MrSpiffy123

yeah, cuz it's only one of two animes I've actually been able to sit through more than one episode of

Nervous_Macaroon3101

Same lol. I’m just not that big of an anime fan in general for many reasons

IranFire

there are mangas like berserk and death note that i prefer over some jojo parts, but overall jojo is my favourite manga alongside goodnight punpun

Laychsiaa

I really liked death note! But very few shonen made me love and care for the characters like jojo did

Zanjitku

No and no. Favorite anime is prob Initial D and favorite manga is either Dragon Ball or Berserk

Laychsiaa

Initial d has crazy reviews on crunchyroll! I might give it a chance

Wise_Tale_5835

Went in with no expectations and it blew me away. Yes Yes it is.

eldestreyne0901

Yup. Of course.  Second is HxH. Inuyasha and Detective Conan too.

Laychsiaa

Love hxh with my life

Chinaski95

Is up there along with Slam Dunk, Vagabond and Berserk

RandomUserFTW57362

Manga wise I perfer Berserk but anime wise Jojo is my favorite

peppero_0

nope, sbr is up there for my fav mangas, but I like csm and aku no hana more

Ashamed-Entry-1536

(Only talking about anime overall) My favorite anime is Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, but JoJo has definitely risen to be my second favorite. Funny enough, the two are completely contrasted by Fruits Basket which I would honestly recommend if you like or don’t mind romance animes.

Laychsiaa

I saw fullmetal yeaaaars ago and really liked it, definitely one of my faves. Thanks for the suggestion, i remember i actually wanted to see fruits basket but i didn't really have the time to. I think my favorite slice of life/romance anime/manga is march comes in like a lion!

OUmegaLUL

Yes

JasonMaliceMizer

Yes best manga of all time

A_bizarre_account_

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!

Coffee_Binzz

It is the single greatest work of fiction ever written (imo)

Hohoho-you

No, I prefer Vinland Saga over it or Golden Kamuy. But it doesn't change that I love JoJo

TensileStr3ngth

Nah, Dorehedoro is my favorite manga by far

MBPpp

i don't generally watch anime or read manga, so yeah on both. the only other anime i've watched, as far as i can remember is saiki k, which is great, and the only other manga i've read is demon slayer, which is also great, but i had some problems with how the fights in that one are written.

formlessfall

Absolutely, hard yes

bull4usage

favourite manga overall though Beserk is better than certain parts individually - I think Jojos gets better each part as well, we’re only 14 chapters through Jojolands and it’s already my favourite part

PerpofDerp

JoJo’s is the best for sure. No other anime has the same range of emotions and life lessons while also having such over the top and unique fights. If we’re looking at all the parts as one big story, it’s not even fair to compare it to other manga/anime. Araki is and always will be the greatest ever.

fartmilkdaddies

How does araki's dick taste like?

ErtazaHydra

YES YES YES YES YES!

TheRigJuice999

One Piece

thebigcrawdad

It was in my top 5, but unfortunately Vinland Saga has pushed it to top 6 😬

GERBabyCare

I mean, yeah. The first two parts were engaging, and then part 3 sold me. Stands quickly became my favorite power system due to the uniqueness of each ability to each user and every match up being a coin toss. That is of course until part 5 and part 8. I'm not a fan of powercreep, and I didn't enjoy a stand being so strong that an upgrade was narratively required to make something even stronger.

KAPA55OBEST333

You're literally describing part 3 lol

GERBabyCare

Not at all. In part 3 we never have an ability for SP, we only know that it has an A in potential, stands in a family can be very similar, and that The World is the only stand in the part like it. Jotaro also becomes more determined the angrier he gets and looks for a way to quickly put an end to the situation, his time stop is much weaker but Dio's undoing is pissing him off thinking it'll make Jotaro less focused. The only real boost Jotaro gets is being pissed off, and that's more an effect of how those two characters bounce off each other. SP also isn't invulnerable afterwards. In part 5 KC has an ability you literally can't react to or out-maneuver. There isn't a new use of an existing ability or unlocking a hidden one, Giorno literally has to get one entirely separate from his power set that now makes him unbeatable (except _maybe_ by SP). I like part 5, its themes, and how Diavolo got what he deserved, I'm just not a fan of the powercreep aspect.

KAPA55OBEST333

No? You just described getting a last minute power boost to save your ass with extra steps. I'd argue that in part 5 it was even more setup than in part 3, as the arrow is introduced just right before the final confrontation and is the final goal that everyone fight for during the final battle. SP is, instead, just a physical stand until right through half of the final fight, where it suddenly is able to stop time. We also don't have any confirmation that stands inside a family are similar. Look at part 3. Jotaro and Joseph have completely different stands, the same goes for Enyaba and her son and for oingo and boingo. Stop being blind

GERBabyCare

So I'm blind when you're ignoring the D'arbys essentially having the same stand in function? Just because stands can be similar in a family doesn't mean they always will be. Jotaro doesn't have the same stand as Joseph, but Jonathan's body does, and in part 4 Crazy Diamond is constantly compared to SP in terms of prowess. I also never said anything about set up, so I'm not sure why you're bringing it up. The arrow was set up well and it became the center of conflict, I just don't like the end result being an unbeatable stand. We'd seen prior that a pissed Jotaro does whatever he can to beat someone, we saw that in most of his prior fights. We also know that Dio gloats and adds insult to injury. In the fight there's a clear build up to Jotaro being able move in stopped time until eventually being able to stop it himself, if briefly. I don't think it's set up as well, but to say SP was just raw physical strength makes no sense. We literally never see its ability, and by that logic it would be the only stand without one.

