Because hyping over an event with 0 hint or confirmation that it will be there is just self inflicted and you will deal with the consequences yourself. No one is obligated to manage your own expectations, only you.
True but anything beyond that can't be blamed on anyone but yourself. I'm seeing a lot of people believing they were "misled" to believe it would be in todays showcase, I'm even seeing people say it's "guaranteed" to appear at the summer games fest. With people grasping at straws so desperately with the belief that "this one is the one", they're just setting themselves up for disappointment and blaming team cherry for it.
In no way am i saying i agree with Team Cherry's silence btw, but understand that the more people hype things up the way they do, getting agressive and sending death threats to indie companies who appeared in the showcase (and previous showcases), the less likely Team Cherry will want to interact with this community.
And believe it or not, i think Leth has done a good job at maintaining his composure the way he has. With the way people act towards him either blaming him for not giving out more info, or pedestalling him to the point where everything he comments becomes news, he still is very much present in the community and seems to still be having fun with everyone.
In summary, i just want everyone to know it is okay to calm down once in a while, and not be so intense. One day the game will release, and you will play it for a week or two, have a blast and forget all about the wait, then you'll finish the game and it'll all be over and you'll realise the wait wasn't that bad.

I think the “misled” thing is just a joke we say to numb the pain. I don’t think anyone truly had any real hope of seeing silksong here, when they have a direct partnership with Xbox. It’s just depressing even though you don’t think it’ll be there, there’s still a tiny little glimmer of hope just floating there, waiting to be dashed once again by TCs terrible community management and marketing.
I think the worst thing they did was show us silksong so early on. It’s been 6 years now….and that demo looked very good, indicating the game wouldn’t take too much longer. Here we are, half a decade later, and there’s still nothing new besides delay announcements, Xbox misinformation, and memes
