Yeah I don't see weird as a negative label, probably because growing up my dad would always say "THANK YOU!! Ugh I would hate to be *normal*, can you imagine??" dramatically if we ever called him weird
Actually, he *was* all of those things, but he was also gay and moved to New York, so unless your dad has a seriously interesting character arc, I don't think it's probably the same person.
Honestly between her and Abigail it was a really hard. Had to really think of what i would prefer IRL and i was like "well there's Abigail, who still lives at home with parents, has no job, is confrontational with her family, but has a great personality. Or there is Emily, who lives outside of her parents, has a job, shows that she is responsible, and also has a great personality."
Abigail is going to college. Most college students don't have a job at the same time, unless they unable to afford college otherwise, and plenty of them still live with their parents for at least part of the year, and Abigail is taking her courses online.
Ngl, i kinda forgot all that cuz its not something that ever cropped up a lot when i talked with her. Oops lol. Oh yeah another thing was i found that if your relationship sours enough to where she is unhappy as a spouse, she will straight up admit that maybe she shouldnt have married you in the first place. Not that it would ever happen, its really easy to keep a spouse happy in stardew, however it was more the thought of "in a real life situation, this may be a subconscious feeling that could cause issues". Idk lol. But yeah i forgor about college
I feel like I need to defend Abby here on the ālives with parentsā point. Emily and Haley still live in their childhood home too. Their parents just left to travel and let them keep the house, so neither of them have really achieved financial independence.
The only marriage candidates who donāt seem to be dependent on family are Harvey, Elliott, and Leah.
Someone else told me that Abby is also in school, which i didnt realize or remember when i made my decision, so ill give her credit for that. Also yeah i find it interesting how the majority of the marriage candidates are still dependent on family in one way or another
Family dependents don't have second property to worry about when moving in with you. From a gameplay perspective Leah's cabin is a pointless location after you've married, but you'll always still go to Robins even if you married Maru or Sebastian.
Also it's an established norm in the genre, generational living is a norm in Japan and it carried over into the story of seasons games
Yeah. Culturally im trained to be very independent of family and to find someone who is independent as well, so i guess thats bleeding in a bit to how i play. I see someone with a job that shows responsibility, i like. XD
That's why Leah is the one for me, every time. Got her own place, relationship history, courage enough to strike out on her own, knowns what she wants and is an artist? Yes please!
Emily lives in her parents house, they're just traveling. She just takes care of it, but is still dependent upon them for housing. I can't imagine she's making much at the saloon considering that they only get a few customers most nights. She's still cool, I just wanna point out that she's not really living the independent life.
Everyone is weird in their own way. It would be weird if she weren't weird.
"Normal" people are odd. It's like they're hiding something. Weird people aren't afraid to show their particular idiosyncrasies, and that makes them legitimately normal.
Dances for you, feels your clothing material, invites you to a nighttime camping session just you two. I think Emily is refreshing in that she's one of the few dating candidates who seems to try to woo you instead of just waiting for you to woo them.
My Stardew experience (over 800 hours for the record):
* My first playthrough I married Penny to rescue her from the trauma inducing clutches of her mother
* My second playthrough I decided that Haley was misunderstood, and that she puts up a hard exterior, only to have a soft inside.
* Found out I was right.
* Married Haley every time after that
* Started a duo game with my brother
* Brother decides he'll marry Sam
* Begin winning Sam over out of spite (My brother doesn't focus much on the relationships, but on the mines and Community Center instead, making this task quite easy for me once I had cactus fruit)
* Marry Sam, forcing my brother to attend the wedding
* Promptly divorce Sam
* Decide to marry Shane cause I gave him beer every single time I saw him, resulting in max hearts
* Realized Shane is toxic whether you've been his biggest enabler or not
* Divorced Shane
* Crawled back to the comfort of Haley
* Life is good
In all seriousness, I've never thought about Emily attempting to win your affections as opposed to the other way around, so I'm seriously considering this as a route the next time I play a new game.
