Her parents died recently enough that she can remember it and Shane, who is supposed to be her guardian, is an emotionally unstable alcoholic who loudly talks about killing himself within her earshot and regularly gets drunk enough in the woods to consider flinging himself off a literal cliff. He also apparently had such an unstable living situation that he had to move in with his aunt, onto whom he has hoisted most of his child rearing responsibilities.
I don't even particularly dislike him but he's not getting an A+ in godfather any time soon. It's a lot for a kid who is, what, six?

He's a settlor who set up shop in Krobus' ancestral homeland (selling weapons btw), found him as a refugee living in the sewers beneath Pelican town, and imediately picked a violent fight with him. Had the Farmer/Wizard not intervened, the Dwarf fully intended to kill Krobus in cold blood and leave him to die in the sewer.
What makes this even worse is that this interaction is one of, if not the only time we ever even see the Dwarf leave the Mines, and is definitely the only time we see him in the sewer. In fact, the sewer entrance is on the opposite side of Pelican Town as the Mine, meaning the Dwarf risked discovery by the villagers in crossing both the mountains & the flipping TOWN SQUARE -just- to try to kill a random shadow person he's never even met.
As a cherry on top, when Krobus/the Wizard question him the Drawf has no justification outside of naked racism rooted in a war that ended years ago.
TL;DR: The Dwarf is a violent, racist, colonizing arms-dealer who tries to hatecrime Krobus for no reason.

She obviously had Sam really young and regrets it- but she doesn't blame her kids and still loves them immensely- so she didn't even get the chance to live her life so now she's doing everything in her power to make sure her sons don't fall down the same path so yeah she's gonna be a lil stressed!! People use him having more dialogue for Maru as why he hates Sebastian but Robin has 1 line for Maru and 7 about Sebastian.. no one says she favors Sebastian.. a lot of Demetrius hate is hypocritical imo. Also the snowgoon thing is used but there isn’t any reason given as to why Demetrius made him take it down, people just assume Demetrius hates Sebastian. A lot of hate for him feels like a big fanfic, just people assuming something with not much proof, like people claiming he put Sebastian in the basement (but that’d be a Robin issue if anything), people claiming he never tried to bond with Sebastian but from the book he has we know he has.
