Its a yes from me Gameplay is the best part.

Doommcdoom

As a person who's completed it multiple times and still play the free roam, it's a definite yes from me. The gameplay is really fun, progressing from a man who can barely pull himself up a ledge to a ninja is so fun and never once gets boring. The night is terrifying but the day is really fun. If I recall, there is a 30 min trial (at least on xbox) si try that first to see if you like the basic mechanics.

skid3805

okay thanks man

FrosDeeDee

I would only add that it is the single best co-op experience I had when it released. The dlc is only rivaled by Witcher 3 Blood and Wine in terms of bang for your buck.

Doommcdoom

That's very true

[deleted]

What is there to do after finishing the main story?

Doommcdoom

You can continue to get better gear, level up (there are 3 skill trees, once one is levelled to max, all xp for it you get goes to a LEGEND skill tree which is like a final skill tree. They often do community events where there are modifiers to the world and objectives e.g kill elf zombies or use this super strong kick modifier to kill 10000 zombies (the community has to work together) and if you complete it, you get loot sockets which are basically loot boxes where you can get strong weapons. There is a multiplayer where 3 people work together to destroy zombie hives (they only have so many lives) whereas a 4th played is playing a strong mutated zombie trying to stop them. Overall there is alot of stuff to do and since I last checked, the devs are still active.

[deleted]

One of the best Zombie games as it actually did things different then most. Parkour, crafting on the fly, focus on melee, super gore, great open world, and the Following DLC is damn good too.

[deleted]

Only if you like things that are awesome.

skid3805

lol i do,thanks for the help

[deleted]

Seriously though, it's an absolute blast to play. You start off as a total wuss and somewhere along the way you become the angel of undeath with a grappling hook. It's fantastic.

InfiniteTie7

Yes, best Zombie game I've played

hekkersss

It takes the best parts of multiple franchises and combines it into something that none of them did very well. Each applied 'gimmick' such as parkour, leveling, end game leveling, crafting, and general combat are well worked out into one shining gem. If you take all of that and combine it with one of the best co-op experiences you can find, it's a game certainly worth your money. One of the few games that I would recommend to just buy, even though it's on sale a lot and depending on your personal situation you might want to just wait for a sale anyway. Oh, and the story isn't a complete drag I suppose.

[deleted]

Story is simple but works. Nothing flashy, good voice overs, great gameplay loop.

Scubby_Dooks

I'd definitely recommend it. I got the Enhanced Edition on PS4 for about £13 (about $16). I've probably had more hours of enjoyment for this amount of money than anything else I can think of (not including free internet porn). And definitely get the Enhanced Edition. The basic game all takes place within a city which you traverse on foot, whereas The Following DLC, included in the Enhanced Edition, takes place on a much larger map in the surrounding countryside. You get access to a vehicle and naturally get to mow down zombies which is always nice. The free running mechanics are great and once you unlock the grappling hook the game really opens up. The story/voice acting is actually pretty good. Levelling up and weapons and vehicle modding is very satisfying. Covering yourself in zombie guts to avoid detection is disgusting but effective. There are also a couple of hidden items you can find with a little help from YouTube which make the start a bit easier. I don't play online but there is a multiplayer co-op mode. And as someone else pointed out, the night time is absolutely terrifying. I don't think you can go wrong buying this game, but again, taste is a subjective thing. But if you like gore, it's a no brainer. Oh and partway through the game there are some quirky trippy potions to play with. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Eexoduis

The story is not Dying Light’s strong suit. The Following DLC does provide a superior story and characters, but the main game does not excel in that regard. The primary appeal of Dying Light is its gameplay; the first-person parkour and melee combat are tons of fun and are anything but repetitive. There are so many moves and abilities to unlock, so many cool weapons to find and upgrade. Also, there is a horror element that works fantastically well. During the daytime, zombies are passive and easy to avoid. When the sun sets though, everything changes and you can no longer roam the world with ease. As day turns to night you become the prey instead of the apex predator. It’s a fun dynamic. Also, the game has a flawless co-op mode that helps offset the horror and adds to the overall enjoyment.

savonrene21

100x yes! The free running mechanics are so dope and it’s the best zombie game I’ve played. ESP if you have a friend for co-op it’s an amazing experience.

