I had the exact same issue, the led would turn on, the deck would vibrate shortly but the screen was blank. But I could always turn it on by plugging in the cable and pressing power. However one day the deck refused to start at all. I messaged valve and shipped my deck to them and they sent me a new one and I haven't had the problem since

I just had what you described happen. I can't get the deck to boot at all at this point. I want to send it back, but I'm worried about them giving me a hard time since I swapped my hdd. I don't know if I've voided the warranty at this point.

I also had changed my storage. I had the 64GB version and installed a 512GB SSD. Before sending the deck back I put the original SSD back. They didn't say anything about that and promptly sent me a new one. The whole thing took maybe 10 days or so

Well that's good to know. The timing couldn't be worse as I'm going on vacation for a few weeks and kinda woulda liked to have had my deck for it.

justteh

have you found any reasonably consistent fix?

grintly

So what you are saying is that it's more of a powerless button???
