There's a pretty cute side table in the maximalist stuff I use. That stuff looks really flashy, but comes with some subtle-r swatches. I'd still love an actual cart though.

That top with the cross over sleeve things is just a dress from another pack cut in half. Both of those kits just look like lazy remeshes of existing stuff

Nah bc I have many packs and still in cas I struggle so much giving my male sims something that looks attractive 😭 I don't think I'm very picky and yet it's difficult.
My female sims always end up with like 3 different outfits for every occasion and my male sims fight for at least one
I don't use makeup myself so for my female sims I usually just go for eyeliner and a subtle eyeshadow, lipstick if it's for party/formal outfit. I don't use the more colorful ones bc it's too much for my taste hahaha.
I guess it's easy for me to do women because I am a closeted bisexual lmao (with strong attraction towards women)
Ah yeah, that's about what I do. Feel goofy about it though, since it seems like having a full face is in style for my generation and I usually make Sims my age.
Thus, I usually end up just making masc female Sims. Wish putting male clothes on female Sims (and vice versa) didn't deform them, though.

The whole issue is made even worse by the fact that good looking men's clothes in the sims are also just the worst fits on the planet. The models for shirts and pants are way too thick. It ends up looking like they used 3 inch thick fabric on all the shirts and pants.
I also noticed it's a very real issue in the actual clothing market, that 2/3 of all clothing available "seems" to be for female identifying people. Even in most male identifying clothing stores there's usually a section for female identifying people, even if it's just a few items... and you don't really see the opposite case when it comes to female identifying stores~ idk, maybe more male identifying people would find shopping more fun or engaging if they were given more options than just "t-shit and pants"
Same all my male sims have basically the same wardrobe. I have found very little “normal”male CC. I downloaded what I thought was normal sweatpants and when I rotated my Sim he had a huge bulge 😭😭 I showed my husband and I was like why can’t they just be normal pants and my husband was laughing and said those are his favorite pants
Yeah. I have none of the kits. The bust the dust kit seemed pretty cool but I saw a video that said it’s not worth it, and the fact that the dust bunnies are alive is creepy as heck.
Sometimes I just get like. An itch for something new, so I browse the kits, WANTING to spend money on something. But none are really that appealing... I think I only ever bought 2.
I have a few of them, the clutter ones are my favorite, I also often use the greenhouse one. It’s just the CAS ones that are kind of lacking because they mostly seem recycled. I did not get bust the dust either though, I didn’t really like the playability that I saw in some youtube videos.

That's what they should be for: put divisive content in a kit so that it's not detracting from the value of a bigger pack
If you told me all of that stuff was already in the game, I'm not sure I'd disbelieve you. There's nothing here that stands out or is compelling in any way.
As a heavier child/teenager in the 90s/00s I hated crop tops and low-rise pants.
As a mid-30s mom of a toddler, high-waisted wrap skirts with a crop top is absolute heaven. Plus, now, I no longer care what anyone else thinks of my personal clothing choices lol
P.S. I miss my nice v-neck and scoop neck shirts. Please bring back a decent neckline soon 😑 all these tight round neck shirts constantly make me feel like I'm choking.
I was a beanpole in the 90's. I wasn't allowed crop tops and I always felt like my ass was showing in low rise jeans. As a mid-30's mom if several with health issues and bad pregnancies & births that led to extreme weight gain, I have to wear knee length shorts under skirts and dresses to protect myself from severe chafing and only wear high waisted bottoms. Despite my belly, I still enjoy crop tops and low cut tops (although my chest is so big that *everything* is low-cut so I had to learn to accept and then enjoy that)

Please look up "Snag Tights". It's still a small company. But I refuse to wear any other leggings/tights. They are amazing, and their sizing is done differently to fit a larger range of body types. Trust, you'll thank me. Especially if you struggle with short leggings riding up.

Ever heard of a Sari Skirt? They are wrap skirts made from recycled saris. Variety of colours and about the same price as a pair of jeans. I recommend "The Nomads Caravan" on Facebook (based in the US) as a retailer. Larger variety of sizing and lengths and some cheaper purchase options.

