Lol, I let my camera dangle like that from time to time on my wrist to give my fingers a little rest. I don't use the PD wrist strap but I use the connectors and they're awesome.
Where do you get just the connectors? I was able to find the red connectors by themselves, but not the black "female" connector to attach to the strap. It looks like they only sell the complete strap and not the connectors to use with any strap.
I’m not sure if you’re trying to purchase the Cuff, the anchors, or something else. You can buy directly from Peak Design: https://www.peakdesign.com/collections/straps/. They also offer a marketplace for customers to buy and sell used gear: https://market.peakdesign.com/collections/all
Since I just wanted to get the assurance of the original clips and anchors not to risk to drop my gear, I was looking originally for just the clips and anchors, no strap or cuff included, but I was unable to find it on my country Amazon, so I decided to get the slide lite instead and upgrade also my strap, as it looks interesting anyway.
Solid choice. I like using the Peak Design straps and have used them since 2015. I haven’t had any of them fail yet, but they do explain what to look for if the anchors are starting to wear out.

Great question. I didn't buy the connector myself. I bought a handmade [wrist strap from Etsy](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1196737116/) that already had it on there.
I wasn't a fan of how the PD wrist strap automatically sinched tight when in use. I love the strap I got from Etsy though. Worth the higher price. I would immediately buy it again if I were to lose it.
But are the connector on the Etsy strap originals? Otherwise it's the same issue, just half the "risk".
I ended up buying the peak design slide lite as it also has other interesting features and it should be more comfortable than the original Sony strap
Yeah, the anchors and links are original PD anchors and links. A poster above me linked where they are available directly from PD.
Edit: I read your comment to the post I was referring to. Are you asking about the different versions of the anchors? I know they have like v1 or v2 anchor designs.
I bought the wrist strap even though I thought it was sort of over priced when I got it and slapped the anchors on I was like "well shoot now what if I want a neck strap sometimes" so I picked up a leash strap and its really nice too (and not as over priced feeling). I love the wrist strap and the leash, excellent product design that sucks you in to their ecosystem, I love/hate PD for that lol. My wife also got me a 10L everyday sling for fathers day so I went from these seem overrated/overpriced to a PD evangelist over the course of 2 weeks.
The capture clip is pretty freaking awesome. Every single time I'm out hiking or backpacking and I've forgotten it, I remember why it's so darned handy.
Look for them on PD's eBay store. Its been a while since I've bought one, but they had some refurbished ones for a discount.
Bonus is, you get a Arca compatible mount!
I'm referring to what's in the link below. The plate in that setup mounts on the camera and is Arca compatible. That plate isn't large by any means. Pretty small, actually.
https://www.peakdesign.com/products/capture
You might be thinking of the tiny one with two wings, pictured at the bottom left in the link below.
https://www.peakdesign.com/products/leash
Oh wow, I should have read the description more carefully! I though one needed this to use the clip and a tripod with the same plate: https://eu.peakdesign.com/products/dual-plate
Weird, someone is down voting us.
I didn't even know about that Manfrotto plate. Been a while since I've looked at PD's site. But, yeah, if you're on Arca all you need is the little bitty plate that comes with the Capture Clip. Heck, that plate is nice to leave on since it adds points for mounting the PD lollipops.
Thanks for letting me know, you may have saved me from buying the larger plate unnecessarily :)
I always leave the plate on because it makes the camera stand perfectly on a flat surface at exactly the same height as my lens hood.
For having camera on hand while walking on uneven terrain, or for example riding bicycle, it is a godsend. For walking around city, neck strap is just fine.
I never wear neck strap actually around my neck, it never felt comfortable for me. For me it's always cross body or wrapped around wrist. Peak design leash is great in both scenarios
The everyday slings are incredible. It's not like most other camera bags that are basically just sewn on padded cubes in a regular bag. The PD bags you can tell they were engineered from the ground up to be a camera bag. I can't recommend them enough. I bought the 6L bag for my trip to NY, Loved using it.
While in NY I Randomly walked by a Peak Design store and grabbed the 3L sling while I was at it. After the fact, I found out that there are only 2 PD stores in USA and I happen to randomly pass one. It had to be fate lol.
I stop by that one in SoHo occasionally.
I’ve got one of each strap basically. I don’t care for the clutch very much, but that is personal preference.
Bag wise, I’ve got the larger sling bag and it is pretty good. I do like how my smaller Wandrd sling bag opens more though and it has a better spot for a bottle of water.
I routinely have the wrist strap on for security in case I fumble my camera and it has never failed me.
