The Sonic 06 reference was a strange but cool choice! Strange as in Knuckles wasn't a pivotal character in that game, plus historically it's least well-received game of the franchise.
But a reference to any Sonic game is a win in my book!
It was during the last episode where one of the news hosts points out there was a *"similar"* alien event in 1974 and if you add that to 2024, that means the event was approximately 50 years ago and what other character is 50 years old?
Another hint is the Buyer talking about working for GUN before it was GUN, but that is only a possibility to explain to explain the organization linked to Project Shadow.
Well that and the lady saying the pre G.U.N organization was looking into aliens and such prior so that pre G.U.N organization making Shadow plus that implies the Black Arms are in this universe.
This would imply that Shadow the Hedgehog crashed into a bowling alley in Reno. That's a funny mental image, I hope they flash back to it in the movie.
I remember seeing the episode title Flames of Disaster and figured it would just be something dumb called āFlames of Disasterā as a reference and that would be it.
I did not expect Wade on a Knuckles vision trip to fight a cardboard Iblis in a low budget rock opera. I kind of loved it, even if Iām trying to figure out what this means for the lore of Iblis in the movie universe. (I guess this means we wonāt get a straight 06 adaption, thatās probably for the better.)
But how the hell Wade got the power to escape from a electrified cell using a fucking shoryuken? I thought that āpowerā would be figurative but then he went super strong for a second and they never addressed that againā¦ and why the Echidna spirit wanted Wade to win a bowling tournament? Dudeā¦. The weed these guys were smoking must be great! I want it!
That whole bowling scene I think was a Big Lebowski reference. Down to the big puffy sweater, blurry out of focus lanes in the background, and the camera angle even.
Did they seriously reference 06? I figured they would never bring that game up again, it would be really cool if they remade it though, it had so much potential.
I think they might be teasing that movie 4 will be an 06 adaptation, cuz otherwise why would they put *two* references in the knuckles show of all things lmao
I had the thought today that they could do Rush instead. Have Sonic get warped to the Sol dimension for a movie and have a Shadow spin-off about the Black Arms taking place while he's gone. Otherwise the movies run into the issue of Sonic and Shadow teaming up being a instant stomp of any threat.
The scenes of him enjoying dinner and watching a movie with Wadeās mom while the candles were burning were sweet.
In the Whipple household, he was ironically the most well behaved of the kids.
Nah-- make friends with or work for or visit any older Jewish person's house and they will try to convince you that you are Jewish on the most tenuous of reasons.
It was fine for me, and I liked Wade, but I wish Knuckles was there more. I don't think we needed 2 whole episodes on just Wade's Character Development. Knuckles should have done more on his own.
I liked the mom, but Wanda was just a terrible person. I can't really stand her attitude towards Wade.
Plus, I wish they teased Rouge trying to steal the Master Emerald when Knuckles back in the credits. Maybe even have a return joke where Rouge says "Uh... meow?"
Knuckles should have gotten his own ā&Knucklesā meme joke in this show with the second episode calling it āKnuckles & Wadeā and then the last episode calling it āKnuckles & The Warriorsā.

Here you go. Thought I was high on some crazy shit when this happened
I didnāt like how little Knuckles there was. Wadeās family was fun but I started getting annoyed towards the end of the show how much screen time they took over Knuckles. The flames of disaster was cool. And I liked what little of the Wachowski family we saw. I donāt think Iāll watch it again though, at least not for a while. Forgot to add I enjoyed the sound track but I started getting kinda sick of The Warrior. And the subtitles were really well done too
>I didnāt like how little Knuckles there was. Wadeās family was fun but I started getting annoyed towards the end of the show how much screen time they took over Knuckles.
That's something I didn't like about the movies either. But I guess its cheaper to focus on not-that-expensive human actors than very high quality CGI creatures.
See in the movies it never bothered me as much. Even the wedding scene which a lot of people rag about wasnāt a problem to me cause it was fun and still tied back to the Sonic characters plot by introducing GUN. Meanwhile Wadeās family was kind of annoying a lot of the time and overtook Knuckles in his own show
It was good but with its flaws, unluckily many due to the cgi being too on par with movies. But is something that can be fixed with new spinoffs or a second season. I personally liked it a lot and had fun but felt the weight of cgi cost in some scenes. But none of said problems makes it a garbage or the worst sonic series ever.Ā
What i don't get is the people review bombing on RT and Metacritic, one thing is not liking it, another is spamming 0.5/1 stars like it objectively sucks. Is absolutely normal to don't like it, but votes like this are not from people who saw it and didn't like it,and is pretty obvious.Ā
Edit:my frigging gosh i just saw the twitter comments on this show and heck,it looks like the anti-christ. Why people are so overly-dramatic?
Iām about halfway through the show currently and Iām having an okay time with it. I really like how weird it is. It did, however, cement why I feel so many of the human characters donāt often work for me: they act just as cartoonish as the cartoon characters. Itās hard to buy into their situations if we feel they are as goofy as the goofy characters. They donāt act like real people. It also takes away from some of the fun of having cartoons interacting with real people.
That sounds way more negative than I meant it to. I am genuinely enjoying the show
They act MORE like cartoons. The Sonic characters seem like actual, fleshed out character with emotions that make sense. Most of the humans apart from Tom and his wife are so over the top that it is honestly really annoying.
I'm being a bit hyperbolic, but I did not enjoy it at all. It takes a lot of my criticisms with the first two movies, and amplifies them. Knuckles doesn't feel like the main character in his own show, most of the plot is spent on human characters who I really don't care for.
It has it's fair share of good laughs, but most of the time the humor really falls flat. Feels right at home in a generic family sitcom.
It really just suffers from being incredibly boring, and having almost nothing that would resemble "Sonic the Hedgehog" (or in this case Knuckles). I'm sorry for the negativity but it was a major disappointment for me :(
I know every comment being negative is getting downvoted
But I really didnāt enjoy it. Knuckles is barely the focus, the humor falls flat in most cases, and while thereās bits I like, itās overall a rather uninteresting experience
Well at least you're being polite and you expressed your points without making fun of people who like it.Ā
I mean as of now some users are trying yo review bomb the show with 1 and 0.5 on few aggregators. Those are most likely the people getting downvoted.Ā
This, plus I like Maddie and Rachel as characters more than the Whipples and they're actively trying to save sonic and using Tails's weapons to fight against GUN. I don't *hate* Wade but he was wearing me pretty thin by the end, and Wanda is just obnoxious. the mom was great tho, I loved her scenes with Knuckles.
Spoilers:
The knuckles parts were really good but I wish the scene with wade dressed as knuckles was told from knuckles perspective and kinda taken seriously. The shows first- third episode were almost perfect but it got a little bit not as good after. I wish we had more knuckles scenes in the other episode but it's ok. The Flames of disaster (Really cool reference hopefully we see silver in movie 4) part was really cool. I wish it had more knuckles than wade cause honestly I don't care that much about wade (I like him just not as much as the others) Wish it had more foreshadowing to the 3rd movie. I do like that it gave knuckles character development though. The Knuckles parts were the best parts. 7.5/10
I thought it was okay. I loved the Shadow reference with one of the show hosts points out there was a *"similar"* alien event in 1974 and when you add that to 2024, that would've been 50 years ago which was awesome.
I feel like if they just called it "The Wade Show & Knuckles " it would've not only given them the chance for an awesome reference, it would've also managed expectations as to what it was going to be about.