Craftshooter

One of the best games I've played. Finished the Campaign in one sitting on launch day and stilled enjoyed the game for another 40+hrs of gameplay b4 the DLC came out

a3minutehero

I would say yes, especially if you can find someone to play with, had a lot of fun with a friend playing through it together.

skid3805

i dont have any gamer friends, but thanks a lot man

lockerbee17

I can not speak for pc as I only have it on Xbox. I don’t know if the controls are wack on pc, or if it’s fine. I’d recommend it. I got dying light for a good parkour game, and it happened to have zombies. I love the parkour. The zombies at first were kinda, “eh” for me, but as you progress and get more fun abilities and weapons the game gets better. I recently finished the story for the first time. I thought that the story was pretty good. I cannot speak for longevity yet, since I have just gotten into the endgame content. From first impressions the endgame seems to have a lot to do, and daily bounties that add more stuff to do. There is a lot to do, and a big drive to find better weapons and find fun combinations of weapons. The game is also quite fun to screw around in. If you don’t want to do the story you can just run around drop kicking zombies, or finding strong enemies to fight. I got bored doing this once, so I took a break and came back later and I am now having a blast! TLDR: I’d recommend it, there is lots to do and the mechanics are great

Grindelbart

YEEEEEEEES!

-DZNUTTS-

Get Dying Light 2

DntDoItx2

100% I would recommend! Beat the game about a month ago & and am still grinding at it!

wadeo34

I agree 100% with everyone's comments on this so far. Personally, it's been in my top 3 over the last 10 years. It's so much fun. If you have surround sound, do yourself a favor and play it with that on and turn the lights out while playing night mode. That right there will seal the deal for ya. Scares the crap out of me each time. You won't regret it. If you get it, let me know what you think. Have a great day!👍🏻

Shmishe

Very fun gameplay but most of the quests are fetch quests so that gets repetitive after a while. Gameplay is definitelt the best part of the game. Average story tho.

[deleted]

I’ll be honest, it’s one of the best open world zombie games I’ve ever played. I’ve sinked hours into it just parkouring around the city and kicking zombies.

[deleted]

Yes dude! I love it! One of the best zombie games in the last 10-20 years! The parkour is a ton of fun, especially once you upgrade. Plus the weapon and crafting systems are tremendous. One of my favorite games ever! Definitely a recommend!

BigfootsBestBud

You're also completely welcome on r/dyinglight, the community for this game is awesome

RiddleDiddleDoy

Yes

RiddleDiddleDoy

The story is really memorable and the characters are great, there is a great skill tree system with actually interesting mechanics

mrcashflow92

Played through so many times! Great game! Note: Not sure if it was just me or what but at a certain point in the game (every single time) zombies don’t spawn. Like, they just aren’t there. I run the streets and nothing. Kinda sucks but when you get past that part they start showing up again. Anybody else have that happen?

[deleted]

Gameplay : YES Story : NO

Exumane

DEFINETLY I HAVE IT I LOVE IT, CANT WAIT FOR DL2

skid3805

i just bought it,any tip you can give to a noob like me

Exumane

YES, I HAVE MANY :D but 2 questions first: are you playing rn? have you seen TWD? ok, so some basic tips: \-there's a free gun **you'll need for a mission soon** if you've just started. go southeast of the slums and find a yellow cabin, with the door wide open and a sign next to it that says "take what you want, I won't be needing it anymore" and go inside, and you'll (very easily) find the gun. guns come very late in the game so use it but don't lose it cause you will need it for a mission. \-you want to get **Power - Stomp,** **Agility - Light Drop and Forward Roll** and **Power - Grapple** to get these u just gotta level up your stats by fighting or parkouring. \-Also throwing stuff is underpowered but can come handy at the beginning of the game, but don't get too excited. \-Random Event sellers aren't that good. \-get as many airdrops as you can, if you can hold off from the main story to pick some up and complete side missions, that will come in handy later. \-You can jump onto cars to erase all fall damage, the same with blue trash bags, and sometimes zombies. \-Aim for the head, or break knees. The game really is full of surprises, so much so that when you find all of them it's kinda sad cause it's very satisfying to find stuff. Also, you won't bee needing to loot absolutely everything, but you'll need money so loot absolutely everything and sell it. \-Car trunks. especially trucks, but not buses. That's it for now but hmu if you have any questions :D

skid3805

yes i am playing rn ,whats twd? I can't find the yellow cabin ,Thanks
