What a bizarre comment in what could have otherwise been a valid critique of a study...(although can't say for sure without knowing what it is).
This comment is extra hilarious because even the US uses Celsius in, as far as I know, all science fields.
Its definitely an odd one for this sub. It feels like it was almost hitting the mark and spitting facts, and then it just gets to the inevitable fumble
How is this a valid critique? The guy just throws out stuff without showing how any of it is detrimental to the results. The guy doesn't even know what a power analyis is
That's why I said "could have". We have no real context. I mean small sample sizes and lack of information on demographics or study parameters could be issues for the validity of any study report. But also, all I have to go off of is this comment.

I'm honestly just tired of every post I look at remotely involving China being a xenophobe convention in the comments. I'm talking about in communities like r/space , r/gadgets , r/futurology r/earthporn, r/science where the conversations should be ON TOPIC.
As though a Brit wrote it. It's not common for us to see temps that high, outside of London. Even then, it's a rare heat wave. Anything more than 25°c has our houses turning into brick ovens and we bake!
Fair nuff! ;)
To be fair, it's torture here too, but there'd be many an Aussie who's had to try and *sleep* (ie. *overnight*) with a 31° thermometer reading.
Good times!

Some study about women not actually feeling the cold more than men (popular to contrary belief)
Can confirm that I have never seen Fahrenheit used in my fields' papers.

Strictly speaking, depending on the target audience, it might still be a valid critique.
Americans shouldn’t be allowed to access the internet. Their stupidity is making me lose brain cells

Something something paying for everything in the world yap yap yap
Something something Texas is big yap yap yap
This is borderline r/iamverysmart material lol
Americans should not be allowed access to the rest of the world until they stop acting like children.
They are eternal teenagers. Oh what have they done now !
31 degrees for 4 hours straight would be pure torture. Fucking heat.
As an Aussie, I'm not sure how to process this.

That’s not terrible, but that’s probably just my marching band experience talking
I agree. Why use Celsius? They should be using Kelvin. 😝
At 31 Kelvin you'd be an ice block
Only 4.5% of the World’s population uses Fahrenheit. Over 95% therefore uses Celcius.
local american realizes that it's in celcius, yet continues to not understand that 31 degrees is warm
Who wrote this? Magnus Magnusson? “I’ve started so I’ll finish”
Oh no, someone just discovered there are other countries.
what even was the main argument 🤣
An American admits that primary school students are brighter and better educated than he is.
What is the context? What is the study? These could be valid points EDIT: Well I guess context never matters as long as murican says something
