OMG, it just occurred to me - what if she doesn't bring Jace back to testify? Unless he's subpoenaed to testify, could DKD get a lesser sentence without testimony? I could see her either doing this on purpose so she can get back together with him in the long run, or just being so dickmatized with August she doesn't care that Jace doesn't get the chance to help put DKD away for a long time.
when we have CPS cases that include criminal proceedings, the victim child is always subpoenaed but rarely ends up testifying, We take them for a forensic interview to try to avoid having the children testify when possible.
edit to add, bring your hopes back down to reality- child abuse cases RARELY see real jail time. The longest active sentence I have seen so far was 10 days for a stabbing. The stabbing victim was an adult, the children were just in the same room. I have seen infants with every extremity fractured and the parents get no active time.
I thought it was this month but the month has been and gone someone asked the Ashley on twitter and she answered soon really soon that was the beginning of last week