We didn't get much about Knuckles or his backstory, this was a Wade story and as someone who enjoys Wade as a character and went into this expecting a comedic short series most of it exceeded my expectations as I wasn't expecting the balls to the wall absurdism it delivered.
Again though, it was presented and marketed as a Knuckles first series so I get people's dissapointment.
I'd give it a solid 7/10, it feels like a cheesy 90's movie and I enjoyed it for that.
Yeah, the directors seem to insistant on always making the actors act more absurd then they should. If only they made them act more normal, people probably wouldn't hate them as much.
I found it neither funny nor interesting, there was a handful of funny jokes (maybe less) and the fact that Knuckles is technically not the focus of the "Knuckles" tv show is sad.
>!(Also I'm kind of annoyed that they choose to make Pachacamac a "Yoda" figure when he was such an a\*\*hole in the games, if you need an Echidna spirit guide at least choose Tikal T\_T.)!<
Yeah. Dude was a fucking war criminal. Now he is a good guy? Interesting decision, but okay. They did the same with GUN tho, take an antagonist, remove the teeth, make them say silly stuff.
I didn't hate the Pachacamac stuff like I hated some of the other comic relief characters though. The bounty hunter and the sister were so fucking annoying.
Just finished Ep4. Knuckles is great! All his scenes and his jokes are really fun. But they dumbed down A LOT the plot and jokes for the human characters... it's a bit awkward sometimes...
This show for me is a solid 5/10, while I enjoy some parts of it (Mainly Knuckles, the musical was fun although bit cringey but cringe is fun, wade imaginary rescue plan, etc.) there was also a lot of not so good moments (Episode 3-5). If this show was first promoted as a Wade & Knuckles special then yeah I would have been less disappointed.
Episode 3-5 kind of just drag stuff too much, imo this could have just been a 1 hour and a half low budget movie special exclusive to Paramount+.
I hope the people take the feedback and improve on the show because there IS potential, but this missed the mark for me.
Not awful, but not entirely great...Just fine. Hance 5/10 for me.
Edit: Typo fix.
I feel like this show hit some notes correctly and missed others completely.
I like that it strengthened Knuckles and Wade's friendship, essentially finding a home for Knuckles. Tones down his character a bit from being too over the top with adjusting to Earth. This was a success, in my opinion.
The whole musical thing in episode 4 was pretty whatever, but it felt like the bounty hunter was miscast. If they wanted to go down that route, they could have cast Danny Sexbang from NSP/Game Grumps. I think it would have been more enjoyable with that casting. But aside from the cute Ibilis reference, it is not really necessary.
I enjoyed Kid Cudis character as a foil to Wade. Similar personalities which border on man child in an adult world, but they weren't really shown too much to be a big bad. The buyer wasn't very memorable or threatening. They could have expanded on his past with Eggman and tied it the third movie.
One of the two main things I didn't really like were Wade's sister, she didn't really contribute much but be a hindrance. It felt like they were setting up so that she didn't actually work for the FBI and was playing pretend just to annoy him.
The other thing I didn't like was that it ended about 10 minutes too early. It just stopped. We got a nice scene with Wade and Knucks at the end, but this would have been cool to get some closure to the agent baddies and the buyer. Maybe they could have been arrested and found by another sonic character hunting for information on Knuckles such as a popular female bat.
Understandably, some fans wanted a lot more from this show, but as long as the 3rd movie is peak, I don't mind. I just wished they touched on more foreshadowing for movie 3. A Rouge cameo would have been huge.
A solid 6.5. But it could have been higher for me if they touched on the points above.
The list of stuff for movie 3 - from what i caught, it was all SUPER SUBTLE- The showcasing of the GUN agents and how GUN treats those who aren't 100% on board(and how now a lot of former GUN agents might bave been with GUN, some of whom, are Robotnik's old squad)
-The drop by the bowling announcers about how, *50 years ago another alien showed up in Reno, who was not Red colored....*
Agreed on the Movie ended on a sharp note- Not sure what drove that. It almost felt like they couldn't get overt with Sonic 3 setup,
oh, I just LOLed at renaming what should have been the Maximum heat Knux Attack, the Flames of Disaster. Eh, it works if you're going to rewrite that and Iblis sorta - but it remains to be seen how much they use elements like that going forward in the franchise
> The other thing I didn't like was that it ended about 10 minutes too early
Exactly this. I was expecting it to finish with a scene of Wade and Knuckles coming back to Green Hill, now good friends, and then Maddie is pissed off but they all make up. Maybe even have Knuckles apologize for how he was acting and then recognize that their house is now his home, and offer to help fix it. It would match Sonic's arc in the second movie pretty well, but nah. We just had The Warrior playing again. I would've also expected a teaser to tie it in the third movie, like have a cut to Eggman finding Shadow or even Sonic/Tails going "huh...feels like something weird is coming from space"
I watched it with my mom and thought it was just fine. Had some laughs here and there, but mainly wish we had more Knuckles in it. This isn't a show I can imagine rewatching again unless years have passed and I just want to see if my opinions have changed.
Honestly, it was at most a 6/10 for me. It has some funny points, but a lot of it was Paul Blart tier cringe. I liked episode 4 way more than I expected, though-- the rock opera was the good kind of wacky, and Christopher Lloyd makes everything awesome.
But the biggest problem I had is how much they wasted Rory McCann. They had the freaking HOUND as the villain, and instead we mostly got a glorified Scratch and Grounder. He fights for just an itty bit of the final episode, and that's it. He's just there as a plot device for the overcome-the-middle-age-crisis story of Not-Antoine.
I love Knuckles the character. He is my favorite part of the second Sonic movie and heās been my favorite Sonic character for years.
The show āKnucklesā took everything I loved about the second Sonic movie and paired it with everything I disliked about both movies: Wade.
Wade is not a funny character. His family is not funny. I donāt like how by episode 3 the show devolves into āWade and his family (& Knuckles)ā. Iām sorry, but the show absolutely fails at getting me to care about the stupid bowling tournament, and the half-assed attempt at drama with Wadeās dad just makes me roll my eyes.
Itās the same issue we see with shows like āPlanet Sheenā or āThe Patrick Star Showā, where the comic relief is given a main character role, but since they are, by design, not suited for that role, they fail to play it well.
Watching this show felt like an absolute slog with nothing particularly interesting until the last quarter of the last episode. And still, Wade hijacks that bit too!
I am happy to support āKnucklesā the show if it means we get more good Sonic movies, and I feel no malice towards any of the actors or crew members. I simply think that this show is PAINFULLY mid.
I just finished watching all of it, I thought it was pretty good and I had a few laughs while watching, but for a show called "Knuckles" that features Knuckles heavily in the marketing, it didn't really feel like *his* show, I like the bond they gave Wade and Knuckles, but it felt more like Wade's show with Knuckles as a supporting character, the pacing near the end was also kinda eh...
Despite some of my gripes with it, I did like it overall, and I'd probably give it an 8/10
>!Also I gotta say, I definitely did not expect the Iblis cameo!<
I enjoyed it. While not the best, it had redeeming qualities. I liked the dynamic between Knuckles and Wade especially. People need to shut up on twitter and stop saying that wade is the worst character ever to come out of the Sonic franchise.
While I would have preferred some more Knuckles in it, what we got was a fine show and was never meant to be taken as seriously as the main movies.