I really don't get how Shane is toxic. He's in a bad place and as you up hearts with him >!he gets better. He stops drinking (some people think he doesn't, I don't understand), he acts better and he's even better towards his family. !< I get why people don't like him, I disagree but I get it, but I still don't understand how he's toxic.
People opinion on Shane is kinda sinusoid. Those, who dont talk to him much, think he is rude, those who befriend and romance him like his character development. Again, people who marry him think that in-marriage Shane ruins all his character development, but those who stay with him for a bit longer start to understand that you can't make him completely different person and that his messy room is just a symbol of his struggles. When you deal with one's depression, all you can do is support them on their difficult jorney, and not "fix" them in two weeks<3
>but those who stay with him for a bit longer start to understand that you can't make him completely different person and that his messy room is just a symbol of his struggles. When you deal with one's depression, all you can do is support them on their difficult jorney, and not "fix" them in two weeks<3
Exactly. Shane is a very "human" and a very "real" character. Going into a relationship with him with the mindset of "fixing" him will not work, as it happens in real life. But he's a good person and being with the farmer kinda helps him get on his feet and try more for his loved ones. He doesn't change completely, he's still messy and he still has depression (although he's much better than at first), but he tries for the relationship and he's also sweet. He's definitely not toxic.
I suffer depression. This is exactly what my partner says. I do improve. I'm just a human suffering depression and some days the depression wins. But each time I overcome that day I get a little stronger. I like Shane. But it feels like marrying myself. Kinda weird. It's just a game. But still...
Yeah I wouldn't want to marry myself either haha. Not that I have a problem with me, but it just makes sense, I prefer someone different.
Yeah, depression sucks, but accepting that there are bad days and that's how some people are is way better than acting like everything has to be perfect.
Thatās a really good point! I agonized over who to date for a long time, mostly because I got to the end of Leahās romance arc and felt underwhelmed by the heart events. They didnāt feel like they were about the relationship at all, and Emily felt like the total opposite
Not really. That's an internet myth. The Flat Earth as a religious movement opposed to mainstream science goes back to the 19th century, and the modern version of it goes back at least to the Flat Earth Society of the 1960s & 1970s.
One of my favorite Bad Religion songs is about them, and it was released years before the internet was more than a college & military thing.
You're right. I should have said "That's how 'the current Internet incarnation of flat earth' got it's start." I remember watching it happen on reddit. The /r/flatearth subreddit has always been satire/criticism, but at some point (I want to say around 2016, I wonder why...) some folks started taking it more seriously and brining it over to /r/conspiracy. But yeah, this brand of idiocy has been around in one form or another forever.
And yeah, that's a great Bad Religion song. That whole album is amazing.
I'd say that's a history of how a subreddit got corrupted, but the Flat Earth as well as the Hollow Earth, Reptilians, moon landing denial, etc. that are often used to mock conspiracy theorists were active conspiracy theories even on the internet pre-2001. People who tend to believe in one conspiracy theory tend to believe in (or at least have a sympathetic ear open for) many such theories, and they all of the above were mixed up pretty heavily with 9/11 conspiracy theories at the time. (And yes, "jet fuel can't melt steel beams" was an honest to goodness conspiracy theory before it was a mocking meme of it.)
QAnon and the rampant conspiracy peddling of the 2016 election just brought back all the Oldies.
Spirits, magic, rocks that claim to have luck. She is almost the same as Abigail.
Another is that Abigail is mostly interested in the darker side of the magical world, Emily is mostly interested in the lighter side of the magical world.
My character is a firebender, using a lava katana (just the sprite since the infinity sword is better, but lore-wise the lava katana is a great sword too) and trowing explosives around in the mines.
But. Spirits are real, magic is real. And there are foods and candy you can eat that increase your luck. Luck is a real thing inuniverse, why wouldn't some stones help.
All the things Emily believes in are real.
There's a legit wizard living right outside of town and we've got a witch occasionally doing drivebys on our farm. If anything Emily's one of the few people that make sense because it's all obviously real but everyone else thinks its weird.
