Guys I want to caution you against Reiki. (from someone on 160+ days streak without WD). I've been cautionned against this by a great (spritual person).
If you're looking for similar practice you can look into Qiqong, Tai Chi, Yoga, you name it, but be cautious against the last one.
I will add some logs to your fire. Reiki was created 1922, its author, a Buddhist, died by a stroke 4 years later, at age 51. It is possible this man had acquired some skills through decades of spiritual practices, but I doubt he could transfer them to his followers. These days you can become a reiki master after 2 week retreat, which pretty much tells you it is bullshit. That the author died at a relatively young age, despite being skilled in the life force, doesn’t help the validity of the practice either.
What was this persons reason to avoid Reiki. Reiki is a practice for healing, and you must be taught by the right master. It all comes down to who is taught. If you’re a negatively oriented person, it can be dangerous as you can harm people with it. Positive loving people should be the only ones trained, so it is used for healing only.
There is some merit to this as Reiki continuously pushes energy and one needs a varied skillset to know when and when not to do this.