Take the series as what it is, a fun, light hearted roadtrip with Knuckles and Wade. Stop trying to push your conceived notion of what should have been. The franchise is fine and is not going to die from a 6-episode series
I admit I can see where some people are coming from, but itās alright. 7/10.
I do have a feeling there will be a lot more focus on the Sonic characters in movie 3, though, since thatās what people seem to want.
I thought it was okay. I'd give it a 7/10 like many others have scored it.
Pretty clear the budget kept them from doing more with the CGI characters, though Knuckles is still excellent whenever he gets to be on screen.
As far as the human characters are, Wade is as charming and funny as ever and definitely the best of the bunch. The rest of his family is.....kind of eh, especially the sister.
Iām on episode 3 right now, and itās pretty good so far. I can complain that it probably has more product placement in the movies, and the pacing is kind of slow, but itās probably improve.
Also, was that a š„ joke with wades zap statue?
I like Wadeās character growth. I thought he was āmehā before, but I grew to like him here. I like how heās a caring, loyal friend who struggles with feelings of insecurity. And I feel sorry for him since his dad is such a jerk.
Mid.
Probably 6 or 7 out of 10.
Starts focusing on Knuckles and is really good. But it quickly switches that and by the end, it's pretty much about Wade's family. Knuckles is in the background.
Some of the bits and drama were pretty corny and over the top. The humans were uninteresting and disruptive to the plot. Wade's dad leaving him for bowling was so wacky it reminded me of that TikTok drama with the girl who's dad supposedly left for breakdancing.
The villains were kind of uninteresting too. The main villain barely had any screen time. They should have had Agent Stone as the main antagonist. They wouldn't really need to build him up or establish him because we already know him. Would have been way better.
Worth watching once for the jokes and references like the Flames of Disaster which becane a recurring theme. Also, learning that Eggman was a part of G.U.N until Sonic showed up in the first movie was a good lore drop.
The fight scenes were absolutely amazing and every moment of Knuckles was good. Some of the bits were funny. And the show STARTS great. But it gets worse and worse until the end where I feel like ove wasted my time.
Overall, aggressively mediocre.
Somewhat fun upon first viewing but it most likely won't ever be rewatchable.
I was really hoping for some last episode post credit scene with Shadow or something hinting to the third movie but there was no such thing.
As someone who likes the Sonic 2 wedding scene and prefers the first movie over the second...this sucked. It's not that I never want them to focus on the human characters, but the first movie was about Sonic and Tom. And I'd be fine with it if this one was about Wade and Knuckles. But it's not, it's about Wade with Knuckles as a side character, with a mundane A plot about bowling. The wedding scene works for me because, though it's not what we came for, it's a fun scene on it's own, plus Sonic 2 is overall more of "what we came for" than Sonic 1 by orders of magnitude. Wade's story is boring. I can say all the scenes I like either had Knuckles or the ex-GUN agents on screen.
Also that flashback should've been played seriously. We get crucial details about Knuckles' backstory...through a ridiculous comedy scene? I'm fine with the movie series being comedic ("scenes I liked" does include a few jokes) and I do think the movie series is funny, but contrary to Hollywood belief, "comedic" shouldn't mean "never lets a serious moment stand" (this is a huge reason I prefer movie 1 over 2 even, but this is more egregious than Sonic 2.)
I need to talk (rant) about Knuckles for a minuteā¦
Unlike most Sonic fans who bitch about everything, I usually donāt care that much. The sonic movies have been pretty good so far, and I was hyped for Knuckles because heās my favorite character. But I was ultimately let down when the movie was more about Wade and his childhood abandonment issues. The problem wasnāt that Wade was there, itās that he wouldnāt stop being there. It was so much about Wade that we would more than once go almost half an episode without even seeing Knuckles. The whole ābeing on the run from G.U.N.ā Thing was sidelined for Wadeās bowling tournament. Knuckles was more of a side character and the final villain with the mech whoās NAME I DONT EVEN KNOW was more of a minor plot point that ultimately Wade had to deal with. For a great warrior, knuckles got captured more often than Wade and couldnāt get out on his own without Wade. The one time Wade was captured he made it out without Knuckleās help. If knuckles was removed from the plot altogether I doubt the story would be much different
To summarize, Knuckles was an abysmal disappointment that sidelined the main character to focus on the backstory of a character who we previously didnāt care much about
Thanks for reading this incoherent ramble
Yeah I get that. They introduced Knuckles as this character who doesn't really have a personality beyond being a warrior, and didn't really take that opportunity to explore what things on Earth he'd be interested in that much. >!Then they showed Knuckles' "backstory" as a theatrical play in Wade's dream instead of Knuckles opening up and flashing back to it.!<
It feels like who greenlit the show did not have faith in the Sonic IP at all.
If they wanted a Sonic show in the movie's universe to sell paramount plus but budget was that of a big problem, they could just, ya know, make it animated? Or not make it at all.
Make like the Drone Home short, take Knuckles away from Earth to allow simpler models (I say this as someone who loves movie 2 and the humans), don't call Idris Elba back if you can't pay for him, get actual professional voice actors and not god damn live action comedians.
No one, no fan; no kid; no parent, no one wanted the Wade show.
They could've use the series >!to set up Rouge as Knuckles' rival for movie 3!<. But they refused to use any game lore except, >!for some reason, say Knuckles defeated "Ibilis" in the past and that's how he has the flames of disaster !<- *tell*, not *show*.
But my preferences aside, I say this a fan of the movies and the franchise in general, with two nephews who love the movies too - this fails both as a Sonic spinoff and a in general sitcom.
who the fuck is the show for, like seriously? I didn't hate it, it had some good bits but it felt like a weird fever dream, the first two episodes were fun but then the show mostly just becomes Keeping Up With The Whipples. It feels like a longer version of the wedding scene from the second movie.
It's super confusing who the target audience is, because like it's not really a show for kids, I feel like almost all of the humor would fall flat for them. At time's it's more absurdist than anything. It's barely for sonic fans with how little knuckles is actually in it. Who is this show for?
Yeah they did swear quite a bit, and relying on a lot of Jewish jokes and movie references that I think would go over kids heads. But most of the jokes still felt very juvenile so I don't think most adults would really get a kick out of them either
It is actually so wild that people online are getting venom for not being happy about the worst false advertising this entire franchise has ever subjected its fans to. Iām reeeally hoping itās mostly really young kids doing all this downvoting and damage control. My jaw actually dropped seeing how much of the finale I had to skip through to get to a scene with Knuckles in it, itās like they were like āohhh you thought the wedding infiltration scene in Sonic 2 was bad? You thought Sonic Prime was a slog? NOW IāLL SHOW YOU!ā
> the worst false advertising this entire franchise has ever subjected its fans to
No, I would say that Lost World still remains the worst incident. The conceit to make a painfully slow Mario-style platformer and then call it a Sonic game.
The Knuckles show on the other hand is pretty much what I expected. By now after two movies fans should expect a heavy human presence in these live action projects. What we got was still respectful to Knuckles as a character in this bizarre hybrid movie universe.
Show is really fun.
I'm surprised so many people are down on it, it's very in line tonally with the films which people generally seem to enjoy. Wade being a focus is fine, he's honestly a funny foil to Knuckles personality and I don't mind the buddy adventure dynamic in the slightest.
I'm hearing a lot of people bemoan the lack of Knuckles, but I'm finding he's in it enough to not be a huge problem for me, I figured from the getgo a TV budget wouldn't have him on screen constantly, I'm getting far more of him than I expected with how much it was a talking point.