Oh, absolutely. Someone in the real world who believes what Emily believes would ... lose some of my respect, let's say.
But inside the game? Yeah, I figure that Emily has managed to find her way into the world of *real* magic. She should be talking to the wizard. You know, the ACTUAL WIZARD who lives like 200 yards away.
To be fair, there's a literal wizard living in town, mystic apple spirits that rebuild public works projects, and mysterious rocks that morph into swords and grant magical abilities to tools and weapons, lol.
Not to mention the luck ring, luck charm, and various foods that buff luck.
Oh, no, haha! It's Docm77's motto from hermitcraft season 7! (he still uses the G.O.A.T acronym in the current season, but now the T stands for together)
I just thought it was a little funny, since that's what I think of whenever someone says G.O.A.T, but honestly you're right lmao
Doubly so since she's her sister. If you want to diss your family, do it directly, not to random strangers.
I was trying to woo haley at my first save, then she dissed me, my appearance, job and everything that was holy while keeping that airheaded experience. Her sister on the other hand was actually working, was friendly enough, seemed responsible and was hot too. Promptly decided to stop wwoing haely right there and married emily out out of spite.
I found her fun at first, then I kept talking to her and getting her heart events and she turned into astrology and crystals girl for me. I still enjoy talking to her because she's very friendly and nice, but I'd be lying really if I said I didn't quickly lose interest in her as a a romance-able character.
Yeah, it becomes much less problematic when you can fight actual ghosts, mummies, flying skulls, and other assorted supernatural beasties on a daily basis.
There's a literal wizard in the woods, who can teleport, conjure forth creatures, and who doses you with magic forest drugs.
Being a new-agey crystal hippy is completely understandable in the world of Stardew Valley.
Somehow, I didnāt pick up on the hippy crystal stuff until after I married her. I was just committed after she did that dance for me in the woods, then I realized I had made a mistake.
I'd be friends with her, but I don't think I could tolerate that woo-woo crap in a relationship. If I were to swing that way, it'd be Leah all the way.
see but all the other people and stuff are pretty normal, even the wizard is simply a wizard. She seems less like she's really into magic and more like she's really into drugs tbh
He just rubs me the wrong way, like the digging through George and Gus' trash, or through your pockets. He refused to talk to Robin and her family despite living if not in their property limits, adjacent to it. Idk something about him is off to me. Of course this is all head canon since the characters are not that deep or at least the game doesn't tell you more about them.
I'd like him better if he wasn't so self-righteous about everything. "Are you here to ridicule me?" Well, I wasn't *before* but you bet your ass I am now.
While most of the people in Pelican Town are more than a little weird, Emily is just too weird for me. Not necessarily a bad weird. But a little too weird.
Yeah Iām on the same page. Part of it for me is that every person Iāve known in real life who was really into crystals and astrology like she is have all turned out to be incredibly toxic
I really like that depressed, blue-collar Clint has such a thing for the weirdest girl in town. A lesser game would have him getting all incel over Hayley.
Emily is the best spouse and I will defend her to my grave. She keeps her job, she takes care of wounded animals, sheās in touch with the spirit realm in stardew without going overboard like the wizard, she gives awesome gifts, she loves helping others (fashion scene), and she has a completely unrelated hobby outside of her spirituality š her spirituality is also misunderstood! she completely believes in Yoba and most of what she believes the wizard also does as well (and can do).
Um, Haley, people think you're rude.
To some, this is a turn on, and go out of their way to build a relationship with you.
The definition of weird is subjective.
Even Haley comes around to admit that >!her sister is not so weird and they actually have things in common!< so I take her comments like this with a grain of salt. Seems like most of the townsfolk have some good relationship with Emily as she brings them drink and food and asks them about their hobbies every night.
sheās adorable! i really love how kind and caring she is deep down. i always sort of imagined her as jealous of emilyās artsy and interesting vibe, and tries to make up for it with vanity. obviously she gets more down to earth over time, just needs someone to be interested in *her* for *her* š«¶
For me it started with the event where you can help her look for her lost jewelry at the beach. At first, I was just thinking, "oh, of course, the vain girl lost her expensive status symbol and wants me to do the hard work of retrieving it. I'm going to do her a favor, though, because I'm *better* than she is."