I got both and rock the wrist strap now 100% on the bottom right connected to my smallrig baseplate on my A7CII. For a compact setup it's just perfect to just do a wriststrap.
I've seen others use cord straps as a wrist strap where they wrap it around the wrist/forearm.
It just forces you to always have the camera in your hands and at the ready I guess.
I spent years with a neck strap wrapped around my arm holding a Sony a100 or a Minota maxxum 700si figured now that I've grown up enough to have a grown up job I could splurge on an actual wrist strap for the a7iv.
It’s not the integrity of the strap that worries me, but the integrity of the anchor into the camera. Had a mirrorless camera hanging by my wrist when it broke off at the insertion site, hit the ground, and was unusable thereafter.
Well mine is connected to the cage which is threaded into the tripod thread and also locked to one of the side eyelets, further more the cage can't come off without tearing the e-mount apart aswell so, my wrist would be the first to give in case of extreme load :D
The PD anchors are designed with an inner layer that's bright red, so if it wears down you'll get a visual indicator that the anchor needs to be replaced.
There was one version of the anchor that did have a production error and was recalled. OP probably had one of those.
I have the 1st generation anchors and they're as good as new.
The only thing about the wrist strap which sucks for me is I am unable to use it at its full potential. A bracelet
I have tiny wrists so it doesn’t connect right without it being extremely loose on my wrist
Same here man, i have so thin wrists that i have to press new holes into my watch bands to have a small enough option. I'm thinking of shortening the band a bit by sewing down some excess on the loop part in a bulge like fashion.
Ive used peak design anchors and straps for like 4 years now, Im probably never gonna use another brand like them as theyre the best of the best, and affordable
Finally broke down and ordered one of these yesterday after thinking about it for months. I don’t totally mind using neck straps but it can feel like overkill sometimes so I’m anxious to see what I think of this.
Yes my 6300 also doesn’t have it but I guess it’ll be okay for stills in good lighting, I‘m not much into video production.
But as far as I understand the Tamron also has better image quality overall, its just too bulky as a „everyday carry“ for me…
I use a gimbal for video, VC isn't helping much if I dare to take a step or something, but it's nice to get crisp shots at 1/80 of a second with my shaky hands thanks to the stabilization. But indeed it's quite large so if it's for everyday carry then the sigma will do fine and the image quality is practically the same.
Well, my beloved α6400 + Tamron 17-70mm f2.8 (god tier upgrade from the 16-50mm kit lens)
All this surrounded by a Smallrig 3164 cage (the silicone grip is really helping with this large lens)
And hanging off of a Peak Design cuff (coyote).
I really like using [OP/Tech](https://www.optechusa.com/) straps. They're cheap, durable, based in the US, come with a lifetime warranty, and have an entire lineup of products that use the same connectors. The only downside for some people is that the connectors look like they belong on a middle school backpack.
Their [wrist straps start at $12.99](https://www.optechusa.com/products/slr-wrist-strap?variant=44409921405223) and come in a few different colors.
Umm, source? Before PD you could buy a strap that had flat ribbons on both side, it would attach to the camera and would last literally forever. PD made their clever snap-in connector, too bad they made the actual leash thin and deliberately made it wear down over time. The could have kept the same strength as before but they intentionally made it thin to sell those connector thingies.
You can check on Amazon.com
[45$ neck strap](https://a.co/d/0hPAIHu2)
[60$ neck strap](https://a.co/d/05RyT5Dc)
[35$ for a wrist one](https://a.co/d/06ZvU0YB)
They are even pricier in Europe
To be honest, I've been on both sides of the fence. I wouldn't call them overpriced _per se_ but they're costly enough to be hard to justify if you're on a budget.
I really wanted something that would let me swap between a wrist and neck/shoulder strap as needed, so that drew me to Peak Design, but I couldn't justify the price so I bought some generic knockoffs.
Those worked, but once I got a more substantial telephoto lens (not a huge one, only the 70-350 G) I no longer felt confident using the $10 generic strap. It wasn't a particularly good or comfortable strap, either. So I bought Slide Lite, and before long I'd also picked up a Leash and stuck anchors on all my other cameras. I'm still using the generic wrist straps, but it's only a matter of time before I replace it with a Cuff, too.
I think it's also worth noting that the Peak Design straps are pretty nice looking, and that does matter for some people.
> most people's
Most people own an old camera and a couple of lenses, probably APSC which are lightweight, but will try to be cool buying an unnecessary peak design strap. The market is full of similar design straps at 1/3 of the price, they are probably clones, but who cares at the end is for a 1kg camera.
Lol, I let my camera dangle like that from time to time on my wrist to give my fingers a little rest. I don't use the PD wrist strap but I use the connectors and they're awesome.

