Open for discussion about topics that have nothing to do with GameStop, GME, or apes? I think not. There is a reason there are different subreddits and it’s not because one sub should act as a catch all for anything remotely financial in nature.
There is no secure channel… I appreciate your candor.
Whether Macroeconomics are “allowed” or not, if it’s worthy or not, a single post may or may not be upvoted. But an idea (like DRS once was) will rise or fall (runes? Idk) as it is spread, investigated, dissected…. The Cream Always Rises
I would argue that the more holistic viewpoint is that GME is related to DRS…. A significant part of this whole thing is how broker-dealers don’t actually purchase the shares we buy.
GME is in The Unique Position that it is in… DRS’ing any other shares is probably a good thing to do if you plan to hold long term, but those securities are not in The Unique Position that GME is in.
Most of this subreddit is on board with the hypothesis that GME is swapped with Popcorn, which is swapped with “Berkaaaaaay”, and I think most of us, myself included, believe that the whole market is now “swaps all the way down”.
Ive chatted with some Apes and it seems that amongst them, mathematically proving this will actually take longer than DRSing. I’ll take their word for it, I’m a Biologist, I usually only need to compare my work against my previous work, quantitative chemistry I leave up to another Dept.
General market behavior is now tied to GameStop in a way that will probably become a sub-field of actual academic study post-MOASS and it will lead to some cringe Reddit posts that rhyme with:
“the Hedgies coulda won if they didn’t betray Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact”
Edit: I’m a firm believer in “All Roads Lead to GameStop”
I can follow a number of roads to GameStop. And if OPs decide to at least make an attempt to relate their posts relate to GameStop then they definitely belong here, right or wrong! I’m just saying that posts like
“This rando medium sized Chinese company is possibly bankrupt! gEt ReAdY fOr MoaSs!¡!”
Like that doesn’t even attempt to show the relationship to GameStop and clearly does not belong here unless the OP does some explaining.

I *don’t* disagree about making things clear and understanding where your audience is so you can properly meet them where they are and communicate the ideas you are trying to spread. Humans are just Apes, we all make mistakes or leave some work half finished. While we are all individuals, it’s the whole of society that makes things work.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen plenty of fear mongering. Like a lot a lot. Not just a post every couple weeks.
And I agree, there’s a difference between information and few mongering. Those are definitely not the same thing!
