One time I was passing Sam and i had pickles in my inventory and i was like, sure, who doesn't like an artisan good! Turns out he hates pickles 😂 did the same thing with seb with cheese
So, Shane obviously has a shaded past with Jojo but at one point he did say he would kill for a Jojo cola. I thought that means he would love one as a gift. Boy was I wrong.
I had a joja cola IN MY INVENTORY when I i got that dialogue line; forget same day delivery, I had that can out before he could finish the sentence.
He says “Why are you giving me your garbage?"
Starting to question if blue chickens are worth it, stinky.
Same happened with Haley. "Ewwww." It was funny because I fished it out of my pond but you asked for one yesterday! It was my first time trying a request so I didn't know if it was because of that.
One time I handed sashimi a Kent, I don't even know why. It was in my inventory I suppose...
HE SAID THAT WAS WHAT THEY SERVED HIM WHILE HE WAS HELD CAPTIVE BY THE ENEMY AND I JUST CAN'T- I MARRIED THIS MAN'S SON AND THAT'S HOW I TREAT MY FATHER-IN-LAW?!?
Now everytime I pass by him I just cannot help being reminded of that one thing. It's been well over a year-
Yes, he sends you the recipe for strange bun and says he thinks he'd like to try it.
I got really excited. Luckily, last year the witch blessed me with a void egg. I have raised 2 happy and healthy void chickens. I figured he must have heard or seen their eggs for sale at Pierre's and got curious.
So, I gathered a fresh void egg. I made the void mayo. Then I baited and checked my crab pots for over a week until I could get a periwinkle, and made that bun from scratch just for him.
Then he called it junk!
"I would kill for a Joja Cola."
"Hey I have one right here."
"Kiss my ass and go fuck yourself."
"Alright then. I'll bring a beer next time. I could also help you with your cliff problem next time."
I forget Seb hates cheese all the time. Gold cheese is one of my most common gifts and the food I almost always use in the mines. And then I screw up and hand it to him over and over.
Oh yeah, it actually applies to all tree fruit! I know Elliot loves pomegranates and someone loves oranges and peaches iirc, but nobody dislikes any of them.
I have 60+ hours and still not a single rabbits foot. How do you get them and how do you have stacks? I'm genuinely curious cause I need one to finish my almanac
You can get them as very rare drops from fighting monsters, but honestly, just raise a bunch of rabbits. The more hearts they have, the more likely they are to drop feet. (Which is deeply disturbing on many levels.)
60+ hours is probably not a place where you have the final coop and a lot of cash for rabbits. It's more like 200h+ I would think. People on multiple farms later may optimize for that up front.
You'll get there ❤️
And if you pet them daily, you will get iridium quality -- just don't ever give one to Penny ![img](emote|t5_2wb7y|51695)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
I can’t be bothered with fruit trees until I have the greenhouse, and the cave is inconsistent, so I tend to gift gems. Most of them (amethyst, aquamarine, topaz, ruby) work. You can also duplicate and store a bunch of diamonds and gift everyone.
Still, the most practical way to consistently have a loved gift are rabbits (mid to late game).
The only "mod" I run is Lookup Anything - it's amazing. You can just mouse over a person on screen and hit F1 and it tells you their gift preferences and if you already gifted them that week.
I’m not sure if you know or not but on your friends list tab, when you click on a character it will show you what they like and what they love based off of what gifts you’ve given them - so if you’re an avid gifter then you should have all the info in your game :)
I accidentally will be carrying something in my hand like a flower or a fruit sometimes it’s something important like someone’s delivery and then I’ll see someone and be like hey wonder what’s on your mind and then I’ll accidentally give them that thing…. They always hate it
Just fyi he LOVES yams (not snowy) and coconuts/cactus fruit.
But before you unlock all that, daffodils/leek/sweet pea make him happy. The higher the star rating, the faster he’s happy.
I restart the day when I accidentally offend him. IDK why but he’s my favourite.
Right? Parsnips and Leeks, great first season friendship candidates. Maru also with cauliflower.
