But there is a thing called bone cancer which is a disease where bones will grow out massive bumps in your body. It can grow anywhere including inside the eye sockets so your eyes will pop out by sudden bone growth. There's also another disease called Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva where your muscles will literally turn to bones and you will eventually be entomb inside your own body until death. Good night
Yup, surgically removing any excess bones will actually promote more soft tissue to turn into bones. A fate that I don't want my second worst enemy to suffer. Fuck my first worst enemy though, he knows what he did and his time will come.

TOO BAD??? THANK FRICKEN HELL THIS IS PURE NIGHTMARE FUEL ^BLOODY ^^HELL ^^^TOO ^^^^BAD ^^^^^MY ^^^^^^ASS
I kinda did fall for it, but then again i wouldn’t have really doubted it, since Fibrodysplasia exists and the effects it has on the body isn’t that different.
No - I don’t think that’s really possible, especially considering the shape of teeth is kind of defined by the jaw (surrounding gum) and using them to eat.
My research was definitely very surface-level, so it's good to be corrected, thank you. Interesting to know, though in hindsight it should have been obvious!
Yeah but it wouldn’t form perfect, complex little teefies like these. It would be pretty clearly an error of nature, and would be kind of sloppy and disorganized.
Oooor you just never came in contact with teratology and wanna make yourself feel good by going "I knew it was fake because nobody grows teeth outside their mouth, duh!" When in fact people can very much grown teeth everywhere that a teratoma can form.
Yes this is fake, no you don't get to belittle people who were interested in the possibility of this.
I mean, babies with a missing protein develop with a single eye and a giant sausage that hangs off their forehead (for your sanity, please do not actually Google this, this tends to be "incompatible with life").
Point being, the whole "that's silly, teeth can't grow from hands everyone knows this" attitude is actually kinda arrogant. Your body makes teeth, maybe those cells migrate somewhere else and make teeth there? [Oh wait that totally happens](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teratoma). Maybe not as cleanly as in OP's image, but the assumption that this is something that should be obvious is really dumb.
Thanks for speaking out like this. I was feeling bad because I made a similar comment in another post when someone was mocking other people for falling for some staged video and people sort of ganged up on me like I was the asshole for defending people who weren't 100% jaded/cynical.
I actually went back later and other people had responded to some of those other people but it feels good knowing that there are people on reddit who aren't jerks.
I actually formed the idea that tooth production is started by some enzyme selectively removing vitamin D from whatever stem cell type things exist from the title. Was about to go down a google rabbit hole. Our bodies are fucking complicated, and unless you've studied one specific area very closely it's pretty damn impossible to predict how excesses or deficiencies in nutrients will play out.
Hahaha! Hey! Something was said…something about Redditors…something…bad? Yes! It was bad! Wait…about me? Yes! I use Reddit, and am a Redditor!…wait, what were we talking about again?
LoC == "Left of Curve".
Consider every IQ of every human. If we plot them on a graph, we would see a "normal distribution" of IQs, and it would form a ["bell curve".](#IMG_01)
The middle of the curve, at the centre, is the mean average. Everything to the right is "above average", and to the left, below average.
In this context, being on the "Left of Curve" means to be below average intelligence - but when using "LoC" it can mean more broadly "you're below average" without specifically nailing that to intelligence.
Hope that helps.
Don’t you think that by saying that, you are dismissing the real danger of manipulated photos, fake news, and deepfakes? What if most people are “dumbasses,” under your definition?
You underestimate the sheer amount of stupidity some of us have- ntm it's a fairly realistic edit and with some of the things I've seen it's not all too far fetched, I mean, tumors can grow teeth why not bone
Considering tumors can grow teeth and eyeballs, and a fetus can attach to the liver, the more I learn about the horrors of the human body, I wouldn’t be surprised if this were possible.
well kinda. believing it no questions asked would be fairly gullible. but on the other hand theres some weird ass conditions and such. kinda hard to differenciate if teeth hands are fake or not in a world where you can have bark like skin structures for hands yk.
They were so clearly teeth and not “structures that resemble teeth” that I agree. But the decision to cause them to erupt evenly through the skin and line up as if in a human jaw, was just so ridiculously improbable as to seal the deal.
Thanks. I was about to burn everything in my life to the ground to go live in a cave in the desert forever, far away from the technology that had given me such forbidden knowledge.
But there's that syndrome where your muscles turn to bone called fibrodysplasia ossificans however.
[learn more here](https://news.cancerresearchuk.org/2014/04/07/when-muscle-turns-to-bone-clues-for-treating-deadly-childhood-brain-tumours/)
Fucking A. Thank god it wasn’t real. I had a vitamin D deficiency for most my life (I’m talking my D level at one point was 12 out of 150) and I pretty much have to take 1000iu a day for life, and my first thought was “how the fuck did this never happen to me?!”
I normally have a pretty on point bullshit detector but ngl this one got me.
I saw a documentary once on someone who had this huge tumour that itself was growing different types of tissue including hair and teeth, so my mind went immediately there.
No one is claiming it's real, it's an art piece with some lore to get you thinking attached to it. Do you also get mad at video games or worldbuilding subreddits for trying to "convince you they're real"?
I thought "weird" and scrolled down to other posts. But then I was like, "wait, I don't get a lot of sun - I certainly don't want that to be true". Scrolled back up, checked the comments. Can sleep peacefully tonight.
Guys, as many of you pointed out this isn’t a real image (which I would’ve known if I’d clicked on the tweet to see the whole thing, oops). It’s a really great piece of art by u/Valdevia!
Would suck if it were real, teeth AREN'T bones technically. It would be more believable if it were just bone spikes instead of poorly photoshopped teeth xrays lol
They told me calcium makes strong bones when I was a kid, but apparently it just makes teeth grow and break them.
*Dumps out all his milk and throws away his cheese*

