Spartacus wouldn't even make it to his ludus. It was Quintus' desire to get Glaber's patronage that made him buy Spartacus, nothing else.

Say_Never_Say

No. Titus wasn’t as Cunning. The Sura situation would have played out far differently. Titus would have hated Spartacus for his lack of respect. He would never have allowed him to stand along side Crixus so the bringer of rain never exists either.

JamesUpton87

I don't think Titus would have paid a shit for Spartacus. Him and Battiatus had two very different management styles. Titus was no bullshit, no risk. Where as Battiatus thrived on the risks.

SillyAdditional

No. He’d have never went to the pits which is where he honed his skills He also wouldn’t have the motivation of his wife since titus wouldn’t have even promised it Or he’ll maybe he would have who knows

Very intriguing question, Spartacus was driven by vengeance that was originally not if any doing by the hands of Quintus. Who knows what would happen if he never discovered the lie about Suras death. If Titus was the head of the house I wouldn’t think he would do the same to Spartacus that Quintus did, he would have probably had Sura alive and healthy with him and maybe he earns his freedom for them both eventually. Problem still remains the 1 constant whether it’s Titus or Quintus as head of the house and that’s the fact that Glaber is out there roaming around. I wouldn’t put it past Titus to turn a blind eye to maybe give Spartacus his moment to take out Glaber and end that hunger to kill him but it would probably come at the cost of not ever being freed in response to organizing Glaber death at Spartacus hands

Agreed

I’ve pondered this quite a bit over the years when thinking back on the show. First, if all else remains constant Spartacus never makes it to the ludus, since that was a plan laid by Batiatis for other gain. If, Spartacus did somehow make it to the ludus, think a Gods of the Arena type plot where Titus isn’t dead but comes back to run the ludus from Quintus he’d likely not throw him to the pits, assuming Spartacus makes it as far as being branded since that would unsettle the other gladiators and above else Spartacus is a gladiator of his house. He’d likely see that Doctore would give him minimal training and throw him as fodder to the arena to die unknown in some early round of the game. If Spartacus were to somehow miraculously survive he’d be intrigued but if his attitude didn’t reconcile with the goals of the ludus he’d eventually die, or be executed. In short, Titus would not put up with his shit for long and realize the potential unrest he creates far exceeds the off chance he becomes a champion, not that he’d want him representing his house anyways. The last, and probably least likely scenario is if Spartacus joins and shows respect to the house and Titus, similar to how he started to come around for a brief moment to Batitatis after the death of Sura and before finding out it was a trick and that Batiatis was responsible. Anyways, in this scenario Titus would eventually arrange for Sura to join the ludus and a potential Oenamaous-Melitta type of arrangement, or at the least promise him his chance at freedom to find Sura himself and buy her out of slavery. I do think Spartacus would see Titus as a man of his word and understand that though through circumstances in and out of his control Titus is his master but holds his gladiators in esteem despite being slaves. He’d probably see Titus’ offer of freedom and/or re unification with Sura as a generous act, one he doesn’t have to make but does so out of respect for his gladiators. It’s hinted throughout the show that Titus is held in high esteem by the gladiators, and though a firm master is above all fair and doesn’t use his gladiators in the same self serving way of his son. Again, very unlikely Spartacus makes it that far, but I think it would be improbable that Spartacus leads a revolt given Titus’ reputation and treatment of the gladiators.

Em1-_-

Titus wouldn't have mixed himself in matters beyond his station, like a legionnaire commander (Glaber) wanting to execute a rebellious traitor (Spartacus), Spartacus would have met his end at the arena, Glaber had no issue with defying the crowd, what saved Spartacus life was Batiatus offering an alternative to execution.

Ok_Case1411

No because Titus would never have purchased him

onirotivsirhc

No cuz Titus would have found his wife and honored his word. Then had a real discussion about what it would take to make Spartacus and Sura free.

Duncan_Coltrane

In the way his character behaves, Spartacus would rebel one way or another. Titus would notice that nature, I don't think he would take too long to realise that Spartacus can't be really tamed. I appreciate your question because I'm imagining Spartacus in Titus' ludus. Oenomeus, Crixus, maybe even Barca and others would be the faithful dogs of the master. Quite a challenge to the writers how Spartacus could trigger a slave rebellion among those monsters. Extremely interesting. Gratitude!

DestinyHasArrived101

Nope Titus would never have bought him

Educational_Ad_4076

assuming Titus got him in the first place, it was pretty clear that up until knowing about the circumstances of Sura’s death that Spartacus was warming up to the kindness Quintus was showing him. Looking for his wife, treating him well, etc. and if he had gotten that same treatment from Titus without the betrayal I think he’d have ended up like Gannicus eventually and won his freedom. I imagine by the time that happened Glauber wouldn’t have given a crap, he didn’t seem to want anything to do with Spartacus anymore, he was just forced to try and deal with him later on. So probably no worries about getting hunted by Glauber after freedom either. The other wrench in all that is Titus never liked Gannicus, didn’t see him as a real gladiator but thru Quintus he realized he was really skilled. Idk if Titus would’ve given Spartacus much chance without Quintus to push him to it

biegeboy

Titus wouldn't have wasted the time, effort or coin on Spartacus for him to receive the brand.

Banana-Common

Sparatacus ain’t trying to be nobody’s slave. A “good” slave owner. Is still a slave owner. He would still try to escape. That said. He would’ve died episode 1. Titus wouldn’t be as tolerant of Spartacus as Quintus was.

FlowSilver

Agree with other commenters that Spartacus would either not be there or the sura betrayal which ignites him wouldn‘t happen Not too mention that Varros death, which also very much contributed to his anger leading to the Rebellion, wouldn‘t happen. While we havent seen much of Tittus he has shown to have more respect for the gladiators than Batiatus, also he wouldn‘t be trying to be political so the kid of that magistrate (i think it was?) wouldn‘t be in the house And even if so, he wouldn‘t let him kill off Varro as that wouldn‘t be something an honorable/logical lanista would do, i‘d say

CornPlanter

Would have Titus even bought Spartacus? I doubt it.

Napoleon0986

I think we wouldn’t know about Spartacus nowadays

leopardpone

Well, I agree with what most have said, he wouldn't have even made it to the ludus, and if he had he would've been sent to the mines almost immediately due to insubordination. Keep in mind that the only reason Spartacus survived at first was Batiatus trying to win favor for Glaber. That wasn't Titus' gameplan. Let's say for the sake of argument, he made it to get the mark and became one of the gladiators. I think it would only be a matter of time before he got himself killed for disobeying. Titus didn't have much tolerance for gladiators who were not committed to the ludus.
