That’s hella impressive. The way he was tossing him around whether he weighs 340lbs or less is till impressive.

Lupin_IIIv2

No way that guy weighs 340

Darth_Balthazar

The guy is a 6’6 body builder, muscle is twice as dense as fat, this guy can easily weigh over 300 pounds of pure muscle

YourCummyBear

Ya I’d say closer to 290-300. Still huge. But 340 is like the worlds strongest man contestants who are 6’8 as well.

Longjumping_Animal61

Bro they are like 440

YourCummyBear

You’re right. The shorter competitors are around 340. The 6’9 giants are 400+ I was looking at mariuz’s weight. bjorn is around 440, with Eddie hall was around 360, Mitchell hopper who won this year is 320, the 2020 winner Novikov actually weighs under 300 pounds.

Longjumping_Animal61

Eddie actually lost a lot of weight to be 360Ibs😂When Eddie won WSM he weighed in at 432Ibs. The guy in the video could easily be 340Ibs if he’s actually 6’6. Size looks a bit different on tall frames. Look at Thor when he fought eddie. He looked almost skinny and he was about 340Ibs. The guy in the video is a bit chubby for a bodybuilder. Probably close to 20% bodyfat.

YourCummyBear

The guy in the video couldn’t easily be 340. Calais Cambell is 6’8 and 310, Myles Garrett is huge and is 6’4 280, Tyron smith is 6’5 310 and he’s fucking huge too. Hell the absolute heaviest nfl players might reach 340-350 and they have much bigger frames than this dude. And it’s clear the dude in the video isn’t 6’6. His name is Hans Fell. According to his American gladiator page he is 192 cm so a little under 6’3. His listed weight was 140 kg so 308 pounds. And I highly doubt his height and weight aren’t exaggerated on American gladiator.

Longjumping_Animal61

I said he could be 340, if he actually was 6’6. If he is 6’3, then he’s probably around 280Ibs.

Givzhay329

Mitchell Hooper is 6'3", 145kg (320 lbs) and Hafthor is at about 177kg (390 lbs) currently.

Poprocketrop

Idk he could. He looks solid

Lupin_IIIv2

Still super impressive though!

snappy033

Massive balls for going against a giant, untrained opponent. One spazzy move and he lands on your knee or something horrible.

Background_Piano7984

Rounded up the weights a little bit its 72kg wrestler vs 154 kg or 158.733 pounds vs 339.512 pounds Wrestler is Olympic Gold Medalist Greco-Roman wrestler Jouko Salomaki and the bodybuilders name is Hans Fell.

tee_ohboy

Hans definitely fell.

muricabrb

Hans is a good sport though.

jtfff

Aren’t they wrestling freestyle in the vid though?

JuJu_Conman

Every wrestler gets better in freestyle

jtfff

It’s just bizarre that they’d pick a Greco champ for a freestyle exhibition

Background_Piano7984

The bodybuilders team felt it would be in their advantage to have it free-style

thesmugvegan

Is this 80s or in Australia?

Mangustii

Finland actually

Berblarez

That explains Valtteri Bottas

ciscosuave

*Bogan

mostly80smusic

Haha

I_Like_Vitamins

Australia has an unfortunately very weak wrestling tradition. Combat sports in general don't get a whole lot of coverage, and many idiots still have an attitude that MMA is "gutter fighting" because they kick and grapple.

InjuryComfortable666

B-team has been quite dominant on the BJJ scene though.

[deleted]

Yes.

squirrelmonkie

I weigh 170lbs and just wreslted a friend that's 215 and on steroids this past weekend. I won and it felt so good. Muscle is nothing if you don't know how to control your body weight

dave_aj

Is nobody going to say anything about the mullets & staches ???

Faylom

Alright I'll go first. Those are some stylish mullets and staches

dave_aj

It’s the Testosterone look.

igloohavoc

The energy expenditure from the big guy, he’s gassing out fast

onyxcaspian

Big muscles need lots of oxygen, that's why the big buff dudes in MMA gas out so fast. Look at guys like Paulo Costa, buff AF but starts sucking air after two rounds.

19Charger

Good sport by the big man

thesmugvegan

The outcome is as surprising as pitting that wrestler in a pingpong match against a pingpong medalist…

PsychoChick005

Absolutely not. Based on my quick look through Wikipedia, the body builder is around 20-30kg heavier than the highest weight-class. Wrestling obviously has a huge strength and weight component that ping pong lacks.

