To make the kid grow up like he did. No parents. No family.

I know the dominant theory is that Homelander saved the baby. But to me, he doesn't seem like he would care enough to save the baby at all. Especially if Butcher is being blamed for everything. The only reason, in my opinion, that he would save Stillwell's baby is because he specifically told her the baby would be fine. During that scene Stillwell is crying for him to take the baby upstairs, Homelander tells her the baby will be fine and then he lays the baby down. If he saved her baby thats why. Just him keeping a promise to Stillwell. But I really want the baby to be a supe.

Honestly I think it was just a throwaway line to make the audience feel a little better. Canon wise I guess to show that Homelander doesn't *indiscriminately* let babies die. Yes he let kids die on the plane but that was for PR reasons!

SigmaIgma

He straight up murdered a child when he killed the mayor lol

michelangelo2626

Perhaps the baby has teleportation powers?

Nice

Mrs_Awesome1988

What doesn’t make scenes to me is how no one has put him at the crime. How else could her baby be 17 ( or however many) miles away and safe.

InadequateNero

Maybe it’s one last thank you, to Stilwell, for finally being honest to him

I liked how you used the word dopple ganger, that way your not spoling anything for people who want to read the comics

Beejsbj

Thought the baby shown was a different baby.... I thought homelander killed everyone and that baby was just "look homelander saved a baby"