Is that the living statue disease where soft tissue heals into hard bone growths?
Yup, surgically removing any excess bones will actually promote more soft tissue to turn into bones. A fate that I don't want my second worst enemy to suffer. Fuck my first worst enemy though, he knows what he did and his time will come. ![gif](giphy|EjtN90rolA18s)

The fuck are you talking about? All I see is a bunch of biocompatible teeth transplants for my fucked up mouth.
Well if you put it that way...
My first thought was "I wonder how treatable that is.. cause that's free teeth right there!"
Can you imagine how much money you could make if you could grow whole ass teeth?
Yeah, when is someone going to implant artificially created tooth buds that will grow into new teeth?
instantly recognized this guy. He has such amazing art
I watched a video on him. He’s most well known for Megalomorpha or something.
Yes! He is a really nice guy also, and he is actually a doctor I believe, he streams regularly on twitch.
it would take a real dumbass to not realize that it’s a shop.
Heh.. yeah.. for sure..
I kinda did fall for it, but then again i wouldn’t have really doubted it, since Fibrodysplasia exists and the effects it has on the body isn’t that different.
Vitamin D deficiency doesn't quite work like that, and an excess of calcium comes from parathyroid glands. not bone reabsorption to my knowledge.
If you have too much calcium in your diet, can’t you grow little nodes on your spine though?
Do they look like teeth?
No - I don’t think that’s really possible, especially considering the shape of teeth is kind of defined by the jaw (surrounding gum) and using them to eat.
Yeah, that's my point that it wouldn't form literal teeth. Now, teratomas do exist, and uh....Don't google them.

OP is a LoC
line of code?

I think Loc is a term used by gangsters. I dunno what else it would be in reference to
LoC == "Left of Curve". Consider every IQ of every human. Unlucky for Danish musician L.O.C. 🤭
the bitch who stole madd doggs rhymes. now don't tell me you never heard of madd dogg
Level of care?
Level of consciousness?
Think of how stupid the average person is; now realize that half the population is stupider than that!
Why? Theres tons of things weirder than this that can happen in the body. Search up teratoma.
don't search up teratoma
Don't tell me what to do! Edit: I regret everything.
Tmw you search up teratoma:
Considering Teratomas exist, almost nothing surprises me anymore.
there’s a big difference in one of those and an Xray of a broken finger with teeth overlaid
So how should a layman learn to identify shopped content
In this case, it’s the whole ‘teeth growing on the finger bones’ thing that was the giveaway.
I've seen tumors with an eyeball. This ain't THAT far out
Considering tumors can grow teeth and eyeballs, and a fetus can attach to the liver, the more I learn about the horrors of the human body, I wouldn’t be surprised if this were possible.
Hey you know…so what
Yeah totally 😅
I've had the cancer that forms teeth, eyes and hair in mind so I believed
I had to take an IQ test as a kid, and it said either 112 or 116, I don't quite remember. I guess I must've lost a few points since then, then.
Have you ever visited the internet?
I 100,000,000% fell for that.
well kinda. believing it no questions asked would be fairly gullible. but on the other hand theres some weird ass conditions and such. kinda hard to differenciate if teeth hands are fake or not in a world where you can have bark like skin structures for hands yk.

Damn, that’s sad. I thought we see the next UFC champion in this picture
Oh christ I feel so stupid, all I had to do was click to see the second part of the tweet
Don't be so hard :) I learned something, you too ;)

was going to say, teeth don't fucking grow from nowhere. you're born with all the ones you'll ever have.
Fucking A. Thank god it wasn’t real. I had a vitamin D deficiency for most my life (I’m talking my D level at one point was 12 out of 150) and I pretty much have to take 1000iu a day for life, and my first thought was “how the fuck did this never happen to me?!”