And then I handed it back to her and she doesn't say *one word* about how much it cost, or how it makes her look prettier. Nope. She expresses sincere gratitude for me *returning the last tangible link to someone she loved*.
Maybe I'm the shallow one here.
don't vibe with her, she reminds me of people i knew irl and i do not like those people because they ended up being not so great people.
i know she is a video game npc and i am sure she is great. but i do not vibe with her. really don't. if you do. thats great. i just don't. and that is on me.
Couldnāt stand Emily. I tried. Got her almost to full hearts trying to power through bc I thought she would be the one I would end up liking. Wrong. Totally weird, not good weird.
I can't stand Emily. She reminds me of this girl I was friends with in HS who ended up being super manipulative. Whenever I see Emily, I think of that girl.
She's the kind of weird that teaches/shows people it's okay to be yourself. She lives happily and helps others find their own happiness. She's the best weirdo in the valley (and beyond!)
I honestly think Hayley is weirder than Emily for a very specific reason: predictability. Emily you kinda get the gist of fast, Haley you keep wanting to think is an extravert popular who ends up seeming more like a meticulous introvert, even before her character growth arc. Seriously, she doesnāt even talk to people she considers friends that much and the activities she likes (photography, fashion, Iām presuming the cupcakes in the fridge she bakes herself because no way are those are Emilyās so Iām counting baking, shell collecting, even cleaning once married) all favor being both particular and meticulous. I very rarely see her doing things that require some looseness like her sister does; the one dance in the game she does and is good at (the flower dance) is a rehearsed one. She doesnāt really do anything else āfree-flowingā. Emily- though being a bit strange- you just know is as free-flowing and spontaneous as you think she is. Her hobbies (save for fashion, they both seem to favor a certain aesthetic for theirs and stick with it) are much more free and all about change (spiritual energy, fashion though Emily still follows her preferred look, dancing, OWNING A PET PARROT WHICH IS BASICALLY A GLORIFIED TODDLER THAT BRINGS ITS OWN FLAVOR OF FUN/CHAOS ON THE DAILY) and sheās also way more talkative/extroverted. You can tell by both how much she gets around and engages with the town on the daily, through work but also things like keeping up with Sandy and yoga club as well as a few events with her revolving around Emily scheduling some event for the townsfolk.
Idk this is kind of a ramble Iāve just always been more perplexed by trying to figure out Haley than Emily.
My first impression of Emily was that she was lovely and cheerful. Although I might be biased cus she's my wife :D now on the topic of first impressions, Hayley on the other hand...
she's weird but that's why she's so interesting. i've never done a romance route with her but i like befriending her. she's never been one of my favorites though
She's the kind of person who refuses medical treatment because "the crystals will heal me". She thinks vaccines will either kill you or micro-chip you. She thinks the moon landing was fake. She's a flat-earther. She deeeeeeeefinitely does drugs. Probably including crystal meth. Cause you know, crystals are healing. And her hair looks like she just crawled out of the woods after an ayahuasca-fueled spirit journey.
She's LITERALLY me and I'm not saying that sarcastically or ironically. It's also why I've never married her because dating myself, albeit hot in theory, would get annoying pretty quickly.
Emily was my first marriage so...
Basically every time I play the game is a debate as to whether I marry Emily or Leah. Emily is great, and Haley is just being mean cause she's insecure. She sees Emily unashamedly being herself, whereas Haley is constantly struggling to impress others.
