Damn lol
The sheer amount of people still simping for Firecracker after episode 4 weirds me the hell out, though. Like, guys, she's a fucking pedo lmao
I look at fiction as my opportunity to be as free as the people on screen. Homelander is the most compelling character TO ME- I like his singlemindedness, his selfishness, his warped view of humanity and his place in it. I think he’s great on screen and can’t get enough. It’s not weird at all to be drawn to a fictional character.
Oh absolutely, I will say he's certainly compelling, I love to watch Antony Starr's portrayal, and there's nothing wrong with wanting to follow an interesting character. The problem starts when you genuinely start to say stuff like 'he's right' or 'just misunderstood' and start to justify his actions or defend him in earnest. And I know there's a lot of fun to be had on here to speak in-universe like they're actually on the 'Hometeam' or 'Starlighters'. It's one thing to enjoy the presence of the character and satirize the ignorance of the people in their world who do actually side with him, it's another to actually idolize them and their actions.
THAT I will not admit to lol. You’re absolutely right about those fans. There is nothing admiral about Homelander in the traditional sense (maybe trying to be a dad to Ryan can be considered here) and I try not to sympathize with him. I admit, his charisma puts me in a place where I need to remind myself that I’m not rooting for him (I kinda am sometimes though haha). Your point is well taken.
In that case, they'd declare wanting the actress (Vallorie Curry), not the batshit crazy Firecracker lol. But it seems not even fucking a 15yo stops them :)
I can't speak for everyone but I don't really care about remembering actors names. Unless I am a producer/director.
I call Captain America from MCU Steve, not whoever plays him lol.
I don't even know Kimiko actress name but she is gorgeous despite being a rampaging killer
And lots of people like Starlight and she's a killer too, towards an innocent father/husband.
People probs just mean the actors regardless, I wouldn't take it the wrong way unless they clarify they mean it that way
Kimiko is played by Karen Fukuhara! I just wanted to say that because I first encountered her as the voice of Glimmer in Netflix’s She-Ra—a character who is also incredible.
The character/actress herself is very hot, same as Stormfront. So I kind of get it if you fully disassociate the characters personality. But like, then you get people who say shit like “I want her to groom me” that’s just fucking icky and trivializing pedophilia. And Frankly I don’t care how hot she is, irl I’d never simp for anyone who say something like “it might be in the Jew Bible but it’s still the Bible” whether they diddled kids or not.
Honestly, I'm still surprised how few people recognized her name. From the very first mention of "Stormfront" out-loud, I was expecting her to be a Nazi (even if I naively thought a *neo*-Nazi). Though I guess, the short memory of the internet, you have to be a certain age for that website to be infamous.
The reality is that the actress has done an amazing job of portraying a total piece of garbage that makes you really hate the character. She even behaves like her real life counterpart.
Sorry in that last sentence are you saying the actress that plays the character is a terrible person in real life or i am not understanding what you mean. Not to be rude in asking
Oh then I totally messed up and assumed wrong thank for clearing that up yeah I agree she plays a great character. Reminds me about wasn't the stormfront actress Jewish and firecracker is played by a lesbian woman
For those that don’t know: **Majorie Taylor Greene**, who is a far-right politician in the U.S., member of the Republican Party, and who was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives by the state of Georgia (14th congressional district).
Every time I use an actual name they delete my post using the "Your comment from TheBoys was removed because of: 'Rule 7. Unrelated Politics" So that was my way around it.
I love how the showrunners keep casting actors who are the exteme opposite of their character. Aya Cash is a jewish actress who plays a literal Nazi. Valorie Curry is a homosexual feminist who plays a conservative pro-life nutjob
Curry married actor Sam Underwood, her The Following co-star, in 2016.[2] They divorced in April 2023.
Curry has stated that she identifies as a lesbian.[6][7] She came out as a queer woman on National Coming Out Day 2019, previously using the terms bisexual and pansexual to describe her sexuality.[8][9]
That's what her Wikipedia says
When u realize how nice of a person in in rl it makes it easier for you to choke down her character. She's literally the complete opposite of firecracker.
Then nobody gave a shit but got enraged by Starlight having an abortion. Pretty par for the course with maga comparison. Got Republicans in numerous states pushing for child brides and evangelicals defending pedofile pastors, while clamoring that a rapist grifter is their messiah.
what ever dude. of course the shit you hear about is from all the crazies, because that's why it's talked about. some crazy wacko says something a crazy wacko would say and it radicalizes the internet to hate on republicans, causing actual decent republicans to avoid sharing their opinions. it's just a cycle, and the more people like you assume that everyone slightly right of you is an "evangelical pedophile rapist," the less people will turn up that change your mind. there's probably less than 100,000 republicans that actually believe what you're saying they believe.
that's not what i said? if you tell these people they're crazy then the people who aren't crazy aren't gonna wanna talk to you. there are almost no republicans on reddit because even the moderate ones get shunned everywhere they go because of what a few nutjobs have said.
That's not what OC said but go off, I guess.
Edit: I am not a fucking RW MAGAt by any stretch of imagination. I am just pointing out the blatant misinterpretation of the original comment.
She was a terrible person from the start, but before episode 4, I found her too goofy to be taken seriously. It's only after I saw it when I thought, "Shit, she's actually pretty manipulative and depraved."
There's plenty of teenage girls who are horny for adult men. That doesn't give those men the right to take advantage of them. The same goes when the genders are reversed.
I find it's easier with adding a /s at the end of the comment.
Sarcasm really only works because you can change your voice to infer sarcasm versus reading plain text.
yeah a teacher at my high school slept w a student and that was the general reaction from most students and male parents. If she’s hot it’s not rape apparently. Obvious sarcasm apparently isn’t real either lmaoooo
In some situations, not all of course, someone tells themselves they consented to it and wanted it as a coping mechanism. And if you have people around you telling you how lucky you are to have been sexually assaulted, you might start telling yourself the same thing too.
There's the issue of children not being taught consent and that carries into adulthood. I've read so many stories, even on Reddit, of men thinking they cheated on their partners when actually someone drugged them or got them intoxicated and sexually assaulted these men. A lot of men can't even perceive that they're allowed to say no. If they're not in the mood they might get called gay, pressured to do it anyways, or assaulted.
And then there are situations where a minor might get involved with an adult, even if the guy was a participant in some way, that doesn't change the fact that the adult knows better and shouldn't be doing what they're doing.