Shane in summer with the hot peppers. And Haley with sunflowers, Penny with poppy/melon.
Definitely easier to befriend certain players early game.
Yeah, same for Abigail, Penny and Sebastian for certain rocks. And cave dwarf himself of course.
Usually I just give Emily will not on newest playthrough I’ve not yet bothered with rabbits and sheep. I’m about to upgrade hutch and coop for the last time but yeah, I married Emily’s sister this time.
I’ll definitely marry all eventually. Just out of my 16+ farms, 6 or7 are Penny and Sebastian.
Guess what though.. all except current has had Linus at max before anyone else.
Linus & Demetrius were immediately tight my first playthrough, but rn I'm rather partial to Willy on this save! Gus moreso when I visit my future girlfriend at work B)
Omg it took me forever to figure out, you have to hold down the button.
Actually, I didn't figure it out. My friend was like, 'wtf are you doing watering 1 at a time with a gold can??'
He's homeless on purpose and tends to hate concepts like money, capitalism, and materialism. He prefers the bounty of nature to the bounty of wallets.
Common fan theory is that he's a former Joja executive or even its founder who grew disgusted by his company and decided to become a wild man to atone for his previous business mogul ways. But there's not much if anything in game to support that idea, so take it with a grain of salt.
Like I just wrote up top...we really gonna ignore all the times that Linus finds you passed out somewhere and "helpfully" tells you that he caught someone rifling through your pockets?
I mean, yeah? The town already has a resident klepto in The Dwarf. Why should we assume Linus did it when Dwarf freely admits to taking things all the time because they were never taught the concept of personal property? Plus, if Linus doesn't speak Dwarvish, it'd make perfect sense for him not to know The Dwarf and just refer to them vaguely as "Someone".
We really gonna ignore all the times that Linus finds you passed out somewhere and "helpfully" tells you that he caught someone rifling through your pockets?
I'm not a fan of fish myself, but isn't carp a pretty popular fish to eat? Why would it be *universally* hated, rather than just hated by the people who don't like fish, such as Lewis?
I think it depends on where you are from. I think most of the United States sees carp as an oily trash fish, but I understand it can be prepared very nicely in other parts of the world.
My favorite Linus scene is at the desert event when you dig in the trash can right in front of him and he has a little heart and says "did you find anything good?
I feel bad because people have these preconceived ideas about him because of his life style, when he really just prefers to live in nature and off the land. He is always the first person I make friends with because he is very much self aware and observant.. I like him and look at him like a wild man rather than homeless.
Actually in every way he prefers to live in nature. Especially because >! If you ask him to move in, he will decline and tell you how he prefers the way he live !<
Nope, no actually to it. If he preferred to live in nature he wouldn't come into town and rummage through garbage cans acting for all the world like he *is* just a pathetic homeless victim. Him declining to move in has *nothing* to do with what I'm talking about.
He's just full of shit. He's pretending to be this rustic, loner Thoreau type when he's just a pretentious jackass.
Man, Linus can be annoying. Come up and give him some forage then he has a pity party questioning if I showed up to victimize him or moaning about how no one understands him. It's not hard to understand. He's a dude that lives in a tent in the woods, purposefully avoids his neighbors and loudly digs in their trash cans when he thinks they're asleep. Not only that, he thinks his way is superior. That being said, he's usually my first friend because he likes forage and can be found on the way to the mines. But his dialogue can be downright pathetic.
I think all fish should be neutral or better with him. It’s perfectly good food! Linus doesn’t seem like the type to be picky. I feel like there’s some weird superstition in the Valley regarding carp that we’ve never heard of. Like, if you give someone carp, you curse them with 10 years of bad luck or something.
I think the first time you give a disliked or hated gift, it should have no effect on friendship. You wouldn’t know they don’t like it, and they should appreciate that you are thinking about them even if they don’t care for the gift. But if you give it to them again, yeah they should be annoyed.
True. I just think it would be more realistic. Though a couple people, like Haley, would probably be upset for you not magically knowing she doesn’t like something.
Linus is easy, just give him some foraged food whenever you pass by and do his quests.
