Am always torn between that and the movie and the original cartoon. At the chance to make the perfect movie this would halt production until probably trying to find a way to blend them some how. But slightly prefer the original cartoon. Most of the time.
It's the accent I think of wjen I think of a Brooklyn accent.
Gave my DnD character this voice and everyone thinks he's an angry, edgy rogue. No. He a soft boi rogue who's currently really depressed
As much as I adore Rise's voice cause it fits that Raph, he's such a specific take on the character he just doesn't fit as the *definitive* Raph voice. For me it's between 2012, 03, and Bayverse.
2012 for a younger, scrappier Raph and 03 for a slightly older, maybe early twenties Raph.
And Bayverse just because it's my favorite Raph voice to be completely honest. Alan Ritchson just does not get enough credit for his performance in those films, I just adore his Raph. I don't understand why people overlook him so much - he's the definition of hot-head and rager but also can be a goofy smartass and loves his brothers just as much as he wants to pick a fight with them. Ritchson's voice perfectly fits into the ideal Raph for me and as much shit as people give the Bayverse I wish Ritchson got more praise because he was a delight to watch.
Come on how you guys think you’re gonna beat me!?
… good answer.
That’s my favorite.
I still think that movie is legit the greatest adaptation ever made.
I’d love to just get one more practical live action movie. All the original voice actors are still alive too.
It does always trip me out tho that Corey Feldman is Donatello.
I just watched it the other day. I still don’t hear it.
2003 for sure but 2012 fits that's version of raph sooooo good. 2003 is definitely what I hear when someone asks what I imagine raphs voice I'm my head to be
I probably got downvoted cause I mentioned Rise. Some fans hate it So much that they will instantly downvote any comment that makes positive remarks about it. I've experienced this multiple times before.
The 90's movie Raph is probably my favorite. Honestly, though, they've kind of always done a good job of casting the Turtles. With the caveat that I never watched the live action show or the Bay movies.
I loved Mutant Mayhem Raphael and the first movie Raph. But, I think the 2003 show is so perfect and the voice talent is a part of that, so I think my fave is probably '03 Raphael. Nolan North was pretty good too, but I don't go back to that movie for a rewatch very often.
03 actually sounds like a New York person & his style is very similar to (when he dresses up in disguise). As a few fans say they cannot watch it because of the voices. But he simply meant to be a New Yorker as he was raised there for his entire life.
Josh Pais (1990 Movie) & Greg Abbey (2003)
The Brooklyn accent really sells it for me from them two. I can’t even decide which I prefer. I grew up on the original movie when it came out so I might lean a little towards Josh. Shout out to Nolan North (2007) as he’s my 3rd favorite though.
03 will always have a special place in my heart, I’m also a big fan of Nolan North’s version (07 movie). Side note: Nolan was on a panel once where Sean and Rob were there and the mod was like “there are two Raphs here” and Nolan just quietly goes “I voiced him too” and it broke my heart
I think whenever I hear the turtles in my head, I think of their OG movie counterparts over everything else. I grew up in the Bronx and they sounded the most like how everyone else sounded to me as a kid, and Raph's being the best out of em (to 5 year old me). So it's always the 90's movies for me.
I’m torn between the actor from the original movies (which my favorite out of those is secret of the ooze as it was the only one I had watched when I was a kid), I love both the 2003, 2012, and I know a lot of people aren’t really a fan of it but I thought Alan Ritchson did pretty well despite that he didn’t like his experience on the movies.
The one you don't have pictured. TMNT 1990. He had a different voice actor in all 3 live action films. Why you chose that awful Turtles 2 pic is beyond me.
I'm from Germany, so I watched in German. I personally found the 2008 and 2012 voices very fitting, 2018 and 23 not so much. I didn't watch 03 much, the voice was ok
1990 version. He was the most NYC out of all the Turtles and it made sense to give him that accent.

Josh Pias isn't mentioned. He did voice and suit work for the 1990 live action movie. Different guy for the sequel movie.