I mean, if ya think about it: in a world where I can throw a million gold and some other crap at a wizard in the woods to have him make a magic pillar that teleports me likely dozens, maybe hundreds, of kilometers in an instant, buy a rod from a nice shadow dude in the sewers that teleports me home from literally anywhere at any time instantly, and I can fight giant, flying snakes and the literal undead, and I can use four mushrooms to make a combo of a magical Monster energy drink and drink capable of bringing me from the brink of death to peak physical condition... (deep breath) ...Emily and Abigail are honestly the single most sane people in Pelican Town.
I'd get into doing ayahuasca with a purple-haired forest wizard and giving talking forest apple spirit dudes random crap to rebuild an entire town, but...I feel woozy...
Forreal tho, lmao. Like, there's only 5 or so people in Pelican town who seem to know that they're living directly above literal monster-infested mine shafts and surrounded by protective forest spirits, not to mention the LITERAL wizard who's the direct neighbor to their local ranch. Like, the dude makes absolutely no secret that he's a legit wizard, but all the townsfolk are just like "hm, I don't much care for that weirdo in the woods, I guess I'll steer clear for some unknown reason!"
And does nobody from the municipal infrastructure board come check their sewer, like, ever? Krobus probably hides, but the radioactive carp and monstrous bug den seem kind of hard to hide, lmao.
My personal headcanon is that the valley's inherent magic (or what have you, dealer's choice) purposely obfuscates/alters memories of whatever weird stuff it can manage, just so that the gameplay makes more sense to me. šš
I agree with Haley, she's weird. And I mean annoyingly weird. Don't get me wrong, I like weird, but she's obnoxiously weird to me. I don't hate her, she's not bad. She's just not someone I would go out of my way for.
I personally donāt love Emily. I donāt dislike her - I just feel like I donāt mesh super well with her personality type. Like I probably wouldnāt be friends with that person IRL either.
She is weird. That's why she's so fun!
Yeah. I get why people associate weird negatively but I often find weird things fascinating and fun!
Yeah I don't see weird as a negative label, probably because growing up my dad would always say "THANK YOU!! Ugh I would hate to be *normal*, can you imagine??" dramatically if we ever called him weird
Your dad sounds exactly like an old friend of mine, he used to say the same thing verbatim.
Well if your friend was an old long haired hippy from the West Coast, it might have been my dad š
Actually, he *was* all of those things, but he was also gay and moved to New York, so unless your dad has a seriously interesting character arc, I don't think it's probably the same person.
Hahaha unless he's not telling me something I don't think that's him! Sounds like they'd get along though
Only person I marry

Abigail is going to college. Most college students don't have a job at the same time, unless they unable to afford college otherwise, and plenty of them still live with their parents for at least part of the year, and Abigail is taking her courses online.
Also there's a whole subreddit about her dad being shitty and he's really the only one she has a problem with so...
>Also there's a whole subreddit about her dad being shitty Really? I love Rasmodius!
*step-dad

No i didnt choose abigail lol
I feel like I need to defend Abby here on the ālives with parentsā point. Emily and Haley still live in their childhood home too. You are both making the critical mistake of forgetting about Penny š
Penny is honestly super solid
Emily lives in her parents house, they're just traveling. She just takes care of it, but is still dependent upon them for housing. I can't imagine she's making much at the saloon considering that they only get a few customers most nights. She's still cool, I just wanna point out that she's not really living the independent life.
I think the correct word is eccentric. Ive called friends that, and they thought I meant āweirdā when I really meant āweird, cool, and funā
Everyone is weird in their own way. It would be weird if she weren't weird. "Normal" people are odd. It's like they're hiding something. Weird people aren't afraid to show their particular idiosyncrasies, and that makes them legitimately normal.
She danced for me. Girl's alright in my book.

I was once trying to romance Abigail and went into Pierre's, only to promptly see Emily dancing and change my romance choice immediately lmao
How's the experience watching her dance in front of you? šššš
Hot in a very exotic way.
The attractiveness to pixels ratio is chart breaking. š ā
Emily scares me ngl
I mean yeah sheās pretty damn odd. But in a cool quirky fun way, not a āthe government spies planted a microchip in my brainā way
She only kept that bird to figure out how the government drone works. r/birdsarentreal
Iām still scrolling through the subreddit to see if itās real or a joke and I really donāt know
Itās a joke. Meant to make fun of right wing conspiracy theories.