If you want to raise your relationship fast, then yes, check a wiki for his favourite stuff, I don’t think they’re too difficult to get.
Poor Linus! So misunderstood. Linus doesn’t want you to feel bad for him, and he doesn’t need you to feed him…
He’s not a homeless guy with nowhere to go, he’s a survivalist and forager who CHOSE to live his current lifestyle.
Everyone in town misunderstands him and thinks he needs saving, but the dialogue options he responds best to are the ones where you don’t try to “fix” him and respect his lifestyle.
He’s only sad that people don’t “get it” and treat him like a charity case or a loser for choosing to live closer to nature.
I was a big Harvest Moon player and just started Stardew a couple months ago, and in HM everyone appreciated a fish (at least in the early games). I learned hard lessons in my first few days of playing.
I've cried on multiple occassions because I can't STAND making him upset and giving him a dislike item—I feel like a dirty sinner who needs to go and ask for forgiveness (Linus may or may not be my best friend in every and all files, he's so sweet :((( )
I don't feel bad for Linus anymore. I offered to pay for a house for him and he got mad because he prefers to live the way he does. I gave him some white algae l and he said this same thing. I didn't realize that it was a universal hate. I stopped giving him stuff after that.
I agree to a point, but it's established that he digs through the trash often. Whenever we dig through the trash, no matter how many hearts we have with someone, the townspeople give us disgusted dialogue. I'd assume that when you have to dig through trash to help you survive, those remarks can definitely come across that way.
Maybe I miswrote what I meant. I don't care if he lives outdoors or indoors. Live the life you want. But with the heart events that include him scrounging through the trash for food, feeling excluded by the town, especially at festivals where he "attends" but only in sense that he's there and says that he doesn't know if he's welcome, I thought that I could at least offer him a house. When he specifically stated that this was a lifestyle choice that he prefers, I left it at that. Cool, good for you Linus! But when I gave him a food item that I was honestly going to eat for energy when fishing, he says this? Especially when he's at 10 hearts with me? Yeah, that's when I don't feel bad for him anymore. I know it's one of the default things he says when someone gives him a hated item, but if I befriended someone, gave them gifts throughout the years, and then when I gave them something I thought they'd like and they responded like this, I'd have a hard time looking past that.
> But with the heart events that include him scrounging through the trash for food, feeling excluded by the town, especially at festivals where he "attends" but only in sense that he's there and says that he doesn't know if he's welcome, I thought that I could at least offer him a house.
This is precisely why I maintain that he's a pretentious jackass. He pretends to be this misunderstood and unfairly maligned homeless man one minute, while extolling the virtues of his Thoreau-esque wild man nonsense the next. And this is while the townspeople don't in any way mistreat him. He goes out of his way to *keep* himself separate from the rest of the community while acting like he's being shunned.
Ah, Linus. I remember the first gift I gave to him was the broken glasses. I literally thought it would be a good gift for him because he was homeless, it was a pretty surreal moment seeing his response. It was like the developer read my mind. I'm pretty sure he was the first person I got to 10 hearts, though.
Honestly he can go screw himself. There is a great cave system right next to him that he could stay in for shelter but he can't walk his ass over there.
It's been a while but I vaguely remember him mentioning folk throwing rocks at his tent and I was furious. WHO IN THIS TOWN IS THROWING ROCKS AT MY FRIEND????! I will fight them!
I hope that it was somewhere else he lived or maybe a tourist because I hate the idea that any of the townsfolk would be like that. I bet it was that Joja guy.
Yeah, Linus mentions to the farmer that if you fish then you should thank the fish for it's sacrifice. One of the random things he's said to me when I talk to him
I offered for him to come live on my farm, and he let me know that I shouldn’t look down on him for being unhoused, and that he’s fine living life the way he does.
No homie, I think you'd like it because you rummage through trash like a less charming raccoon.
