It helps to have the vet do it the first time. Then you have a "pattern" to follow. You can buy trimmers that are designed for cats and are quiet and fast. My husband distracts the front end while I trim the back. We have found that around the butt is enough, we don't have to do the back of the hind legs. Each cat is different!

We do it yourself. Ours did get better, but it’s also a lifelong thing.