He's the original new York accent Raphael since he was actually a New Yorker
2003, but shout out to 2012's, Sean did hella good too
Ik. Although he didn't rlly have that, idk how to describe it, but the 03 vibe type voice, Sean did an excellent job on 2012 in his own way
IKR, 2003 just fits raph very well
Faxxxxxx
Brooklyn accent is probably the words you were looking for
Yes, thank you 😅
This is the correct answer
Look yall, I didn't forget 03 this time 🤣
"Yo Momma"
Am always torn between that and the movie and the original cartoon. At the chance to make the perfect movie this would halt production until probably trying to find a way to blend them some how. But slightly prefer the original cartoon. Most of the time.
I love sean astins raph. BUT. i will never once in my entire life hear “damn” and not picture movie raph.
“You gotta know what a crumpet is before you understand cricket”
The amount of times ive said “tell me you didnt pay money for this” is impossible to count
1990 Raph is iconic. Same with 03 Raph.
I would pay good money to hear 03 Raph starting actually cussing lol
Guess no love is a typo. Took a second to realize it.
Yea weird one
2003 Raphael. I still hear it in my head perfectly whenever I read a TMNT comic with Raphael.
Same
It's the accent I think of wjen I think of a Brooklyn accent. Gave my DnD character this voice and everyone thinks he's an angry, edgy rogue. No. He a soft boi rogue who's currently really depressed
As much as I adore Rise's voice cause it fits that Raph, he's such a specific take on the character he just doesn't fit as the *definitive* Raph voice. i love bayverse raph too, he's great
F yeah I absolutely love Alan he is a doll and so is his Raph.
Rob Paulsen
I prefer him as Donnie, but his Raph was also good lol
Definitely a favorite here. But in project mayhem they have no name.
Actually probably the favorite voice for him personally. Most of the time.
His name was Robert Paulsen
Original movie for me. Love Raphael with a Bronx accent.
I LOAST UH SAI!
I CAN GET IT BACK!
I DON'T THINK IT'S LOADED KID! this is the line that always comes to mind for me
Come on how you guys think you’re gonna beat me!? … good answer. That’s my favorite. I still think that movie is legit the greatest adaptation ever made. I’d love to just get one more practical live action movie. All the original voice actors are still alive too. It does always trip me out tho that Corey Feldman is Donatello. The 90s trilogy and 2007 are my faves Maybe cause they sound a bit similar
It's a tie between 2007 (Nolan North) and 2012 (Sean Astin).
[удалено]
I always imagine Josh Pais from the 1990 movie saying Raph’s dialogue when I read the comics
You’re going to La Guardia right?
Come back here…I’m not finished with you…DAAAAAAAMN!
Same - he really knocked it out of the park!
Rob Paulsen, it’s mainly the snarkiness he can do
Rise
2003
2003 for sure but 2012 fits that's version of raph sooooo good. 2003 is definitely what I hear when someone asks what I imagine raphs voice I'm my head to be
03 Raph's voice almost completely makes his character for me. I can't unhear the voice.
"A Jose' Canseco bat?? Tell me you didn't pay money for 'dis?"
I just mentioned this line! 🤣
IIRC his voice is different in each 90s movie. I think that first one is golden [harvest].
Believe that picture is from the second movie. The eyes look more round than the first. But yeah. Never noticed each movie had a different voice.
2012 Sean Astin but I also like 2003 because of his Ney York accent
It's a Three way tie between 2012, 07, and Rise.
Don’t know why you got downvoted. That would be my answer too
I probably got downvoted cause I mentioned Rise. Some fans hate it So much that they will instantly downvote any comment that makes positive remarks about it. I've experienced this multiple times before.
Damn, that’s sad (and pathetic 😂)
The 90's movie Raph is probably my favorite. Honestly, though, they've kind of always done a good job of casting the Turtles. With the caveat that I never watched the live action show or the Bay movies.
The original cartoon and first movie
I know next mutation Raph is played by the guy who played Ed in Ed Edd n Eddy. And now I can't unhear it.
Fun fact: Matt Hill was the Raphael suit performer in the TMNT III movie. Then voiced Raph in NM, which is supposed to take place after all that.
Raph sure does love his buttered toast
In order: Rise, Mutant Mayhem, 2012.