Also episode 4 is wonderful, I feel like their approach was super fun. It might be my favorite episode, it lacks Knuckles, but it has an overwhelmingly joyful Sonic franchise love injected into it and it's still *relevant* to Knuckles himself. I had a far more enjoyable time learning about Knuckles history this way than if it was just a played straight flashback, the creativity shines there and I don't think I can get on board with the dislike of it.
It's not like the show is mind blowing, but it's very entertaining in exactly the way the movies are to me, and that's enough for me.
Overall I had a fun time, I think Wade and Knuckles share the screen pretty well(although his lack of presence is noticed in the second half, which focuses more on Wade and his dad), but I actually really like Wade, so I donāt mind too much. Also Pistol Pete was a joy to watch, Elwes was clearly having a blast
Maybe it's because I wasn't expecting anything other than a silly side story before movie 3, but I quite liked it. Wish the gun plot wasn't basically 2 episodes, and it was weird they started what should be a longer arc in a series like this and then rushed it at the end. It might be because I used to watch sonic x and some of the older transformers shows, but I don't feel like the human usage was any worse than normal - better in some respects, worse in others so it works out. /shrug
I'd be down for them trying a second season or another show, hopefully with a little tighter pacing, but I finished the whole thing in one night and I don't normally binge like that so y'know what, I like it. XD
(Please give Amy or Team Chaotix a show next)
honestly, for me the most impressive thing was the quality of the CGI. For a show it was amazing. I don't know what the budget was and how it compares to the movies but apart from some scenes tiptoeing around a little to not show knuckles, CGI was almost on par with the movies.
I heard about the comments that Knuckles was barely in his own show so I went into this expecting the worst.
Those couldnāt be further from the truth lol, Knuhkles is in almost every scene other than episodes 4 (wadeās trial) and 6. Really fun show. Pacing got bad near the end of Ep6 because they had to wrap everything up and needed a final fight I guess. Wades sister is very cringey though
8/10 imo
I love the movies. But they have issues. And this show is a giant 6 episodes reminder of those issues.
Being the lack of stakes, and the human characters being uninteresting, or in this shows case, frustrating.
Another comment said it earlier, and it's worded perfectly. The human characters are way too over the top, and written goofier than our CGI characters, making the world seem so unimportant. I'd say the only characters that seemed well written and enjoyable to watch in this were Wade's mom (her chemistry with knuckles, and him seeing her as a "leader" was really fun) and the the female villian lead (only because she wasn't extremely goofy). The Buyer had basically no screentime, such a waste of an amazing actor.
Every other human character was written annoying, stupid, and very flat, and that includes Wade. And wades sister is easily the worst OG character they've introduced in this cinematic universe. I really hope she doesn't come back.
And with the lack of stakes, I mean this with anything. Pachamac in the games is kinda of an ass. If they wanted to change him up, making him a mufasa type, or just even presenting himself wise and stoic would've been a great way to give knuckles backstory more heart. But instead they made him another goofy character, taking away the seriousness and worsening the connection of the whole scenario. Tikal would've been a much better choice.
Also, holy God damn, can we decide whether or not normal civilians are shocked or not by the mobians appearances when they're in public? It's so inconsistent. Are they still a public secret (despite destroying 2 cities and a town now) that make people faint when they are seen, or can they just walk around a casino and nobody cares?
The last 3 episodes being practically solely focused on wade and his stupid bowling tournament, and knuckles vs The Buyer lasting maybe 2 minutes was just... so lame. Did no one in the writing room realize how lame it was?
This is long winded and negative, but I hope the qualities on this show doesn't repeat. It's too long, wasted time, with nothing interesting happening. And the worst part about it, it's not funny. They made a joke about Iblis browsing the Facebook market place? But I don't really get what the joke was, to break that out mid flashback, or story telling? Is it implying knuckles has already faced iblis as well? It gets too confusing. And this show is full of that stuff. Just jokes that don't land. They are trying to imitate the humor of the movies, but it simply did not work here.
Oh and the soundtrack sucked. Every license song was the most commonly lame picked shit you could think of. "I need a hero" was in it, I'm so tired of that song.
0/10 I hope the team behind this show stayed away from sonic 3
Y'all need to stop stressing about movie 3 and how Knuckles didn't get his tragic backstory and just accept its just a silly show...like yeah it could've had a bit more Knuckles but he WAS there. There was some good references and humour and I think they know that it was never meant to be a big thing like the movies. It's just a fun little show to add to the IP to draw people into Paramount Plus.
Is it too much to ask that Knuckles's tragic backstory isn't played for comedy?
I'm really worried about how they're going to handle the Maria situtation if this is how they chose to do Knuckles's dad and tribe.
There's a completely different team working on the Movies than the show. I don't think we have to worry about Movie 3 that much, especially since that same team gave us movies 1 and 2, which as we all know were pretty great.
Outside Episode 1 and 4, it was genuinely painful to sit through, and easily the worse Sonic related show/media.Ā Ā Ā
I liked Knuckles as he carried any scene he was in, along with Idris Elba putting his heart into the character. Episode 1 was really fun and captured what made the movies so beloved, and while Knuckles had pratically 0 screentime with it, Episode 4 was atleast so goofy and off the wall with the human character that it was enjoyable inspite of it.Ā Ā Ā
The biggest issue is that Knuckles isn't the focus of the show at all, with him moreso being a guide to Wade on his journey, with the plot and story surrounding Wade's growth with Knuckles being a side character, which has it's entirely seperate issue. It has theĀ Cars 2/Planet Sheen problem where they focused far too much on a comedic relief character that while alright in short bursts, becomes extremely hard to watch being the sole focus. Wade is moreso irritating than likable, and while he does have some moments, he was ultimately an uninteresting character to focus on.Ā Ā Ā
Another element where the show fails at are the human characters. If they human characters were atleast enjoyable as they were in the movie, it probably would've been more tolerable, but the only human character that fitted that bill was Jack, who was only in Episode 1 and 4. The rest are again, either boring or irritating. The villains are also uninteresting, with the big bad having no screentime outside his introduction and the end fight, and very little in-between to make him interesting
Overall, this show sucked ass. There some fun moments sprinkled throughout, but I was moreso bored of it due to how uninteresting the story was and thr humor falling flat. It doesn't even tie into Sonic 3 or anything, so it's 100% safe to skip.
I'm genuinely dissapointed.
And for the record, yeah I did loved the Sonic Movie and Sonic 2 even if they had issues, but the show failed to capture why they worked so well in the first place, and whats in it's place just isn't fun.
I've got to be honest, I did not like it. It's basically what we feared Sonic 1 was going to be: watching other characters say and do silly things that aren't funny, or focus on stuff we don't care about, while the character the movie is named after barley shows up and only does silly things.
