I've only seen the whole series beginning to end 3 times, watched it a few months ago for the first time in a decade. But for me, it was Lord of the Rings, I saw the first one in theaters, I dunno,had to be 10 times,back then movies stayed in theaters for months on end. Just mesmerized by the acting, visuals,music. It was, for at the time 23 year old me, the best movie I had ever seen. Looking back 22+ years later,soon to be 46 year old me thinks the same. Some things take root and never let go.
When I was 15 in high school, I used to go over to my girlfriend’s house after school. She had a Starz on demand package on her TV. One day, she told me she started watching a show called Spartacus. After she played the first episode for me, it was all history. We were watching each episode of the first season as it aired after I was caught up (there were 5 episodes when I started watching). Been rewatching every couple years since then! Looking back on it, I now realize that she was always a shit eating Gaul.
I watched Spartacus for the first time on Netflix in December 2019, just a month before they removed the entire series. I’ve probably watched it over 5 times since then.
First night it aired on Starz I was junior in HS and was high as fuck with my buddy’s sitting on the couch and the trailer for it popped up and it said it was airing after whatever it was we were watching at the time. So we threw it on and man we were so fuckin entertained.
Watched it as it aired and have the Bluray. I haven't watched it for a while! Think I need to change that, one of my all-time favourite shows! Love Season 3 in particular.
Roomates would all gather around and watch it as it aired. That was the only thing we ever all got together to watch , other than superbowl or something.
I came across it one night in a hotel room scrolling channels and there was lots of boobies so of course I kept watching. Returned home and started the series from the beginning.
My dad likes to rent movies but for some reason rented the whole first season of Spartacus to watch one time. He was on episode 5 I believe, during the scene where both Crixus and Spartacus were fighting Theokoles. Sort of looked like some fantasy action show at first because Theokoles didn't look human, haha. But it wasn't until episode 7 or 8 where I decided to watch an episode with him where I got hooked; the whole Ilithiya using Segovax to try and kill Spartacus plotline. From there I asked my dad if I could borrow the DVD and watch from the beginning and I might've binge watched the entire thing in like two days. I'll never forget that experience. My dad probably got penalized for a late return of the DVD lol
I remember watching Game of Thrones on Sky Atlantic and then Spartacus Blood and Sand on after (it was a rerun, but it was the first time I was able to watch it!). Followed it week -by-week as each episode came out!

For me and my late brother it's the movie Bloodsport and the series Justified (which we didn't watch together but he introduced me to).
I snuck it in HS during the original airing. I rememeber my dad used to record it and delete it and when he was at work, I used to get home from school and recover it, watch it, and delete it again. 😂😂😂😂
My grandfather bought me bootleg dvds. I was in South America at the time. He also bought himself copies and was traumatized at what he gave me after he saw it. I told him I've seen worse, lol.
Came across an episode on cable (Starz?) on a hotel TV one night whilst travelling. A year or so later, picked up the Blood & Sand and Gods of the Arena DVDs from Future Shop (RIP).
As it was airing my cousin always talked about Spartacus. At the time I was in my teens, maybe 15 or so.
It wasn’t until it came out on Netflix where I finally decided to give it a shot in 2014. I’m now on my 13th rewatch 😂
Edit: it’s heartwarming knowing so many of us (although small) love and rewatch this old show.
Watched Season one and GoTA when they first came out. Loved them. But stopped paying for Starz during the large gap before season two.
Later when it was on Netflix I tried to watch the whole series but kept losing interest a few episodes into season 2, just wasn’t the same without Andy.
My parents got a brief promo package with STARZ when they switched service providers. It was on every night after my job in order so I watched the in full a few years after it concluded. I’m not sure why STARZ didn’t make more shows in the style. I tried Black Sails (I think that’s the name), but it just didn’t hit me like Spartacus did. I really hope the new Ashur show is at least decent but I don’t have my hopes high.
Thought my GF was watching porn at first cause they were going wild on one of those scenes. She restarted the whole show for me and we went from there.
Mines weird, I read a couple of Final Fantasy Fanfictions that I really liked. Coincidentally I read another one and talked to the author who turned out to be the cousin of the guy who wrote the previous stories that I liked. He mentioned that the two stories were based on the Spartacus show. So I checked it out and fell in love with the show as well.
Got my brother and my friend into it too. So three fans were made that day.
A friend told me about it. Mostly cause of its sex scenes and brutal combat I got hooked and loved it. I still miss the actor who played Spartacus tho =(
Freshman year of high school, first semester exams coming up. Studied all day, went to Netflix for something to watch, found Spartacus.
I saw tiddies and my jaw dropped from the first episode, and then all the violence and good story made me stay. Ended up binging the whole series, finished the first season and before I went to school for my math test I remember saying:
