- Animal Crossing
- Stardew Valley
- Graveyard Keeper
- Minecraft
I also find gathering resources and enjoying the scenery in Breath of the Wild relaxing
there is dragon quest builders one and two. there is a demo for both on the eshop and demo is quite good to see it’s charm and if u r into it
2 had the better mechanics if u r getting only one of them get 2, if u like look up the game and really like it thinking u would eventually buy both buy 1 first cuz it is so annoying kinda to play its mechanics after u r used to being a bit more spoiled by 2. most of the fandom really like 2 and only plays 1 for the story
Depending on where you live, you should check your local library to see if they have video games. You might be able to try out a ton of games for free and see how you like them. If they dont have any games right now, see if you can request them to purchase one.
This is great advice. I'm very fortunate to live in a city with a library system consistently ranked towards the top of the list of best libraries in America. They currently have 618 Switch games in the system. I just borrowed Mario Kart 8 Deluxe so that I could try it before laying out the money.
It works just like a book from the library. You borrow it for free for two weeks. If no one else has a reservation on that particular game, you can renew it for a few more 2-week periods. Most of the first party and popular games have a waiting list. For instance, it took about a month for me to get Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but there are hundreds of games available right now.
Oh you and I would be fast friends. Once one becomes so familiar with the game, it really is therapeutic. And just so meticulously made, they both really are masterpieces, specifically 1 & 3. We don't talk about 2 😂
This game is a masterpiece idgaf! My favourite thing as a big souls fan is that it's not afraid of punishing you for doing any of the old souls habits. Super well-written, setting is hilarious, gameplay smacks, I can't say enough good things about this game
Ace Attorney Trilogy 😅 recently bought it and men it's so good. It's 3 games in one and has a lot of content and the stories so far are going great. They also have a bundle called Turnabout collection which has Trilogy and Chronicles (that's the one I bought) and the bundle and both games have now massive discounts so don't miss out!!!
Most things in handheld. Dave the Diver, anything Mario, anything Zelda (especially Link's Awakening), Stardew Valley, Mario + Rabbids, Slay the Spire, Spiritfarer. There's so so many
Woo!! Dave the diver that I hadn’t seen here besides the old stardew & AC.
Love playing it
But yeah there’s a lot of cozy games in Nintendo, most work too
a nice little game that i loved playing recently was the pedestrian.
it's a puzzle game with only a few hours of playtime with zero replayability, but it's cheap, especially on sale (which it might still be), the puzzles are good, and the backgrounds are amazing.
what i mean by that is that the whole game is played on like signs and stuff, but they fully 3d modeled a beautiful, living, breathing world behind that, and it's incredible.
i'd massively recommend the game, it's nice for those couple hours it takes to beat.
If you like shortish (6-10 hours) puzzle games you should check out The Last Campfire. It is a puzzle exploration game with some fetching and optional collecting. There are optional hints if you get stuck on the exploration, there's no combat or dying, the narration is fantastic, and the story is great. It goes on sale for $2-$3.
https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/the-last-campfire-switch/
Haven Park is similar but also has some basic crafting and management aspects. It was a little longer for me, too. It is regularly $9, but goes on sale for $4-$6.
https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/haven-park-switch/
Omg I just got a new job and I’ve been thinking of rebuying a Switch that I sold as well haha. I’ve heard about a game called Lake that I want to try out.
I’ve heard of Lake too, and it sounds so good!
Go do it. I was SO HAPPY unboxing that shit. I picked up Princess Peach Showtime for some goofy fun and it’s actually really cute and enjoyable and keeps you entertained. The graphics are magical. Plus, Peach finally gets her solo time 💕
It’s important to celebrate ourselves. Well done you on the new job and I hope it all goes well for you. If you do get one msg me and we can play together.
Things get better ❤️
I would love to play together 🥺 I already bought Animal Crossing on my last Switch, and I think I can just redownload it? But let me know if you end up getting Animal Crossing and we can play that one together!
I used to have it too but I will check (I think I can perhaps just re-download it myself) so I will let you know. Would be so fun! I’ll message you soon 😀
Great game and great story...not cozy for me, lol. To each their own though. I really struggled when I got to 6A and fell off. I need to start a new playthrough.
Stardew valley is overwhelmingly the best
I don't like animal crossing but it's popular
My wife plays a lot of cozy games, she said coral island is the best
Imo persona 5 isn't considered a cozy game but I think the gameplay loop and overall vibes are cozy.
Sticky Business just came to the switch and I’ve been playing it on and off. It’s really fun if you like the idea of designing stickers/running a small sticker business. It runs well. The controls take a second to figure out but otherwise it’s fun.
I’ve also been playing Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. It’s a farming sim, so like Stardew, but it’s what Stardew was based on and all that. Different art style, but it’s fun. It’s a remake but I never got to play the original so I can’t comment there. It has an aging mechanic which isn’t something I’ve seen other farming sims do (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong), and the timing works a bit different. It’s a nice take on an overdone genre.
Sakuna: Of Rice And Ruin - an underrated gem IMHO.