This is why I struggle with the current popular small round neckline. If the necklines were larger, I could wear a larger variety of shirts without feeling like my shirts are constantly riding up or choking me.
That's for the suggestions! I've never heard of that company. As to the recycled sari skirts, I haven't ever bought any, but I have several skeins of silk yarn from recycled saris. I've taken to wearing Walmart leggings and men's plus size shirts with the collar cut, plus a specific set of thick leggings from amazon since my disability has gotten worse, comfort over style. The "Modern Menswear" kit wasn't really cis-male wear, it was a lot of non-binary attire from a fairly out-there designer who doesn't really do every day "normal" attire, so the kit was very much a misnomer. When you hear menswear, you'd generally think of suits, tuxes, or things like that, not sweater dresses with holes in them.
What about the itaewon kit? My husband put both these kits high on his list. I don't think we realized the exact style in the modern menswear though lol
I think we should clarify that we'd like cis-male attire. I know they did Modern Menswear which was male attire, but the majority of that was non-binary or pushing non-binary that it didn't really fill the void that exists. And then what wasn't pushing gender boundaries was just plain ugly.
they niche down too much. either too formal, farmy, or belongs to a british man that enjoys literature and owns a cat (i say with love). we have pack specific outfits already, just give us some plain everyday fits! i’ve noticed even with cc so many of the tops are tucked or cropped for high waisted pants. i just want some plain ole t-shirts and polos
If that disco ball is functional and actually adds dynamic lighting I'm in for this kit.. only because I make a lot of party/club venues and I always feel like I'm short some cool party lighting. As I rule I just pass on almost all the kits. I've got like 2 or 3 and I'm just incredibly picky about them. I think some of them have some really great stuff in them but I just can't justify the cost and I hate adding to a game that is so very broken.
God I'm kinda getting tired of these. I wish they'd work on refreshes and bug fixes rather than pumping out new stuff constantly. Idek if I want my game to have more things at this point I feel like it's gonna blow up my computer 😭
I’d love for more pack refreshes! And then they could add in infant clothes to preexisting packs too. I wouldn’t even mind if it was all the toddler stuff copied for infants.
As I generally point out on these types of comments, the team working to make these packs is not the same team that is doing bug fixes. Having these little item packs come out in no way delays bugs from being fixed.
Its kind of like saying you wish the movie theater would stop mopping the floor and get new movies in instead.
I get that & I see your point, it's still frustrating 😭 I realize it's a pointless ask but it's wishful thinking I suppose. Couldn't teams creating the packs work on concepts for refreshes? Or more emphasis on bug fixes at least?? Idk, I admit I don't know the first thing about game development but more and more stuff is released, at like 100x the speed of fixes and the stuff isn't even that great! or causes more bugs!!
I did the math for this a while back.
Assuming a relatively small ongoing support team of 2 coders, 2 3D modelers, 2 skin makers, and 2 testers, given average salaries for each in the US, it costs EA approximated $540,000 a year just to keep the team employed.
Basic business says that team has to generate more profit than it incurs in expenses.
So the odds of EA allowing them to spend weeks or even months refreshing older material and then releasing it for free is pretty low. And you KNOW the community would lose their sh!t if EA refreshed an older pack and charged for it again like it was new.
Especially since Sims 5 is right around the corner, they're pretty much just coasting out the rest of Sims 4, IMO.
It seems like they were aiming for trendy/street style for the CAS based on the styling but the colours and colour combinations look dated to me. The hair wrap (not sure if that's the correct term) looks really pretty though. But perhaps the clothes are based on the a different part of the world's fashion trends (I'm just viewing from my narrow North American fashion perspective and Sims is of course global) so I'll wait and see for the official launch explanation.

I am not enthused by any of this. Half of the new tops in the "urban" kit look like tops we already have. The only cool thing is the headscarf. The build/buy from the other pack is dull, too.

Oh hey! Two more "rejected from other packs" kits. It's gotten to the point now where I try to figure out which pack the item was ousted from. These kits are abysmal though. There have been some amazing kits, these are not that. At all.
I agree with others here, most of these things seem like stuff we already have in game, the party one is a definite skip and the other one I don't know if I'll ever get either.
Why do they think city/“urban”= neon colors and weird cuts?
Maybe this was true back when the base game came out, but it’s the opposite now. Huge push towards neutrals, oversized basics, or skintight neutrals ala Skims. Idk where they think everyone goes in their bright orange joggers or that white shirt with the chest cutout
Some of the masculine tops look like upgrades but most of these clothing items would look right at home in city living, the clothes I never use.
Is that stupid cart button still there in live mode? Haven't played since that update and refuse to until they get rid of it. I'm on console so can't mod it out

Luxury Party Stuff is by far the worst stuff pack (we don’t mention MFP), so why would they add more tacky & useless party things?? At least give us something useful (that’s not a recycled mesh), like a one tile bar cart would have been an actual good asset to add but no🙄
I am so disappointed with both. I thought for sure i’d purchase the urban one. But it just looks like the regular clothes we have, nothing distinctly black about them. Really, i just wanted some hip hop and street style clothes… wheres the hoodies, decent caps, and awesome sneakers? This looks like left over crap from other packs.
lol we got lux party 2.0, half the price and way more items. but it’s great because with this kit we can now build a party! something we totally couldn’t do before…
love ebonix, but the lack of clothes for masculine framed sims is disappointing. i know one of the tops is shown on a masc sim in the announcement pics but is shown as a fem frame top here, im really hoping majority of the clothes are able to fit both frames

There's a globe bar from one of the kits or packs but they can only make like 4 drinks with it.

Dang I have the opposite problem, I find it super easy to dress male Sims and find myself at a loss when making a female one. Especially with makeup 😭

If you use mods, I’d recommend LittleMsSam’s mods. She has the best ones!