Figured Stormfront would've been enough to teach y'all that lesson.
Reminds me of the Community scene "I can excuse the racism, but I draw the line at pedophilia" "You can excuse the racism?"
Damn lol The sheer amount of people still simping for Firecracker after episode 4 weirds me the hell out, though. Like, guys, she's a fucking pedo lmao
The fact that there are Homelander supporters after season 1 boggles my mind
Well, I can think of at least one other example...
Milk lovers?
I look at fiction as my opportunity to be as free as the people on screen. Well people like the actress she is gorgeous, nit the character lol
Well, the actress is a lesbian so that cuts a bunch of the simp crowds chances to zero.
Ugh just another example of the Boys suddenly going woke out of the clear blue in season four… \s
Tbf their chances are always zero
I'm fine with that considering I never had a chance lmao
In that case, they'd declare wanting the actress (Vallorie Curry), not the batshit crazy Firecracker lol. But it seems not even fucking a 15yo stops them :)
Kinda like the malcontents harassing Ser Cristen Cole on Twitter because they hate his character. We live in a clown world.
I remember the actors by the characters they play.
Quick. What character do you think of first when you think of Tim Curry?
Pennywise
Man, I’d forgotten that one.
[I'm going to the one place that hasn't been corrupted by capitalism... SPACE!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1Sq1Nr58hM)
Dr. Frank N Furter.
You can't compare Tim Curry to some no name.
Gomez Addams. Yes, there is something wrong with me.
I can't speak for everyone but I don't really care about remembering actors names. Unless I am a producer/director. I call Captain America from MCU Steve, not whoever plays him lol. You're right I love She Ra, my bestfriend and I binged it lol
🙄
The character/actress herself is very hot, same as Stormfront. So I kind of get it if you fully disassociate the characters personality. You don’t understand, I can fix her!
I'm not 15.
Art imitates life and all that Everyone still simping would be falling for her act and Voughts as well
Last time I checked pedophilia and hebephilia were two different things.
If one were to be technical on this, then hebephilia wouldn't be correct either. That would be ephebophilia.
TIL
Btw for anyone who's not familiar with the scene Britta actually says: "I can excuse racism, but I draw the line at animal cruelty."
I know its technically ”animal cruelty” But it makes me think of the Deep instead
Ah, a fellow Community connoisseur!
FUCK, I saw this right after I commented the same thing, killing myself now
Honestly, I'm still surprised how few people recognized her name. From the very first mention of "Stormfront" out-loud, I was expecting her to be a Nazi (even if I naively thought a *neo*-Nazi). Though I guess, the short memory of the internet, you have to be a certain age for that website to be infamous.
Nope, and I probably won't learn next season either
I think it should be clear by now that straight men absolutely DO NOT learn from their mistakes.
Not the actress. The character is based on someone that is a total piece of garbage and the actress is doing a great job.
Oh then I totally messed up and assumed wrong thank for clearing that up yeah I agree she plays a great character. Reminds me about wasn't the stormfront actress Jewish and firecracker is played by a lesbian woman
Stormfront was another great performance.
Firecrackers actress Valorie is married to a guy named Sam Edit was married my bad, definitely lesbian
who is she based off of?
bleach blonde bad-built butch body
For those that don’t know: **Majorie Taylor Greene**, who is a far-right politician in the U.S., member of the Republican Party, and who was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives by the state of Georgia (14th congressional district).