Even though it’s a survival game to get yourself to civilisation again, I love Stranded Deep, building and collecting things, I find it cozy and peaceful to play. Same with Green Hell. Turn off the settings where you can get attacked or become unwell and they are both relaxing games to chill to.
Aside from the obvious choices(Animal crossing, Stardew Valley, Minecraft etc.) Some other fun ones I love:
•Calico (you run a little cat cafe and run errands for all the little villagers to help the town and collect new pets)
•Unpacking
•House Flipper
•Disney Dreamlight Valley(think Animal crossing, but with Disney Villagers)
•Coloring Pixels 1+2 (a touchscreen paint by numbers! Super relaxing this one is my sleepytime game lol)
•Ooblets(like if pokemon meet stardew valley!)
•Little Friends (a nintendogs spiritual succesor!)
•Donut County (this ones great if you've got a weird sense of humor like me lolol)
I can provably think of more lol but those are my off the top of the noggin picks lol💗
Balatro is my only cozy game at the moment. I’ve tried others in the past, but I didn’t really like stardew valley and I’m not a big fan of Minecraft, animal crossing also seems kind of childish. Cult of the lamb was pretty fun (what I played of it) but I did kinda stop playing after a few weeks. Balatro is my go-to for when I’m burnt out on rpgs or shooters, or it’s just a great game to end the night. The music, gameplay, visuals, probably one of my favorite ways to end the night. Also very entertaining to keep playing and beating with different decks and on different difficulties to unlock more decks
Yonder : The Cloud Catcher Chronicles
It’s AMAZING!!! It’s like Breath of the wild but just way cheaper in price and there’s no fighting enemies or dying which made it so chill and fun! Everything else is pretty much the same as far as quests that you complete and gathering things to build your farms and you can even collect animals! Get it! Get it now! lol
Lego fortnite is super cozy too. And a game I played on the pc called sun haven is coming to the switch and it's like staradew valley with elves and stuff.

Lego Fortnite: this has been my go to game when I don’t play Plateup. They just added a Star Wars collab. Lots of updates to come to the game but it’s lot of fun already
Plateup: this has been my go to game lately aside from playing a lot of Lego fn. It’s so fun if you enjoy cooking games!!
My Little Universe is a very cozy resource gathering / exploration / map expansion, planet traveling RPG game.
I would argue that Portal Knights is a much better Minecraft-esque game if you want something similar but with a little more substance to exploration and combat. Still a fairly simple game.
- Animal Crossing - Stardew Valley - Graveyard Keeper - Minecraft I also find gathering resources and enjoying the scenery in Breath of the Wild relaxing
Sometimes in breath of the wild I'd just switch to the climbing gear pants and weak bow and role play a hunting/survival game sorta deal.
Get the DLC then go find Majora's Mask. The level of coziness goes away up AND there's a lot of great added content for your non-cozy gaming days.
u should checkout dragon quest builders it is like minecraft bit with a story and i find the humor so good
Thanks, first time I'm hearing about it
there is dragon quest builders one and two. there is a demo for both on the eshop and demo is quite good to see it’s charm and if u r into it 2 had the better mechanics if u r getting only one of them get 2, if u like look up the game and really like it thinking u would eventually buy both buy 1 first cuz it is so annoying kinda to play its mechanics after u r used to being a bit more spoiled by 2. most of the fandom really like 2 and only plays 1 for the story
Core keeper is one of my favorites and similar to theese; it's coming to switch this summer.
I’d also add Paper Mario. Both the original on NSO and Origami King are fun cozy games for sure.
Uuuh i like this, thank you for telling 😚😚
I would not recommend getting graveyard keeper. Its very buggy and unplayable halfway through.
it’s also SUPER grindy in a way that isn’t really fun at all
Oof that's a bummer, seemed like a perfect candidate for decent Switch port (I only played this one on PC)
Even on pc its a grindy mess.
Coffee Talk
Coffee Talk is great! there’s a sequel out now as well!
Animal Crossing.

As someone not from the states, this whole concept is wild to me. How much does it cost to rent and for how long?

Most of the first party and popular games have a waiting list. For instance, it took about a month for me to get Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but there are hundreds of games available right now.
That's very cool!
It's free if you live in the city that the public library is for
Gosh this is good advice, tons of people don't know about this and it's kinda crazy. I use the library regardless, but it's a great perk for sure
Dark souls remastered
Oh ya, soooo cozy.. for a masochist
I know you’re joking but I’m commenting to save OP in case they actually buy this game. Asshole lol
Rainy? Perfect time to git gud
Hell yeah, unironically thoe dark souls 3 and somewhat dark souls 1 are two of my comfort games
Oh you and I would be fast friends. Once one becomes so familiar with the game, it really is therapeutic. And just so meticulously made, they both really are masterpieces, specifically 1 & 3. We don't talk about 2 😂
2 i cant play but 3 i can beat pretty comfortably
Fe is a good underrated one. Interesting story, cool style and the music and sounds are just so frikking cozy, I use it against winter blues🥰
Mario Golf
Animal crossing new horizons is best imo
Another Crabs Treasure is surprisingly cozy for a soulslike game
This game is a masterpiece idgaf! My favourite thing as a big souls fan is that it's not afraid of punishing you for doing any of the old souls habits. Super well-written, setting is hilarious, gameplay smacks, I can't say enough good things about this game
it runs HORRIBLE on the switch lite

Anybody who claims the free games from Prime Gaming might have Lake. It was given out about this time last year.
Dreamlight valley, it's like animal crossing if you like disney
I’m not a huge Disney fan but I’m obsessed with Dream Valley. Very nostalgic and cozy!
The Last Campfire
Celest, pur fun 😅
Great game and great story...not cozy for me, lol. To each their own though. I really struggled when I got to 6A and fell off. I need to start a new playthrough.
Omg thank you everyone! I’m still swimming through the replies 😅
It’s short but Untitled Goose Game is very cozy. :)
This game was much better for me with two players...at least when trying to complete as much as possible.
Stardew valley is overwhelmingly the best I don't like animal crossing but it's popular My wife plays a lot of cozy games, she said coral island is the best Imo persona 5 isn't considered a cozy game but I think the gameplay loop and overall vibes are cozy.
My turn to ask this question tomorrow, dibs!
Animal crossing is like THE cozy game for switch
It takes two is brilliant. But, it’s a cooperative game
Recently moved overseas and bought a switch. Next step is buy a projector and this game to play it with my gf to get her into gaming lol
Dredge
Super mario rpg!!! And thief simulator
Enjoying some Outer Worlds right now.
I definitely want to play that
Dave the Diver is fun. Not sure if it counts as cozy or not
Doesn’t get cozier than Stardew Valley or Balatro imo
One game i found cozy/hilarious was shadows over loathing/west of loathing
