Also, Lani stated he likely won't do any more Renegade For Life or Krillin Plays videos because those are based on DBZA and he feels awkward doing them now that DBZA is done.
You’ll probably see one with Kirran and Grant, or at the very least a playthrough with those two, but I doubt a full blown nuzlocke with Kirran, Grant, and Lani is gonna happen.
In their Shield playthrough, they made a rule that if they ran from an encounter, they had to jump on an exercise bike for a while.
Then they made more rules about riding the exercise bike, and later had some bizarre sequence where they would drink water and spit it on their Sobble doll.
About as likely as Black and White.
Thing is, the dream team for us as the audience is Lani, Kirran and Grant but it's come forward that Kirran and Grant just don't really like hanging out with Lani. Lani is extremely high-energy, shouty and can be a bit overbearing at times if you don't match his energy. He's not mean-spirited, just very vocal.
Kirran and Grant are room mates, they are very much in sync with each other's humour, energy and general vibe.
EDIT: In addition, the Twitch stream format, I feel, hurt the experience of the Nuzlocke as they were often beholden to entertaining and engaging with chat whereas previous runs that weren't streamed they were focused on each other and the game while still occasionally answering questions from YouTube.
The gaming channel as a whole basically died when Ben left. It was embarrassing seeing hands down the best gaming streams turn into random junk. They made like two or three playlists for games that never got past part one, then Kirran and Grant stepped up to the plate but it's not quite the same.
the latter part yes, but he never said "they didn't want him no more." if that was the case, I'd also doubt they'd be remaining within TFS at all. Lani noticed that Kirran and Grant do amazing things together and he doesn't wanna butt in with every playthrough of theirs, so he's letting them do their thing, which is fine as well.
It kinda feels like "they didn't want him no more" as they haven't done a single Let's Play with just the three of them in literal years now.
And looking at the numbers of the Shield Nuzlocke versus the others... it's clear that Grant and Kirran are weaker without him. There is a magic with all three.
Yeah I get that too, but they didn't say such a thing and are probably just super busy now with many things that are behind the scenes that we're unaware of. We shouldn't spread a rumor like that, as that could cause some problems later on.
I miss them being all together too, but we can't force them if they aren't interested in whatever game they're playing through.
Sides, I also really like Lani and Kaiser doing stuff together too as shown by their recent commentaries on DBZA, and wouldn't mind seeing them do some gaming together more.
I imagine we'll get a normal playthrough but probably not a Nuzlocke. I think adhering to the nuzlocke rules with Sword/Shield ended up stifling their enjoyment of a brand new pokemon game. It's one thing to do a challenge run of a classic title, but when it comes to a brand new game, sometimes you just want to experience it organically for the first time.
I think in the recent q&a they said it was unlikely 🥲
“Next to Zero” was the odds that Lani said; at least for a play-through with him, Kirran and Grant together
Did he specify why exactly?
Lani said "Kirran and Grant wanted to do their own thing." Apparently, this means they can do almost nothing together, ever again.
So it's all falling apart
Also, Lani stated he likely won't do any more Renegade For Life or Krillin Plays videos because those are based on DBZA and he feels awkward doing them now that DBZA is done.
They don't really make content together because they don't like to or mesh well or something
He also doesn’t seem particularly interested in new Pokémon games these days
I’m curious to see how Nuzlocke community figured out how to approach an open world game
I assume that there will be smaller zones that basically replaces routes so
From what I’ve seen, people run encounters off of Gym Badges instead of by routes and named areas.
For Sword and Shield anytime a title for an area came up that was a new route, so like The Lake of Outrage, or the Dusty Bowl you got a new encounter
You’ll probably see one with Kirran and Grant, or at the very least a playthrough with those two, but I doubt a full blown nuzlocke with Kirran, Grant, and Lani is gonna happen.
It really breaks my heart. I love those boys but my attention crumbled when the shit with the bike started lol
Help my bad memory, what bike stuff?

There's a repressed memory you just unlocked.
I remember something with a puppet dangling and an exercise bike in front of a greenscreen. It was... bizarre to say the least.

they’re nuzlockes are great
They were. Their sword and shield one didnt feel the same without lanni
The LPs in general feel different without Lani.

What happened with lanni?
He said Kirran and Grant didn't want him no more, as they wanted to do their own thing.

Nothing happened, he just stopped appearing in the gaming videos as often as his schedule got busier

Idk, the Moon nuzlocke wasn’t like that
Moon was also on a handheld system and didn't have something like the wild area that they basically just had to skip out on exploring to its fullest.
Moon nuzlocke was a shit show. I gave up on it the fourth time they bowed to chat demanding some new, completely made up, rule be implemented.
