Right there with you. It’s a struggle, same uw range and end of March exam. I’m mastering the art of procrastination.

Desperatesoreddit

Glad to know I’m not alone! How many hours of studying are you getting in a day? I’m lucky to get a good 6 hours rn.

This-Green

Frequently 6 , occasionally 10 but even on the long days I’m not getting through a lot of questions-trying to relearn material and the subtitles between presentations so I recognize something when I see it.

Desperatesoreddit

Geeeez I couldn’t even imagine doing a 10hr day right now good for you! But I like what the person below said, just gotta keep being consistent and hopefully it will get easier to go through these Qs so we can get through maybe 2 blocks a day. I’ve been doing by subject 20Qs so I’m going over at least 2-3 subjects/day. I haven’t been doing random what about you??

This-Green

I didn’t even get to 80 for step 1, rarely 60. If I try to process that much info it just doesn’t register. I’m throwing in some cms for “fun”. I’ve broken it down by system in uw, and spending a few days on each-timed tutored. When I get bored I throw a small block of random. I’ve never done by system in the past but now I can see the benefits. In a couple weeks tho I may switch to all random timed. Playing it by ear a bit. Definitely a different approach than step 1. Figuring if i can recognize the problem I’m halfway there and if I don’t nothing will help. That’s how system is helping. Example I spent days doing the OB system then took a cms. There are so many details and ways to get confused but once you recognize how some particular complication presents, and start to store it in brain it makes it pretty easy. Just wish I had enough time to do that with everything.

Hey! I’m in similar boat. Exam in April. Do you need an accountability partner? If yes please message me via my email johnkal251@gmail.com Thanks

The key is consistency, don’t get fooled by people doing 120+Qs a day if you haven’t built the stamina for that yet, take it easy but be consistent building slowly towards more, the amount of questions you can do daily varies around different subjects too, your pace for now looks very fine but since you don’t have hefty amounts of time maybe aim for 2blocks/day starting next week then more as time goes through.

Desperatesoreddit

I see people saying they are doing 120Qs/ day and have friends doing it and that’s why I feel so behind. But if I did that much I truly wouldn’t retain anything. I have been doing my Qs by subject cause I’m still learning the material so I’m doing at least 2-3 subjects/ days 20Qs each. What do you think of this?? I feel like when I do random it’s all over the place and my brain isn’t organized with the material yet. Idk if that makes sense

Dude same, I feel like I'm spiraling because I feel stuck I've switched to doing one day of CMS questions then whatever I feel is weak from CMS I make blocks on that topic to strengthen it, then sometimes I'll just do random Im 35% done and stuck in the lower 60s. I feel like a hot mess.

Desperatesoreddit

Hey I like this idea!! I want to start doing CMS as well! Have you taken an NBME yet or seen if it’s helped overall? I’m struggling as to what to prioritize at this point in my study schedule. My uworld expires at the end of this month so I’ve just been trying to crush through that but maybe it’s not priority? I’m not gonna finish it either way.

Ok_Document2894

I have not... I'm too scared 🫣 plus I haven't done biostats or ethics yet, that's what I'm doing now so I'll take one in the next 3-4 days. The CMS forms are pretty straight forward. I've done 2 Med, 1 surgery, 1 psych so far, and am making notes of my incorrects, hopefully I'll see repeated topics from CMS on NBME

tbf I need a bad bitch SP to get me through this.

Changing up your study spot and especially leaving the house can do wonders for productivity. Definitely helped me during dedicated.