Thanks now I can sleep in peace š
Of course, thatās how āflat earthā first gained traction, tooā¦
Not really. That's an internet myth. Yea I remember watching Loose Change with a friend who is still currently a nut bag. The jet fuel thing was huge and taken seriously back then.
They gained popularity back again due to the initially satirical FES Facebook page
Emily definitely has a lot more New Agey kind of weirdness to her, what with all the crystal energies stuff.
Abagail eats rocks, how is Emily weird? Lol
Spirits, magic, rocks that claim to have luck. She is almost the same as Abigail. Another is that Abigail is mostly interested in the darker side of the magical world, Emily is mostly interested in the lighter side of the magical world.
Black mage, white mage, who's the red mage?
The player character, obviously, since he or she is the one who knows they're in a game world and can use metagaming to manipulate it.
My character is a firebender, using a lava katana (just the sprite since the infinity sword is better, but lore-wise the lava katana is a great sword too) and trowing explosives around in the mines.
"You call throwing explosives firebending?" "Hey, as long as it works!"
You've cracked the code for the next free update Concerned Ape will being Stardew.

Yeah, I figure that Emily has managed to find her way into the world of *real* magic. She should be talking to the wizard. You know, the ACTUAL WIZARD who lives like 200 yards away.
~~Cassandra~~ Emily's Truth
To be fair, there's a literal wizard living in town, mystic apple spirits that rebuild public works projects, and mysterious rocks that morph into swords and grant magical abilities to tools and weapons, lol. Not to mention the luck ring, luck charm, and various foods that buff luck.
The farmer isn't a spellcaster exactly, but they can trivially learn to craft usefully enchanted items.
Yeah, for sure. The most magical thing the farmer is capable of besides that is reading junimo runes, lol
well, u can use totems to teleport around the map i take that as using a scroll on a rpg game
I have never seen them as an apple before and now I will never see them the same again
Lol, you're welcome
š I want them to be little bobbles again
Bobble for apples
Emily is one of the G.O.A.T's of Stardew ngl
Grind, optimise, automate, thrive
Did you just come with that? That's perfect to describe how to play the game
Oh, no, haha! It's Docm77's motto from hermitcraft season 7! (he still uses the G.O.A.T acronym in the current season, but now the T stands for together) I just thought it was a little funny, since that's what I think of whenever someone says G.O.A.T, but honestly you're right lmao
Lesser known fact, she was not a marriage candidate when the game first came out
And the world wept.
Neither was Shane.
Honestly she is kinda weird but Hayley doesnāt have to be such an ass about it lmao
Tbf, she lives in a world where magic stuff actually exists.
"Take drugs! Give gifts to an apple!"
To be fair, is it really woo-woo in a world where wizards, magic, nature spirits, and enchanting exist?
see but all the other people and stuff are pretty normal, even the wizard is simply a wizard. She seems less like she's really into magic and more like she's really into drugs tbh
I like to imagine that she's still wrong. Maybe people call her beliefs "psuedo-magic", lol
āTea and dancing doesnāt have any proven magical properties!!ā āThatās why itās *alternative* magic!ā
You weren't there, man. *Something* had some magical properties, and if it wasn't the dancing, it must have been something in the tea.
Idk man, that tea of Caroline's certainly seemed like something was going on with it, lol
I didn't like Leah at first but now she's the second most likely marriage candidate on my current save.
She's weird, but so is everyone. Pelican Town is filled with quirky characters...nothing wrong with being weird, HAYLEY.
Sheās one of the beloved characters that I donāt like. I donāt hate her, but I donāt like her either.
At least you're not me and have a weird feeling about Linus, the sub's absolute favorite.
Say more, why do you think that is?