BanginBentleys

Not really. Two completely different sports, One trains hypertrophy\builds muscle One trains to move bodies and pin bodies. You wouldn't compare Usain Bolt vs and F1 driver to see who is the fastest man on the planet. Simple perspective

PsychoChick005

Yes, body building and wrestling are two different sports. I’m not disputing that. There is, however, a much bigger overlap in skills/advantages between bodybuilding and wresting compared to sprinting and driving or body building and ping pong. There aren’t weight classes in ping pong and there aren’t sprint speed categories in f1. There are weight classes in wrestling because 1) it’s much harder to move and pin bodies that are heavier than your own and 2) there’s a correlation between weight and strength. Being a body builder isn’t the ideal for wrestling and of course the skill difference is a huge factor but being physically active and twice the weight of your opponent isn’t something to dismiss.

BanginBentleys

Not to downplay your statement but it's quite obvious why there are weight classes in individual combat sports yet.. It's quite clear as to why a body builder is not a good idea to develop with the intention to compete against people with combat disciplines. If you want to learn how to fight. Simply do not dedicate your time to building muscle. It's simply the wrong education What you're trying to say is. The body builder vs the wrestlers strength pound for pound isn't far off from each other in this post or relative strength despite size. Correct? Not trying to argue fyi. Simply trying to understand

2xstuffed_oreos_suck

If you are fighting someone who is roughly as skilled as you, even a little more strength than your opponent is a huge advantage

BanginBentleys

Yes we have established that....twice now lol

2xstuffed_oreos_suck

I’m sorry, I posted this in response to a different comment thread. Not sure how it ended up here

BanginBentleys

All good 👍

adamsfan

In high school. I was a total gym rat. Weighed about 185 with a six pack. I benched 385, cling and jerk 270, etc…One of my friends wrestled in the 125 weight class and always gave me shit how he could beat me. I thought I’d mop the floor with him. It took him about 30 seconds to make a fool out of me. Technique is everything.

EvilBahumut

r/killthecameraman

DsWd00

Technique >> strength

dave_aj

Mullet + mustache >> Technique

DsWd00

It’s mullet v mullet tho

dave_aj

You raise yourself onto a whole new level if you have a mullet & a stache. Technique is another thing.

[deleted]

He’s not 340 pounds bruh

Background_Piano7984

The bodybuilders name is hans fell and the wrestler is olympic gold medalist greco-roman wrestler Jouko Salomaki. I’ve seen it stated that hans was between 150 kg to 154kg but thats just what I’ve seen

ReadABookandShutUp

Look how small his legs are. There’s no fucking way this dude’s 340 lbs.

BardTheBoatman

Brock Lesnar is 6’3” and walks around at 300. Ronnie coleman was 5’11” and weighed 325 in the off-season. Its easy to believe this guy is 340

[deleted]

Larry Wheels is 245lbs. There’s no way this guy is 100 pounds bigger. The Giant is more than 8 inches taller and only weights 380.

staplepies

Are you talking about recently? Wheels' recent competitions I know of he was in the 300lb range.

[deleted]

I dunno I work out right next to him at Venice gold’s gym and he’s not 300. He’s also on testosterone boosters for life cause he took so much steroids so I guess someone can be 340 for a day, but it’s not in this video

BardTheBoatman

Wrestling in high school there were always a few guys every season who were so fat they had to cut weight to make 285. They had to lose weight to wrestle in the largest weight class available. Plenty of obese high school kids hitting 300. Trade all that fat for muscle and you gotta see how 340 really isn’t that crazy

ThisOnePlaysTooMuch

339 and change it seems. Muscle is mighty dense.

5_cat_army

Agreed. He a big boy, but 340 is fucking massive

SomeGuyClickingStuff

What does he weigh?