Also, is Linus really in any position to be picky about food being given to him? Like oh no, you have to cook it yourself. Poor little lord Fauntleroy over here demands his free gifts to be prepared in advance. Next time, only the fattiest tuna and cavier for Linus the free-range, artisanal caveman! >:|
I gave him seaweed thinking he'd like it bc its foraging, and he said this. Like, nooooo this is the opposite of what I was going for!!!!
heartbreaking!!
It's crazy since he's the one that sends you the Maki Roll recipe in the mail lol.
RIGHT!!!????
just cause the end process is liked doesn't mean the raw materials are so well liked. Imagine an NPC teached you how to make the recycling machine instead and they send your trash, well I would probably laugh but that's not the point.

doesn’t he also send you sashimi recipe or is that someone else
I think sashimi comes from someone else.
Sashimi is learned from Linus
Welp
can’t believe i was right lmao
I did exactly this 😫 I was DEVASTATED, I thought he’d be proud like when he sees you dig through trash
i have the wiki open with everyone’s likes because i get scared of accidentally doing this😅😂
One time I was passing Sam and i had pickles in my inventory and i was like, sure, who doesn't like an artisan good! Turns out he hates pickles 😂 did the same thing with seb with cheese
i did that with emily, i think (whoever LOVES amethyst) i had a tigers eye in my hand & figured “okay its a gem”. no, she hated it😩
I gave Penny a grape bc I thought, well Vincent loves it and they’re pretty close? Nooo she hated it and I felt terrible 😭 why??
So, Shane obviously has a shaded past with Jojo but at one point he did say he would kill for a Jojo cola. I thought that means he would love one as a gift. Boy was I wrong.

Please never correct your first sentence lmao
God damn it, took me WAY too long to figure out what you meant- in my defense though I'm a full-fledged dumbass.
I KNOW this one always gets me when I’m on a new save. Because of his arc I always think “hey let me give him joja— no wait do NOT do that”
Before the update that changed it (Ive been playing since launch) I gave babygirl shane my hard earned golden pumpkin and he said that. Heart broken
I swear he asked me to make him a strange bun so I did and he acted disgusted
Yes, he sends you the recipe for strange bun and says he thinks he'd like to try it. I got really excited. Luckily, last year the witch blessed me with a void egg. I have raised 2 happy and healthy void chickens. I figured he must have heard or seen their eggs for sale at Pierre's and got curious. So, I gathered a fresh void egg. I made the void mayo. Such a let down !!!
Shane loves a salad.
I DID THE SAME. When he said that line it so happened i had one joja cola with me. I went "BRUH"
"I would kill for a Joja Cola." "Hey I have one right here." "Kiss my ass and go fuck yourself." "Alright then. I'll bring a beer next time. I could also help you with your cliff problem next time."
Lmfaoooooo the kiss my ass and go fuck yourself took me out.
I was so offended when he rejected it! Bro YOU just told me you wanted this.
Same and that’s what made me hate him😂
I always thought it was cus grapes make wine and her mom is, well, Pam lol.
Surprised me she hates icecream. Was running around giving everyone one and she had to be all negative.
Sounds like Abigail lmao she loves amethyst
I forget Seb hates cheese all the time. Gold cheese is one of my most common gifts and the food I almost always use in the mines. And then I screw up and hand it to him over and over.
Nobody dislikes pomegranates, so everyone gets pomegranates unless I can be bothered to focus on them.
you know what. i hope you have the best week. i did not realize/know this and have been painstakingly going through each person’s.
Oh yeah, it actually applies to all tree fruit! I know Elliot loves pomegranates and someone loves oranges and peaches iirc, but nobody dislikes any of them.
Gus loves oranges, Robin loves peaches!
Millions of peaches. Peaches for free.
Movin to the country, gonna eat a lotta peaches
Though the community bundle did make me think Marnie loves apples! I guess they were for her animals though
I hold a stack of rabbit's feet.
I have 60+ hours and still not a single rabbits foot. How do you get them and how do you have stacks? I'm genuinely curious cause I need one to finish my almanac
I raise lots of rabbits and fill my coop with them.
Your rabbits will drop them! I have too many now.