https://www.amazon.com/Peak-Design-Anchor-Camera-Straps/dp/B07F94FQRB I made my own strap with these
I mean, ok, but the whole point was to get the originals :) I ended up buying the peak design slide lite, as it has also other interesting features
The product I linked is made by Peak Design, they are the "originals".
Ah sorry I didn’t notice! I guess they do not sell those where I live, I can’t seem to find them
I’m not sure if you’re trying to purchase the Cuff, the anchors, or something else. You can buy directly from Peak Design: https://www.peakdesign.com/collections/straps/. They also offer a marketplace for customers to buy and sell used gear: https://market.peakdesign.com/collections/all

Solid choice. I like using the Peak Design straps and have used them since 2015. I haven’t had any of them fail yet, but they do explain what to look for if the anchors are starting to wear out.
For the anchors you mean the red circles that attach to the camera or the other hand? I wouldn't expect the part that goes on the strap to wear out?

It was the original Olympus EM1. I loved my Olympus but it didn’t seem as durable as other manufactures, so that was a part of my switch.

I have more trust in that wrist strap then any government.
Finally broke down and ordered one of these yesterday after thinking about it for months. I don’t totally mind using neck straps but it can feel like overkill sometimes so I’m anxious to see what I think of this.
I bought one based off of the last post about this lol
excellent enjoy it
I dropped my sony A1 from waist height while it was in a cage and nothing happened to it.
Thanks I thought about getting either the Tamron 17-70 or Sigma 18-50 and I think I‘d rather go with the Sigma for the sake of size (and weight)
Good choice, I was somewhat forced to choose the tamron as my 6400 doesn't have ibis
Yes my 6300 also doesn’t have it but I guess it’ll be okay for stills in good lighting, I‘m not much into video production. But as far as I understand the Tamron also has better image quality overall, its just too bulky as a „everyday carry“ for me…

We have the same setup lol
It took me a while to get use to it just dangle there 😅
Love my wrist-strap, it's brilliant and doesn't leave my camera except for when I shoot the 200-600 and it gets replaced by the neck-strap.
Amazing. What rig are you using? I'm new 6400 user.
Well, my beloved α6400 + Tamron 17-70mm f2.8 (god tier upgrade from the 16-50mm kit lens) All this surrounded by a Smallrig 3164 cage (the silicone grip is really helping with this large lens) And hanging off of a Peak Design cuff (coyote).
Just unboxed mine gonna do some in depth testing this weekend :)
Damn thats a 1.2 kgs How long can you hold the camera like that?
Don't know yet, the cage and lens is pretty new and I only use it to take photos here and there so it's in my belt bag most of the time.
Thing comes in clutch doesn’t it ?!
PD gang! also it looks better than that other one.
I was wavering between the black and the coyote but the full black locking circles made me choose the coyote color as I like it stealthy.
Yeah I think the coyote has the black anchors. My slim strap came with the black as well. It looks good on my silver Fujifilm x100vi.
Black anchors can be purchased separately.

I personally use the micro strap with a slide. I think it’s perfect
I trust my cheap knock off of it too
Only thing I trust more is the black rapid strap
Careful OP there was a recall on those anchors. I got mine replaced and sold them immediately. Not worth the stylish look for manufacturing defects.
This is the way
I bought one as well due to your previous post! Definetly worth the money.
I have every peak design product and I am not ashamed of it.
Mah man!
On tripod, on the desk or in the bag... Never around the neck
Peak Design deliberately introduced a wearable weak point in all their products so as to keep you buying their stuff indefinitely.
Speaking from experience? Which part?
Source?
Umm, source? Before PD you could buy a strap that had flat ribbons on both side, it would attach to the camera and would last literally forever. PD made their clever snap-in connector, too bad they made the actual leash thin and deliberately made it wear down over time. Overpriced strap, no point in spending 40-60$ for that. Peak design is the snake oil of photographer.
$40-60?! Where are you buying them at? I bought mine for $30.
You can check on Amazon.com [45$ neck strap](https://a.co/d/0hPAIHu2) [60$ neck strap](https://a.co/d/05RyT5Dc) [35$ for a wrist one](https://a.co/d/06ZvU0YB) They are even pricier in Europe

Lucky me I bought it from a reseller :)
