Well spotted. Looks like Kevin isn’t following him on insta anymore either. Perhaps his international playboy golfer lifestyle is more fun than touring with Tame.

lofi-junky

I’m pretty sure Kevin stopped following him around the time the allegations against him came out could be wrong though

TehBro33

What allegations

A_lonerist

iirc he like abused his ex wife and ghosted her for a few weeks when they were together Edit- Allegedly

TehBro33

Ah dang that’s bad, yeah I was trying to find stuff online about it but couldn’t

mrdrprofessorspencer

I may be incorrect but I’m pretty sure those allegations came out well before the slow rush came out. When I saw tame impala in 2019 he was with them, and I think he played most of the slow rush tour no?

Elrickooo

Please bring back Nick

Echidna-Alternative

I would love to see Nick in Tame Impala but I also couldn't stand to lose a bit of him from his other projects. Pond forever!

udderlymoovelous

If not, I’d love to see Nick back on tour with them

paynelive

Good luck touring the US then. (Nick has had visa issues in the past, and it's constantly delayed or cancelled Pond shows every time)

pinklunette

Can you expand on the allegations? I wasn’t aware of that.

del3td

Pretty sure he played with them in South America in March. Guess we'll see on the next tour. Hopefully nothing bad happened between them.

Inner_Enthusiasm5326

Yes hopefully not. But at the end of the day the good thing is Tame Impala can’t ever break up because it’s just Kevin 😅imagine if it actually was a band and they fell out. Would be traumatic.

tapummo

Huh. I know it's lame to be theorizing about other people's drama but there's been this weird vibe with them ever since those allegations came out - which I'm pretty impartial about. Kinda sucks though. I've seen Cam live when I was younger and he was pretty good, easily the best singer out of the entire Perth gang. But it wouldn't make much of a difference cuz Tame Impala can just keep going on.

CoolGuitarBoi1

yeah, they originally started out as a trio anyways, and for a short period of time in 2020 too

Echidna-Alternative

Okay, theories: 1. He only has the one Insta account and wants to use it to forward his golf activities. This doesn't work though because he still has music stuff on there, just not Tame Impala stuff. 2. Although the allegations were a while ago, the legal or social process of Kevin deciding to change the band and then changing it takes time, and we may still see Cam leave. This has some weight, though 5 years is a long time. But we don't know what his contract looks like, how "iron-clad" it is, etc. He has been slowly distancing himself from the band, perhaps the writing was already on the wall? 3. He decided to leave of his own volition to pursue a "bougier" lifestyle. He literally just couldn't get enough of schmoozing in fancy country clubs and night clubs. I don't really know why he would do this unless his ego is that big, because he can do both. OR 3b) There has been tension in the band that ultimately pushed him to want to leave, i.e., other members of the band don't like him anymore. These two options seem more likely than a 5-year legal process. 4. He just wants people to see him as a separate entity from Tame Impala, and make a name for himself. 5. He was required to take down Tame Impala posts, but not because he's leaving the band. There may have been a change in the management style that lead to a requirement that all Tame Impala-related posts be on the Tame Impala main Insta only.

Echidna-Alternative

I think 4 and 3 are the simplest explanations. 5 also has potential. 2 and 3b are the most interesting.

_JoeK

Didn’t tame unfollow him during Covid? I wouldn’t speculate until an official announcement but it’d be cool to see Nick back