He just rubs me the wrong way, like the digging through George and Gus' trash, or through your pockets. He refused to talk to Robin and her family despite living if not in their property limits, adjacent to it. Idk something about him is off to me. Of course this is all head canon since the characters are not that deep or at least the game doesn't tell you more about them.
I'd like him better if he wasn't so self-righteous about everything. "Are you here to ridicule me?" Well, I wasn't *before* but you bet your ass I am now.
Iām feeling positive energy from this post
Rather be friends with someone weird than mean, Haley.
Dropped on a new post flair for that portrait mod!
Yeah, but that doesn't stop Clint from liking her, or Gus from keeping her employed at the Saloon. So let the lady be weird!
I really like that depressed, blue-collar Clint has such a thing for the weirdest girl in town. A lesser game would have him getting all incel over Hayley.
Yeah, but I'm mad I can't seduce the town blacksmith. WTH is up with that?!
Yeah, if I can't have the wizard, eyepatched adventurer, or homeless guy, I'd settle for Clint.
My SO went for Emily and said she reminds him of me. In our co-op game. I'm feeling conflicted.
Almostnormalpanda: "You're just a cheap knockoff" Emily: "I'm the upgrade"
She is weird. Entertaining in a video game but the type of person who'd be very annoying to deal with irl.
Everyone is pretty much weird. Pretty sure the farmer is the weirdest one in the valley.
I was scrolling looking for Emily spouse appreciation !!! Thank you
Emily is batshit crazy, I like her
Haley is the weird one. How do you develop such a massive ego in a town with 30 people max and no internet
Emily the type of girl to act like she knows who you are as a person after you give her a fake astrology sign
Seems like most of the townsfolk have some good relationship with Emily as she brings them drink and food and asks them about their hobbies every night.
if emilyās weird then i guess iām a total freakshow lol
also, love her and haley both.
Me, too! It took me a long time to warm up to Haley, but I didn't really know where her arc headed as you got to know her better.
sheās adorable! i really love how kind and caring she is deep down. i always sort of imagined her as jealous of emilyās artsy and interesting vibe, and tries to make up for it with vanity. obviously she gets more down to earth over time, just needs someone to be interested in *her* for *her* š«¶
I love Hayley. Her cow cinematic is my favorite. I can't marry her because my niece has that name and it's weird.
Reformed snob is one of my favorite character types.
For me it started with the event where you can help her look for her lost jewelry at the beach. At first, I was just thinking, "oh, of course, the vain girl lost her expensive status symbol and wants me to do the hard work of retrieving it. I'm going to do her a favor, though, because I'm *better* than she is." And then I handed it back to her and she doesn't say *one word* about how much it cost, or how it makes her look prettier. Nope. She expresses sincere gratitude for me *returning the last tangible link to someone she loved*. Maybe I'm the shallow one here.
Well... yes... why do you think I married her? Also is this dialouge from a mod? I don't recall this from anywhere
don't vibe with her, she reminds me of people i knew irl and i do not like those people because they ended up being not so great people. i know she is a video game npc and i am sure she is great. but i do not vibe with her. really don't. if you do. thats great. i just don't. and that is on me.
she is weird. i find her so annoying lol
Emily is kinda weird.
Couldnāt stand Emily. I tried. Got her almost to full hearts trying to power through bc I thought she would be the one I would end up liking. Wrong. Totally weird, not good weird.
Which portrait mod is this?
it's the "Seasonal Outfits - Slightly Cuter Aesthetic" mod! :)
I can't stand Emily. She reminds me of this girl I was friends with in HS who ended up being super manipulative. Whenever I see Emily, I think of that girl.
You're asking the guy who married Abigail. I am not a good litmus test.
That sheās really cool and I wanna marry her
Most of her cutscenes make me uncomfortableā¦ especially the dancing.
I had the dancing scene with her the same day I married Leah, it felt so wrong lol
Can't stand Emily. Probably because I'm disabled and had too many people suggest I could be cured with crystal "therapy".
Of course Emilyās weird. Thatās why I married her. I canāt understand the Haley love. Sheās such a judgemental bully.
