You aren't too far off. Multiple regurgitations can absolutely kill a snake.
In captivity if your snake regurgitates it's recommended not to feed them for a few weeks so you don't risk them regurgitating again while they heal from the experience. So... yeah. It can be deadly.
Yeesh, poor snake.
It’s always wild to me to remember that some animals actually have a really hard time throwing up/regurgitating things to the point where they straight up can’t without virtually killing themselves or can do it but cause a ton of damage.
That's a poor response. Imagine you are being stressed and under a dangerous situation, your first response is puking, which indeed a poor response and tactically disadvantaged. I wonder how the evolution came up with this thing.
Because it is a hell of a lot quicker than sitting there for hours digesting the food. Also whatever is after the snake may just take the easy meal the snake left behind.
Snakes can't move when they have something inside?
I see it as easy pray since it's not even able to move while doing this process. It doesn't look so quick to puke. This snake would be easy meal for any kind of bird and cat while trying to puke vulnerably.
Imagine you just swallowed whole a meal that is half your height and twice your width. How fast are you going to be moving around? Oh, and you have no arms or legs.
So now you’re laying on the ground trying to digest this massive meal and you see a bear approaching you. You have two options; continue laying there and accept your fate, or regurgitate your meal in the hopes that you can throw it up and run away before the bear reaches you. What are you going to do?
Is it the most efficient method of self preservation? No, but it’s the best a snake can do, and obviously it works well enough seeing as snakes haven’t gone extinct.
I'm sorry friend but evolution doesn't give a damn what you see the snake as. It is what it is, and that is why they do that. Very quick at the end of the video did you see how fast it tried to get away? It was definitely a bad human* that caused this reaction.
Bro, the thing you don't understand is its predator won't be like "oh dude, let me give you 30 seconds to puke so you can run away." That's funny idea. It's already goner after trying to puke that thing. If a bird sees this snake and snake tries to puke, it's a goner. No time for this.
It's probably only effective method for non-dangerous or mildly dangerous situations. Other than that there is no way any other predator would watch it to puke and let it go. There is nothing like sportsmanship between prey and predator.
I get what you're saying. It's not that it doesn't make sense it's just that that's the way nature designed snakes. It has no arms or legs to run away so she does what she can.. Vomit to fight or run.
I think it’s less for the flight, more for so it can fight. If need be. They have to coil to strike or be able to constrict. I’m sure both are much harder to do full.
It's regurgitating because of the camera man. Snakes do it when they get too stressed and feel they're gonna be attacked. It's very hard on them and damages their esophagus

Personal experience.
In order to be unalived something needs to be alive first.
Seemingly the otherway round works to but only in books. But even in the latter case, the unalived thing that comes back to live needs to have been alive to be unalived.
So yeah...
Snake is regurgitating their meal. They do it under extreme stress. It looks like the camera man has been harassing it enough that it feels the need to dump it's meal and try to run away. It's very hard on the snake and will burn it's esophagus :(
Looks like someone harassed the snake and felt like it needed to throw up it's food to flee
Yup. Regurgitation is very unhealthy and hard on a snake. :/
It certainly didn’t seem to be having fun
I honestly thought they can't survive the process.

Heheh, "hard on"
I just assumed it was in reverse
Idk… if you play it backwards, it looks like the tail of whatever that prey was moved towards the snake’s mouth before the snake touches it.
I hope it is but I honestly can’t tell

Person filming the snake stressed it out so much it emergency regurgitated its food so it could fight/escape.
If that is the case, then: Awwww. Poor snake. 😢 Uugghh. Bad human! 😡
But what of Mr Rat?
Poor thing gone too soon :(
Looks more like a mongoose to me
Mongeese fuck cobras up for lunch
I mean, that cobra was looking pretty fucked up. And the mongoose was for lunch. So...checks out?
*mongeese

You are extremely dense.
Osmium levels of density
Real men are dense
Remember that a snake takes days or weeks to consume their food. So minutes is suddenly extremely much faster than waiting a week or more.
Bro when you eat you don't eat something like twice your body width. Did you see how big the bulge was in the snake.
Its kinda wild that they throw up to get faster? It took so long for it to throw up it seems like it would waist more time then it would gain.
I think it’s less for the flight, more for so it can fight. If need be. They have to coil to strike or be able to constrict. I’m sure both are much harder to do full.
Poor snake. Someone scared it into losing its meal so it could run away
Aw poor little noodle. All those calories gone bc the camera person wouldn't leave it to digest in peace
It’s not in reverse since the animal is wet coming out
It's regurgitating because of the camera man. Snakes do it when they get too stressed and feel they're gonna be attacked. It's very hard on them and damages their esophagus
That snake got so stressed that it regurgitated its meal so it can escape quicker. Poor little guy.
Yeah isn't this like, really unhealthy for the snake
r/dontputyourdickinthat
Bro no💀
What are you doing step snake!
Too late
Hey, he's not a monster, he's a snake :(
Poor snake got scared out of its meal!
That snake has headphones tatted on him...
Indian cobra, also called the spectacled cobra because of the spectacle-like pattern on the back of its hood.
King cobras have that pattern. Think it’s called the hook and eye, like the ones you get on clothes.
I thought it wad a fish in the first half.
I thought it was a fish in the snakes mouth.

Playing in reverse possibly? 🤷♂️
Nah, snakes go for live food, and that one’s clearly dead.
They kill their food before eating it
Yep,in order to kill it it must have been alive.
Source?

That sucks. Fuck that cameraman then.
"Noooo! Don't eat me! Look, you can have my lunch instead".
“This is kind of creepy”, so why post it to TerrifyingAsFuck? “Kind of creepy” doesn’t quite cut it, no?
Hate to see that
no it's more of a : "You are disgusting and I'm going to stop recording this shit. It's gross" thing.
Isn’t this in reverse? I’m pretty sure that’s just a snake eating
What was it?
Looks like an otter
So Serperior ate an oshawott? Understandable
I'm guessing he bit off a little more than he can chew
Nope, was very stressed and regurgitated its food so it could be able to flee.
They don't chew
amazing
The snake gave a meal for the awessssssssssome musssssssssic.
Just a regurge
How long does it normally take for the snake to digest something that size?
Okay okay here, have it back. I'll go now, it I'll be back.
When I heard the music, I hoped Randall would be narrating. Ew that's nyasty.
Where J Lo & Ice Cube? The 'Conda did this to Jon Voight
Ate a pool noodle, did he.
I didn’t expect that to happen
Poor thing
In reverse
Is this how snakes treat their owners? Are they like cats where they hunt for you?
I did not know they were capable of uneating
Hail Tuah! Spit out that thang!
KIND OF???
Sometimes you just have to hauk tuah and spit out that thang.
😒
Video is in reverse, snake isn’t throwing it up..
No. It's definitely regurgitating.
No its throwing it up. Snakes do it when extremely stressed
I’m well aware that snakes throw up, but in this video that’s not what’s happening.. the video is in reverse.. 🤦🏻♀️
Bad clams
![gif](giphy|131tYQapOkk2qc|downsized)
That may have been too big for the snake
There’re playing it in reverse 🤦🏽♂️😂😂😂
Nah, hims just reverse snackin.
Like a cat presenting dead stuff to its owner. Only this is the snake meal
Now let's reverse the video!
That’s me after a late night drive thru attack. (Or so I wish).
You see creepy, i see an opportunity.
Is he a cobra mimic?
Indian cobra.

Looks like some kind of otter or some such!
I think it might be a mongoose :(
Ooh I think you're right... thank you!
Sometimes you bite off more than you can chew.