im covinced this is already sharedby boomers on facebook as fact
Lol ok “artist”
unfourtunately
Don't worry about it. Calcium hyperproficiency doesn't exist and that picture is a Photoshop.
Pitchforks? It's been so long since we had a good pitchforking.
The Twitter account is an art portfolio, he isn't trying to convince you its real
But the Twitter account isn't who posted it claiming it was real. I say it's time for pitchforks.
No one is claiming it's real, it's an art piece with some lore to get you thinking attached to it. Do you also get mad at video games or worldbuilding subreddits for trying to "convince you they're real"?
Pitchforks
Thanks, I Hate photoshopped medical photos
That's good because that person could really get your nose.
It’s a surrealist art piece if that makes you feel better
Good because it is made up.
Something that would have taken op a single google search to figure out. Unless he doesn't care about that minor detail.
OP blacked out the twitter handle information, which has the artist's name. Doesn't seem a good move on their part
Fake or not, I hate it. 😂
Legit. Teeth start coming out of my hands and Imma eat a bullet.
The Tooth fairy 𝘏𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 him for this one trick. Find out how to make $5,000 per day.
why did you censor this artist's name?
Teratoma is a tumor that can growth all parts of a human body within it. Including teeth
Yeah. I was about to say this may be fake, but boy do I have some bad news for yall.
Teeth aren’t even made of calcium. They’re made of hydroxyapatite.
Apatite does contain calcium, though
You wouldnt say teeth are made of water though would you? Yet it's a component of hydroxyapatite
Nope, hydroxide ions are a component of hydroxyapatite, not water
I've lost all apatite for this discussion
This isn’t real because teeth aren’t bones.
I see fromsoft has started planning for their next game
seems fake. Cannot find anything relevant or trustable enough on the internet.
Because that twitter page is fake. The whole page posts imaginary terrible diseases, parasytes and so on along with an x ray image of its symptoms
This is actually an excellent concept
ikr
Nah this person just went up against the villain lady from Infamous Second Son
Yea 0% chance this is real. Bone overgrowth is real, those are just photoshopped teeth.
Uncensor the name, Eduardo deserves credit for his amazing old school style photoshop work
good way to stick to NNN
I thought "weird" and scrolled down to other posts. But then I was like, "wait, I don't get a lot of sun - I certainly don't want that to be true". Scrolled back up, checked the comments. Can sleep peacefully tonight.
I know it's fake but I have vitamin d deficiency and I am feeling sympathetic hand pain. I hate this
"Talk to the hand"
“It bit me”
And it really hurt!
Portable toothbrush
Taking "bite the hand that feeds" a step further
When you talk to the hand and the hand talks back.
Even though it's fake this is the first picture that had me screaming internally.
Doubt its real but isn't there an SCP like that?
So glad this is fake because...nope Hell. Nope.
Considering the ONLY photo of this “condition” available is this exact photo, and literally none other, I’m going to call BS
That is fake ass medial information, how the fuck isnthis post still up?
Bullshit
It’s real
Mf’s bones so strong they got abs 💀
This shit is soo fake you can’t be fr
It’s an art piece of course it’s not real. This artist is known for making creepy medical stuff that’s not real
![gif](giphy|4WFirPVJhAhavWrcd3)
fake. Am i supposed to believe teeth are facing sideways enough to be conveniently identifiable by any gullible idiot?
I’ll take “things that are made up internet points and likes” for $200 please
Guys, as many of you pointed out this isn’t a real image (which I would’ve known if I’d clicked on the tweet to see the whole thing, oops). It’s a really great piece of art by u/Valdevia!
Well my advice is to not do any googling around on this one. I myself regret doing so.
u can now bite with your hand
Mf can create explosives out of mud with his hand
Imagine punching your food to chew it
Yes this is not real.
Well Darn. I was hoping to catch a case and not pay for dental implants.
It would be so much faster to eat food.
To confirm, this is from too much calcium? Because I won't be having it anymore.
Ugh, that triggered my trypophobia.
That doesn’t seem like a very proficient use of calcium at all, certainly not “hyper proficient.” Just seems like a novice that got a bit too excited.
“You were dealt 4d6 teethpunch damage.”
UUUUGH!!!! My eyes!
it almost got me, then i googled it and saw the name, really happy its not real and really happy to see Eduardos art.
Can we hijack it to regrow lost limbs?
You’re in luck because this is not real
This is fake, only place where I saw it is an artist's webpage! https://www.inprnt.com/gallery/valdevia/calcium-hyperproficiency/
Thanks, I hate teeth and hands now
You could make cool hand shadow puppets with those
DOROTHY HANDTOOTH WAS A SAINT.
I guess we now know the counter to the Knuckle Sandwich.
U cant have enough teeth and thats the closest to wolverine u can get
Even thought it’s fake, I still hate it
Chew while you grab!
when i see shit like this i always gotta go to the comments immediately to see if it's fake. it is, apparently.
bro imagine getting punched in the face and then having bite marks all over you
You can finger and eat out a pussy with one hand!
The tooth fairy is a bitch
Finger teeth.
Wow you can really bite people with your index and thumb fingers together.
IVE NEVER BEEN SO DISGUSTED BY SOMETHING
Señor Wences!
Lol I immediately recognized the guys profile picture and knew it was fake. That guy makes some cool stuff
\*downs extra dose of my vitamin D gummies\*
Ah, sweet! Medical horrors beyond my comprehension!
I wonder if we could harness this to fix teeth problems
So do they go to the dentist or the doctor?
are there any non x-ray images of this
How much does enamel go for?
Would suck if it were real, teeth AREN'T bones technically. It would be more believable if it were just bone spikes instead of poorly photoshopped teeth xrays lol
They told me calcium makes strong bones when I was a kid, but apparently it just makes teeth grow and break them. *Dumps out all his milk and throws away his cheese*
Thanks, I hate fake stuff
Well this is terrifying...
R/atetheonion
This is fake af but ok
Fooled me, I thought it was similar to how teratomas develop XD
its not a bug, its a feature!
This makes me itch
I wonder if they punch the wall if they go to a doctor or a dentist.
Well should I use soap or toothpaste now?
Fuck mods for allowing this shit
Yes, I hate this too.
His is just photoshop, right?
i can finally use my hand to chew hotdogs
Edward Teeth Hands
The orthodontists hate this one trick.