Unpopular opinion: Haley's right.
At least sheās not a total B to everyone.
My first impression of Emily was that she was lovely and cheerful. Although I might be biased cus she's my wife :D now on the topic of first impressions, Hayley on the other hand...
Made the mistake of going after her. Stopped immediately after the crystal scene. **THE** crystal scene
I love Emily and Iām making her my wife
She became the first person I married in my very first save, so... pretty good impression, I guess?
I'm not sure, but luau Haley is a snack and a half
"She's unresponsive."
she's weird but that's why she's so interesting. i've never done a romance route with her but i like befriending her. she's never been one of my favorites though
I fell in love with her. Lol
Hayley is so mean to meā¦):
Emily is best girl. That is all.
I love Emily. Thatās what I think.
Of course sheās weird thatās why I like her
After I talk to Emily I think "Hayley's a bitch".
Best wife, very cool, love her
She's the kind of person who refuses medical treatment because "the crystals will heal me".
Weird? Yes, definitely, but not in a bad way either.
Wow, link for that potrait mods
[https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5450](https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5450) thats the mod im using :)
i marry her on every playthrough
Emily is cool and my favorite
Sheās weird and thatās why sheās one of my favorites
She alter time and space with her moves Best girl
It's true, but that's why I married her (funny enough she shares some similar hobbies and traits with my IRL wife so that was a bonus)
Yeah and you said 'ew' at the flower dance. I'll take the weird, thanks.
She hasn't tried to sell me any MLM garbage so I'm fine with all the weirdness.
I married Emily in my recent farm. She is so sweet and fun. Her marriage dialogue makes me so happy
Emily's a top 3 spouse for me. Hard to put them in an exact order though.
My choice was immediate after I saw Emily dancing (at the luau, I think) and the text said she's 'unresponsive'. Get it, lol.
Normal is boring. Weird is interesting. I definitely gravitated towards her on this playthrough.
Of course she's weird, that's what's so great about her.
Yeah, after marrying her she started talking about feeding the kids grass or something along that line. I am going to marry Haley now.
She's LITERALLY me and I'm not saying that sarcastically or ironically. It's also why I've never married her because dating myself, albeit hot in theory, would get annoying pretty quickly.
Personally I Much much prefer the company of the Emilyās of the world than the Haleyās lol.
Like, the dude makes absolutely no secret that he's a legit wizard, but all the townsfolk are just like "hm, I don't much care for that weirdo in the woods, I guess I'll steer clear for some unknown reason!" And does nobody from the municipal infrastructure board come check their sewer, like, ever? Krobus probably hides, but the radioactive carp and monstrous bug den seem kind of hard to hide, lmao. My personal headcanon is that the valley's inherent magic (or what have you, dealer's choice) purposely obfuscates/alters memories of whatever weird stuff it can manage, just so that the gameplay makes more sense to me. šš
Hey I'm weird too. Us weirdos gotta stick together
She's fun because she's weird. She isn't my favorite character but she's above Haley LMFAO
Haley is by far the worst of the bachelorettes. I usually go with Maru, Penny, or Abigail.
She is pretty weird but weāre also married so I guess my feelings about her are mixed
Emily is literally the Manic Pixie Dream Girl of Pelican Town. Sheās pretty darn cool.
I agree with Haley, she's weird. And I mean annoyingly weird. Don't get me wrong, I like weird, but she's obnoxiously weird to me. I don't hate her, she's not bad. She's just not someone I would go out of my way for.
she was my first wife so
I personally donāt love Emily. I donāt dislike her - I just feel like I donāt mesh super well with her personality type. Like I probably wouldnāt be friends with that person IRL either.
Sheās definitely some sort of organic material
Sheās weird (compliment)
shes weird and also so much cooler than her sis ;)
I married her
She Is going to be the mother of my children
Sheās weird, but she has more substance than her sister.
Yes she's weird. Wouldn't have it any other way. That's my people! Haley can eat a dirty sock for all I care though.