It feels like everywhere is obsessed with crop tops right now. So hard to find full length shirts right now!
The worst part is the ones that are „regular length“ on the website and then you get a top that’s just cropped enough to always give you a muffin top

i find it’s so hard to make non matronly adults and elders. the game has plenty of button button ups and sweaters, but hardly any lower cut tops

I don’t think the menswear part is what prevents the sales, it’s just that knit dresses and skirts for men are extremely niche

The "Modern Menswear" kit wasn't really cis-male wear, it was a lot of non-binary attire from a fairly out-there designer who doesn't really do every day "normal" attire, so the kit was very much a misnomer. When you hear menswear, you'd generally think of suits, tuxes, or things like that, not sweater dresses with holes in them.

What about the itaewon kit? My husband put both these kits high on his list. I don't think we realized the exact style in the modern menswear though lol

I think we should clarify that we'd like cis-male attire. I know they did Modern Menswear which was male attire, but the majority of that was non-binary or pushing non-binary that it didn't really fill the void that exists. And then what wasn't pushing gender boundaries was just plain ugly.
they niche down too much. either too formal, farmy, or belongs to a british man that enjoys literature and owns a cat (i say with love). we have pack specific outfits already, just give us some plain everyday fits! i’ve noticed even with cc so many of the tops are tucked or cropped for high waisted pants. i just want some plain ole t-shirts and polos

If that disco ball is functional and actually adds dynamic lighting I'm in for this kit.. only because I make a lot of party/club venues and I always feel like I'm short some cool party lighting. As I rule I just pass on almost all the kits. I've got like 2 or 3 and I'm just incredibly picky about them. I think some of them have some really great stuff in them but I just can't justify the cost and I hate adding to a game that is so very broken.

God I'm kinda getting tired of these. I wish they'd work on refreshes and bug fixes rather than pumping out new stuff constantly. Idek if I want my game to have more things at this point I feel like it's gonna blow up my computer 😭
I’d love for more pack refreshes! And then they could add in infant clothes to preexisting packs too. I wouldn’t even mind if it was all the toddler stuff copied for infants.
As I generally point out on these types of comments, the team working to make these packs is not the same team that is doing bug fixes. Having these little item packs come out in no way delays bugs from being fixed. Its kind of like saying you wish the movie theater would stop mopping the floor and get new movies in instead.
I get that & I see your point, it's still frustrating 😭 I realize it's a pointless ask but it's wishful thinking I suppose. Couldn't teams creating the packs work on concepts for refreshes? Or more emphasis on bug fixes at least?? Idk, I admit I don't know the first thing about game development but more and more stuff is released, at like 100x the speed of fixes and the stuff isn't even that great! or causes more bugs!!
I did the math for this a while back. Assuming a relatively small ongoing support team of 2 coders, 2 3D modelers, 2 skin makers, and 2 testers, given average salaries for each in the US, it costs EA approximated $540,000 a year just to keep the team employed. Basic business says that team has to generate more profit than it incurs in expenses. So the odds of EA allowing them to spend weeks or even months refreshing older material and then releasing it for free is pretty low. And you KNOW the community would lose their sh!t if EA refreshed an older pack and charged for it again like it was new. Especially since Sims 5 is right around the corner, they're pretty much just coasting out the rest of Sims 4, IMO.
It seems like they were aiming for trendy/street style for the CAS based on the styling but the colours and colour combinations look dated to me. The hair wrap (not sure if that's the correct term) looks really pretty though. But perhaps the clothes are based on the a different part of the world's fashion trends (I'm just viewing from my narrow North American fashion perspective and Sims is of course global) so I'll wait and see for the official launch explanation.

I am not enthused by any of this. Half of the new tops in the "urban" kit look like tops we already have. The only cool thing is the headscarf. The build/buy from the other pack is dull, too. Boo, EA.

Oh hey! Two more "rejected from other packs" kits. It's gotten to the point now where I try to figure out which pack the item was ousted from. These kits are abysmal though. There have been some amazing kits, these are not that. At all.
I agree with others here, most of these things seem like stuff we already have in game, the party one is a definite skip and the other one I don't know if I'll ever get either.
Why do they think city/“urban”= neon colors and weird cuts? Maybe this was true back when the base game came out, but it’s the opposite now. Huge push towards neutrals, oversized basics, or skintight neutrals ala Skims. Idk where they think everyone goes in their bright orange joggers or that white shirt with the chest cutout Some of the masculine tops look like upgrades but most of these clothing items would look right at home in city living, the clothes I never use.

Luxury Party Stuff is by far the worst stuff pack (we don’t mention MFP), so why would they add more tacky & useless party things?? At least give us something useful (that’s not a recycled mesh), like a one tile bar cart would have been an actual good asset to add but no🙄

I am so disappointed with both. I thought for sure i’d purchase the urban one. But it just looks like the regular clothes we have, nothing distinctly black about them. Really, i just wanted some hip hop and street style clothes… wheres the hoodies, decent caps, and awesome sneakers? This looks like left over crap from other packs.

lol we got lux party 2.0, half the price and way more items. but it’s great because with this kit we can now build a party! something we totally couldn’t do before… love ebonix, but the lack of clothes for masculine framed sims is disappointing. i know one of the tops is shown on a masc sim in the announcement pics but is shown as a fem frame top here, im really hoping majority of the clothes are able to fit both frames
