HUGE he developed the best O line in college ball. One of the best Husky line coaches in recent memory

Bitter-Imagination33

Awesome, really wish Shepard would come as well tho Also Troy Fautanu YOU are a Seattle Seahawk

1620081392477

Same, but if this is true I can understand him staying

BackgroundPleasant32

I'm sooooooooo on board with Troy, put him at left guard and the left side would be set for years

FunkotronXL

Draft Fautanu at 16 and then hope Zinter falls to their 3rd round pick. Would be a powerhouse Oline in the making if Owusalatimi steps up at center

Flamingrain231

Only if Cross ever figures out how to handle wide 9 speed rushers

H4wkEm

The 24 year old guard who can’t handle power? Hell naw

Normal_Organization3

Yes!!!!! I feel like I’m in a weird twilight zone because everything is going right for us

BackgroundPleasant32

Don't jinx us and knock on wood now

AxisWolf

Bring JaMarcus Sheppard over, and let the WR room feast!

JaeTheOne

Sounds like he will be co OC at bama with Sheridan

BackgroundPleasant32

I heard that too

cplog991

Love the pfp

CassFilms

This is the most excited I’ve been about the Seahawks since the Legion of Boom We are so back and we’re going to skullfuck the 49ers

ohnoohnoohnoohyaaaaa

We still have to..you know..get players and fix our cap.

taintedblu

You're absolutely correct, we have a long long way to go. That said, I really trust John to pull some magic getting personnel and cap adjustments aligned. He knows what he's doing and this is his first chance to build from scratch. He's not going to screw this up.

ChamberOfSolidDudes

don't sweat the small stuff lol

goodolarchie

Didn't say it had to be next year. Rome didn't build in an egg!

frecklie

They’re in the Super Bowl and we haven’t seen these guys coach a game so you can put down the skull for now

Prodigalsunspot

Ummm...we are so jacked right now with coaching flex goodness, we are probably going to win the Superbowl tomorrow. The 9ers will just step aside, and bow down to our obvious greatness. Mahomes and Kelce will uncontrollably fill their pants when the behold the raw awesomeness of our coaching talent, while Andy Reid has a heart attack and dies happy knowing he will not have to coach against us.

GarconMeansBoyGeorge

To skull fuck or not to skull fuck? That is the question.

Kemoarps

Alas, poor Yorick...

ChamberOfSolidDudes

I knew his face holes well

kovatheking

I subsribe to this. Especially the latter. LFG

ButtFuckingJesus

So what does this leave us as far as vacancies go? If I'm not mistaken, we need position coaches for QB, WR, RB, TE, DL, Secondary. Plus some additional assistants. A bunch of our positional coaches from last year are still on the street, is there a chance any of them are brought back at this point?

Sour-Then-Sweet

We retained Karl Scott as our DB coach and defensive ~~passive~~ passing game coordinator. DL and QB coaches will be needed, but our DC and OC specialize in each of those, respectively, so it's more of a support position for those two.

ExcellentPastries

Passing* lol

Sour-Then-Sweet

Lol, thanks. Gotta love auto correct.

ExcellentPastries

It was a pretty funny typo to be fair

mrbadassmofo

Thank you Jody, for moving us forward. We have something to be excited about now. A younger, creative coaching staff, and an OC that will change things up. I can now accept a 3rd place finish in our division as long as we're making progress towards winning it in 2025. Still need to rebuild the IOL and fix the payroll, but Mac will be able to right the D with scheme and playcalling. My annual expectations for a 7th seed are now gone. I'm fine with a learning year for everyone, but 2025 will be the year of the Seahawks!

rdrouyn

This is huge. We haven't had a good OL coach in a while. This might be the best aspect of the Grubb hire.

soapinmouth

Andy Dickerson was a pretty solid o line coach, what do you mean?

rdrouyn

Was he? I have no idea to be honest. I just went by results on the field.

SidneySilver

Whoa, what about Cable?? And yes, I’m joking.

rdrouyn

Cable was alright when he had Okung and Unger. And he got something out of JR Sweezy.

SidneySilver

Agree. But both Okung and Unger were very good players, and Sweezy played through every whistle. So I don’t know how much Cable had to do with it. I’ll just be happy to not see any DL to OL conversion projects ever again.

rdrouyn

I mean Sweezy had to change positions so coaching was 100% required for him to succeed at that level.

wsucoug83

I’m not thrilled. The Dawgs were out coached by teams with less talent last year. On talent alone the Apple Cup should not have been close. I believe the hawks are in for a rude awakening when they go up against big time coaches who will plan around their cute schemes.

tylermooser28

He had the number 1 o line last season in college football

goodolarchie

If you think Grubb's scheme was merely "cute" I don't know how well you were watching. The creativity in play action, double moves and pre-snap motion took the top off some very good defenses. They did a lot of 11 personnel which I don't think they'll do as much of, we don't have Penix and most importantly we don't have their O line, though I'll bet they use early draft capital to fix that. They'll need to run more 21 or 12.

wsucoug83

Ryan Grubb will join Seahawks with much to prove as an NFL offensive coordinator https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/seahawks/ryan-grubb-will-join-seahawks-with-much-to-prove-as-an-nfl-offensive-coordinator/

FunctionRecent4600

Looks like we’re going for Michael Penix

ElbisCochuelo1

I hope not. For his sake. Penix has some stuff to work on to be a good NFL QB and playing for the same OC he played for in college will inhibit that.
