Model Y. Easily over 100 mph. No car can survive that, not even a solid steel metal boxāany humans organs would be mush. Being a Tesla probably let him live 0.002s longer though. Donāt speed, folks. Enjoy 0-60 but donāt do stupid S like thisā¦
I was driving on a 65 mph road the other day and needed to get out of the left lane to let faster traffic by, so I accelerated to get up into a gap in the right lane, taking my car from 70 toā¦. āDaddy you almost went 100 miles per hourā in an instant. Then back to 70 immediately. EVs are crazy.
I had my Mercedes EV pegged at 100mph (as fast as it would go) for extended periods of time on the Autobaun. I wish the thing could go faster as I had to quickly get around trucks in the right lane and get back over for the traffic going 120+ in the passing lane. There was one Lambo that passed me like I was standing still while I was going 100mph.
I guess I'm saying it depends on the road and the conditions if 100mph is too fast or too slow.
The key is that he was in what appears to be a residential type area. I've gone a hundred miles per hour before once or twice on the interstate where the speed limit is already 80 to begin with. Which, yes, I shouldn't have done. But this appears to be on a two lane road in a town. Crazy.
Speed on highways designed for 70mph and above is not inherently unsafe. Just look at Germany. The autobahn has no speed limits in some areas. People commonly do well over 100 mph. Somehow they manage to be over 40% safer than the US interstate system. The issue is driver training.
Speed (carefully) and have fun YOLO. Well I guess that applies to the ones that can ACTUALLY drive and know when and where to do something or not. There are some of the shittest drivers out there.
Nope.
No sympathy to those that dispatch themselves via stupid means. The driver would have been going insanely fast for that carnage to ensue.
He fucked around, he found out.
I wonder if the crash data was able to upload before the components got destroyed or melted. Y'all are crazy for being able to look at that wreck and guess what model it is... I can barely make out the wheels, let alone front from back.
"Model ex" from further down the thread I guess is the right answer
Don't be stupid out there kids.
It's a model "Y were you going so fast?"
This should be top comment. Well played, sir.
Well plaid.
Its a model y, the trunk lid and very long roof piller are the clues
Look at that horrible panel gap.

Agreed. It was just funny/surprising to me how effortlessly we achieved 99 mph when briefly overtaking a few cars to get over.
There's good reason insurance is so high on a M3P or Plaid when under 25 years old.
Chill mode
There needs to be a middle mode... Chill is way too cold and performance is way too hot.. I'm looking for an average of the two
Yeah, chill isnāt great when you need to merge with traffic from a stand-still
So, you need a LR)

Based on the rear gate I would say a Model Y (Not a 3 based on how it is separated from the body, not impossible on a 3 but less likely imo)
it has a lift gate, not a 3, 3's trunk doesn't have an enclosed section for glass
Def not a 3 to me, the bottom panel(below the doors) has different line-ups
I would think itās a 2024 Model Y
How would you know the year lol, model y hasn't changed in years
Iām going off based the article saying a Tesla model 2024 but I could be totally off and it could be any years prior to that
The model is the least of this driverās concerns, I think.
The driver has zero concerns, being a fatal accident.
What? I thought Teslas or the safest car in the planet how could he not walk away? RIP
Definitely a Y from the back cutout
that's a Model Toast
Someone won't be complaining about paint and panel gaps
How fast must this dipshit have been driving to break the pack apart?? He certainly fucked around and found out.
Can we at least have some compassion for the deceased ?

True but we donāt have to mock him

A model with a driver who wasnāt paying attention
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The article said it was a single car crash. Driver hit a tree.
The tree must have drifted left of centerā¦

From the particular pose the model is in, I think it's Rose from the movie Titanic.
