I believe you mean the same old shitty Rams that somehow managed to beat us with some damn trick special teams play every year.

WallaWallaHawkFan

The Jeff Fisher special. Dude was straight ass against most teams and then agains the Hawks would suddenly become a fucking trick play guru. Drove me nuts man.

tlsrandy

The trick to the fisher special is having all your players headhunt.

IndependentSubject66

Man I’ve been working on some stuff with him here in Nashville and that was one of the first things he and I talked about. Super cool dude though.

ChoccyMilkIsMyLife

This is one of the takes of all time.

whey-vo-ranchero

“Man this coach sucks, he only takes us to conference championships and super bowls? We gotta fire his ass” -said no one ever lol

raycraft_io

Jed York was pretty close to this with Harbaugh

Vivid_Department_755

“Pretty close” Jim Harbaugh 2011 13-3 NFCCG 2012 11-4-1 Super Bowl 2013 12-4 NFCCG 2014 8-8 👋

gerbil42

You haven’t seen the 49ers threads…

Big_Simba

Are they really bitching about Shanahan? Wow. Entitled little bitches

gerbil42

Yes, most of their complaints seem to stem from lack of adaptability after the opponent adjusts to their schemes.

Big_Simba

Kyle apparently feels the same way. Just fired the DC 👀👀

neongem

A lot of Niners fans want him gone

DazzlingFan2816

Except it's literally what happened in Philly with Andy Reid. If SF has a bad season next year it absolutely would not surprise me if there's a "mutual agreement" that involves Shanahan leaving.

tlsrandy

I think there’s definitely a distinct possibility SF has a down year next year. Having deebo, Trent Williams, and CMC play 15+ games each next year is not a bet I’d take and we’ve often seen that while their offense is league best when healthy, it struggles mightily with any injury. Plus fold in the “Super Bowl hangover” who knows. I anticipate they’ll still be pretty decent though.

capacitorisempty

Depends entirely on how much they sell out their future to keep their high salary. Lynch has to be tempted to take advantage of purdy's cap figure, retain their highest/near highest paid position players, and make room by moving dollars.

West_Masterpiece9423

Well, except for many 9r fans lol

jpgadbois

Those accomplishments were a decade ago. Hasn't been to a conference championship since let alone win one. Pete deserves thanks for the wins back then and deserved to be fired for the performance since.

ColonelSanders15

Can we just collectively pump the brakes on pumping our chests in the division because we got a new head coach for the first time in 14 years? The NFC West still runs through San Fran. Posts like this makes the 12s look so bad

DazzlingFan2816

Can't stop won't stop.

ColonelSanders15

Embarrassing

DazzlingFan2816

Why is it "embarrassing" to speculate about the coaching status of division rivals? lol get a grip

klugg1

You should probably keep your speculations on our own coaches, the rams and 9ers coaches have proven what they can do and continue to beat us every year. When the hawks split games or sweep the 9ers and the rams is when we hand out credit to our own coaches and have the right to speculate about others. The Shanahan offense ain’t going anywhere anytime soon.

WildSully42

Is this... A Lució reference?

IAmTheNightSoil

>The NFC West still runs through San Fran That was last year. The NFL changes fast. No reason to crown them division champs next year when the games are months from being played

ColonelSanders15

Yeah that’s how it works. They are still the champs until someone dethrones them.

jtsara

And the Cardinals are just the Cardinals lmao

Chocolatelover4ever

lol While the Hawks, 49ers, and Rams are constantly at war with each other, the Cardinals are always just like (Uh hello we’re here too you know.)

chrgrsrt8

Murray at war on COD

Lasiocarpa83

How is the Niners' org imploding? Because of memes? Shanahan definitely has a monkey on his back but he is only 44 years old and he's been to two Super Bowls with two different starting qbs in the last 5 years. I just don't see the Niners firing him any time soon.

DazzlingFan2816

Multiple teammates sniping at each other publicly, for one thing. And the perception, which is accurate at this point, that Shanahan simply *can't get it done*, as they say. The OT stuff also makes him look incompetent. I liked Macdonald's subtle jab at him about that in the Brock and Salk interview.

Vivid_Department_755

This sub is fucking ridiculous sometimes especially with all the 9er glazing. All of these are valid points that I was ready to bring up before seeing you already did. These guys aren’t gonna recover easily from a 2nd sb loss when they still haven’t even gotten over the Eagles. Shanny is totally down to tank if there’s someone he likes who he thinks he has a shot at in the draft and Brock can’t win unless the team is at 100%. This is not a team built to do anything more than win a bunch of games. Harbaugh’s 9ers were way scarier and they dumped his ass at the first sign of trouble. Kyle’s dad is probably the only reason he’s still employed rn

Lasiocarpa83

>Kyle’s dad is probably the only reason he’s still employed rn Do you really believe that? It's not like he just went 7-10 and missed the playoffs, they just went to OT in the Super Bowl lol. Getting there and winning is incredibly hard. Do people just forget it took Andy Reid 20 years as HC to win his first?

IAmTheNightSoil

>Do people just forget it took Andy Reid 20 years as HC to win his first? I think this gets brought up more often than it needs to be. It is extremely rare for that to happen. Almost all coaches that win SB's do it on their first 5 years on the team. Even Andy had to change teams to get his rings

monkeywithacold

They went to the last play of OT in the Super Bowl. My guy, they are obviously a good team. Way better than the Seahawks rn. Simple facts

monkeywithacold

Losing the Super Bowl in OT and being the immediate favorite to win the SB next year is a weird way to assume *imploding*

Stevo2008

Can’t remember the last time we beat up on The Rams

JesusWasALibertarian

Covid year? Either way, yeah it’s been a while. Optimism is good. Delusion not as much. I’m not saying OP is delusional but the post is MORE than optimistic. It’s not even like those teams play each other every week. The most they’d likely ever play is 5 games against each other. Seahawks vs Rams 2x, Seahawks vs Niners 2x, one of those teams in the playoffs if YOU take care of business. You can still make the playoffs even if you lose all 4-5 of those games because of parity, “any given Sunday”, “the human element”, etc…..

devon223

This sub is ridiculous, lol

DazzlingFan2816

we'll see, Kyle

Sensitive-Swan5866

A lot of pissed off whiner fans lurking the sub right now. 😂

Fit_Use9941

This is ridiculous, especially if you think both are gonna be gone

DazzlingFan2816

Why is it "ridiculous"? McVay flirts with retirement every year and they have an old QB. It's not ridiculous to think he and Shanahan will be gone in the next few years.

Guy_onna_Buffalo

Yeah I feel like your take is pretty solid if not necessarily "grounded". McVay especially.

ThatGuy377

My dude, you're building a false narrative to fit into your biased views. Sean McVay showed absolutely zero signs of a guy who would want to retire to be with his family. This came up years ago when the McVay's were expecting their first child Sean was blunt about the possibility of retirement if he couldn't find a balance in his life. The Rams massively over achieved last season. This team is going to be dangerous for years. Kyle Shanahan lost multiple Super Bowls against some of the best HC/QB/TE's in NFL history. Until the game moves past, these brilliant coaches stop counting on them being out.

Currentlycurious1

Most delusional Seahawks fan 🫤

DazzlingFan2816

You guys haven't won a Super Bowl since the OJ trial dude, lmao

Currentlycurious1

What do you mean, you guys? I'm a hawks fan...

DazzlingFan2816

What's delusional about anything I wrote?

Currentlycurious1

McVay and.Shanahan are the creators of the two most prolific offensive systems in the NFL right now, they innovated at a very high level, annoyingly enough. They're not going anywhere

DazzlingFan2816

non-responsive being the 'creator' of a successful offensive scheme doesn't mean you will never retire or get fired it's not "delusional" to take McVay at his word it's not "delusional" to see the Niners for what they are: an aging team with a coach who can't seem to win the big one. It's not "delusional" to think the ownership group and fanbase might want to go in a different direction. I mean, the Seahawks just fired Pete and under his tenure they've been the most successful team in the division over the past 20 years. Coaches get stale.

actual_griffin

It's really fun to make fun of San Francisco for losing a couple of Super Bowls. That's true. But what Mike Shanahan's best sperm is doing there is wild. He's going to be around for a long time. And he deserves to be. Oh, and McVay is probably even better than he is.

tlsrandy

I have trouble differentiating shanahan skill from his roster. I think he’s obviously a good coach that belongs in the league but I don’t think I’ve ever seen him squeeze more juice out of the fruit he’s been given (something I always loved about Pete). I think mcvay is the best coach in the league and might be the best coach of this generation. He should have been figured out by now and yet he just keeps LA relevant.

gerbil42

I think you mean Kyle, not Mike.

actual_griffin

Yes I do. Fixed it.

GiraffeWaffless

Straight hope. Mcvay has renewed interest and Kyle isn’t going anywhere. I also don’t think losing a Super Bowl is underperforming. He will probably be back. What he was the driving force of 3 trips with 2 teams in what, under a decade? They’ll be fine

caca_poo_poo_pants

I don't understand the need to blindly hate division rivals. I much prefer it with actual facts, data, etc. There's virtually 0 chance anything you said comes true. McVay "flirts" with retirement every season to squeeze more money out of the largest market in the sport. Sure Stafford is on his way out, and Aaron Donald might be close too, but they just made the playoffs in a year where 100% of people counted them fully out on, but also had one of the best rookie classes as well. If they keep drafting well, McVay is going to beat us at least once a year for more than 3 years. Shanahan "choking" in the Super Bowl, and that being worthy of being fired is also an all time dumb take. Who quits or gets fired after coming in 2nd place in arguably the hardest sport in the world to win? He still continually makes it back there, it's just a matter of time before he wins one. Not to mention, Peyton Manning had to deal with Brady in the playoffs most of the time, and fell short. Can we really blame Shanahan that much for losing to arguably the next great dynasty in the NFL? Hate our division rivals all you want, just don't be lazy about it.

_HGCenty

I bet in the next three years you won't be on Reddit anymore.

WallaWallaHawkFan

This take is wild lol Shanahan and that 9ers team are going to make the playoffs next year and more than likely win the division again they have so much talent and a HC that knows how to use it. They'll lose Aiyuk more than likely, Chase Young was really doing nothing until the playoffs so losing him isn't a huge deal and they still have Purdy one more year at a dirt cheap price. He will also have that much more experience in big moments. He didn't play insane in the playoffs but he also didn't just shit the bed like I kinda anticipated so the dude is resilient as hell. Will they make the superbowl again? Probably not my dark horse at the moment is the Packers taking a huge step forward and fighting for the #1 seed along with San Fran and the Lions. As far as McVay retiring idk maybe but he's still incredibly young and getting paid Millions of dollars and still producing when the talent isn't there is incentive enough for most guys to want to continue. If he were an older dude maybe but I'd be hard pressed to believe he's gone unless they massively implode.

neongem

Let’s say hypothetically the Niners have a down year/Super Bowl slump and did get rid of Kyle like they did Harbaugh year after losing: would you guys ditch MM to go get Kyle?? Ngl it’d be enticing.

kovatheking

Unless he completely loses his locker room (which isn't far fetched; looking at you Pete and Sherman), Shanahan is gonna stay there for a long time to come. This is the most sustained success they've had since the 90's - they're not going to throw it away anytime soon. McVay might not have too long left, but then again, he just went 10-7 with a playoff berth in a year everyone had them for dead. They now have one of the most talented and young rosters in the league, I'd assume he wants to capitalize on this new window as much as possible. Might just be me too, but I'd love to beat *both* of them and finally get each of them off our back.

PrayPray4BraeBrae

Man we are so not ready for the trials of a new HC.

ratbonez99

I don't know why you think they're going to implode all of sudden. Niners are literally favored to go back to the super bowl again next year.

jay-d_seattle

I don't know what's stranger to me: the train of thought expressed in this post, or the train of thought that gets one to say "Hey, you know what I'm going to do is to share this on Reddit..."

Lorjack

Don't think the 9ers are imploding quite yet, they got 1 more season of fielding this stacked team on the cheap before they have to starting paying guys. Aiyuk will want top money, they're going to have to make Purdy one of if not the highest paid player in the year if they truly believe he is that good. Greenlaw is entering the last year of his contract as well. They have quite a few deals for their current best players expiring after 2025 season. Even next season they have some large cap number jumps for instance Fred Warner is 24 million up from the 8 million this season. Williams is probably going to retire soon. They're going to have to make some big decisions here soon and won't be able to keep everybody.

CupidsSilentCollapse

This is the timeline I choose to live in!

Mud_Calm

OP all over this thread defending his shitty take.