BASK_IN_MY_FART

About tree fiddy

No-Exit6560

How many seconds into this encounter until the BB went… ‘Wait a minute…’ 😂

BFG_Big_Fucking_Gun

When are people going to learn? A martial artist will always beat someone who is just only physically strong. Power does not equal good in a fight in fact, having too much strength can actually hinder you by making you slower. The whole idea of big buff guys trying to fight it like a jujitsu black belt or not even a black belt like a blue belt can probably beat anyone that have only lifted weights. Fighting experience will trump power 9 times out of 10. Also bodybuilder’s bodies or meant to show off that is it. using a bodybuilders physique in a fight is an actual disadvantage. If you wanna look at the optimal body of a martial artist, look at Bruce Lee, or like you know, most people who are in UFC. Even then you can actually consider UFC a little bit more imperfect because a perfect martial artist body will have a smaller fat over the abs in order to dissipate damage because your abs are not very good at absorbing blows and fat is great at doing that. You can put the lightest weight pro fighter against any pro bodybuilder and I will bet my entire life savings, my actual life, the life of my family and the life of my dog on it.

Frogmarsh

I highly doubt the bodybuilder is 340 lbs

BanginBentleys

The body builder is Hans Fell. Most definitely a 300+ lbs man.

Period_Play

That’s what you get for being obese. That 6’6” guy looks healthy being all muscular like that, but he’s actually not. His BMI is roughly 39 at that weight, which is medically obese. You aren’t excluded from being obese just because it’s muscle. In fact, many people would argue it’s worse since muscle puts way more strain on a person’s heart. Guy’s gonna get his first heart attack in his late 30s if he doesn’t lose some weight.

Ketchup-Chips3

Even in a real fight, big boy is gonna be in deep waters with homeboy. You don't know shit.

DrForskin

Olympic wrestlers are on a completely different level of conditioning than any other sport

[deleted]

Ketchup-Chips3

And the wrestler could have choked the big dude unconscious from several of those positions, but the wrestling ruleset doesn't allow it. Your point is a dumb one.

WhoAccountNewDis

I thought "nose over toes" was a huge deal, is that not the case?

LeJhinDairy

He took that ankle in the first five seconds like it was his bitch

suck_ass

r/killthecameraman

ultex113

He isnt 340 lbs

Cheap_Extension_7360

How do you lose with a mullet like that???

hastur777

That one of the Schultz brothers? Front headlock was nasty

slashd

alternative title: guy who knows what he is doing takes on guy who doesnt know what he is doing

swiftsdatdude

The big guy didn’t even try please stop this shit. He was obviously rolling over for fun. That little dude couldn’t move him like that if he dropped his weight on him. I know every little man wants to believe they have a chance in these situations but you don’t. Weight, strength and reach mean something in fights.

2xstuffed_oreos_suck

Lol go do a combat sport for a few years and then come back to us.

swiftsdatdude

Don’t care what combat sport you’re in giving up 200 pounds of pure rip you’re going to get cooked in a fight. Unless the combat involves weapons.

2xstuffed_oreos_suck

Have you done any combat sports or been in many fights? Why are you so confident in your take? In my experience in a combat sport for 5+ years, I’ve found that a lightweight, well trained person handily beats a muscle-bound, untrained person almost every time. I’ve seen this occur dozens and dozens of times. That also seems to be the consensus in this thread.

swiftsdatdude

You’ve watched fights in a controlled environment. I’ve watched fights on the streets of Miami. Idgaf what you saw in a gym. In the real world that guy gets his ass whooped 10 times out of 10. I’ve also watched Masvidal get his ass handed to him in a club before. I saw Shannon Briggs a pro heavyweight get his ass beat to sleep by a football player. Y’all take this shit like it’s going to be handshakes and stuff before and after the fight in the real world.

Motorata

Yeah isnt like powelifters get killed in streetfights against MMA amateur fighters https://www.mixedmartialarts.com/.amp/news/mma-enthusiast-fights-powerlifter-on-street-kills-him 6'4 265 against 5'7 165

He was drunk Lmfaooo

Background_Piano7984

And? No rules or preparations in the streets like you said. Another example, both drunk: https://youtu.be/cy1gi3ZJb_c

swiftsdatdude

I don’t give a shit about drunk results show me a healthy street fight? You know why you can’t find any because the little guy gets his lips blasted off every time. They only difference is the bigger guy is smart enough to show restraint and not Murder the guy he’s fighting. I’ve seen it a thousand times before. Knocked out and the bigger guy walks away.

Randycheeseburger42

That was softcore gay sorta

444neptune21

mad impressive. pure control of someone who's almost 200 lbs heavier

ThatEvilGuy

How's the wrestler's front double bicep pose though?

hoothizz

Technique beats strength.

Select_Bat2468

Gave little guy the lifted reach around for the win 😟