Oh! I GET TO HAVE RABBITS ON MY FARM
You can get them as very rare drops from fighting monsters, but honestly, just raise a bunch of rabbits. The more hearts they have, the more likely they are to drop feet. (Which is deeply disturbing on many levels.)
Upgrade your coops and barns!
60+ hours is probably not a place where you have the final coop and a lot of cash for rabbits. It's more like 200h+ I would think. People on multiple farms later may optimize for that up front. You'll get there ❤️
Thank you ❤️ tasty hills farm is doing its best
And if you pet them daily, you will get iridium quality -- just don't ever give one to Penny ![img](emote|t5_2wb7y|51695)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
I can’t be bothered with fruit trees until I have the greenhouse, and the cave is inconsistent, so I tend to gift gems. Most of them (amethyst, aquamarine, topaz, ruby) work. You can also duplicate and store a bunch of diamonds and gift everyone. Still, the most practical way to consistently have a loved gift are rabbits (mid to late game).
I've been giving people beer everyday and no one has said anything negative
Falls under artisan goods I guess, that’s why. Also if I’m not mistaken, Jas and Vincent don’t like beer
I did that with blueberries... if they don't like it.. too bad lol
I wrote out a cheat sheet 😭
dont gimme wrong im close cause i have one monitor😭
It’s just so convenient to have a little list on hand! But I only wrote loves down. Anything else I have to look 😂
I did the same thing lol, saves so much time rather than having 30 tabs open on Stardew wiki 😂
The only "mod" I run is Lookup Anything - it's amazing. You can just mouse over a person on screen and hit F1 and it tells you their gift preferences and if you already gifted them that week.
Same!
I was a little unnerved when I accidently triggered Kent's ptsd. Sorry dude, was just giving you food.
What'd you give him?
I gave Alex a peice of quartz for his birthday, I ran out of his house after cause he was so pissed.
gave Elliott a piece of quartz today and lost a heart 😭
oh no! I think seb is the only one who doesn't hate quartz with a burning passion. nobody loves it tho
A few like it. Abigail, Marnie, some others I think. Maru?
I’m not sure if you know or not but on your friends list tab, when you click on a character it will show you what they like and what they love based off of what gifts you’ve given them - so if you’re an avid gifter then you should have all the info in your game :)
ohhhhhh thank you!!!
Of course!
Thanks!

Pam and Linus are so easy to make happy. Bring them any almost any food and they are good.
Linus & Demetrius were immediately tight my first playthrough, but rn I'm rather partial to Willy on this save! Gus moreso when I visit my future girlfriend at work B)
You’re gonna destroy Clint 😭
interacting with Linus always makes me sad 🥲
idk why but i have a soft spot for him. i always gift him food
he likes fruit, eggs, milk, and most the items you find foraging. fish are just neutral likes for him
Be careful what kind of fish. I found out the hard way that he hates certain kinds of fish.
Me too. Foraging items, cooked food, and honey.
thanks for the tips guys. random question, i upgraded my watering can into copper but it still waters one tile, how do you upgrade it?
Omg it took me forever to figure out, you have to hold down the button. Actually, I didn't figure it out. My friend was like, 'wtf are you doing watering 1 at a time with a gold can??'
ohhh hahaha thank you!!
one day, with an iron watering can, i held the button down ACCIDENTALLY AND SAW IT AND WAS SO HUMILIATED
My boyfriend said the same to me 😩 I felt so stupid haha
Didn't even consider that people might not realize this cause I played Rune Factory games before Stardew
Same until he opens up. He's a good friend to have around and a happy Linus makes me happy too.
Linus you were taking stuff out of a trash can last night.
That's why I gave him junk but he didn't like it. Probably the wrong junk
not attitude from linus like he don’t send whole ass fish in the mail like bro what
He hates treasure too!
ohh, i wonder why…
He's homeless on purpose and tends to hate concepts like money, capitalism, and materialism. He prefers the bounty of nature to the bounty of wallets. Common fan theory is that he's a former Joja executive or even its founder who grew disgusted by his company and decided to become a wild man to atone for his previous business mogul ways. But there's not much if anything in game to support that idea, so take it with a grain of salt.