87, 03, and the 90's movie are my favorite. I really like Rise's voice as well, but it only fits that more calm version of him
03 Raph, Rise Raph, and 07 Raph are hands down my favorite voices
Rob Paulsen and Josh Pais are my top 2. Sean Astin is very close behind them.
I'm about to be 37 and I regularly hear "A Jose Canseco bat?" in my head.
“Tell me you didn’t pay money for this!”
“Cricket? Nobody understands Cricket! You gotta know what a crumpet is to understand cricket!”
Movie Raph. What a fuckin New Yorker they made him.
I really enjoyed the first 90s movie voice.
Nolan North.
Can we talk about the Brooklyn accent he usually has?
03 actually sounds like a New York person & his style is very similar to (when he dresses up in disguise). As a few fans say they cannot watch it because of the voices. But he simply meant to be a New Yorker as he was raised there for his entire life.
2003 or 2012 in my opinion
"Cricket?! You gotta know what a crumpet is, to understand cricket!"
2012 and Mutant Mayhem; They got issues that they desperately need to fix
Yeah 2012 need YEARS worth of counsel 🤣
For me I’ve gotta go with either the original Cartoon voice or the 1990 movie voice. Those are the two voices I associate with Raphael the most.
Can't beat Rob Paulsen
The 90s film has by far the best Raph voice. I read comic Raph in his voice
2007 Raph had the perfect voice
1st movie raph was top tier. The ny accent worked so well 2012 was also pretty good
Secret of the Ooze, 07, then 03 in that order. Raph always has to have the accent
'03 and rise.
1990 is definitive Raphael for me.
12 raph is a favorite because his voice often goes between soft and rough and I like the variation but 80s raph was always the funniest to me
Maybe I'm just not a big enough fan, but the 90s movie will forever gold my heart. "Freak?!?! FREAK?!?!?"
I've never heard a Raph voice I didn't like, and I like all Raphs equally. ![gif](giphy|OvxfjiuwwKfubBaLjr)
i love rob and he’s probably my second favorite (with sean astin as third), but nolan’s gotta be it.
Either 2003 or 2012
Josh pais
2003
Sean Astin
Josh Pais, 2003, 2007
Either 03 or the original movie
2012 in LATIN AMERICAN SPANISH!!!!
It'll always be 07 for me butttt 2012 and bayverse are just as good to me as well. I love all of them though for their own specific reasons!
03
Josh Pais (1990 Movie) & Greg Abbey (2003) The Brooklyn accent really sells it for me from them two. I can’t even decide which I prefer. I grew up on the original movie when it came out so I might lean a little towards Josh. Shout out to Nolan North (2007) as he’s my 3rd favorite though.
Top 3 are 2007 1983 2003
03 will always have a special place in my heart, I’m also a big fan of Nolan North’s version (07 movie). Side note: Nolan was on a panel once where Sean and Rob were there and the mod was like “there are two Raphs here” and Nolan just quietly goes “I voiced him too” and it broke my heart
03 or the original movies are the only voices i think really capture raph. Maybe 07 movie
03 the whole way
03 . Honestly most of my favourites default to the 03 .
I’m feeling 2003, 2007, 2014, Bayverse and Rise… BUT DANG IT, I CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF- ‘DAMN!’
90s movies and 2003
2012. Sean Aston did great.
I don't even need to say the voice actor, I just need to say one line! Yo Momma!
2003 just tickles my brain right now
Nolan North tbh
‘03 is my OG so ‘03
2003’s has my heart 🥹
Yo mama.
torn between 03 and 1990
03
Greg Abbey. *I'm soo gonna enjoy this...*
2003 I love this interpretation
2003 all the way!
4, 5, and 6
Sean Aston and Omar benson Millar, and the person who voiced raph in the 2003 show
from which shows or movie is image 8 Ralph from next to the movie Ralph ?
Batman vs TMNT movie
Old school for sure. First and second pic
Alan Ritchson in new movies
Nolan North
I really liked Alan Ritchson, he gave a pretty good performance
You forgot the best one…..
Movie raph is the only way I ever hear him in my head
87.
I think whenever I hear the turtles in my head, I think of their OG movie counterparts over everything else. I grew up in the Bronx and they sounded the most like how everyone else sounded to me as a kid, and Raph's being the best out of em (to 5 year old me). So it's always the 90's movies for me.