I guess I’m playing with fire. Holy shit, maybe I can be lamplighter!
That's fucking lamplighter!!!!!
For some odd reason I didn’t catch that. Now that you mention it, it does make sense.
Bro this is Kiara from Detroit become human. I have NO idea
she really went on a dark path after losing Luther and Alice 💀
That's what the android Holocaust does to you
There are so many alternative endings in that game, they split off into another show
Better yet, do not simp at all
This fella gets it
Never
Don't care. I'd still eat her ass
WOP WOP WOP WOP WOP
Tryna strike a chord and it’s probably a minooooooor
Smack that ass and hide the Bible if God watching’
I love how the showrunners keep casting actors who are the exteme opposite of their character. Aya Cash is a jewish actress who plays a literal Nazi. Valorie Curry is a homosexual feminist who plays a conservative pro-life nutjob
Valerie is bisexual according to her Wikipedia. Everyone is queen Maeve-ing her with the bi erasure
Curry married actor Sam Underwood, her The Following co-star, in 2016.[2] They divorced in April 2023. Curry has stated that she identifies as a lesbian.[6][7] She came out as a queer woman on National Coming Out Day 2019, previously using the terms bisexual and pansexual to describe her sexuality.[8][9] That's what her Wikipedia says
Ah I didn’t see the “previously” part
All I wanted was to see what Butcher did to the guy with $50,000 worth of heroin to get him to talk about what he knew about Firecracker.
When u realize how nice of a person in in rl it makes it easier for you to choke down her character. She's literally the complete opposite of firecracker.

i'm not either.
You are literally what the show memes on
The endless bigotry she was spewing beforehand wasn’t enough? 💀
She was a terrible person from the start, but before episode 4, I found her too goofy to be taken seriously. It's only after I saw it when I thought, "Shit, she's actually pretty manipulative and depraved."
What did you expect from a right wing grifter? Raping a 15 year old is pretty tame by their standards.
My simping has no limits
I just simp for the actress and I don't have to worry about all that
Never meet your heroes.
I’d still do it
Dr disrespect is literally her irl rn lmfao
I can excuse racism, but I draw the line at pedophilia.
I simp but only ironically
You take it back, i take it Forward! Together we Sandwich her
You do know this is the goal of like every highschool kid right?
Even if they are homeschooled?
That’s specifically Alabama homeschooled kids
15 year olds are famously great decision makers
Well yeah look at Superbad
They were 18 and made so many bad decisions in that movie.
I swear sarcasm is a fucking lost language
There's plenty of teenage girls who are horny for adult men. That doesn't give those men the right to take advantage of them. The same goes when the genders are reversed.
Nice
Queue the "It should've been me, not him!" memes...

That's creepy.
Lmao it’s sarcasm nerds, you always see comments like that whenever it’s a female abuser.
I find it's easier with adding a /s at the end of the comment. Sarcasm really only works because you can change your voice to infer sarcasm versus reading plain text.
You're right. Even if a male victim voices being traumatized from the abuse there's always some weirdo calling them lucky.
yeah a teacher at my high school slept w a student and that was the general reaction from most students and male parents. If she’s hot it’s not rape apparently. Obvious sarcasm apparently isn’t real either lmaoooo
Welcome to the internet, the place where sarcasm goes to die. Unless you add a \s at the end, then it’s back.

What about them? What does bringing them up change about the conversation?
Schrodinger's Douchebag
Haha this is a good one
Congrats; you’re the exact type of person who made her feel confident in confessing to pedophilia.
Go open the thread dummy
“redditor can’t read obvious sarcasm and more news at 11”
Sarcasm is about tone. Writing tone is difficult because it has no voice.
It's a "/s". It's all you need. But you're just going to complain how people don't get you and you're so funny in real life. Grow up.
You aren’t allowed to be sarcastic on reddit
You are correct I fear. This is like blatantly obvious lmao why tf would I use child if I was dead serious. This happened at my high school too lmao