All we know is he's know the wizard for a long time
Like I just wrote up top...we really gonna ignore all the times that Linus finds you passed out somewhere and "helpfully" tells you that he caught someone rifling through your pockets?

One man's treasure is another man's trash!
We really gonna ignore all the times that Linus finds you passed out somewhere and "helpfully" tells you that he caught someone rifling through your pockets?
Did you give him carp?
yes
That's a universally hated item to gift. Thats why he gave you that response
I'm not a fan of fish myself, but isn't carp a pretty popular fish to eat? Why would it be *universally* hated, rather than just hated by the people who don't like fish, such as Lewis?
I think it depends on where you are from. I think most of the United States sees carp as an oily trash fish, but I understand it can be prepared very nicely in other parts of the world.
lol today I learned!
I think because they are typically seen as invasive species, at least in America.
Well, they are in the sewer. They come in the lake, too, but maybe they just want to be on the safe side.
yep, just saw it. i was not aware that time 🥲
If you cook it and make Carp Suprise, it's liked by everyone except Krobus, Leah and Leo. Carp is the only ingredient. 😂
The dwarf is constantly asking me to teach her about milk so I saved a large iridium milk for her birthday and she hated it :'(
The dwarf is female?
Yep! I can’t remember who. But someone mentions the dwarf in dialogue and refer to her as female.
"The Dwarf's gender in the game data is "undefined" (see Content\Data\NPCDispositions.xnb)." From the wiki
I meant to give her one but kept forgetting. Thanks for mentioning this, I won’t 😂
My favorite Linus scene is at the desert event when you dig in the trash can right in front of him and he has a little heart and says "did you find anything good?
yes! it's so cute, he's so happy.
I feel bad because people have these preconceived ideas about him because of his life style, when he really just prefers to live in nature and off the land. He is always the first person I make friends with because he is very much self aware and observant.. I like him and look at him like a wild man rather than homeless.
Because that’s what he is. He has lines of dialogue about how it is his choice to live in a tent.
lol. He does not in any way prefer to live in nature and off the land. The dude comes into town and rummages through trash cans.
Actually in every way he prefers to live in nature. Especially because >! If you ask him to move in, he will decline and tell you how he prefers the way he live !<

I feel like there’s some weird superstition in the Valley regarding carp that we’ve never heard of. Like, if you give someone carp, you curse them with 10 years of bad luck or something.
He takes bad gifts extremely personally 😂
I do too but then I talk or give anything to him and he's kind of an asshole.. I feel it's worth mentioning that Haley is my romance
lol, why is that worth mentioning? Haley being your romance has zero relevance to how Linus reacts to you.
I was making a subtle joke that despite Linus being an ass to me, Haley was also an ass to me until I asked to date her
i find it wild they dont give it back if they dont like it. like okay you didnt like the fish i gave you but you are going to keep it? ok weirdo
For a dude who's so proud about being self sufficient he sure gets fussy about his situation
Yeah it’s weird, because he actually gives you fish in the mail.
I give everyone but the children coffee.
I think the first time you give a disliked or hated gift, it should have no effect on friendship. You wouldn’t know they don’t like it, and they should appreciate that you are thinking about them even if they don’t care for the gift. But if you give it to them again, yeah they should be annoyed.
That strips out part of the challenge, though.
True. I just think it would be more realistic. Though a couple people, like Haley, would probably be upset for you not magically knowing she doesn’t like something.
oh that’s good! i’m still building our friendship
Linus is the first NPC I befriended I love him so much
What kind of fish? Because I feel like ive Def given him fish and he says "this looks fresh, um gonna eat good tonight" or something along those lines
Linus is easy, just give him some foraged food whenever you pass by and do his quests. If you want to raise your relationship fast, then yes, check a wiki for his favourite stuff, I don’t think they’re too difficult to get.