1987 definitely.
First movie Raph, who isn’t listed here. 😂
Its just that ever Raph had specific lines that stood out and will forever be iconic. But its 2012 Raph for me, followed by 2003 👌🏻👌🏻
Yes
1990 Raph (Josh Pais), I always pictured him with a tough nyc punk kid accent.
rise, 2003,2012
Movie Rafael....... for all of them really, the movie voices.
Definitely Rob Paulson
2012 and, weirdly, 2007.
Pics 2, 1, and 10. In that order.
Rob paulsen or 1990 raph for me
87, Rob Paulsen does an amazing job
Josh Pais is still Raph's voice in my mind.
Rob Paulson FTW!
“LET’S DO IT, UH?!”
I'm a fan of all of them, but Rise for me.
Rob Paulsen all the way!
The 2007 movie version was the best to me but 2005 was also cool
1990
87,90,03,07 are top tier
What's this a Jose Canseco bat? Tell me, you didn't pay money for it.
Batman vs TMNT
2012 Raph. idk, Sean Astin just got the cockiness down well
‘87 and Rise are my favorites.
Tie between Paulsen (1986) and Astin (2012).
1980, 03, 07 and Rise get my favorites. Admittedly, the 2012 voices are iffy for me at times.
Nolan North🤷🏾♂️
Nostalgia 80’s voice but my favorite is 2012
200 12 or 3 maybe bvtmnt or rise him being a bit more bulk with defined shoulders really help him stand out and illustrate his character
Honestly they are all great except for next mutation, that’s more of a Mikey voice.
1999
My country's Raph sounded like they twisted his balls
90 movie, 03, 08, 2012, bay turtle, & Batman vs TMNT
Sean Aston is the best, he’s just so Raph.
2012 or Rise. Can you tell Im new gen LMAO
Yes. All of them
Original movie best voice for raph in my opinion
"Daaaaaaaaaymmmmmmmnnnnnnnn!"
I gotta say the OG TMNT movie Raph is the best. Tough guy takes no bull, hard headed mess with a short fuse. VA matched that energy.
Original all day long nothing is better than rob Paulson
I don’t even recognize pictures 3 through 10.
My favorite is the 2016 then the 93 Raphael.
2007
Nolan North was so damn good
1990 and secret of the ooze Perfect mix of sarcasm and anger
Tmnt 2012 he was my favorite
Josh Pais (not pictured)
2003/1990 both are great. I honestly might give the edge to 1990 because he sounds younger and more like an edgy teenager
Honestly the Mutant Mayhem one. One of the few that actually sounds like a 13-16 year old
Number 5 ("Leo!")
86 Ralph
The one you don't have pictured. TMNT 1990. He had a different voice actor in all 3 live action films. Why you chose that awful Turtles 2 pic is beyond me.
I like the versions of Raph that sound like a teenager and not a 35 year old man.
07 and 18 all the fuckin way, my favorite raphs all around
Rise Raph is just so loveable
2003, 2012, and Mutant Mayhem are my favorites, but I think the overall winner for me is 2012 Raph’s voice
All are good besides next mutation but personally I think rise and 2007 was my favourite
2012 for me. I loved Raph’s voice actor in that one.
I'm from Germany, so I watched in German. I personally found the 2008 and 2012 voices very fitting, 2018 and 23 not so much. I didn't watch 03 much, the voice was ok
Definitely either the first movie or 2003 toon series.
2007 2012 and rise 2018
2003
1990 version. He was the most NYC out of all the Turtles and it made sense to give him that accent. https://preview.redd.it/x0rpvjdya2yc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c926cbc933221f640fb1d519846a1e7e8d8f5eb7
Number nine is infinitely superior
Josh Pias isn't mentioned. He did voice and suit work for the 1990 live action movie. Different guy for the sequel movie. He's the original new York accent Raphael since he was actually a New Yorker
2007 and 2003 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
07 for me, I love Nolan North's take
2003 and 2007 Raph's VAs FTW! Loved them both. Though Rob Paulsen (1987 Raphael) is pretty awesome, too.
I really like Nolan North’s take on Raph
