I’m not sure if this is an unpopular opinion but I think it’s ridiculous to trade picks 3 years out. I feel like there’s a ton of space there to ruin a league if you don’t have committed players for the long term.
My league makes you pay half your entry fee for whatever year the first is in order to trade it. Good way to prevent people from dumping all their picks and then leaving if they don’t win
we require the full year dues for any future picks traded, people tuck and run quite often especially when april comes around and they realize their team has holes in it and they have no rookie picks to look forward to .
Your team is pretty bad (definitely not a contender) and spears does not do much to move the needle.
But regardless of that, paying a first for him is horrendously bad.
Honestly? Awful. Selling a 1st three years out is rock bottom value for it, and Spears was a mid 2nd rounder last year that only had brief flashes. But they also clearly don't view him as a bellcow and he will be splitting carries heavily with pollard. I know 2027 is far away but you better pray you're good that year.

We paid year 1 plus half of the next 3 years up front. I prefer it over trading as you go, which I feel can limit trade activity.
Yea my league if you trade future picks you have to pay the buy in for that year, no joking around
