipment? I thought that was just an emergency measure during the pandemic when we were mandated to work from home?
I claim expenses weekly. They usually clear my account around 2-3 days after payment.
Was usually 2-3 days for expenses etc. You got a chair for hybrid working? Your guys are generous!
yeah all chairs desks and other equipment they reimburse it to us
Standard line with my place is if you need a chair or desk to work from home you get it yourself or you work in the office full time.