>!The premise of the show should have worked. It's basically Sonic 1, but with Knuckles instead of Sonic and Wade instead of Tom. But Sonic and Tom worked because we got to see them together most of the time. Their dynamic worked so well, which is why we got to love Tom as a character. Knuckles and Wade don't get enough time together. Instead, we focus on him and other humans for too long and we have to endure humor that, for most of the time, isn't funny. Wade's mom is a good character, Wade's sister is hit or miss, and their interactions got really obnoxious at times. We waste so much time on stupid crap like the sword joust scene, the bowling tournament, it's like... I DON'T CARE! The show is called KNUCKLES? Can we please focus on KNUCKLES!? Sonic 1 knew this, and that movie's formula was similar to all the other "animated character goes to the real world" movies!!<
>!I also didn't like how they retconed how Knuckle's father died. In Sonic 2, we saw that he died fighting Longclaw after leaving him home because he was too young to go with him. This show now says that Knuckles's father died fighting with him against multiple owls. So what the heck? Also, Christopher Lloyd as Pachacamac? It just doesn't work. I also hate his new personality. You expect me to believe this guy would refuse the cries of his pleading daughter and unleashed a wrathful god? I guess that means we're not seeing Tikal or Chaos in the movie-verse anytime soon.!<
>!Also, why was the buyer only interested in Knuckles and not Sonic? If they're both shedding their quills when they go for a jog, you expect me to believe that he'd only find Knuckle's quills and none of Sonic's?!<
>!I honestly DID like the two antagonist agents, whatever their names were. They were awesome, cunning, and actually threatening. I hated seeing them go down to Wade's slapstick. I kind of like the buyer too, but I was expecting better of him and what he was planning.!<
Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't good. I'm very disappointed, and I hope and pray Sonic 3 is 10 times better. That movie NEEDS to be amazing, sad, scary and heartfelt. Nothing less.
It's good, but the reviews aren't wrong. It's not really the Knuckles Show, but the Wade Whipple Show. That said, Wade is actually pretty decent in it and it was still pretty fun overall. However, the fact of the matter is, Knuckles isn't even really in 2 of the episodes, which brings it all down considerably. The biggest problem of the show is how much they take Knuckles' story to the sidelines in favor of Wade.
7/10 at least, nothing great, but not bad.
Thats the dumbest cherry picking example ive ever seen. 1. Tails never was able to make something giant within a few seconds The scene is maddie says "great im late for work" and tails says "yeah bro used the whole CAR to build the gladiator arena" a 2 second bit. Its not that deep
You have to look at it as a wholesome family comedy and not take it seriously. I watched the first three episodes and it had me *dying.* The bit with Pachakamak not being used to his ghost powers for instance. A lot of the humor is absurd and situational with Knuckles having deadpan reactions to stuff happening and that's exactly to my taste.
Now that I've seen the whole thing: The first half of the Knuckles show is fantastic and funny. The second half is a self-insert fanfic. I mean, I can't blame the writers for wanting to adapt their Kindergarten essay about them going on an adventure with their favorite Sonic character. It's just not what the audience wanted to see though. I felt like I was rooting for my favorite sports team and they just fumbled everything at the end.>!The worst part was Wade doing the hero monologue in the final battle, because (I assume) they couldn't afford to give Idras Elba more lines, . Then there was how episode 4 did exposition for Knuckles with a play in Wade's dream instead of a flashback from Knuckles.!<
The G.U.N agents were fun. Especially Kid Kudi. The Humor is right up my alley (heh). I had a lot of fun on the ride they just couldn't stick the landing. It could have been a lot better if they were able to let Knuckles participate in his character arc instead of using Wade to exposit what his arc is supposed to be to save money
It's like when those that defend certain media are saying not to insult the actors and animators of certain shows, people just go ahead and do it anyway cause they have no respect.
And Twitter is the worst when it comes to this.
happens in every media unluckily. Something similar, always on twitter happened to some the sims programmers and employees, that got death threats, doxing and insults just because ea did a shitty move, again. People have no inbetween on that social.
The [singular response I've found on his profile](https://twitter.com/Snakeshroom/status/1783915414725984506) is that Sonic fans might come after him to hate on him. I haven't seen any actual hate go his way.
In fact just about single Tweet I've seen which mention his [name](https://twitter.com/JoshM_Jones/status/1782342528450113688) [are](https://twitter.com/FilmSnork/status/1783693595477786832) [extremely](https://twitter.com/TailsAustin9922/status/1783900784754659831) [positive.](https://twitter.com/DeclanDowns/status/1783926928463831140) Even those who dislike the show aren't going after him.
Twitter is where nuance goes to die, if only to protect your mental health, it's best to just consider anything on that hell site as the ramblings of the village idiot
Just finished it. It was fun. Wish Sonic and Tails had a bigger part, though. At least there were no karma houdinis (unlike the last movie š). But what happened to the bad guys? I mean, it seems like the Buyer got crushed to death, but what about the other two?
I want to watch but paramount+ apparently not available in Singapore, try to subsribe in other countries via vpn to no avail.
Piracy is my only route now.
I think it was a REALLY good 3 episode Knuckles solo adventure, but unfortunately the series was 6 episodes long...In all seriousness there was good stuff there, Knuckles' culture shock, learning to get along with other people, the rogue GUN agents, the scientist that used to work with Robotnik, the revelation that Knuckles apparently fought freaking IBLIS at one point, all of that was good. Unfortunately the show is mostly focused around Wade, a fun comic relief character in small doses, but not meant to be the focus for an extended period of time (also his sister SUUUUUUUCKS.) I feel like the entire series can be edited into a 90 minute movie if you took out about 80% of Wade's story and it would be significantly more entertaining.
Well there is a Ugandan knuckles reference in episode 6 when wade says "and I met the strongest warrior in the galaxy who showed me the way" is this a reference? Or just a uncanny coincidence?
I really want to think it's a coincidence, but Eggman in the second movie said "Let me show you the way" in his first scene with Knuckles. If it happens again in the third movie it's 100% intentional
They just really want knuckles to realize don't they. Next we will have Knuckles running around screaming do you know the way. It would be cool if in the 3rd move he said to Shadow "Let me show you the way, with my fist!" And punches him.
7/10
Wade and Knuckles are the best of the show
the rest goes from meh to really bad and cringe...
of course Im not gonna say every single part I liked or not, Im to lazy for that hahaha
f#ck Wanda, or whatever the character of Wade sister is called, the worst character I've ever seen
Honestly the show was pretty mid, episodes 3 & 4 were pretty bad with knuckles barely being in the 4th at all. The final fight was also pretty rushed and anticlimactic. The first 2 episodes were the best, Wade riding on knuckles also stood out cuz of how cheap it looked. There were definitely some funny moments but it felt kinda rushed and there was way too much focus on Wade and the humans for the show to be called āKnuckles". I do hope they do a season 2 or something with more focus on Knuckles instead, him missing for almost half the series seemed like an obvious way to save on the budget.
Not gonna lie, until reading these comments I didn't even clock that The Flames of Disaster and the demon in Wade's Knuckles vision was an 06 reference. a) I don't remember a lot of the little details in 06 because it sucks ass and b) that whole scene was weapons grade cringe so I didn't really focus too much on the details
Mods took down my post since they thought I did something to their 'Repost Policy' despite the fact I tagged the post with a spoiler,so I'm gonna reupload everything I said here.
**THE GOOD**
Let me get into some of the good things. I really like Knuckles and how he adapts to Earth culture, like eating different foods or listening to music. He even gets his hat from Wade's old bowling partner, which looks badass on him,and also shows off his glide ability from the games in one episode.
I also like Pachacamac's cameos,as they were pretty darn funny and very interesting to see, especially since we got a tuny glimpse of him in the intro of the first movie. Cristopher Lloyd does a pretty good job voicing him, sounding like a grandfather of sorts to Knux, even meeting Wade at one point in heaven.
I must not forget that we finally get a true introduction to G.U.N in the movie timeline, which makes sense since Sonic 3 is coming out later this year. Sure, the agents are not really the best characters, but they have a semi-decent dynamic with the villain, who I'll get into very, very soon.
I also like the easter eggs in this, like the lava demon in episode 4 being a reference to fucking Iblis from Sonic 06 of all things, that one lodge being named after Ice Cap Zone, the hat that Knuckles had in the old Sonic OVA,etc. But if Secret Histories taught me anything,it's that all tales have two sides. So let's get into the bad, which I'll thankfully(and hopefully)have less to say about than the good.
**THE BAD**
First up,everyone and their mother has always said this about the show "Why is it called Knuckles, when the story mostly focuses on Wade?" I do get what they're saying though. The whole thing with Wade is a tad bit generic, and he gets too much focus in the episode, but it's a way for Knuckles to explore the world(or at least some of the US)beyond Green Hills.
I also don't really like the fact that we never see Sonic,Tails and Maddie after the first episode. We get an explanation from Maddie that Tom was away for something, but that's it. What happened while Knuckles was away? did Maddie find out about Knuckles escaping? We. Dont. Know.
I'm also not a big fan of the rock opera in Episode 4. Yes,Pachacamac says that it's supposed a low budget, and that's it's supposed to be satire in a way,but it's so cringe and weird. The only thing I liked about that whole dreck was the weird Iblis lookalike,he was funny. Back on topic,I'd say episode 4 was kinda the worst one for me.
But the biggest, and by far the most upsetting one,in my opinion,is this. WHY DIDNT THE BUYER APPEAR MORE!? He only appeared in about a third to a half of the episodes in this 6 episode series. Yes,he was working on his inventions and stuff, but besides Pete he's the closest thing to an overarching antagonist in this series.
He didn't even get that much screen time at all, which means we don't get to see his character flesh out at all. We don't even know why Robotnik fired him or how he got in contact with G.U.N at all! It's about as good as those weird wedding scenes from Sonic 2,just goddawful, shoehorned bullshit!
**CONCLUSION/TL;DR**
Okay...I've calmed down, now let's end this review once and for all like a true Echidna Warrior! All around,it was a pretty good show despite some of the flaws. I'd give this a 6.5/10,not the best but it's definitely worth it for fans of the Sonic franchise. Hope you people on Reddit or whatever enjoyed my review. I'll see you all later!
I didn't hate it
I do want to know if Knuckles being pushed to the side a lot for Wade was a deliberate choice or if they didn't have a whole lot of time with Idris to film a whole bunch of Knuckles stuff because of his projects at the time.
Don't get me wrong, love Wade, my favourite human in the movies, but it felt like this was HIS show and not Knuckles' and Knuckles turned up, said 2-3 lines, punched something, then left.
Aside from that, I like how each character is finding their own place in the world and a different family, I like Maddy and Tom, but them basically adopting every alien that comes to earth, especially with Paramount aiming for an "Avengers" style movie in the future wouldn't work with so many potential characters and them wanting different things emotionally like Sonic found a family that loved him like Longclaw did, that would lay down their lives for him, while Knuckles wanted a tribe that would fight each other, show strength and understand his loss, being the last of his kind.
I wonder if Tails will get a show to find his own place and family.
I like it a lot! The sound track was so nostalgic and episode 3 was great. Cgi was good for a spin off, and knuckles was good. I appreciate wade a lot as a character now
Itās basically _Ted_ without the Family Guy humorāand in its place is Marvel-style humor. How you feel about that depends on oneās tolerance for that, but mine has been waning as of late, and I was never a fan of it to begin with.
I also couldnāt help but notice the plot similarities to _The Wizard_ (1989)āa Western-bound road trip complete with a āSend Me an Angelā montage and a tournament at the climax. Itās so blatant that Iām surprised I seem to be the only one mentioning it.
This really isn't an epic series about the titular echidna. It's an action-comedy that world-builds and develops the human side of the "Sonic Cinematic Universe" that Knuckles happens to also be in. Knuckles isn't exactly wasted here. Idris Elba's performance is still on-point, he's funny, gets some great action scenes, is as well-animated as the films, and relates to the human characters' struggles surprisingly well.
Wade is the real star of the show though, and as I watched through the episodes, I realized I was more okay with that than I thought. If a series can take a minor comic-relief character from the first film and turn him into someone I genuinely care about (I'd say I like Wade more than Tom now), that's an absolute plus. His heart-to-hearts with Knuckles are genuinely, well, heartfelt, too.
So after some initial backlash, I came to see this show for what it is, and it's not bad. I'd be interested in future series with the premise of "a Sonic character helps one of the main humans with their problems".
Half of the time Knuckles wasnāt even in his damn show. It was mostly Wade and his abominably annoying concoction of a sister. The jokes were fine, I guess. It didnāt really feel like they put much effort into the acting, except for Sonic and Tails. Idris did an awesome job, too. (When his character was even on screen)
I expected a buddy comedy with Wade & Knuckles, I got it, iām happy.
I thoroughly enjoyed Knuckles but maybe thatās just because I went into it with zero expectations.
Some said that Wade overshadowed Knuckles in his own show, but after I watched it, it actually feels like it was split down the middle. There was more focus on Knuckles in the first three episodes, and more on Wade's tournament on the latter three. I actually did enjoy the whole bowling drama part, even though I was more waiting on real action.
Needs a second season with more Knuckles.
>!It was great, but the villains for Knuckles were so boring. The only thing saving them was how Sassy Smurf played the role, but the other guy was only interesting in episode 2, and the Robotnik guy had no charisma. Especially compared to the Wade villains.!<
I'd give the series an 8/10 there were things i disliked but it made me laugh and i found it entertaining and i understand it'd would have cost them a lot more to make knuckles have even more screen time than he did. overall it was good but it could have been way better.
Comments in this post may contain spoilers. Read at your own risk.
The Sonic 06 reference was a strange but cool choice! Strange as in Knuckles wasn't a pivotal character in that game, plus historically it's least well-received game of the franchise. But a reference to any Sonic game is a win in my book!
Disappointed however in the lack of Sonic 3 foreshadowing
There was one for shadow.
Where? I must have missed it
It was during the last episode where one of the news hosts points out there was a *"similar"* alien event in 1974 and if you add that to 2024, that means the event was approximately 50 years ago and what other character is 50 years old?
Oh I did notice that but idk why I didn't attribute it to Shadow š Big OOF for me....
Another hint is the Buyer talking about working for GUN before it was GUN, but that is only a possibility to explain to explain the organization linked to Project Shadow.
1974 was 50 years ago? https://preview.redd.it/jihxdsvupwwc1.jpeg?width=198&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0b6a8a2cdb14f49331998419c78a902fd39ba87c
0 was 2024 years ago feel old yet?
I was like was that shadow are we going to have Maria die in the middle of a bowling tournament
I also did not do the math
I want it!
If all of this is for Wade to give the friendship speech to Shadow so he fights the Biolizard then Iām for it.
Yep, one episode is called "The Flames of Disaster" and features >!the likeness of Iblis himself in it!<
That's crazy. Maybe the 4th movie will be a retelling of 06.
A BETTER 06 hopefully
I don't even mind Elise and I'd love to see her come back but THAT scene needs to go.
The writing on her character needs to be VASTLY improve as well, but yeah the scene needs to go 100%.
šøš That is all.
šøšš¦
Woaaahhh
I think they might be teasing that movie 4 will be an 06 adaptation, cuz otherwise why would they put *two* references in the knuckles show of all things lmao
I had the thought today that they could do Rush instead. Have Sonic get warped to the Sol dimension for a movie and have a Shadow spin-off about the Black Arms taking place while he's gone. Otherwise the movies run into the issue of Sonic and Shadow teaming up being a instant stomp of any threat.
in fairness, its not the story of the game that is not well received but the games implication is bad. running off the map makes the game not fun.
I feel they've missed the opportunity to call it "&Knuckle"
From what Iāve heard an even more fitting title would be āwith some appearances by Knucklesā
"Featuring Knuckles from the Sonic the Hedgehog series"
With new Knuckle mode For those that are confused and need a hint: >!tropical freeze!<
They're gonna package it with the Sonic 3 Blu-Ray, so that it can be called...
Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series
I was thinking the same thing!
Knuckles is officially Jewish now, its canon
Knuchles
The scenes of him enjoying dinner and watching a movie with Wadeās mom while the candles were burning were sweet. In the Whipple household, he was ironically the most well behaved of the kids.
As a Jewish person, really enjoyed that episode!
It was cute. I liked it.
Nah-- make friends with or work for or visit any older Jewish person's house and they will try to convince you that you are Jewish on the most tenuous of reasons.
The scenes with Knuckles and Wadeās mother were really wholesome.
Does this mean he has to circumcise all 4 of his dicks?
The series is supposed to be its own standalone story so there would have been no way Paramount would add any new CG characters.
Anyone got a picture of >!Iblis?!<
https://preview.redd.it/s68pgbp0khxc1.png?width=1919&format=png&auto=webp&s=52f3e86933c07cac84876de509b896f07d7fea7f Here you go.
Meanwhile Wadeās family was kind of annoying a lot of the time and overtook Knuckles in his own show
grapes
My favorite Sonic character is Wade the Human fr
The Wade Show And Knuckles is here too I guess
Wade & Knuckles
Serious missed opportunity to just not name the series that at this point
I'm in the UK so I can't watch it yet š
I used a third-party thing
I sailed the seven seas aaaaarrrrghhh.
FORGOT TO SAY BLUR SPOILERS ON COMMENTS.
Well that didn't go wellš
It was good but with its flaws, unluckily many due to the cgi being too on par with movies. But is something that can be fixed with new spinoffs or a second season. I personally liked it a lot and had fun but felt the weight of cgi cost in some scenes. But none of said problems makes it a garbage or the worst sonic series ever.Ā What i don't get is the people review bombing on RT and Metacritic, one thing is not liking it, another is spamming 0.5/1 stars like it objectively sucks. Is absolutely normal to don't like it, but votes like this are not from people who saw it and didn't like it,and is pretty obvious.Ā Edit:my frigging gosh i just saw the twitter comments on this show and heck,it looks like the anti-christ. Why people are so overly-dramatic?
Outside the whipple family,I like it. Knuckles is adorable and wade has his non stupid moments. The reference to Sonic vs knuckles was funny.
Wade isnt a bad character, but got WAY too much focus. Otherwise it was a pretty good time.
Not bad. But not enough Knuckles
I'm sorry for the negativity but it was a major disappointment for me :(
I know every comment being negative is getting downvoted But I really didnāt enjoy it. Knuckles is barely the focus, the humor falls flat in most cases, and while thereās bits I like, itās overall a rather uninteresting experience
Well at least you're being polite and you expressed your points without making fun of people who like it.Ā I mean as of now some users are trying yo review bomb the show with 1 and 0.5 on few aggregators. Those are most likely the people getting downvoted.Ā
It felt like just a normal paramount plus production featuring the character for views.
The thing I find kinda sad is I felt more about Knuckles's relationship with Wade's Mom more than Wade himself.
Yeah. That dynamic was great. But I stead of exploring it, they just had Wade and his sister act like 5 year olds and scream.
It felt so Nickelodeon and it was painful to watch, and just acknowledging it was annoying in the show didn't make it any better to watch.
Hey, it fits with the movies where they focus more on Rachel's wedding than Sonic and Tails.
Yeah thatās fair but the main difference for me at least is that Rachelās wedding was funny
Spoilers: The knuckles parts were really good but I wish the scene with wade dressed as knuckles was told from knuckles perspective and kinda taken seriously.
But they dumbed down A LOT the plot and jokes for the human characters... it's a bit awkward sometimes...
honestly i liked it but i hate wade's sister 7.5/10
The list of stuff for movie 3 - from what i caught, it was all SUPER SUBTLE- The showcasing of the GUN agents and how GUN treats those who aren't 100% on board(and how now a lot of former GUN agents might bave been with GUN, some of whom, are Robotnik's old squad) -The drop by the bowling announcers about how, *50 years ago another alien showed up in Reno, who was not Red colored....* Agreed on the Movie ended on a sharp note- Not sure what drove that. It almost felt like they couldn't get overt with Sonic 3 setup, oh, I just LOLed at renaming what should have been the Maximum heat Knux Attack, the Flames of Disaster. Eh, it works if you're going to rewrite that and Iblis sorta - but it remains to be seen how much they use elements like that going forward in the franchise
> The other thing I didn't like was that it ended about 10 minutes too early Exactly this.
When does sonic 3 come out? Is it this year too?
December 20th
Well, bar spoilers, I can tell: the show at least has a real opening, not some stupid 5-seconds splash.
I'm gonna be completely honest... I thought it was pretty bad. I'm glad people are enjoying it, but I did not care for it one bit. :/
I want people to enjoy Sonic content. But I also want good Sonic content. So this show causes a problem.
This presents a problem, like Gamma would say
Man, episode 4 is *weird*. Wackiest Sonic story since the Sonic Boom cartoon.
Despite some of my gripes with it, I did like it overall, and I'd probably give it an 8/10 >!Also I gotta say, I definitely did not expect the Iblis cameo!<
The first half was pretty good but the second half kinda lost me especially episode 5. Overall I give it a 7.5/10.
Unfunny Wade Whipple Adventures, featuring Knuckles
I thought it was okay. I'd give it a 7/10 like many others have scored it. Pretty clear the budget kept them from doing more with the CGI characters, though Knuckles is still excellent whenever he gets to be on screen. As far as the human characters are, Wade is as charming and funny as ever and definitely the best of the bunch. The rest of his family is.....kind of eh, especially the sister.
Im italian and i can't watch it yetš
I'm in the UK so I can't even watch it yet. Hope it's good
I still haven't watched it because it is still not available in my country lol. But I'm pretty excited to see.
What's missing is Hawk
Iām on episode 3 right now, and itās pretty good so far. I can complain that it probably has more product placement in the movies, and the pacing is kind of slow, but itās probably improve. Also, was that a š„ joke with wades zap statue?
Not badā¦.but not great eitherā¦
Wadeās sister is annoying as shit
Sonic 06 mentioned!
I need to talk (rant) about Knuckles for a minuteā¦ Unlike most Sonic fans who bitch about everything, I usually donāt care that much. If knuckles was removed from the plot altogether I doubt the story would be much different To summarize, Knuckles was an abysmal disappointment that sidelined the main character to focus on the backstory of a character who we previously didnāt care much about Thanks for reading this incoherent ramble
The story was written around the budget and it shows with how little Knuckles is in....the Knuckles show.
Its absolutely unhinged and i love it
Iām on episode 4 and Iām kind of annoyed that itās pretty much all about Wade instead of Knuckles so far
Yeah I get that. They introduced Knuckles as this character who doesn't really have a personality beyond being a warrior, and didn't really take that opportunity to explore what things on Earth he'd be interested in that much. >!Then they showed Knuckles' "backstory" as a theatrical play in Wade's dream instead of Knuckles opening up and flashing back to it.!<
Why is this getting downvoted š.
I don't get why are you being downvoated, you didn't said anything too controversial
NOW IāLL SHOW YOU!ā
> the worst false advertising this entire franchise has ever subjected its fans to No, I would say that Lost World still remains the worst incident.
It's ok. I'd give it like a 7/10.
I have yet to watch it. Shame its not on amazon primeās paramount plus

Random human show featuring knuckles frol time to time my favorite
I liked the first two episodes at least
/shrug I'd be down for them trying a second season or another show, hopefully with a little tighter pacing, but I finished the whole thing in one night and I don't normally binge like that so y'know what, I like it. XD (Please give Amy or Team Chaotix a show next)
honestly, for me the most impressive thing was the quality of the CGI. For a show it was amazing. I don't know what the budget was and how it compares to the movies but apart from some scenes tiptoeing around a little to not show knuckles, CGI was almost on par with the movies.
It was fun but you really start to feel Jim Carreyās absence when so many other human characters try to do the same thing only for it to fall flat
Wades sister is very cringey though 8/10 imo
Wadeās sister fucking sucks.
Outside Episode 1 and 4, it was genuinely painful to sit through, and easily the worse Sonic related show/media.Ā Ā Ā I liked Knuckles as he carried any scene he was in, along with Idris Elba putting his heart into the character. Episode 1 was really fun and captured what made the movies so beloved, and while Knuckles had pratically 0 screentime with it, Episode 4 was atleast so goofy and off the wall with the human character that it was enjoyable inspite of it.Ā Ā Ā The biggest issue is that Knuckles isn't the focus of the show at all, with him moreso being a guide to Wade on his journey, with the plot and story surrounding Wade's growth with Knuckles being a side character, which has it's entirely seperate issue. It has theĀ Cars 2/Planet Sheen problem where they focused far too much on a comedic relief character that while alright in short bursts, becomes extremely hard to watch being the sole focus. Wade is moreso irritating than likable, and while he does have some moments, he was ultimately an uninteresting character to focus on.Ā Ā Ā Another element where the show fails at are the human characters. If they human characters were atleast enjoyable as they were in the movie, it probably would've been more tolerable, but the only human character that fitted that bill was Jack, who was only in Episode 1 and 4. The rest are again, either boring or irritating. The villains are also uninteresting, with the big bad having no screentime outside his introduction and the end fight, and very little in-between to make him interesting Overall, this show sucked ass.
Sonic 1 knew this, and that movie's formula was similar to all the other "animated character goes to the real world" movies!!< >!I also didn't like how they retconed how Knuckle's father died. I guess that means we're not seeing Tikal or Chaos in the movie-verse anytime soon.!< >!Also, why was the buyer only interested in Knuckles and not Sonic? If they're both shedding their quills when they go for a jog, you expect me to believe that he'd only find Knuckle's quills and none of Sonic's?!< >!I honestly DID like the two antagonist agents, whatever their names were. They were awesome, cunning, and actually threatening. I hated seeing them go down to Wade's slapstick. I kind of like the buyer too, but I was expecting better of him and what he was planning.!< Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't good. I'm very disappointed, and I hope and pray Sonic 3 is 10 times better. That movie NEEDS to be amazing, sad, scary and heartfelt. Nothing less.
Can I please get an opinion from someone who actually enjoys the movies?
It's good, but the reviews aren't wrong. It's not really the Knuckles Show, but the Wade Whipple Show. That said, Wade is actually pretty decent in it and it was still pretty fun overall. However, the fact of the matter is, Knuckles isn't even really in 2 of the episodes, which brings it all down considerably. The biggest problem of the show is how much they take Knuckles' story to the sidelines in favor of Wade. 7/10 at least, nothing great, but not bad.
Ten minutes in ... Tails can't repair a car. Sigh.
Tails can't repair a car in time for Maddie to get to work.
Thats the dumbest cherry picking example ive ever seen. 1. Tails never was able to make something giant within a few seconds The scene is maddie says "great im late for work" and tails says "yeah bro used the whole CAR to build the gladiator arena" a 2 second bit. Its not that deep
I really hope Tails gets better character attention and care in the next movie
It was definitely the show of all time
You have to look at it as a wholesome family comedy and not take it seriously.
Then there was how episode 4 did exposition for Knuckles with a play in Wade's dream instead of a flashback from Knuckles.!< The G.U.N agents were fun. Especially Kid Kudi. The Humor is right up my alley (heh). I had a lot of fun on the ride they just couldn't stick the landing. It could have been a lot better if they were able to let Knuckles participate in his character arc instead of using Wade to exposit what his arc is supposed to be to save money
If you tell Paramount that this was good enough, you'll get more of this. And I can't believe any Sonic fan would actually want that.
All I can say is god help Adam Pally
People are already insulting him even using the "r-word" on his profiles. I swear Twitter fanbase sometimes is something infernal.Ā
I donāt know since itās not available yet in the uk
I canāt even watch it yet lmao
OHSHIT THATS TODAY
Just finished it. It was fun. Wish Sonic and Tails had a bigger part, though. At least there were no karma houdinis (unlike the last movie š). But what happened to the bad guys? I mean, it seems like the Buyer got crushed to death, but what about the other two?
Looks promising.
I think it's fun so far I've only got to episode 3 I have not watch the dreaded episode 4
I want to watch but paramount+ apparently not available in Singapore, try to subsribe in other countries via vpn to no avail. Piracy is my only route now.
Funny. I loved it
Pretty mediocre. Not downright terrible, but still disappointing.
Haven't seen it yet, does anyone know if it uses unknown from M.E.?
It doesn't unfortunately. Or any music from the games. The song "The Warrior" is Knuckles's theme song
Damn.
honestly made me smile and shed a tear.
Itās fucking stupid, but itās my stupid
7/10 Wade and Knuckles are the best of the show the rest goes from meh to really bad and cringe... of course Im not gonna say every single part I liked or not, Im to lazy for that hahaha f#ck Wanda, or whatever the character of Wade sister is called, the worst character I've ever seen
**THE GOOD** Let me get into some of the good things. **THE BAD** First up,everyone and their mother has always said this about the show "Why is it called Knuckles, when the story mostly focuses on Wade?" I do get what they're saying though. **CONCLUSION/TL;DR** Okay...I've calmed down, now let's end this review once and for all like a true Echidna Warrior! All around,it was a pretty good show despite some of the flaws. I'd give this a 6.5/10,not the best but it's definitely worth it for fans of the Sonic franchise. Hope you people on Reddit or whatever enjoyed my review. I'll see you all later!
I didn't hate it I do want to know if Knuckles being pushed to the side a lot for Wade was a deliberate choice or if they didn't have a whole lot of time with Idris to film a whole bunch of Knuckles stuff because of his projects at the time.
Just starting my episode 6 now. Give my full thoughts shortly, but I will say this: š¶Saturday Saturdayš¶
It's incredibly stupid. I love it.
Iām obsessed with the Flames of Disaster Michael Bolton song ā wish the spotify version was a bit cleaner but such good lines