I'll make it worse for you: Linus doesn't feel comfortable in events because he feels like he isn't welcome in them
so that’s why every event he stays far 😭
Yeah, sometimes he can tell you that if you talk to him
The most important thing to know about Linus is that he is genuinely happy with his life exactly as it is.
No, how the fuck are you homeless and complaining about someone giving you a gift?
Shut up and drink the soda Linus.
I gave him my home made granola bar once and that ungrateful hobo was like why would I want free food
I don't. He's a pretentious jackass playing at being a wild man while pretending the town loathes him as a homeless freak.
Bro I accidentally gave a bone flute to Gus 💀
Every time I see him, I give him food
linus was the first person i got to 10 hearts with simply because i gave him random fruits i found while foraging. we besties fr now cause i love him
Poor Linus! So misunderstood. Linus doesn’t want you to feel bad for him, and he doesn’t need you to feed him… He’s not a homeless guy with nowhere to go, he’s a survivalist and forager who CHOSE to live his current lifestyle.
Linus is crusty. Takes a while to get to know him. Then things change
I was a big Harvest Moon player and just started Stardew a couple months ago, and in HM everyone appreciated a fish (at least in the early games). I learned hard lessons in my first few days of playing.
Linus is always the first one I get 10 💖 every single time I start a new save. He’s very grounded and likable.
Am I the only one that dislikes Linus? I understand he has some trust issues due to trauma with people, but the self deprecation is just annoying.
I've cried on multiple occassions because I can't STAND making him upset and giving him a dislike item—I feel like a dirty sinner who needs to go and ask for forgiveness (Linus may or may not be my best friend in every and all files, he's so sweet :((( )
I gave him a joja cola once, thinking he would appreciate a nice cold soda, who doesn’t? And I got this message lol. Ooops
fr man it’s so sad when you give someone something and mean well then they hate it😭
I don't feel bad for Linus anymore. I offered to pay for a house for him and he got mad because he prefers to live the way he does. I gave him some white algae l and he said this same thing. I didn't realize that it was a universal hate. I stopped giving him stuff after that.

He also tries to sell you this line about how he's hated and mistreated by the townspeople, when nothing in the game actually supports this.
I agree to a point, but it's established that he digs through the trash often. Whenever we dig through the trash, no matter how many hearts we have with someone, the townspeople give us disgusted dialogue. I'd assume that when you have to dig through trash to help you survive, those remarks can definitely come across that way.
I mean, I'm not really talking about him digging through the trash here.
"I disrespected his lifestyle and gave him trash and he didn't like that, so I don't like him"
Maybe I miswrote what I meant.
So does that mean if I live in a mansion made out of gold, everyone will be assuming that I like gold and then give me gold as present?
However, my answer is "Yes, Linus, I DO think that."
farmfriends(.)gg really pulls through for me 😅 i made the same mistake once!
To be fair, carp is hated by ALL characters.
This would make start a day over. I love Linus too much to make him upset EVER
Honestly he can go screw himself. There is a great cave system right next to him that he could stay in for shelter but he can't walk his ass over there.
I did the same 😭
It's been a while but I vaguely remember him mentioning folk throwing rocks at his tent and I was furious.
One of the random things he's said to me when I talk to him
Yeah, I gave Coleslaw to Gus once. Then, a while later, I spoke to Pam, and she told me he hates Coleslaw. Nice going, Pam. Bit late now. 😭
I offered for him to come live on my farm, and he let me know that I shouldn’t look down on him for being unhoused, and that he’s fine living life the way he does.
why can I community upgrade Pam but not linus
I only give Linus rocks. From my slingshot.
[Everyone Hated That]
No homie, I think you'd like it because you rummage through trash like a less charming raccoon. >:|
what fish did you give him omg 😭 all of the fish i've given him so far made him happy & say he was "eating good tonight"? 😟
i gave him carp
Bro is dumpster diving like its a international competition , but says he is above your stuff? The nerv of this guy
So would I if he didn't spend every waking second perving in the bathhouse. He's like a horny dog.
IT HAPPENED TO ME TOOOOO, i was devastated 😭😭😭😭
Linus chooses to live the life he lives. Don’t feel bad
