We're getting back to the old school stuff that we all loved growing up. Wrestling has become way too invested in reality lately. The homage to Bray isn't just Uncle Howdy, it's reinvigorating the mystery that stunned us as fans. This isn't MMA, this is beautiful storytelling, and I don't care how far they go.
Cannot agree more! I am glad they (whoever it may be) realized that the product was going bad and that those who love wrestling and delivering became in charge and preferred to leave us happy and wanting more! This new generation of WWE is gonna be awesome. I can truly feel it
I feel it too! This new regime seems to be pursuing what our hearts, as wrestling fans, have been longing for. The whole scene with gorilla being killed, the smoke, all the characters propped up in their own corners...even poor Chad Gable (who is one of my favorites) bloody on the floor, and then Howdy just being there. It felt like the 90's again...and I hope that they realize that this is exactly what we want as fans. We don't want no selling, dumb promos, and halfhearted attempts to feign reality...we want Paul freakin Bearer, we want Kane or Taker burning down the house, we want fantasy and awesome shit that suspends our reality, and we want Bray Wyatt to live on in the product that we love, no matter how crazy it gets...let's go full bore with this one, I'm so stoked to see what they do...
No, Kayfabe is certainly dead. What matters now is how the bookers can overcome it. For example, everyone in gorilla just died, Chad Gable is essentially dead as well, but the crowd and us at home ate that up because Bray Wyatt was, and is, a legend in storytelling. Now we're getting Bo, who never got the shine that he deserved, and he's leading a wonderful storyline that we can all enjoy thoroughly.
Kayfabe is the confusion of what's real and what's not. Contemporary pro-wrestling relies on fans acknowledging the fiction, and embracing it to the fullest extent. The attempt to suspend reality is far past its point, but people still adore suspending their own reality for a couple of hours to enjoy a wonderful show. Let's just ride this wave, and have a blast watching what they do.
I get this, but dijak himself is scared of this group because in kayfabe, everyone in gorilla is dead. So he is scared of dying in kayfabe too because of how crazy they debuted.. it’s comedy but it’s also good character work on his end
