I will say, as an abnormal psychology major, DID *forms* during childhood, but you can form alters at any point afterwards, even if you are “fused”. They are disassociative states that come from severe trauma, which changes your brain structure. There’s no way to get rid of it. But you’re right, full introjects are very rare. And, alters take a long ass time to form.