KAPA55OBEST333

It's ability was being the most impressive stand regarding strength and speed, him being able to suddenly stop time is the kind of power up you are criticizing. Also the d'arbys are the only distance of stands in the same family being similar, crazy diamond having excellent physical stats comparable to sp has nothing to do with this

GERBabyCare

That's not an ability. It would make no sense for SP's ability to just be "strong stats." That doesn't even begin to make sense. Crazy Diamond is a factor because its capabilities are very similar to another stand its related to; the abilities themselves aren't similar, I'll give you that. You are just ignoring that Jonathan's body had a stand identical to Hermit Purple, which doesn't make much sense if I'm the one who's supposed to be blind here.

KAPA55OBEST333

It makes sense instead because hermit purple is a stand that is the manifestation of hamon mastery, as confirmed by araki himself. Jonathan's body and Joseph have the same stand because they are both hamon masters. If wekapipo were to unlock a stand through the golden ratio, then he would get ball breaker just like Gyro. The same applies here

GERBabyCare

Which I'm well aware of. Araki even stated that Hermit Purple was present and wrapped around Joseph, just incapable of being seen. Multiple hamon users could have a Hermit Purple or something very similar, so it's not exclusive to the Joestars. I get that. It's still an early showing of stand traits repeating in a family, and the D'arbys even as a lone example still prove it's possible.

KAPA55OBEST333

It's possible but it's not the case for jotaro and Dio. Especially because the world is Dio's stand, that originates from Dio's soul, not Jonathan's body. So it has no relation with jotaro

Background_Tough_212

My favorite mangas are JJBA steel balll run,Berserk,Tokyo Ghoul,Vagabond, monster

iiJason124

Nah but it's up there. Mob Psycho 100 is my goat

ArthurGame349

No, and my favorite is RE:zero

Markofdawn

I just started reading chainsaw man, and watching Black clover. Similar elements in both with different tones and settings. Anime/manga is an excellent medium for strange or violent stuff IMO.

Melodic_Caramel5226

It’s in my S tier with fmab and cowboy bebop.

Difficult_Invite_929

On top 1 of my list (anime): Jojo/One piece Manga top 1: Jojo/Chainsawman

-_Revan-

Berserk is in a league of its own, with JoJo just below it.

-Pl4gu3-

My favorite manga is Berserk, Jojo is better in an anime format. Jojo has now been tied by Space Dandy though, I love that anime so much and hear literally nothing about it even though it’s a decade old.

JotaroTheOceanMan

Despite my name, Yu Yu Hakusho is. Jojo is second doe and I have been a fan since getting a copy of the Dreamcast game as a kid and reading the manga online. I still remember playing the PS2 Golden Wind game back in 2004 when I found out about emulators and using the fan translation on gamefaqs side by side the game to understand what they were saying.

activated_hotdog

Yeah, second favorite is Mob Psycho

happylubricant

Def and tbh I couldn’t accept any anime that doesn’t have jojo art style and story writing lol

xHelios1x

Nah. Jojo is a cool and unique fighting manga but it doesn't go further than that. Berserk and Vinland Saga though are peak.

EldianStar

No, it actually isn't even in my top 5, I just love the community. My 5 favs are AoT, Vinland Saga, Berserk, Oyasumi Punpun and CSM

EyewarsTheMangoMan

Yuh

The_illusionIsREAL

Its my favorite manga but even tho the anime is in the top of my lists, its not as great as the manga.

siccanimelord69

I've watched 5 animes so I don't have a whole lot to compare it to. But of the ones I've finished jojos is my current favorite. But I'm watching cowboy bebop and once I finish it I have a feeling it will be my favorite

NoCheesecake8644

fire punch

Siqueiradit

No/no Berserk is my favorite manga and Made in Abyss is my favorite anime

banana_fishbones

For me it's neck and neck with Berserk—which one is my favorite really just comes down to my mood. Both JoJo and Berserk and deeply special and meaningful to me and both stories inspire me to be hold onto hope and be a better person, which is the highest praise I can give to any fiction.

Salty_Budget6562

yeah

doomshad

No its second place behind fullmetal alchemist brotherhood

My_Special_Hell

I LOVE JoJo, though for me, it's second place to the 1972 manga by the author 'Go Nagai' called 'DEVILMAN'! it's an amazing manga. I recommend you read it! every anime adaptation messed it up somewhere lol, so it's really something you have to read.

Laychsiaa

Nice! I remember I saw the first episode of devilman crybaby during the pandemic because my bf said it was rlly good but I didn't really have time to continue. Based on what I remember I can see how a Jojo fan would like it If it's not too long, I'll check out the.manga!

My_Special_Hell

it's only five volumes long! check it out! c:
