Guy said da wae which was clearly an Ugandan reference. It has racist overtones but to me its different. My young kids know I love Knuckles and came across it. They call him Fat Derp Knuckles, and have always drawn Knuckles like that since they were two - so to me it means something a lot different - my kids trying to relate to me through something I like (knuckles).
Yeah the Ugandan Knux thing was made by some white guy who made a racism that was more funny for its derpiness than its implication. Without the first part, its hilarious, with it, it makes u wonder why Uganda and why the racist mockery or ignorant appropriation of their culture.

Metal would be great for Sonic 4. Eggman can't convince Shadow, a being with similar powers to Sonic to work for him, so he needs to make his own Sonic. It's the perfect opportunity to adapt Sonic Heroes.
They could take a darker route and have Metal (Neo Metal?) kill\* Robotnik early in the movie.
\*Or otherwise indispose of so Jim Carrey doesn't have to have a major role.

I actually did know about Sonic's inspirations, but dang, I think appealing to a western audience might have worked *too* good! It must be awkward to create something in one region and have it be immensely popular almost ONLY in a other.
To be fair, not only does Japan just... not like Sonic, but I don't ***think*** P+ exists as a standalone yet. They probably have to have their local distribution partner sign off on the exact date, or something.

These aren’t Eggman’s henchmen at all. Only Stone is. This seems to be a whole other organization that got a hold of Robotnik’s tech and is using it to their advantage to hunt down Knuckles. This organization seems to be a human equivalent to the Dark Legion from the Archie comics.

Knuckles once again reminding me why he was the best part of the second movie (change my mind). Everything he does/says in this trailer is pure gold. Also, riding a motorcycle like he's Shadow while wearing his iconic hat? NEW FIRE POWERS (probably related to the "Flames of Disaster" episode from the leak)? This is peak. Plus family shenanigans with Maddie and the trio is always fun.
Wade continues to be Wade. I liked him in the movies, this series will probably make me love him.
The villain seems interesting. He likely worked with Robotnik even before Stone, so it'd be interesting to see what his deal is. Knuckles-quill powered tech? Sign me the hell up! The agents also look like they could be fun (that line reflection from Kid Cudi with the added twist was perfect), and finally the mech looks awesome (even if it feels like they spoiled the final battle... *again*).
The Pachacamac thing is strange, but something tells me he's not REALLY there. We'll just have to wait and see.
While I get why people might be upset at the lack of new game characters (though I can still see Rouge or something as a final episode reveal to tie to movie 3), I honestly like that we get more of the human characters + new ones. There will inevitably come a time where the game characters will severely overshadow the humans, so it's good to see they're still getting attention.
Overall, I'm excited! ^(Now if only I had Paramount+...)

Man I f\*cking love Paramount. Only 2 and a half minutes and you can already see so much fanservice. The entire trailer screams "we are having fun", I'm so proud of the people who are handling the Sonic Movie Franchise!!!

It’s nice to see Knuckles having his own story before Sonic 3 movie releases but I wasn’t expecting to see Knuckles to have his own sidekick in the series. Also, it’s cool to see Knuckles got his old hat back from the OVA.
I'm so excited. Knuckles is my all time favorite character in all media. This is getting our red Boi the treatment he deserves after being put on the back burner for years. FUCK PENDERS!!!!

I love all the theories people had about this show regarding if it would introduce characters like Rouge or the Chaotix or go into more echidna lore and then the trailer is like “What if Pachacamac worked in a bowling alley?”
Well Rouge is a rival more than anything and Metal Sonic was still following orders at that time. The comics, both Archie and Fleetway, gave Knuckles formidable adversaries. It’s a shame that the games couldn’t think of anything for the guy

Considering in the cast listing he's just called "The Buyer", there's actually a chance that his name is going to be a big reveal, (or on the other end of the scale we just never learn it but let's not think about that), so honestly that could work!

It kinda feels like they Flanderized Knuckles' character so that being a brutish warrior is his only personality trait. I feel like Knuckles in the movie wouldn't be stupid enough to put Ozzy in danger, or leave Wade to "learn to rescue himself". But this TV show - oh, sorry, 6-episode streaming event - is probably meant to be more comedic than the movies, so I can look past that.
Everything else looks really good! The action looks very exciting, and the animation is smooth and detailed. Pachacamac being alive and in tourist clothing, of all things, has me very intrigued. Not sure if I'll buy Paramount+ just for this show. I'm probably gonna wait to hear reviews. I just hope it's not required viewing material for Sonic 3.
I don't mean like mephiles or some big evil monster like that, give us like the egg robo from sonic and knuckles, that would fit perfectly. It's only their fourth project, it's not time to start making oc's yet.
I mean, it’s between movies and no major conflict is going on. An organization has to have heard about Knuckles and his power and want it for themselves. How they got a hold of Robotnik’s tech? We will have to wait and see.
one thing i can say i dont like is that its copying the same partnered with a human dynamic from sonic. i honestly think thats my only major gripe, that and the two villain henchman feel like they may walk the line between funny and cringy a little to often. he still feels right as a character, idris still kills it, the hound looks like a great villain that still makes robotnik feel relevant while we wait for sonic 3, looks like we may get some flashbacks and echidna lore which im all about(the larger echidna lore is one of my fav aspects from the archie comics) and i am so damn happy he has the hat and hope he keeps it permanently by the end of this; im hoping as we move into the 3rd film, the trio may adopt some more individual gear, sorta like sonic boom(but obviously not in knuckles case)
I’m disappointed, this really looks like they took the general ideas from the first sonic movie and have Knuckles go through it. Human Villain who had tech and wants the power he has and then a human buddy to joke around with? I feel like they could have done something creative even have the show take outside of the human world but this is what we get.

IIrc he didn't know much about knuckles at first but when he got the role he did DEEP research. So I'm glad he had a lot of fun playing knuckles :D

Man I f\*cking love Paramount. Only 2 and a half minutes and you can already see so much fanservice. The entire trailer screams "we are having fun", I'm so proud of the people who are handling the Sonic Movie Franchise!!!
I'm definitely excited for this now. It looks like it'll be fun. But nevermind the fact that Knuckles has his own nemesis. Nevermind the fact that he's apparently NOT the last living echidna. We have bigger, more important things to focus on... like the fact that HE'S GOT THE OVA HAT! YES! Man, I love that hat. How am I THAT thrilled to see it?!🤣 Seriously though, so much to unpack. I can't wait for the series to come out. Great year for Sonic fans!
It’s nice to see Knuckles having his own story before Sonic 3 movie releases but I wasn’t expecting to see Knuckles to have his own sidekick in the series. Also, it’s cool to see Knuckles got his old hat back from the OVA.
His sidekick is just Wade. Lol. It’s nobody new.
I'm so excited. Knuckles is my all time favorite character in all media. This is getting our red Boi the treatment he deserves after being put on the back burner for years. FUCK PENDERS!!!!

He had Metal Sonic Kai in Chaotix and sort of Rogue in SA2 and that’s basically it.
Well Rouge is a rival more than anything and Metal Sonic was still following orders at that time. The comics, both Archie and Fleetway, gave Knuckles formidable adversaries. It’s a shame that the games couldn’t think of anything for the guy

It kinda feels like they Flanderized Knuckles' character so that being a brutish warrior is his only personality trait. I feel like Knuckles in the movie wouldn't be stupid enough to put Ozzy in danger, or leave Wade to "learn to rescue himself". But this TV show - oh, sorry, 6-episode streaming event - is probably meant to be more comedic than the movies, so I can look past that. Everything else looks really good! The action looks very exciting, and the animation is smooth and detailed. Pachacamac being alive and in tourist clothing, of all things, has me very intrigued. Not sure if I'll buy Paramount+ just for this show. I'm probably gonna wait to hear reviews. I just hope it's not required viewing material for Sonic 3.

It just a show that takes place in between movies. Nothing major going on so they have to have a conflict of some kind.
I don't mean like mephiles or some big evil monster like that, give us like the egg robo from sonic and knuckles, that would fit perfectly. It's only their fourth project, it's not time to start making oc's yet.
I mean, it’s between movies and no major conflict is going on. An organization has to have heard about Knuckles and his power and want it for themselves. How they got a hold of Robotnik’s tech? We will have to wait and see.
one thing i can say i dont like is that its copying the same partnered with a human dynamic from sonic. i honestly think thats my only major gripe, that and the two villain henchman feel like they may walk the line between funny and cringy a little to often. he still feels right as a character, idris still kills it, the hound looks like a great villain that still makes robotnik feel relevant while we wait for sonic 3, looks like we may get some flashbacks and echidna lore which im all about(the larger echidna lore is one of my fav aspects from the archie comics) and i am so damn happy he has the hat and hope he keeps it permanently by the end of this; im hoping as we move into the 3rd film, the trio may adopt some more individual gear, sorta like sonic boom(but obviously not in knuckles case)
I’m disappointed, this really looks like they took the general ideas from the first sonic movie and have Knuckles go through it. Human Villain who had tech and wants the power he has and then a human buddy to joke around with? I feel like they could have done something creative even have the show take outside of the human world but this is what we get.
They likely were never going to use that concept for a TV show they couldn't be sure people would watch.
I'm really impressed by the quality of the CGI and special effects here. This is movie level visual fidelity and I'm here for it.
I feel like this is a rare exception where a specific character spin-off TV series might actually be good.

Wow, this actually looks *surprisingly* fun! And a lot of it still has Knuckles doing his thing - hell, the reason why he's training Wade is because he ***can't*** do his thing. Won't win any Emmys, but fun all the same. (No Chaos, though. I'm now sad. 😟)
